There should be a new stat for players called 'Influence'.
If a team is captained by a player with high Influence, say 92, his team would generally perform well, such as more possession, breaking through the defence effectively, etc., though they may not necessarily win.
If a team is captained by a player with low Influence, say 35, his team would not perform as good, though it is still possible to win.

That's more or less what the "Teamwork" stat is supposed to do, but it doesn't work consistently.

Yes. That is the reason why a team need a good captain!

I think the captain should always approach the ref when one of his players gets booked. It would also be good to see some players talking at the ref with their arms restrained behind their backs.

I like the idea of the captain having some significance, I'm not sure how it could be implemented though because I wouldn't want it to make too much of a difference to the gameplay though. Maybe incorporate the "mentality" stat into it all, captains are generally renowned for bringing their team out from a seemingly impossible situation to victory, such as Roy Keane for Manchester United against Juventus in the Champions League. Steven Gerrard has done it countless times for Liverpool too as we all know.

Obviously this should be limited to the truly influential captains and not just all captains for the sake of it. But it would be nice to have some slighy significance to the captains armband.

Perhaps the armband could have a similar effect as the D-Line Control star has or something along those lines?
