On evo web there is a bloke who says he has played the game back in april, he is dropping some crazy hints. Check this one out concerning the player invdiduality
"The pro passing, for those who are still unsure, is very much about bringing assisted passing in line with manual controls. Now the obvious thing there is that there's no point to such a system if you can just max up the power bar and control the ball immaculately as in FIFA 10. Let's just say that isn't going to be an issue.. "
the bottom line is, will the player stats really affect passing?

Any chance of mix-and-match kits be included? Or, it's just not possible due to licensing issues?
I would say it isnt possible due to licensing issues. Would be good though for games in Europe etc.
Good to hear they're putting a lot of work into improving player likenesses and the faces, I agree when the article writer says that's where PES still beats FIFA.
Have gameplay like the World Cup game and we're looking at a very tasty FIFA 11 indeed.
To buy fifa or PES. I think i may go with PES this year, as FIFA 10 seemed a little too easy to pass around as i play with Birmingham and you can switch the ball from the flanks as if it were barcelona.

I'll definately be keeping an eye on this, loved FIFA 10 and one of my biggest disappointments with the whole series has been editing options, and in some ways I think that's a good thing.
Demo in August/September? :D

Yeah I understand what you're saying here mate, on FIFA 10 I found I was beating people online using weaker teams and, if you read the article, it seems like this is what EA are working on getting rid of for the next game.
There are real ramifications for the player as well, as it's now more important than ever before to know your team and play to individual's strengths and weaknesses. Pick Premier League strugglers West Ham and it's likely you'll have to rely on Scott Parker's skills, placing every play through the industrious midfielder if you want to make them stick. One new feature underlines this, placing a paramount on skill levels.
Successful passing is now more dependent on player's skill, and a new Pro Passing system means it's now possible to over or under-hit balls. It's born from the criticism of the ping-pong passing and it makes a big difference; the pace of games is noticeably slowed, and now every move must be more considered. There's still room for flair and pace though, with the player's individual personalities again coming to the fore – the likes of Messi and Ronaldo will be able to turn on a sixpence, and will be full of the flicks and deft touches, while swerve passes, driven lobs and lofted through balls with back spin will all be possible.

to be honest, highly doubt ea have got the game to the point where passing with xavi is different to passing with john terry. If i ever play the demo, the 1st thing im going to do is play my cb's at cm to see if i can notice the difference.
Having said that, this idea that each player was so individual in pes that difference between a defender and a midfielder were huge is actually not true, the individuality in pes is greatly overrated.

FSB just released impressions: http://fifasoccerblog.com/blog/fsb-fifa-11-impressions/
All positive. The varieties of passes you can pull off is sweet. On paper the personality+ system can surpass Pes for player individuality this year. If both companies can deliver most of what they promised then we're in for 1 hell of a year and it'll be the start of an amazing new era for football gaming.

to be fair, we said exactly the same thing last year, and look how that turned out.
I remember Tech_Skill saying that the game was special, even though it hadn't been released yet. Then we argued for the whole afternoon. Then within a week of having it, Tech_Skill hated it.
Good times.
I'm not trying to take the piss. I just like walking down memory lane, you see. It's a nice place. Hindsight is awesome. I wish I had hindsight instead of present sight. Then I'd get all the decisions right. I'd probably rule the world in fact. I'd be more powerful than Superman. If you're still reading this, then you must be bored, as I'm just typing nonsense. Yeah.
Maybe for FIFA 11 I will actually get around to creating Virtual Pro and get into the club game scene. I enjoyed it in 09, but that was when you could play as the actual teams. Creating characters never amuses me in any game (Smackdown, UFC, other sport games, etc.)

So what's the deal with the custom nets in FIFA 11?
I saw you make a post about it in one of the threads in the PES 2011 forum. In fact, the same thread I told you guys to cut the FIFA 11 talk http://img.wrestlingforum.com/images/smilies/side.gif
If EA can get the player individuality to work they way they are advertising it for fifa 11, then pes will be in serious trouble...cause IMHO that is the ONLY thing pes still has on fifa.
Im hoping the whole player individuality will help with how the team plays. Im playing MM on Fifa 10 atm (legendary) and wolves are knocking the ball round like Barca. Playing balls inch perfect over my defence, perfect passes from one flank to the other and its quite annoying really.
Plus the keepers need to be improved. In the WC game they aren't too bad but in Fifa 10 they suck.
Plus the Refs are crap and always biased towards the CPU.

