Most of the time you can't hear the whistle, and the sound it makes is really unrealistic

Care to explain in any more detail? What makes it unrealistic?

Personally, I couldn't care less, but if it annoys you, then fight your corner mate ;)

Like, the sound of it, is deep, in most whistles, the sound is higher pitched.

Yeah, I can totally see how this would bring a man to the brink of insanity.

in 2009 they make you wait for the whistle like its some kind of traffic light. sometimes i don't want the sound on! waiting for the whistle is for the purpose of making sure the referee is ready, it doesn't aid the sport as a spectacle, even less so as an interactive experience

I'm suprised you actually give a shit about how the whistle sounds?

I'm too busy to care about the whistle, since I'm giving a volley of abuse to the screen whenever the whistle is against me.

Same. Especially when the decisions are against me. I always end up shouting abuse at the referee, so much so that I don't really register the sound of the whistle.

I know what you mean about the wistle. It is a bit deep and the tone is slightly long.

But like the others say - who gives a f£ck about the sound of the wistle?
