View Full Version : Why PES3 will be crap!

I'm sorry to say this but PES3 will be nothing more than a boring cash-in of a once good game. Looking at those new videos on the site it looks like only the appearance of the game has changed rather than the gameplay. Whats the betting that they wont even include updated team rosters in the final version.

Er, what's wrong with the gameplay as it is?
Hopefully they will take out the bugs and glitches that can make it annoying at times.
Other than that, the gameplay is the reason everyone prefers it to the alternative footie games.

Rosters should be updated as from about July.
If not, there should be an decent trannsfer option.
If not, that would piss us off.
But let's at least give them the chance to show us what they will do before we complain.

Everyone is excited about the game and most of us will be buying it very shortly after it comes out.

If anything, it will be at least as good as WE6:FE which is great so that is a huge improvement on PES2 already.

I think the English teams are more like this:

Manchester Utd
Arsenal
Chelsea
Liverpool
Leeds United
West Ham United
Newcastle United
Aston Villa
Tottenham Hotspur
Everton
Blackburn Rovers
Fulham
Charlton

This is a good selection.
No offence, but if they let in teams like Ipswich, other European fans may get upset and want their teams in too.

I think they only look into the top few teams of the top division of each country at a certain point and choose them that way.
At least Charlton are in the premiership.

Agree with you about West Ham.
They could have the Fiorentina syndrome soon.

if there including Charlton, why aren't they including Southampton who finished 8th?

Charlton have consistently finished quite high (top 10) for the last four or five years, since they were promoted. Southampton have had one good year! From England i would rather just have the big teams, Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle, nobody else. Obviously you should be able to edit any team into the game but the originals should be the glamour sides (and Liverpool).

You move Rio Ferdinand to Man Utd as you probably already have done. Then, you replace the Rio at Leeds with another player (e.g. Lucic). Unfortunately, this is the only way. Commentary names can't be changed, so, using the example, Teddy Lucic would be called "Ferdinand" and Rio Ferdinand will be called whoever you went over at Man Utd (more than likely "Blanc").

Zygalski

But then the Rio in England will become Lucic too.
Meaning you have to use base copies.
I left them at the original clubs as well to save messing the national teams.

PES3 will be crap cos it won't be properly online and it won't be PES4!

you have a point there.

I think it will be v good. Each incarnation has significantly moved things on for me. It's just that I really want an online option to play. Even if it was 1 on 1 only.

Zygalski
05-06-2003, 14:51
Reb, you said you don't want to be losing to good players, but it seems if it was online, mostly good players would be playing. Not so good players would go and practice.

So when PES4 comes out, hopefully with online matches, you ready then will be, young padawan!

Aaah! But if I go to PESTAL I have to get thrashed by loads of people face to face. If online it would make sense to have different waiting rms/lobbies (is that what they're called?) for diff skill levels. Also I wouldn't have to see any of the people beating me! And I could play at any time as there would be a wider pool of players to choose from and someone would bound to be on. Out of breath now after that sentence! Phew!

I don't believe that you can think that you are that bad.
The best thing about the tournaments is the experience you gain which helps you improve your game.

And with players on random form, anything can happen!

thats the great thing about the pes series. you really do get better by playing harder opponents.

Ok. Ok. Just not into humiliation... I am a control freak. Can't bear to lose!

Zygalski
05-06-2003, 22:21
As long as you're not one of those arrogant "I'm the best ever at PES2" types, it should all be cool.
Those are the guys that get thrashed, possibly due to their attitude.
Hey, everyone has a bad day. I've managed to lose a few too.

I've never played any online games before, except on pc e.g yahoo pool, how good do they run? the dreamcast had online didn't it? did anyone play online games with one? how good was the online gaming experience compared to playin against a mate on the same console?

Played Quake and Chu Chu Rocket Online with DC, not too bad but there was a quarter second delay which was very annoying, these problems won't occur with PS2.

wixon

yeah, there'll be no annoying time gaps with ps2 online play because of brilliant broadband!!!!!!