Playing PES 6 today i cannot comprehend how Konami managed to fuck up in the nature they have considering where they were at.
If anyone were to go back 3 or 4 years ago and say Fifa will manage to overtake Pro evoloution in a few years time, they'd most certainly turn out a laughing stock.
It still looks as if the game will maintain it's robotic and clunky characteristics for this years version... and hey if so, theres always Fifa.
It's starting to occur to me (excuse the delay) that the extremely fast, arcade like nature of PES is what sells in Asia and i don't think konami intend on changing their approach, that is, turning PES into a simulation and hence slowing the pace, Tweaking AI, implementing a system where fluid movement of players is present, etc
It's a big shame because PES had so much promise and potential... sigh :erm:

Nuggets Of FIFA 11 Info Emerge
What FSB has always tried to be is a one-stop place for news. With so many avenues for FIFA 11 news to emerge from, sometimes this focus can make sure everyone gets all the juicy info no matter what.
For example, take this piece of information brought to us by forum member Anthony. He grabbed this information from the official EA boards.
First of all Gary Paterson spoke about celebrations and the net editor. Community legend Glen Cooley elaborated on the celebrations, while talking about the new replay save feature.
First of all Gary on celebrations:
If you do not press any direction on the pad then the player will automatically run to the corner and play his trademark celebration, his teammates will run after him and interact.
And now on the net editor:
You can choose the tension (loose or tight) and also the shape (what it looks like when viewed from the side – square or triangle).
Its a small feature but one that was not too tricky for us to put in and one that I know some of the guys on here were interested in.
Now, Glen on the replay feature:
At the end of the match there is a screen which allows you to pick highlights throughout the game and save those highlights.
That’s how it was structured in what we saw. I would assume its the exact same for online.
And finally, his info celebrations:
And players will also be able to interact with teammates after scoring a goal. Producers told us the team is aiming to have more than 90 trademark celebrations in this year’s game.
Have to say, as someone who demands this sort of attention to detail, I’m in total awe at the prospect of what FIFA 11 will offer the entire football gaming community. This is going to be one special game.
Day 1 purchase, naturally.

Does that mean there isn't the crappy cut-scene celebrations? It was something that urked me when you scored in a box full of opposition and you own players, the box would suddenly be empty when the cut-scene started.
I'm going to be mad if they spent time making nicer nets and more zanier celebrations, when they should be making manager mode engrossing and realistic.
Talk is cheap. They've promised us an improved version for a while now and every year it disappoints.

Konami will really have to pull out all the stops this year if they want PES to be anywhere near FIFA in terms of quality. Indeed, EA seem to have taken a lot of PES's innovations i.e. customisable soundtracks and chants, and put them into FIFA. I can't wait for this game now.
Bloody hell, some of those sound good. I just hope they're implemented correctly. After all, this is EA who will only give us enough improvements to keep sales going and not everything they've done.
To me PES is dead.
Fifa 11 day one baby.
Those features sounds absolutely awesome.
Yeah, that features list is really tasty, EA seem to be pulling out the goods once again.
I like how they're going to make it so 'people wont be able to quit without your allowance'... this sounds like the death of quitters once and for all! :)
Everything else sounds good though to be honest. :w00t

I really don't see how this will be implemented.
Personality+, what? That's simply players attributes affecting the game, which they already do. This is not the individuality that I want to see, I think it needs additional touches. The news on different animations for how play dribble etc. is more intriguing.
But what if they turn their PS3 off? Or quit the game via PSN?
Good point.
That's what I like about XBL. If someone does quit you can leave them negative feedback and chances are you'll never meet them again.
My first game against a stranger on WC ended with him quitting despite it been a fairly even 1-1. He was France, I was Senegal. I was barging him off the ball all the time and I think he had enough and just left. Pointless.
I'll stick to playing people on my friend's list.
I'd like EA to put some sort of in-game tempo bar into this, allowing the player to change the pace of how you knock the ball around without the need to pause the game and change it in the team management screen.
Could have Slow, Normal and Quick and the next time the ball goes out of play would be the point where the change is made.

Some things I would like in FIFA 11.
Be able to select goalkeeper for virtual pro.
More leagues or more of the stronger teams from other leagues. For example, teams like Zenit, CSKA, Spartak Moscow, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dynamo Kiev should definitely be in the game. The Argentine league should probably be included. And maybe they should try and include some teams from more smaller leagues like Dinamo Zagreb, Hadjuk Split, CSKA Sofia, and some clubs from the Romanian league. Maybe include more African teams as they are not very well represented (Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are probably not even the best teams in Africa).
More customizable looks for your pro. I couldn't get a hair style like mine and my hair style isn't exactly uncommon. It would be cool if you can have certain parts of your hair dyed like I used to have my fringed dyed red and my hair blonde before and I will be getting the tips of my hair dyed red soon. Tattoos would be great although I can guess it would be unlikely and more headband options for longer hair.
I would also like if Be a Pro season would be more realistic for that position. For example, if I was playing right back, I would be required to score a goal, make sure we win the match and get a good rating which is quite hard when you are right back. I would find myself bombing out of position constantly regardless if I had the ball or not to get my goal and make sure we win the match. I think the targets should be more based on the individual player rather than targets that require the team to perform. Maybe even take what you did in the match and despite how you are doing for that position. Like how many times you caught a player offside, won the ball back for your team, blocked shots on goal or crosses, successful passes, assists, headers won. I would rather they took those statistics from a match and decide how well your pro played rather than "score a goal, win the match, get 8.0" as that can be unfair depending on the position.

