Glentoran F.C is the team I support, they play in the Carling P remier League (Irish League) and are currently the champions. The club founded in 1882, and their colours are green, red, black.
Many former Glentoran players have went on and play in England and Scotland, Danny Blanchflower, Peter Doherty, Bertie Peacock, Billy Bingham, just to name a few. But more recently, Glen Little, Stuart Elliot, Andy Kik and Andy Smith.

What?
I think he's done the Facepalm due to Glentoran being a basically unknown team.
The guy who gives me lifts into footie used to play for the Glens..

Glentoran, who are they?
Did you not read the first post?

Dundalk are from republic, so they play in the Irish League with the likes of Cork City, Finn Harps, Bray etc
Did you not read the first post?
Obviously..
But with Glentoran instead of Accrington Stanley

If I'm not mistaken, they're basically the Celtic of N.Ireland football yes?
@Gun_Runner, they play in a different league but there is a cup which combines both leagues so it is very likely that the two teams could play each other.

Oh right. I always thought it was kinda Glentoran (Celtic) and Linfield (Rangers)... Really don't know why, never any reasoning behind it. :erm:

To confirm- Glentoran are NOT the Celtic of Glentoran, but Linfield think they are Rangers, which they are not- their supporters sing Rangers song but change Rangers to Linfield and Glasgow to Belfast eg. For theres not a team like the Belfast Linfield. What a pile of shit lmfao.
Edit- Youtube can show videos of Glentoran etc, if you type in Linfield Glentoran Football Focus, it is a old video but still wth. To check out our fans Legion 1882 Season Reveiw......Just brilliant.

Cool. That's cleared up a lot. I have no idea why I always thought it was like that. I think it's because of the fact that you just said Linfield think they are Rangers and therefore I assumed their biggest rivals would take the identity of Celtic.
Good team for the league they're in, nothing more after that though. Bohs beat them the other day in the cup. Another good team for the league they're in. Nothing special.

Oh its fine lots of people get confused, I wasn't angry or anything just trying to clear it up for you and others.
Yea we are good in the league we are in, because for the qualifiers we got beat by Maccifa Hafia 6-0 on aggregate but the referee gave our fans after the home leg the highest mark for behavior, support etc which he has ever given, which for me makes me proud to be a Glenman , yes Bohs beat us, unfortuantly I couldn't go because my season ticket is at my cousins house. Keith Gillespie had his debut, but he still isn't fit (but he is for Irish League standards, but he hasn't trained in a while).

Yeah I wasn't implying you were angry or anything. The match was on tv, can't remember what channel though. I watched the last 20 mins or so. I reckon Gillespie will big fairly big for you when he gets fully fit again. He will be a target for opposition though in most games, being the big name and all.

Ok, do you watch the Glentoran vs Linfield matches on tv? And hopefully if they do target Gillespie they will forget about the other good (Irish League players) and they can sneak afew goals:ninja:. What team do you support in (I see you are from Ireland) so who do you support in Ireland?

I've only ever watched two or three matches between the two, and I think they were finals of some sort.
I wouldn't be into the Eircom League at all tbh. I'll admit I'd watch any Irish team playing in Europe, albeit only once or twice a season!

Lol, me too.
Glentoran Linfield matches are on Sky Sports, last year at The Oval, a English, Sky Sports presenter was over and he was saying it was absoulutly brilliant and that you couldn't see the pitch because of flares, which again made me feel proud again. I was at it and didn't see him say it, but I asked my mate as he couldn't get a ticket so he watched it on Sky Sports.

Havent been on in ages! Anyway, is the 'famous' Glentoran goal scored last year.

The guy that supplied the cross has left Glentoran for coleraine and scored a goal that is floating about online.
