Simple idea I just thought of, why not have a stat generator for players in edit mode? Versions of FIFA editors used to have it, where you select a postion and then roughly how good you want them to be, and it would generate a set of stats.
Would make it possible to add teams and players much faster for those who didn't want to spend too much time in edit.