I'd really like to see Be A Pro mode extended to 15 years instead of four and the ability to edit players such as in PES.
And bringing in the Master League instead of MM would be lovely.
For Manager Mode:
- I'd like to see clubs actually wanting to buy your players and pulling them instead of just showing some interest..
- Job offers from international teams and the ability to manage and play as that team, could then stick the Euro and/or World Cup's in there...
- Start unemployed and then simulate days until a job advert comes up/there's a team without a manager that interests you, you can then apply for the job and then see if that club wants you or not.
Make it so you choose your reputation at the beginning of the game, this would give players the choice of whether you want to work your way up, a more realistic approach, or start at the top and have fun...

Totally agree. I can think of some tasks right away for RB
Link up with the right winger (eg, have so many successful passes to a midfielder)
X amount of successful crosses in a game
X amount of interceptions
They could still be flawed, but nowhere near as flawed as have X shots on goal, score X goals. And achieve a rating of 8 when ratings are heavily influenced by goals

According to this, you can share your creations, and download user created stuff as well. Question is how many teams can you create? Anyways: bye bye PES.
PES who?
Can you do all this on the consoles, EASportsWorld.com is too much hassle with all the stuff you have to do to link your ea account to your gamertag.
Nah, its all on the pc TH.
Anyways: bye bye PES.
For sure.
No more manager mode or be a pro! Its all changed to Career mode now where you can be a player/player-manager/manager. Career is now 15 years not 4 years!
Russian footage, Very short but it does show john terry showing the new facial expressions! Skip to about 50 seconds to get to the good stuff.
It also shows the full 360o jostle system which looks pretty amazing. Apparently more than 2 players can jump up and battle to win the ball in the air. No more only 2 people jumping for the ball from corners/crosses/freekicks!

Also worth a read:
Having received lots of feedback about Manager Mode in FIFA 10 the development team have been hard at work to bring to life the experience that users requested. Based on this feedback and the many suggestions from fans across the world Manager Mode is now changing to become Career Mode and has been built from scratch for FIFA 11.
Play through a footballer's career as a player, player-manager and then a manager. A brand new transfer system brings the ups and downs of the transfer window to life while the new calendar system means it is easier to plan your career, manage your squad or experience the thrill of breaking your way into the first team.
Players created using the new Creation Centre will be available to download into Career Mode so if you want you and your mates to all be a part of your favourite team and then manage them to ultimate glory, now you can.
There is also now a friend's leaderboard so you can see how you stack up against them in terms of stats and earnings throughout your career.
So the big question is; Player, Player-Manager or Manager? The choice is yours.
Career Mode in a bit more detail
Here in the office I've been fortunate enough to get access to an early build of Career Mode (playing as a Player-Manager) and so far it is a big change from FIFA 10. Things seem a lot slicker and refinements in a number of areas are definitely noticeable. So far I've taken Man Utd to Community Shield victory against Chelsea, signed Chiellini and Thiago Silva to replace the ageing Ferdinand and had a bid accepted for Benzema although I'm still to confirm personal terms with the player. Yes, you did read that right, "confirm personal terms with the player". The transfer system is now a two-stage negotiation where you agree a fee with the club in question and then have to agree terms with the player themselves. I've already had the experience of the club saying yes and the player saying no (Higuain) as he didn't want to move country.
There are now a few more search options in the transfer market with you being able to search for a primary attribute and a secondary attribute and respective ratings for them.
The main interface has changed dramatically and now has the look of an online "news portal", a bit like www.premierleague.com. You have a couple of news stories on display working in rotation, league ladder and top scorers lists on the right, career rating on the bottom left and then your menu options top left. The associated screenshot highlights this layout and as you progress through Career Mode you will become more familiar with it.
When changing days between matches the calendar now has a daily view and will stop progressing if there is an important action happening such as an email from a team interested in buying your player or something from the Board. You can easily see when the cup matches are, friendlies, international matches and your standard league matches. When you do get to a match and opt to Sim it there are a few new elements here as well. On the left of the screen you get both line-ups including substitutes and on the right you get a ticker updating you with important events from the match and a summary of key events from other matches happening at the same time. When you score, your players collect cards or get injured the left side of the screen updates with the appropriate symbol so you can easily see who has done what and who has been subbed.
On the side of injuries they are still there and have been tweaked as well. I got two injuries during the first match I simmed both of which were of different lengths; one 82 days and one 27 days. I got a news item on the main screen after the match telling me so and an email from the Coach drilling it in that these players would be unavailable and that I'd need to change my team selection accordingly. Injuries can also happen after matches, I played the Community Shield against Chelsea and got an email notification after winning that Rooney would be unavailable for a period having picked up a knock. Overall there are three types of injury; those that happen but aren't severe enough to sideline a player (stats reduced but can still play), those that sideline the player for a short period as they are unfit to play and those major injuries that can put a player out of action for months.
I'm still getting to grips with all the ins and outs but so far the changes that I have noticed are great and I'm enjoying playing it in the office. Look out for another article in the near future once I've guided Man Utd to victory and started a career as just a Player.

