Guide to making a CDrip of your WE7:I Japan DVD

I´ve found this guide on evo-web, it seems to work, special thanks to "khld1" who created this one

Requirements:

1. IsoBuster. http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/
2. CDRWIN or NERO.
3. The WE7I DVD.
4. KonsoleForce RipKit. Download at: http://www.konsoleforce.ws/down/ps2/patches/KF_PS2_Winning_Eleven_7_JAP.zi p

STEP 1:
Create a new Folder, name it whatever you like, and on any drive.
Example: WE7I (C Drive).

STEP 2:
Extract ALL the files from KonsoleForce RipKit zip file into your folder (WE7I).

STEP3:
Use IsoBuster to extract ALL the files from the DVD to the SAME folder (WE7I) EXCEPT DUMMY.bin, since you already extracted that file from the RipKit. Just highlight ALL the files except DUMMY, then write click and choose extract.

Note: You can create a DVD image of the game on your HD. Just right click on DVD-R, then exctract image.

STEP 4: SLPM file Check:
(a) SLPM_654.97: Proceed to STEP 5.
(b) SLPM_654.98: Rename SLPM.654.98 to SLPM.654.97. Then open SYSTEM.CNF with notepad and change the text on the first line to where it says SLPM.654.97, then save the file.

STEP 5:
Decide which commentry language you want (you can only have 1).
Open konsoleforce ripkit software and choose the language you want from the menu (i recommand Japanese) and click get it. wait for about a minute for iso to build.

Note 1: I tried the English version, but it hangs up when you choose English at the beginning of the game. Personally, I would suggest a Japanese commentary version.

Note 2: All the languages text will be available, but only 1 commentary language you chose at STEP 4. Once you choose a commentary langauge and rip the image, all the DATA_X.AFS files on your folder are not reusable for another commentary rip. If you decide to make another language version, you only have to extract a new DATA_X.AFS files from the DVD.

STEP 6:
Your iso should now be in your folder. The size is about (638MB) for the Japanese Rip. Now you can choose whether you want to use CDRWIN or NERO.

Option 1: CDRWIN:
(a) Open CDRWIN and click on the fourth option from the left on the top row where it says
backup tool/operation.
(b) Select record an ISO9660/udf image file. next to the image file, select your new image.
(c) Now click START, a new window will appear, with options below must be Disc Type; CDROM-XA and the track mode MODE 2. Make sure the finalize/close session and write postgap boxes are checked. Now Click Record Disc.

Option 2: NERO:
(a) First make sure that Click file, then Burn Image.
(b) Select your image from the folder.
(c) A new window will appear. make sure that the finalize CD and Write boxes are checked. At Write method box, choose "Disc-At-Once".
(d) Select writing speed, then click WRITE.

Bin/Cue Option: To create a bin/cue image, first we need to convert the iso file to a .bin and .cue file. To do this:
(a) Open your new image in CDMAGE and select the first option M1/2048 track (*.iso),
then select FILE->SAVE AS.
(b) Now select a name for your .bin image, and makesure that the file type is Fireburner BIN/CUE. Click SAVE.
(c) The save options will now appear, Under convert tracks and after the word 'to' select MODE2/2352. Click OK. CDMAGE will now create a new image with extension .bin and .cue (2 files).
Now you can burn the bin/cue image using Nero. Select recorder->record image and select your .cue file.

Note: When a new patches comes out for DVD, you will be able to play the patched DVD on a CD. All you have to do:
(a) Open the DVD using IsoBuster and create a DVD image of the game on your HD. Just right click on DVD-R, then exctract image.
(b) Patch the DVD image using ppf-o-matic3.
(c) Go through the guide to great a iso image, then burn it to a CD.

If your interested in a NO MOD Rip, use jayjay's RipKit. You will find a text file with detailed instructions on how to create a NO MOD version. Download at:
ftp://we:we@lomungtung.noip.com/WE7International/WE7I_Multi_No_Mod_Ripkit_Fixed .rar

Thanks to jayjays for using some of his work.

Supid question,

Will the patch for Jap version work for the US version. I mean the data can't be that different right? Or am I just an idiot??

LeChuck

no, it won't

Will this work if you have an already patched DVD image (with the redux dvd patch) and then you rip it to burn it to cd? Just curious...

yes, but you should leave the Japanese or Italian language in

Thanks... although I just tried it and it doesn't seem to boot up, it goes back to the browser. It does recognise it as a PS2 disc, but if you click on it it just stays on a black screen for a while and then goes back to the browser again. I did follow the guide above, and I made sure to keep Japanese audio. I burnt it with Nero.

Any ideas?

Sorry to annoy everybody, but I have tried burning the .cue file to disc but doesn't seem to work. Should my .cue file be 1kb and my .bin file 751,193kb.

