I was playing FIFA10 today and after that I played FIFA World Cup 2010 game. I noticed that the commentators were different in the World Cup game and it was a nice change :)

So I was thinking why don't PES2011 (or FIFA11) have a number of different commentators? I think it would be a great idea!

So in one game you could have Jon Champion and Mark Lawrenson as the commentators, and then in the next game you go into you could have 2 different ones...

It might make the commentating a little less repetitive and it would be nice to see different ones.

What are your thoughts on my little idea?

Nice idea. I think they should also get different commentators or the different leagues! Lawrenson and co would not commentate on La Liga etc, so maye foreign commentators but in English they sound like foreign lol! What you think??

yh ummmm it great idea,... how about konami actually ...let say .. fix the commentry first .....or even imporve . that would be great. id just be happy if the commentry is like fifa 10 or wc.

It won't be impossible, in fact Brian Lara Cricket 2003 did exactly that. They had 6 different commentators, 3 pairs of 2 and each match will have one of these 3 sets. I really added quite a lot and made all the matches feel unique and different.

Well apprently there is a all new commentry less repatitive and fresh, id like new ones but if its the same ones but talking as if there acually watching the same match then im happy.

nice idea, but first they must replace this poor commentary with a spirited one.

Good idea, maybe instead of 2 sets of commentators, you could always have Jon Champion, but have 2 or 3 different co-commentators. It would be much easier to do as Konami would still only have to record all the player names once, but each co-commentator could say different things.

Thanks... Nice idea but I don't see that happening lol. I think it would be quite annoying to hear a Spanish commentator speaking English

I really do hope we see changes with the commentary for PES2011 though.

To the guys who said 'Fix the commentary first': Yeah I totally agree with that too

To be honest they should ditch Mark Lawrenson all together and get it either Chris Waddle or Joe Royle and keep it similar to ESPN like Fifa does with the Sky sports commentary team and World Cup ITV

Yes please. He's by far the best commentator out there and has been for a while. He also isn't as boring as what we have now, it would make PES 2011 a lot pleasing. :w00t

Jim Beglin replacing Mark Lawrenson! Here:

PES fans who have been calling for a Mark Lawrenson-free game rejoice... The once-mustachioed pundit won't appear in PES 2011, CVG has learnt.

Although previous PES commentator Jon Champion has been retained for the new title, Lawrenson has been replaced by ITV man Jim Beglin.

Some PES players have criticised Lawrenson in the past for sounding disinterested during play.

"We're keeping Jon Champion," European PES team leader Jon Murphy told CVG. "Lawrenson's delivery was a little forced at times. But that was partly him not living it in the studio and partly the way our scripts were written. Neither helped the other.

With Jon Champion we've always had someone who's better at ad libbing. We've not only changed one member of the commentary team - which I hope people will be really pleased about - but we've gone for a much more live effect with the sound generally.

"We've changed the scripts, the studios we use etc. So we have done a certain amount. I think we've done enough to improve the atmosphere. In addition, the menu screens are a lot less 'Japanese-y'; a lot less clunky than they have been in the past.

"Also, at the end of the day, how are you going to play PES most of the time? It's against mates and the biggest thing you'll hear will be you ripping the p*ss out of your friend because you've just scored a goal against him."

So glad they fired that moron Mark Lawrenson with his stupid obvious commentary observations 'that could of been the equaliser' 'he hit it with his right foot, know what I mean?!'

Didnt they listen when testing the game before it was released that commentary was shambles and amazingly made it worse and less diverse than pes2009. Well glad they have taken action and anyone will be better than listening to his drivel again.

On FIFA 09, you could download another comenatry duo and pre-match chose which 2 you wanted.

I think it would be kl if they had 4 comentators and alternated what games they commentated i.e. John and jim would do one game and 2 other commentators would do the next. Maybe you could unlock the extra commentators in the pes shop