Fingers crossed it plays as good as it sounds. After about a month or so I usually get bored with FIFA. Every match starts to feel the same.
The presentation and improvements to the career mode are looking very good. I remember I used to hammer the Master League on PES, but after about 5 seasons there was too many regens which completely ruined things for me. With FIFA's 30-odd leagues though, there'll always be new talent to sign.
The career mode layout looks alot easier than MM on Fifa 10. I havent even completed one season on Fifa 10 yet, i always get bored because of all the stupid little things like the crappy from thing and player stamina being completely shit one minute, next they're all fully fit.
Regarding the expressions on the players faces ive heard they change when they score/concede and ive also heard they screw up their faces when shoot a really hard shot.
Im trying not to get my hopes up too much as Fifa 10 was pretty shit MM wise but they have started from scratch with career mode so hopefully it is good. Looks like we'll just have to wait and see.
Videos are going to be coming out later on this week. Hopefully we get to see some gameplay ones as i would like to see what the speed of the game is like.
Looks and sounds like it might be the best football game ever.

It's looking quite promising, but no mention of being able to create your own original team in career mode is a huge disappointment again. That is the main reason to continue playing, you feel an affiliation to the club that you actually built. You should be able to alter your own teams strips to keep the mode refreshing, but unfortunately it seems EA have missed a trick, again.
In the above 6 minutes gameplay video, at 4:20 you can see Van Persie scoring, and although it's nice control from Van Persie, the defending is obviously very lacklustre. The defenders didn't handle the situation with any form of knowledge, they simply stood still for a second allowing RVP to turn and run toward goal. I'm being quite critical with my view, but if these actions a regular in the game then I can see it becoming highly irritating.
8 weeks to go and theres still no real official gameplay videos been released by EA. Anyone find that a bit odd? This time last year there were videos everywhere.
Wow. Looks like you can play full 11 vs 11 in clubs now! Yes you can play as the goalkeeper!

