Thought I'd continue the trend from the GTAIV section over here, so is "Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" worth a rating of 10?

I'm not really sure myself as I've not really touched the single player campaign yet (try not to spoil it all), but I think that's a testament to how good the online really is.

I can't really think of what online is missing yet to be honest, I'm clutching at straws. Possibly just a few more maps, despite there being 16 maps, it seems as though we always play the same ones for some reason (I've been getting Wasteland a lot), but I guess it's up to Infinity Ward what maps we get at certain times and the frequency in which they crop up. Nothing some new map packs won't fix over time, hopefully there will be a nice map pack over Christmas.

As I say though, I'm not totally sure how to rate this game yet as I'm yet to really touch any other aspect other than online. As for online play though solely, I'd probably give it a 9.5/10. Nothing's perfect eh? I'll just let you know what the flaws are when I think of them. ;)

It's definitely not perfect, even if it's the best FPS.

The only thing that stops it being 10/10 is the map called Quarry.

I like quarry :( never been on Rust though weird.

I think it's a great game Campaign is great and you do feel for some characters which is rare in games, i'd give it 9/10

Online is just brilliant though

Yeah the campaign is short as fuck though. Thats another thing thats stops it being 10/10.

Like, what if you're not on the internet? You have this very short campaign mode, and then only special ops to keep you occupied. If you're not online, theres little to this game imo.

everyone has internet these days though. theyy know this, the online play is the biggest draw feature imo

great game but it'll never top Goldeneye in my books

I've not finished single-player yet, or played online for anywhere near long enough, but one thing that stops it from getting a 10 off the bat is the shitty match-making system. The whole point of match-making is to put similar ranked players in games together, not dropping them in with level 3 prestiges who have played the game non-stop since release.

Also the lack of rotation on maps seems a bit off. I've only seen about 5 and two of them are shit.

I think they tried to sort out the match-making by making it so you had to get to a certain level in order to search for certain games modes (HQs, S & D etc.) but when I first went online and was trying to rank up, everyone seemed to be 10 levels or so higher than me all of the time for ages. I rarely saw anyone anywhere near my level. It's not so much of a problem these days though as I'm in the 20s somewhere.

The rotation certainly is a bit shit. I seem to rarely get Favela, Sub Base, never had Rust as far as I can remember.

Yeah the rotation is quite poor, although I think that might be down to the different game modes you play. Like some maps are obviously better at different modes than others are.

3rd person cage match I pretty much always get Rust. Obviously you'd never see this i na game of S&D because its too small.

TDM is pretty much always Favela, Rundown or Skidrow.

S&D is always Wasteland and Derail.

just completed the mission, i can see why people think the main game is too short, but don't forget about the special ops that will defo keep you busy

i cant remember the last time i actually completed a game, so that tells you how short the 1 player is. Do ya think all the time and effort put into the levels took up too much space on the disc etc ? Quality, not Quantity being their motto

brilliant game though, my favourite missions were always the 1 you creep about doing things in stealth. Anyone recommend another great action game that has a nice blend of action and creeping about ?

loved the ending to modern warfair 2 though

You could get the game for a few quid more than a pizza it's pretty cheap these days, it's amazing cut scenes are pure wankery which is great.

atm im giving the game a 7.5 lack of rotation maps spawing points are bad some of the perks for certain modes ruin things like kill streaks in search and destroy and the way people can knife you by standing at least 5 foot away. When the game grows on me more then it will go up
