PS3 PES 2010 Question

When Im playing, at the bottom of the screen next to the player I am controlling's name sometimes hand controller options appear - I mean suddenly I will see the triangle or the square etc highlighted.

Sorry if I didnt explain that very clearly or its been asked before but what does it mean ?

Those are strategy marks. If you have strategy changes set to auto in Game Plan -> Assisted Settings, the AI will turn them on or off as it feels necessary. You can assign four different strategies to the buttons in Game Plan -> Tactics -> Strategy, and you can also change their implementation to manual by switching the option in Assisted Settings to "off", where you have to hold L2 and press the button you assigned to the desired strategy in game. Manually controlled offside trap = win.