EA_PWride's second article about career mode. Sounds good tbh!
"Following the great reception for the first article about the FIFA 11 Career Mode I thought I may as well look to write this second one to add a bit more detail and talk around some of the other areas of the mode I only briefly touched on last time. Having now spent a bit more time with it I have finally started to get to grips with some of the ins and outs but that doesn’t mean I’ve mastered it by any means.
The first article started with a look at a Player-Manager career and I want to carry this on before I jump into the Player Career. So I managed to take Man Utd to FA Cup victory but only managed a 5th place finish in the league after simming all the matches to get through the season. Whilst there wasn’t a celebration or cutscene for winning the FA Cup what happened at the end of the season was quite interesting. I got a few emails from the board stating that they weren’t very happy with my performance during the season as I hadn’t met the objectives they set me (Top 4 finish). They did however offer me a contract extension on the basis that I had showed some potential and that hopefully what I had learnt from the first season would put me in with a chance for Season 2. The contract was offered and surprisingly I was also offered a contract offer by Man City at the same time. Tough choice being a Man Utd fan so I opted to stay where I was to see if I could build on my FA Cup victory from the first season. One thing I did notice as soon as I started the new season though (or rather the summer transfer period) was that my reputation had dropped down a bit and I was still a half-star manager. Looks like my failure to meet the board objectives for the first season have tarnished my reputation.
In the forums there have been some questions about transfers, training, player growth and a whole bunch of other things. To try and answer some of these here is what I experienced whilst playing; West Ham sold Matthew Upson to Sunderland and then made a bid on Paul Scholes when I put him on the market. I loaned some of my youth players out and you have the option to set for a 3 month loan or a season long loan. You can also cancel a loan if you want to bring them back at any stage but there is a penalty fee attached if you bring them back early. In the build that I am playing there doesn’t look to be an option to offer cash and a player or do a player exchange when negotiating to buy a player. There is a plus side though with the two-tiered transfer system, you can now be outbid and “sniped” when making transfers. Given that you have to first get the club to accept a bid and then discuss terms with the player the club could accept two bids and you could still lose the player if they accept personal terms from a rival.
Player growth does happen, I had a series of emails from the coach telling me that a player had improved, and those that were getting older were losing their overall rating (Giggs went down by a point over the course of the season). I also got emails telling me that a player had hit form and suggesting that I should include them in my line-up for the next match or give them a bit more responsibility. On the player growth screen you actually get comments from the coach like “Has reached his potential, isn’t going to grown anymore” or “could develop quickly if given game time”.
Given that this is completely new code and doesn’t borrow from FIFA 10 there are a couple of things that have been stripped to ensure that this fresh start for Career Mode lives up to expectations. For now there are no training options, or those to improve your stadium, negotiator, coaches etc. One of the new elements when it comes to budget and transfers though is the “Budget Allocator”, you can change the proportion of your budget allocated to transfer fees and to player wages based on a sliding scale. So I may start with a 80/20 split with £50 Million to spend and £200K wage budget, change the slider to 60/40 and that may be £40 Million to spend and £250K wage budget. This gives some flexibility if you are trying to buy specific players but haven’t got the wages to cover it, or don’t need the wages and want a bit more free cash. There is a limit however, when doing this you get the notification this is only available 3 times so you need to make your decisions wisely.
Playing Career Mode as a Player
Having flirted with Player-Manager I thought I better get to grips with what it is like in the Player Mode, what was essentially Be a Pro Seasons in FIFA 10. For this I created my VP, the fantastically named C. Elito and joined Arsenal for a bit of a change. I got the option to take long socks or short socks, shirt tucked or untucked, ankle tape or no ankle tape and a few others when creating my VP and I think I can go back and change them at a later date if I get bored of how he looks.
When I jumped into the friendly matches before the season started I had a 0/8 rating as a “Prospect” and was given the opportunity to play all the matches to show the Manager how good I was. Things didn’t quite go to plan, I managed to get reasonable ratings but didn’t score in any of the matches so my rating stayed at 0/8. I did however get an email from the coach telling me that one of my team mates had been injured in one of the friendly matches along with notification of how long he would be absent for, quite a nice touch I thought.
Moving to the first game of the season I was picked to start against Man Utd playing alongside Fabregas and Co. The game ended in a draw, 1-1, with Fab scoring a penalty I created by bustling my way into the box but overall my performance wasn’t great. After the match I got an email from the Manager letting me know that although I played well I wasn’t yet ready for the limelight and that I wouldn’t be playing the next match. I advanced through the days and had to sim the next match, and the one after that, and the one after that so much like in real life, if you don’t take the opportunities presented with both hands you will spend time on the sidelines watching. I need to make sure that next time I get to play I score a hat-trick and then see what the Manager has to say.
Other bits and pieces
I’ve also dabbled with the pure Manager element of Career Mode and this leans quite heavily to what you experience in Player-Manager however the playing element is a little different. You can still do transfers, select the team, alter the formations and have the board challenges to go against but when playing matches you control the whole team as you did last year. There is also no option to create a player or VP and have them as part of your squad. I guess this is where the line is drawn between the 3 elements of Career Mode. Player Mode you can play as your VP, get accomplishments and develop aiming for individual and international glory whilst Player-Manager you have the stresses and strains of management whilst also being able to develop a VP if you want to. All 3 have playing options in them but they each differ; Player Mode has you playing in the BAP camera mode controlling just your VP or the full team, Player-Manager has you playing in a traditional camera view (although you can change it) and who you control depends on the management decisions you make, put yourself in the starting line-up and you will only control yourself, leave your playing self off the starting 11 and you can control the whole team. As a Manager you control the whole team in the traditional kick-off style."
Nice to see Kaka in the front..

I read somewhere that Fifa 11 on the Wii is gonna have a 5-a-side mode where you play in a school playground or something. Can anyone confirm this as true or alternatively as false?
EA Sports will stuff a comprehensive Street mode into the Wii version of FIFA 11.
This five-aside tangent uses a smaller pitch (indoor and outdoor) with a wall. And said wall can be used for jumping off or playing passes off.
There's an arcade game-type that features a power bar which, once filled, can unleash super-shots, bursts of speed, shockwaves, shoulder charges, "big versus little" and "more".
Street locations vary from Brazil to London to France. You'll be able to tinker with the rules a bit, too, altering match types - Tug of War, First to Score - and even how big the goals are and where they should be: mini-goals, wall goals and elevated nets are examples given.
EA has made significant changes to the main 11 versus 11 game. There's a brand new attacker versus defender trick system that quickly and easily commands rainbow flicks, 360 degree spins, scorpion kicks and other eye-catching moves. Shot controls have been mapped back to the Wiimote buttons, and there are new animations and shot types: blast, finesse, chip and tip.
User-controlled celebrations are in (including secret ones), too, and there's support for two versus two online play.
A managerial mode is also sandwiched in, and performing well will boost your team's stats whereas losing will have the opposite effect.
Teams span 30 licensed leagues, which roughly pans out to 500 teams and around 15,000 players.
FIFA 11 will be released on 1st October in Europe.
Here.

