lol.... what a great idea.... shame no1 seems to post on the forum anymore. i will give it a push on the main homepage again next week sometime to try and get the posting numbers up. from the number of views on each thread i can see plenty of people read the board, they just dont bother posting. well i say to them sign up and post.... using the quick reply box at the bottom of the page can mean a post can take just a few seconds to reply!

ok.... so maybe that wasnt anything to do with pes/we.... but its certainly something frustrating me!

so I just thought I'd put up a thread where you can bitch about them.

My main gripe is the way in which my player sometimes plays the wrong person in certain situations. I mean, the pass is blatantly obvious, but it goes to someone else completely and almost certainly gets intercepted.

My second gripe is the annoying pause after you've been tackled. It would be better with a new system whereby the players react differently according to how tired they are. At the beginning of the match they would get tackled but immediately turn and try and win the ball back just like in real life, but after the 70th minute, or when the energy bar is low, they should just give up every now and again. This could also be related to the players aggressivness. :mad:

Sorry, I forgot the free-kick replays. The free-kick replays from the side (?) need to be removed before I go mad.....what is the point when the camera can't keep up?

I also think that the CPU picks the wrong replays at half-time and at the end of the game. Hitting the bar or post with a free kick is much more exciting to watch than a duffed shot 16 yards wide of goal that was in no danger of going in! :(

yes, i agree with the free-kick replays from the bad angle where you cant see. it is so damn stupid! like lots of things in pes2..... my other main problem with it is that the little simple things like the ability to play custom club leagues is so annoying.

I totally understand where you're coming from with the passing problem. I get this alot. It's sooo annoying when you're gonna lay it off and it passes it back to the half way line or futher!
AHHHH! You sometimes wonder if the people at Konami have actually seen a game of football!

Commentary obviously! Not being able to select the nearest player to the opposing team player in possession. Playing balls down the wing and they always curl out even though you hit it straight! Also the lack of a decent soft tackle... (that is not rude by the way!)

the players always goes for the ball, so the ball rolls to the backyard and your gk can take a kick your players wont stop running after the ball the run the bal corner for the cpu ahhhhh

If you press R1 and R2 together quickly when your player is running after the ball, they will leave it! Then you won't be giving away corners all the time.

Many of the things mentioned above, but also the fact that when editing players who are at club teams, you can't change their nationality (i.e. say you want to make Auxerre in place of Palmeiras, you're stuck with a Brazilian Auxerre team).

Also, the power with which players can "poke" the ball with the outside of their foot, especially when IRL the situation would virtually always demand/make the player just twist and smack it on his weaker foot. Ronaldo springs to mind...

The fact that the keeper runs out and clear when there is no need. And dumb goals when the keeper stands wondering what's happening!

I agree 100% with you on both points. I cannot add any more to your points I just thought It wa s a very valid reason and had to show my appreciation.

me too man, that is so annoying. i think the most sought after thing in terms of in-game options is manual replays, when we get those, we will get the power, and then we get the women...ok, maybe not that much but you get the point.

I read in a PS2 magazine that the staff there play PES2 all the time but end up waiting 8 hours a day for loading.

I was quite confused by this as I think one of the best things about the Konami games is the very short game loading times.

What does anyone think?

8 hours a day? I think "play PES2 all the time" must be a literal meaning, then. I suppose if there's quite a few of them, and they do a lot of playtesting, then perhaps. But 8 hours seems excessive to me. Plus they probably count the PS2 loading screens as well, even though these are on all games.

I have played fifa (many years ago) and TIF which both have awfully long loading times. Just another great reason for preferring the PES/WE games.

The problem I have is sometimes i want to pass a long ball forward (diagonal pass), and my player ends sending the ball to his own half.. its soo annoying.. then there are sometimes that you can pass the ball normally,,, it is just me, a gamepad problem, or a game setting that I have to correct?? please help.

also, i like the new handball rule, but it happens TOO often! like it averages 2-3 per game, its ridiculous!!! but then... i still haven't seen a handball which gave a penalty.... didn't konami test the game b4 releasing it?!?!