If this is correct please tell me as I just need to know I am getting this bit right (because I am probably messing up in other areas)

Only asking this because my .bin seems bigger than my .cue so just wondering why I do not burn .bin instead?

I know it may sound retarded, but if you can put me straight that would be great, Thank you.

larsson
18-03-2004, 23:11
it´s ok, bin should be about 750 mb and the cue is only a small file, if you open it with notepad you´ll see that the only thing the cue is doing is pointing to the bin file.
You can load the bin without the cue into Nero or Fireburner and burn, you could load the cue as well, doesn´t make any difference

I was guessing I'd need a DVD drive to do this, but it wasn't on the requirements list. So I was wondering, do I need a DVD drive to make the rip?

larsson
24-03-2004, 03:34
Yes, a DVD drive to read the DVD and a cd writer

I dont no about Nero, but i always use CDRwin, and i had never problems by burning a ISO file on CD (same with a Bin/Cue file). So, if nero doesnt work try CDRwin :)

I have managed to make a cd rip of we7i(jap), I burnt it to cd and works fine.
But somehow I have messed up my original .bin and .cue (don't ask me how, very long and complecated).

I have tried to make new .bin and .cue from ripping my dvd again but it now won't rip.

So here is my question:

Is there a way of using the rip I have on cd to make a .bin and .cue file?. There must be but I am unsure, as there is no iso.

I have extracted the files into a folder, what do I do next?

Please help, very close to patching but have mucked up slightly

I think the best way would be to start again and try to rip it from the beginning.

bbbybx
25-03-2004, 21:41
Is there no way of creating a .bin from the cd then? I thought there would be.

It took me so long to finally make a cd rip my dvd, and I cant do it again (just luck getting it in first place).

So there is no way of creating the .bin from my already ripped cd?

Sorry for repeating myself but I thought it would be possible.

ashmufc

All you have to do is when you first rip it make it a MASTER COPY in a new folder so you dont have to keep ripping it.

Anybody have any idea why the game would crash at the point where the players are in the tunnel. I've burnt with nero and with alcohol but get the same result

Here's a question for everyone..

Maybe I'm just missing something obvious but for some reason all the player names in the game are in Japanese. I did the DVD rip, used the konsoleforce rip kit fo get English commentary.

I boot the game up just fine, and I choose English when it give me a choice. Menus are in English, commentary is in English and even the beginning tu nnel sequence the team names and stadium are in English. But the player names are still in Japanese.

How do I get the player names to be in English for this amazing game? Do I need a different ripkit or a patch or an option file? Or is there another option I'm just missing somewhere?

I have to say this site is absolutely amazing!

Thanks for the help and Peace out...

larsson

That´s normal, you have to patch your game in order to get English names. Or use an option file. We have any info about patching in the sticky threads.

hi there,

i have this file: SLKA_251.17 instead of the SLPM file. any ideas as to how i can rip the DVD i've got to CD? or is the SLPM file somewhere else, and not in the root directory of the DVD. any help would be appreciated, as i haven't had any elsewhere!

thanks

SLKA is not the Japanese version I think, Japanese WE always have SLPM, this guide is for the Jap version only.

cheers larsson, but do you know what version it is? and do you know any sites with guides for other versions? i've just had a look at the version i've got on the website and it's the korean one.

larsson
25-05-2004, 16:01
Thought the Korean one is on CD not DVD
Well, I don´t know if there are any ripping kits for the Korean version, there are no patches for it available so there´s no reason for ripping it

ashmufc

chips?

Aye, I'll have mine with vinegar and fish.

Anyway, I can't my JAP RIP NO-MOD rip kit to work. It comes out as 618mb, but it never works! Anybody else know of one. And I might try making the dummy file go to 0, hope that works.

I do have the same problem as I burn my .iso file (638Mo) with Alcool120.
It is recognized as a PS2 game, the "Playstation 2" logo appears and then there is a black screen ...
Did somebody find an answer to that regular problem
Thanks in advance !!!

Zygalski
07-07-2004, 12:40
The black screen is common as there are so many things that could have gone wrong in the ripping/patching/burning process. More details are needed in order to help.
Does the clean CD-rip work fine?

Sorry, but I don't understand what do you mean by "Does the clean CD-rip work fine?"
The PS2 recognizes the CD as a valid PS2 game and launches it, till the "Playstation 2" logo appears.
Then it's the black screen come-back

thank you so much Zygalski , larsson and everyone else because I JUST MADE my rip and for a newbie not good with computers to do this.... i jus feel so great now!!!

thank you guys..... you're all legends... so detailed... and such good guides.

of course this was just STEP ONE to getting one of these wonderful patches installed on my WE7i Jap but i believe i can do it.

it does get harder... and more complicated but with support like this.... i think even I CAN do it.

p.s. Zygalski..... are you the same guy on PESFAN.com forums who me and you have been discussing Marking options and tactical stuff for A LONG TIME??