Sake, why didn't they include it in the PS3/360 versions too? I've been wanting to see a 5-a-side back in Fifa since they had it in Fifa 97 and also since playing the jumpers for goalposts mode in This Is Football 2002.
New Video is out! Be a GK confirmed which means 11 vs 11 online.
Demo is in 4 weeks, 16th september

EA Sports has revealed that all 22 players on the pitch can be controlled in FIFA 11, including - for the first time ever - the goalie.
This feature will only be available in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
The goalie will be introduced via a Be A Goalkeeper mode, which has three levels of AI assistance as you find your feet. You can also play as a goalie during the Career mode or create yourself as a goalie in Virtual Pro 2.0.
FIFA 11 will be released on 1st October.
Like the sound of that.
EA also announced a 16th September date for the FIFA 11 demo.

I remember having the option to control the goalie in the very first ISS...it was hilarious (and frustrating). The amount of times people mistimed a jump, only for the ball to go under them.
Graphics and overall presentation look much better. I have high hopes this year. I'm sure I read they had improved corners though? Still looks like only 2 players jump for the ball.
Also.. About time!

Still looks a lot better than what PES seems to offer in my opinion. I tried playing PES10 some more for old time's sake, and it still feels really bad to me :(

No more 5ft goalies in Clubs online! :D
and at 3:43mins the leagues on the picture are
Premier League - K-league - Bundesliga - Polish League - Dutch
French - Scottish - Brazilian - Swiss - Belgian
A-league - Portugal - Norway - Football League - Mexican
2.Bundesliga - Spanish - Swedish - Czech - Turkish
Russian - Irish - Danish - American
Looks like a great addition. Will be interesting to see how well the mechanics work with the controller in my club-like mitts!
Edit: not sure about yelling to your players though... seems a bit weird.
Haha yeah, it looks very good; one concern I have with this is that online 'Clubs' players will find spots to place the goalie, in a spot, so no matter how hard you try you won't be able to score. But I'm hoping EA make the goalkeeping side of Clubs this year enjoyable and not so who goes in net for the Club is a bad thing.
Looks easy to beat the 'keeper by using a fake shot...
Looks like exactly the same game to me, only with improved graphics.
I just hope they fix the manager mode glitches.

Perhaps. I just hope we're able to do Schumacher-style complete take-outs of opposition players when they're through on goal.

I can see many a injury if that's possible.
So is everyone buying this on release then? I'm not too sure just yet myself, it's probably going to depend upon the price. I enjoyed FIFA 10 (sold it a month or so ago while I could still make a fair amount of money before FIFA 11 is released), but I'm not sure what the retail prices are set to be. No doubt HMV and the like will be charging £35-40, but realistically I'm hoping a supermarket like Asda will be pricing it at around £28 for it's opening few days like they do with quite a few big game releases. If anyone catches word of this, they'll obviously receive rep and mucho respect.
Day 1 for me.
PS3 most likely.

Last year Asda had FIFA 10 at £25 for like the first week of its release, so I'm guessing (and hoping!) that it'll be £25 again this year.
If it is, I'll let you know pal
Gonna be a release day buy for me too... Just hope the Asda down the road from me isn't sold out, it's open 24 hours a day :/

fk sake no bayern ??
anyone got details about manager mode ? i'm in the year 2022 and i've won leagues in england, italy, germany, holland, spain and turkey.
Santon has been my star man, i've brought him to every club with me except my 2 year stunt in turkey.
MM has been replaced with Career mode. This is to get rid of all those awful bugs (i think there was 70+). Now when you start career mode you can choose between Be a Pro, Be a player Manager or Manager.
Its better off if you read the CM Bloke's blog:

little things like that bring a smile to my face !
It sounds good but im still a little hesitant as he bigged up MM in 10 and it turned out a pile of shit. But im hoping they really get their ass into gear because career mode is where i like to spend most my time.
But by the looks of it its shaping up to be a good game. Looking forward to the demo.
Edit:
Apparently gamesmaster review has given Fifa 11 94/100 stating that "its the best football game ever".

Looks good. Means I won't have to toy with tempo settings like I had to on WC 2010. Trezeguet and Diego still at Juventus? I hope this isn't too recent.
Yeah I wondered that too. Barca and Juve are both going to be playable in the demo (which comes out next wednesday for PS3 & 360) so it'll be pretty stupid if EA haven't made a few little player transfers like that. Surely they're not that sloppy? ><
You gonna be up for Clubs again this year, Orig?

