View Full Version : What Maps would you like to see
Title says it all. You can think of your own or from areas in the single player.
I'd love to see a map like the area in Single player with the Pizza place and the Petrol station and the other restaurants etc. 4 main buildings maybe a few floors high lots of windows with the middle of the map covered with trees and hedges.
A map like the Street fight on Single player i think it's just before or after the pizza, Petrol station area. Lots of houses and lots of cars and trees hedges.
So that would make two proper sniper maps

Modern games - especially FPS ones - on consoles need to wise up and simply include a map editor with the game. I'm sure the consoles have the firepower and technical resources to make it viable.
I spent hours creating levels for Unreal Tournament on the PC.
-Whiskey Hotel (White House). Could either be close combat in just the building itself, or add a lot of the surrounding gardens to give snipers a chance.
-A multi-levelled night time map on the oil rig would be great fun I reckon. A good version of Wetwork, with less random grenades and helicopter mauling.
-The Gulag. Open area fortress with the dark jails and sewers below.
A surburban street map from the mission where you need to throw smoke to hide from a tank i think it is.
I'd like a map with one level but not too open like Wasteland.
Usually the maps they release after the original are a bit shite though.
defo would like to the map with the burger bar/petrol station that would be immense. good for all types of player i feel but snipers would be everywhere and i dont like them.

Bloc was the worst map on COD4, in my opinion of course. I'd be livid if that was re-introduced in MW2, for two reasons; 1) It's a shit map...and 2) It's got nothing to do with modern warfare.
As mentioned by Haribo, I'd love to see a really dark night map, that way Infinity Ward can then bring back the use of night-vision goggles (would make some sense considering they released the prestige edition of the game which included real night-vision goggles). By having a night map, it would just cover all the bases really and add another element to the gameplay and strategy, would make for some interesting matches. I'm not sure what type of map I'd want though.
I've always said though that I'd want a variety of weather conditions for the maps. Whether it's Derail in the pitch black darkness of the night or Wasteland during the night. I'd just like to see a variety. But not Bloc.
Ahh the immortal words in my opinion. Does wonders to change the tone of a message.
In my opinion, of course, Bloc was the best map on Call Of Duty 4 and i'd love to see it introduced. How does it have nothing to do with modern warfare when it was in the original Modern Warfare game?
Bloc is based on the Prypiat flashback in the first when you play as Price. So doesn't 'tie-in' much.
I'd like a free patch where a couple of maps had a night time rotation, one being Derail. I never really played World At War, but think Treyarch provided something similar? There's a worry how much it could benefit thermal vision, mind.

It can be like a 'Bonus' Map Pack that contains 3 or 4 maps from COD4. So not the main Map Pack that we'll have to pay for, but just a free bonus Map Pack!
But, that will probably never happen LOL.
The maps i'd like to see in Modern Warfare 2 from COD4 are:
- Crash
- Overgrown
- Crossfire
- Bog
and maybe a few more. The only maps I would say no to are 'Bloc', 'Creek' and 'Countdown'. I didn't like those maps much.
Just my ideas ;)

I can't remember the name of the Special Ops mission it is, but where one of you is in the AC-130 and another is running through houses in the dark, did anyone else realise that part of the map is actually Downpour from CoD4?

That level in the snow towards the end of the game would make a good one I think. You're in the woods at the beginning and it's rather dark. Any old wood would be good, though. Also, the level where you make your way through the houses/estate. Would be could for CTF. And a jungle.
problem with a jungle would be that every1 would just camp in the bush with there heartbeat or themal gun. not exactly exciting.
New maps out in February i hear they are free too.

Most of, if not all, the CoD 4 maps were based on locations from the campaign. And there's a fair amount of the Spec Ops that are based in the same places, so crossovers are bound to happen.
I doubt there's any chance of a jungle map. Especially if Treyarch make a Vietnam game. :shfty:
