View Full Version : Manager Sackings, Retirements, New Job Offers
Hi,
I think this has probably been mentioned before but for my money it would have a MASSIVE influence on the gameplay of the Master League.
For example When managers hit 70 they could retire. If you start at a smaller club like Grenoble and did well you could get job offers from clubs like Lyon or Parma or Villareal etc. Or if you do poorly there should be the threat of being sacked and then having to wait for a job opportunity at a club lower down in status than the one you were sacked from.
Extra cheers and kits are all nice but I believe this would add a completely new dimension to the master league. At present it does get boring after 5 seasons regardless of what difficulty level you are playing on.
I can understand the difficulties in implementing such an addition but it really would add to the master league and the overall package.
Is this something that has ever been considered?

yes that would be great , retirements at maybe 60-65 would be more realistic
I somehow doubt that Konami is going to limit the masterleague experience to, say...30-40 years. I know nobody plays that long anyway, but if they implemented the system where you could switch teams, get fired, get job offers, you could pretty much play a limitless number of seasons.
but your idea does add realism to the game

that is in fact one of the curious facts about PES, when playing a game you always think of yourself as a character ... role playing games defined that pretty well. In a game such as PES, even though I have edited my own player, I think of myself as a manager, because I control the whole team, the transfers, the substitutions.
Seeing it from that perspective I think that specially for master league or for any championship you as a manager could actually get sacked, or hired/offered better jobs in different teams. This would in fact make championships and master leagues endless.
best regards
tm
And they should also have events/memos and that our responses affect the team harmony, job security etc. For eg. lets say two of your players were invovled in a bust-up in training. Then respond by choosing 1 of 3/4 options(for eg. 1=do nothing,2=fine both of them,3=talk to them directly etc..)your choice will influence the team harmony...
and the master league should have a better scout system. For eg. u can now send your scouts to scout for young talent in a particular nation/region...
Being able to switch teams during Manager mode on FIFA is the only thing it has over PES (even though you can choose who the hell you wabt to manage . I've long been frustrated with the Master League fixing you to just one team. The variety switching (with offers etc.) would bring a much added injection to the game mode.

So true. This would be awesome.

Holy shite! I am brand new to PES (just purchased my first PES tite - PES2010 last weekend - i've only ever played FIFA until now). Are you guys telling me that we can't switch teams during our ML campaign??? I was amazed at how great ML is compared to FIFA MM but I didn't realise we can't switch between clubs.... and can't we get fired if our club is under performing?? hmmm...
For wipsnadepoo.....I'm sorry to tell that Fifa manager mode is much more advandce than pes ML. Fifa implemented or develop the manager mode more deeply and more coverage since fifa 08.
A lot of pesfans satisfy with the pes 2010 ML ( me as well ) just because of it was a huge improvement from previous version.
Although still have a lot of room or space can be implemented to next pes series of ML. But i really satisfy with what konami have done to improve the master league.

I think a lot of people need to jump on this and get this across to Konami. I think this is the last BIG issue that we want added to ML. After this is added I think it's a lot of small stuff thats just updated and adjusted.
The ability to jump ship like Harry Redknapp and move up whenever an opportunity occurs, or be a manager that helps teams gain promotion but then drops back down to D2 after a year of not cutting in the premier league, or you can just be classic and take one team from rags to riches over 15 years before running into bad form and your board cuts you with no sympathy at all.

I think that it should be implemented and why not go a step futher and have a chance of being an International manager if you win well at club level !!

Totally agree on this suggestion.
1) You start off with a standard 5 year contract with the team you using in ML.
2) Contract conditions subject to clauses like those sponsorship clauses: Win title, cup, not get relegated. All relevant to the ranking of the club you choose. (i.e. Barca and Real: MUST WIN League and/or UCL, Burnley: Avoid relegation, Villa: Qualify for Europe, win FA Cup, etc.)
3) Your success depends on
- not just being successful on the pitch (biggest factor)
- off the pitch in terms of squad harmony,
- turning in a profit
- fan reactions to your team
4) Can also add a dimension of Manager Reputation depending on
- number of times you quit negotiations halfway through,
- taking a small, low-ranking team to greater heights,
- how your team always comes back from losing situations
- how well you can nurture youth players
5) Your team will then offer you a new contract as and when specified in the original conditions for renewal or upgrade
6) Other bigger teams will come in to try and sign you up as their manager. During these negotiations (like players' you go step by step and take a few weeks) you can:
- agree on your salary
- agree on terms and conditions
- view their team
- view their finances
7) Players will then be affected by your departure. If unhappy that you left, then makes it easier for you to sign them for your new team.
That's all I can think of for now. Will edit in red when I think of more. Please comment and let me know anything more can be added because I really think this idea has legs. Cheers!

I know this is totally unrelated, but can anyone else tell me whether they have been able to unlock the 'perfect season' achievement. I've done this but it won't give me the achievement? Has this happened to anyone else or have I done something wrong?

I agree with the Team Switch option - which should be based on your seasonal performance.
Example - If your team is Liverpool and you fail to qualify for the Champions League, then you should be sacked. This will result in lesser teams offering you a their manager's job.
However. I don't think it should be too detailed - just play the matches and do well. If you don't, you're out!
Therefore, if you start off with the like of Burnley (no disrespect) then avoiding relegation is considered a good season and expectations have been surpassed resulting in more money to buy better players.
Also... as players get older, their openess for playing at smaller clubs should appeal to them and wage expectations should be reduced. (Inzaghi, 36, wanted £3.9m to play for my spurs side)
I think this is a good, sensible and not too involved option which ultimately won't affect the overall gameplay. WE DON'T WANT ANOTHER PES MANAGER!!! Anyone remember this pile of c**p?

So what we want is a combination of pes and champ man (early 2000 being the best editions if i remember correctly), now that would be sweet, my work would suffer and my lass would dump me, but it would be fun to play!