Just go down your local supermarket and pre-order/reserve your copy for release day.
That's what I've done at my local Asda this year - first year they've started doing it - and they save you a copy so not all of them are taken at midnight.
It'll be £30 at most on release day in Asda, probably the same in Morrisons; was £25 at Asda last year but with the pre-ordering now in place it'll be a bit more I guess.

Only kidding, I nicked this from a thread over at the EA UK Forums.
Berry, would you mind putting them in order of highest to lowest? I think it'd be easier to read.
I was about to say that they're in alphabetical order anyway, but you are fucking kidding, right? ¬_¬

Of course. I just wanted to see his response. But he went offline after I posted (I guess) and now it's ruined.
Thanks Baddar!

Looks great, usually I spend all my time on the game playing online (whether that be Clubs or head-to-head matches) but this Career Mode is looking a lot more promising and better than Manager Mode has ever been up to now.

How to unlock Arsenal for the FIFA 11 Demo
1. Sign in to facebook and make a squad on FIFA Superstars
2. Go through the tutorial steps
3. Once you have done the above there should be a little box that says FIFA 11 on the side and some information click that
4. Enter your gamertags EA e-mail and password
5. You have unlocked Arsenal for FIFA 11
You will know when you have unlocked them because an image like this will appear
http://i55.tinypic.com/o7ionb.png
If your going to do that though i'd do it quickly (only takes 2 mins). They keep taking away the fifa 11 box that you have to click. I tried last night and it didnt work but it worked for me this morning.
I think you can unlock them in the demo another way anyways. It will probably be something like win 15 matches.
I did it the other day no problems.
Nice one mate, just done it myself.

Don't agree with Lumplard being a higher overall than Gerrard :/ Everything else seems decent enough though.

Some additions aren't as welcome though. For the first time handballs are introduced, and it's unsurprisingly infuriating especially given the frequency with which it occurs. Penalties are often given against you through no fault of your own, and if we weren't so placid (or, more truthfully, sedated by the blend of warm beer and mounds of melted cheese we'd just imbibed) we'd have destroyed a controller or two. Thankfully it's optional and defaulted off. We'd recommend you leave it that way.
priceless info ! that means online handballs will be off, which is good
Handballs are offline only. Three settings Off, On but not in the penalty box and on. I will test it with it on but most probably turn it off.

Definitely hand balls on for me too. Wasn't it in an earlier one? I always found it annoying when you could clearly see it hit a player on the hand and well.. nothing.
Don't agree with Lumplard being a higher overall than Gerrard :/ Everything else seems decent enough though.
Of course he was going to be higher than Gerrard. FIFA tries to be as current as possible. Gerrard hasn't done shit for the whole year, while Lampard was banging in goals left, right and centre and topping assist charts.
Handballs are a good addition. Too many times you see the ball hit a hand and it's obviously ignored cause there is no option for it. I just hope they have handball in the boxes too. I remember PES3 had handballs, but not in the box.
BarnDoor
10-09-2010, 14:42
I wonder if handballs on the line will result in red cards?
Yeah, handballs on for me aswell. Of course if one of your defenders does it that is unfair but on FIFA 10 there'd be occasions where the ball would strike a player on the arm and it wouldn't be given, so EA's gone in the right direction here for the realism aspect.

Again, I'm thinking the same, but I've always thought the updated features, kits, leagues has been worth the money. And the added improvements should seal the deal.
All assuming the demo is good, but it could be a bit of a step back and I'd still play it.

me too , but how long it takes ?~
On PS3 it can take ages..
Mines on 15% on xbox, I've got PES queued up after it aswell!
Anyone played the demo yet?
I've just got in so downloading now.
I can't be arsed, it really does look the same.
Been playing it for a few hours, it feels alot different to Fifa 10 imo, it's a bit slower and the passing takes a while to get used to but other than that it's a brilliant game, flows so nicely.
Cool, on 51% at the moment so not that long to go now I don't think. Started downloading like 15 mins ago.
You unlocked Arsenal for your demo, TH?
I personally find it samey but more challenging which is a good thing. Wouldn't say there's much if any difference with the graphics, this may be due to me not being able to find my glasses. Nevertheless I'll buy it.
Downloading PES11, I'm interested to see what they have to offer.
Nah not yet, you have to win 5 matches to unlock them or do the thing on facebook, but I cba to do the facebook thing!
Penalties are pretty hard!

Quite right.
The gameplay is very similar, just smoother and a touch more responsive. The graphics and lighting look nice in-game though which is always a positive. The gameplay feels a bit too fast though, and would be great if it was slowed down by a notch or maybe two. So all in all, it's a smoother and nicer experience but does feel like it's a bit too fast.
Also, the penalty system is broken so that needs to be fixed. I'm not quite sure what they've done but it's pretty confusing. The CPU beat me 1-0 during the end of game penalty shootout, with every other shot going very wide.
The menu systems seem a bit too similar though, especially the formation menus, they're almost identical. The gameplay is the case of "don't fix what's not broken" but the menus should always be updated and changed somewhat just to feel fresher. The formation and strategy options seem quite limited and lacklustre as usual compared to PES.
I agree about the penaltys, I have no idea what I'm doing and whenever I try to aim it anywhere but the middle it goes over or wide.

