Shooting by chippin the ball

wen i go to chip 4 goal i press R1 whilst shooting but the player passes it towards goal, i do it as it says in the manual?

I tried to shoot by holding the L1 button aswell but that just spoons it well over the bar

The technique is:

Shoot by holding Square.
When the power has risen a bit, to maybe halfway, tap R1.

I just shoot and immediately hold R1. As long as you press it while the power bar is still there and b4 the player connects with the ball it should work. Scored loads of chips, even a hat-trick of chips on a couple of occasions. They usually work brilliantly on Buffon and Barthez as they steam out all the time!

This R1 technique? I've not heard of it.

If you want to double tap [] then you need to turn it on in the Button Config. I find "dinking" it like this works best. L1 chips work well from a distance, for me. There's the sort of half-looping shots where you press back as you're about to hit it as well, isn't there?

The R1 chip is easily the best one, although double-tap is OK too. I never use L1 as unless you do it very softly it smashes over! The computer does a lot of awful L1 ones on me and fortunately misses most of them. Robbie Keane seems to be the worst at these.

I still don't I have the presence of mind to do it just like that. IRL it's the same though... it's the best players who have the vision to do things like that.
