UPDATED April 5th, 2010

Here is the latest file derived using the ideas from this thread that tries to improve the gameplay by changing Team Styles (click for link) (http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=75477). It is for North American PS3s with the 1.03 patch.

If you have downloaded any DLC you may initially have trouble with this file. I downloaded the 1.04 DLC and it kept on trying to overwrite my edit file, even though I had deleted the DLC from my hard drive. So I then deleted everything regarding PES 2010 off my hard drive (including the "Game Data Utility" section of the XMB), downloaded the 1.03 patch again (but not any DLC), and was good to go.

Here is a brief rundown of what the changes do:

Increased Player Support helps the computer attack more.
Decreased Support Range gives the game better spacing.
Increased Position Switch helps eliminate the backline ping pong passing by the computer.
Lowered Offensive Style gives the game better spacing.
Increased Pressing for more realistic pressure by the computer.
Increased Defensive Line for more lofted through balls by the computer.
Lowered Compactness gives the game better spacing.

Here is the file, tailored for Professional difficulty:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B6F1HIG1

It includes:

Changes to Team Styles:

1. Player Support - Add 40 to each team.
2. Support Range - Subtract 20 from each team.
3. Position Switch - Raise by 20 for each team, not going over 80.
4. Offensive Style - Subtract 30 from each team, not going under 20.
5. Pressing - Add 10 to each team, not going over 70.
6. Defensive Line - Add 20 to each team.
7. Compactness - Lower by 30 for each team, not going under 20.

The file also includes changes to every team's assisted settings so that the computer will handle managing duties (good for quick play). Please note: there is a small glitch with these changes to the assisted settings, see post #7 of this thread for details.

I used mrgametight's base file (http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=74118) to start out with, did the changes mentioned above, and also did the following:

-Renamed the unlicensed stadiums.

-Moved Bayern to group A, overwriting Stabaek. And then changed Werder to the default (basically clearing group B).

-Added emblems for the unlicensed teams in group A.

-Added 55 pngs for kits, for the unlicensed club teams in group A and many of the national teams.

(emblems and kits taken from JackWhoBRA's thread (http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=73460))

I then created kits for the unlicensed teams in group A, as well as all the national teams. For teams without pngs I gave them a generic png (either: puma, nike, or adidas). Please note, the kits are not official. I had to cut some corners due to time constraints.

If someone wants to make changes to this file for Top Player difficulty, the only changes I would make would be to the "Pressing" which I would lower by 60 (or 50 off the default).

Thanks to the people involved in all the threads I linked.

Version 2, uploaded April 5th, 2010 includes:

1. Added a defender to attack on set pieces for each team.
2. Removed "Pressure" and "Total Defense" from each team's strategies if they were there, and added "Counter Attack" and "All Out Attack" if they were not.

Computer controlled teams will now attack a bit more and not be so passive. If you have already copied the kits from version 1 you will only need to overwrite the edit file, because that is the only thing that has changed.

It looks good just one question? Does it still have the fake names in the 9 teams from the league A... Thanks.

I didn't change any player names... Well, one... The right back on Stuttgart, who is on the Mexican national team.

Just one suggestion... You should have downloaded one of the Of with complete teams with corrected names and done yours based from those and it would have been better bro... Because for lots of people having fake names kinda sucks. But still man great job on your OF :) .

If they release another patch that reverts the edit file back to the default settings, then I might redo it starting with another person's file.

Massive update to this file, using mrgametight's base file to start out with this time. So players are named, and the emblems and kits are a lot better (though I didn't have time to make official kits). See the first post for more details.

Head's up for people using this file...

If you play a ML and switch the managing settings back to user controlled, for some reason the CPU will sometimes override those settings and still make managing decisions. I haven't figured out exactly why, but during a few games I've had the CPU sub in guys for me or even change the formation. I went to check the assisted settings and sure enough they were switched back to CPU assisted.

If you have switched the assisted settings back to user controlled in your ML the only thing I can say at this point is check the assisted settings at about the 60th minute to help prevent any unwanted subs or formation changes.

edit:

I've figured out that once you switch it back to the way you want it for both the 1st and 2nd halves, both at home and on the road, it will stay that way. Still, in big matches double check it just in case.

April 5th updated to version 2. See first post for details. See this thread for the method used to get computer controlled teams to attack more:

I copied everything to a USB. (First, I deleted all PES files off my PS3, then re-downloaded the 1.03 patch. DID NOT download and DLC.)

But when I put my USB in, the first file I see says "Corrupted". What am I doing wrong?

Also, is there a way to just do a massive copy? Or do you have go through each file and copy?

UPDATE:

Ok...I figured it out. In the ZIP file, there are 2 BLU***edit folders. Just make sure you have ONE folder with the subfolders.

Ah... My bad. I uploaded a new zip file that has only one edit file folder, so that shouldn't happen again.

And you can't copy multiple files. Weak, I know. I suggest trying out the edit file first before copying the kits, to see if it will even be worth your while.

What difficulty do you guys use? I've been using the position lock feature and playing on the diff level REGULAR. Before these edits, I would lose a game or two, now it seems I'm dominating too much.

Playing as Hungary against England. I'm winning 2-1 after the 1st half. If I jump to Professional, will it make that much of a difference?

I guess what I'm asking is, what is the "even" playing field of difficulty? (realistic)

Thanks!

What difficulty do you guys use...

This file is really only for Professional difficulty. In other words all the changes are based on how the AI plays on that specific level.

I tested things for Top Player too, and concluded that "Pressing" should be lowered... But just never made a file for that level.

My guess is there need to be changes for Regular difficulty, but I don't know what those would be.

I don't know... Try pro I suppose.

Wow. Just read the first post of this thread and saw the "tailored for professional diff". Think I need to take a vacation!

Sorry!

No there isn't. Keep trying though. No reason why it shouldn't eventually work.

May sound like a silly question... But are you sure you're doing it right? After you click download, unless you are a premium megaupload member you have to wait 45 seconds... Then click on "Regular download" to actually start the download.

Maybe you are not doing the last step???

Here... I've uploaded it to yousendit as well, available up to a week or 100 downloads, whichever comes first:

On the USB stick you need to have a folder labeled "PS3" and in that folder another one labeled "GAMESAVES" and then in that one put all the PES folders labeled "BLUS..." etc.

When you plug in the USB it should show up in the Game Saves section on the XMB. From there copy every file.

As noted in the first post of this thread, you may get errors if you have previously downloaded any PES content. If so delete everything having to do with PES 2010 from your hard drive (including the "Game Utility" section) and start from scratch.
