Yh I guess Konami do care about the NA version.

It's just that European football is more populor, so Konami want to focus more on where most people will play the game.

They DO care about NA, but they want to focus more on Europe.

The answer is probably "no."

We will likely never get the same degree of attention, simply because there's way less money for them to make from us. Don't interpret that to mean that they only care about money or anything. They have a business to run, and they only do what makes sense. EA are the same way, except that the only reason we get better treatment from them is because they are based in NA.

BTW - it has gotten so much better than it once was that I can hardly even describe it. There were days back on the PS1 that I wished we even got the game! We used to get an "americanized" (i.e. mls) version which was worse, and sometimes never came out at all!!! Plus, the release date was always way longer. Now we get relatively the same treatment at Europe (compared to what the gulf once was).

As for online, I'm not sure. Is it even possible for them to allow us to play against other countries?

Can someone confirm whether if I order the game from overseas I will be able to play it on a north American console (XBOX 360) and whether that means I can then play against players from Europe online? I have heard people (like above) suggests this but I would want to confirm before ordering.

Thanks!

@ iamcanadianeh - I don't think you can.

yesterday I went onto play.com and went to PES2010 game, and it said this will only work on uk or european consoles.

so i think you going to have to pre-order from NA stores.

does the NA version feature more than the usual two/three Argentinean clubs?

I think it features the same teams as its European counterpart.

I am pretty sure that all PS3 games are region free.

He is talking about the XBOX 360 version, which isnt region free.

PS3 Version works. Its region free.

Wouldn't your console have to be chipped to play games from other continents? My friends were telling me a few months ago to chip my PS3 so I could buy cheap games from foreign countries and play them, but are they right or is the chip only for the PS2 and the PS1?

All PS3 games are region free. You don't have to chip it, as it is not available at the moment. If it's eventually available, the only use is to play pirated games.

I hope that my stores will import the EU version this year. Last year, they imported the American version, and I'm really not happy with the lack of attention that Konami gave. There was a patch where the American version received ages after the European version got it.

I was just about to post a thread about this, but I'm more worried about the online play, which is a big thing for me in every other game, so why shouldn't it be the same for PES?
I don't think I've ever played more than 50 games in my 07 and 08 PES' combined (I never bought 09 FIFA nor PES).

My guess is that we probably will only be able to play with ourselves in NA, like how for example, when I play PES 2008, it also says in the name (US), meaning its a different version, affecting more the online play, which gets way too limited.

I just hope that it's improved and that I'll be able to play without lag.

Import a PAL 360 or buy a PS3 and then import the game.

most games are region locked but some arent. some PAL versions can be played anywhere just like some JAP versions can. the best example of this is play asia, but they tell you which formats a game will work on. also alot of games release a region free version o month later.

for example theres the jap version of batman

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dw-49-en-70-3cqk.html

but there is no region protection so it will play on any console.

wether or not PES will be i cant say. i wouldnt think so but the post above leads me to think otherwise.

Thanks for all the help. Maybe I will have to buy me a PS3 then.

If I do buy one, and import the game (assuming it works), can I use the EU updates? Can I play against people from Europe online?

thnx

PES EU zone can use EU update, EU online(not sure) and EU option file.
This is annoying.
I have pes2009 US zone. OF very hard to find but I'm luck to get best once.
PES 2010 I will buy UK/EU zone.
