I figured it out.
Here's how to make sure the COM managers piss you off nevermore:
I'll use Luis Figo as my example.
When looking at Real Madrid's tourney or season stats, it is frustrating to see Figo as a role player coming off the bench. The COM managers aren't necessarily stupid, they are just one-track minded and lack the editing powers you and I have.
Figo is listed as an OMF. Solari, who I'm sure is a wonderful player and all, is in there instead of Figo as a *DMF*.
All you have to do, and this change will apply to the middle of your current season :D , is save, and fly back to your player edit option and change Solari's primary position to Figo's old one, and change Figo to a DMF. I would even go as far as to completely remove the possibility of the unwanted player staying on first team by removing his ability to play the position altogether.
And so on for the other roster mistakes........
And common sense tells me this will work if you change formations and other roster-altering things as well. Basically what I'm saying is, if you just can't live without seeing Figo as an OMF, then edit the formation to accompany another OMF, and just to be safe change Solari into a cheerleader or whatever just to be sure..
I haven't tried the latter method so don't hang me if it doesn't work.
