Hi was just wondering do the boots you select in BAL make any difference to your player? Obviously there are stats for each boot but if you were to change from say the vapors to predators would your speed and agility decrease and your power and accuracy improve?

Guess no one knows???

have you tried comparing player stats with different boots equipped, just an idea.

i was confused they gave the nikes better curve stats than the preds

It is a good question tbh..and im pretty sure the visible player stats don't go up & down accordingly, but i do feel they make some difference in my experience...although there's the chance it was luck i suppose as i can't prove it lol.
Basically i was in my first season of BAL and my guy had hit alot of shots wide so i checked out the boots and decided to go with the Adidas Predator's as they have 4/5's for shot accuracy and power. After that i honestly felt like my guys shooting improved all round. Just started my 3rd season and i still use the Predator's...just occasionally change from the white to black just for a visual change as they have the same stats anyway.
Anyway, personally i think they do make a difference but who knows for sure lol :)

^They do make a difference, not huge though; otherwise the game wouldn't give them stats.
But my question is. Do they make the difference in the starting stats in BAL?

I highly doubt that.

I started out with a pair of shooting boots once, had shitty shooting stats anyway.

Your starting stats are decided after what you do in the scoutmatch - that's all.

The boots, however, affect the areas of which they cover greatly. With shooting boots, I didn't miss so much. With running boots, I tend to miss quite a lot if I'm too far out.

Note, by shooting- and running boots, I mean boots that have their stats predominantly in the Accuracy/Power and Acceleration/Top Speed areas.

I just pick the same boots I use myself for added realism, so black & red predators pour DublinGunner BAL lol (if only they had the black/gold ones like mine - couldn't be bothered trying to edit!)

yeah that should be addressed in the game - preditors should have the most curve!! but they dont??
other thing is speed shouldnt really be affected by your boots should be down to player only.

I went with the preditors too might try swapping to test.

they really should document this in the manual!! there is so much that should be explained in the manuals, but then maybe they dont really know themselves what effect the it all has! leaving the details out means the cant be highlighted if they dont work! lol

The scoutmatch is the first match, Babilanya vs. salsabi or anything liek this.

I didnt even realise you could pick or change boots, nevermind them giving you a stat boost. No wonder I've been skying so many sitters. I'm probably wearing crappy boots.

I'm using the blue nike. Unfortunately i play shite in the predators, when i try to change. To me it seems like passing, running etc. - everything gets slower with "shooting boots".

Its somewhere near where your focus training thing is. Next to appearance settings. You can change anytime.

The shooting boots definately helped me. Wish I'd spotted them first season.

^ Yeah just go to "player" - "appearance settings".

Hey guys. How do these boots work anyway?

Are they bonuses? If I put on a pair of "slow boots," would my speed "receive no speed bonus" or "become slower"?

My bet is the latter, though. My BAL's aim is depressing, so I tried a pair Predator once. Noticeably slow. Now using Nike Mercurial. Kinda worth it to sacrifice aim for speed when you're a winger.

That is why I use overall boots. They are red pumas. Quite nice, actually :)

They have 3/5 for everything.

The shoes probably make about as much difference as there is beetwen a short/light and a tall/heavy player in the scoutmatch..if you choose the same position for both types, their stats for the match will be the same, but there's clearly a difference in gameplay..i.e.the short/light player is a bit more agile and swift in movement, while the tall/heavy player has more balance and power..

Yeah, it makes sense, but I think that the boots boost is kind of psycological more than real lol...