They're like the ones from the World Cup, with the composure bar at the bottom. Also, the longer you hold the direction then the further in that direction they'll go.
I'm loving it..
Penalties, just like the WC game.
PES11, dear ol' dear.:shocking:
I've had a few people on facebook saying PES is better....
All of who I know are massive FIFA geeks.
Interesting.

15-09-2010, 20:36
I don't hold much stock in demos as the short two minute half match play nothing like proper matches. That said, this looks very promising. Good gameplay with more realistic physicality and passing. Better menu systems, particularly for browsing player statistics. The penalties are actually very good once you get used to them and are far more realistic than the previous semi-random ones. Not a great leap from Fifa 10, but 10 was already very good and 11 seems to have gone a long way to fixing many of the annoying 'features' of 10.
The demo feels very similar to the World Cup game. But for me, that's good because I really enjoyed that game.
I've only played a few matches so far and in fact, I've only scored one goal - a great free kick with Drogba. Haven't conceded any yet.
Looking forward to the full game.
I played the PES demo and was thinking, wow this is really improved, I actually quite like this...
Then I put the FIFA one on.
This game is going to be incredible. How fun is it controlling the goalie?!
It just feels so fluid and natural. It's hard to score, and will take some getting used to I think. Can't wait for this game to hit the shelves.
I'm loving it..
Penalties, just like the WC game.
PES11, dear ol' dear.:shocking:
Is that a good or bad thing? I'll be downloading this game later and give my thoughts on it. For now all I can say is though it looks quite similar to FIFA 10, the passing has been tweaked in order to avoid those annoying 1-2 passes that result in a one-on-one opportunity. Can't tell if the game play is slower or faster from videos but it looks a bit more sharp. Graphics have been improved but just by a bit. I will share more later..
As for PES 11 well this could be very interesting, I have to download their demo as well and see how its like. I have never bothered with PES 09, 10 but this one has a different aura to it. Could just be the game that screams "We are fucking back!". We'll see...
I've deleted the PES demo from my hard drive, I just found amazingly boring after playing Fifa, which is a sad thing because I used to be in love with PES.
I've also now unlocked Arsenal and The Emirates and can say I'm enjoying this demo alot more now because of that :)

I found PES to be quite enjoyable...but it still didn't feel right.
The one thing that used to stand out in PES was you KNEW who you were looking at and moving the ball with? Does anybody understand me? Neither FIFA or PES have this. It's unfortunate because FIFA genuinely just feels like every player is the same except some can run faster.
I've been playing the PES demo more to be honest. Maybe more so because it's improved on a larger scale than FIFA has from FIFA 10 (don't fix what's not broken obviously), but possibly because I think PES is rekindling the magic it once had.
I just tend to get bored of FIFA if I'm not playing against a friend, whereas with PES I can play single player for a while - especially master league as I love creating my own team, emblem, kits etc, and then leading them to the promised land. Last year I played PES 2010 single player but FIFA 10 online, and I've a feeling that will be the same situation, providing of course PES fail again online. If they can pull off online play as perfectly as PES6 was and FIFA 10 was, then I'm really not sure I'll be paying FIFA 11 as much attention this year.
Oh, I'm currently playing against Juventus as Chelsea, and I scored a free-kick with Drogba (the free-kick system is still too easy), but the music that plays when you score and the replay is shown has carried on for the past 5 minutes. It's just playing in the background quietly behind the commentary on a loop. Man is it annoying this song.
The one thing that used to stand out in PES was you KNEW who you were looking at and moving the ball with? Does anybody understand me? Neither FIFA or PES have this. It's unfortunate because FIFA genuinely just feels like every player is the same except some can run faster.
Oh I know exactly what you mean. It's very evident from the replays though in PES that player individuality is still present, I noticed it especially during a replay of Messi and Ribery both chasing after a loose ball. If you're not noticing it as much, I really think it could just be down to the new default camera angle being more distant, and obviously more difficult to appreciate the detail and player individuality - while on the flip side it allows better vision over the field and obviously the new passing system shines as a result. It's just one of those things, and I'm sure once released, you'll be able to zoom in a bit again.
I found PES to be quite enjoyable...but it still didn't feel right.

Yes and I think it is still better in PES but not like it used to be. If your refering to just the look of the player. If your talking about the individuality I still think it is much better in PES
I have to say though so far I prefer the PES demo over Fifa and I haven't felt that way the last couple of years.
I got more satisfaction when scoring on PES demo than I did with FIFA. Could very well be because I know how to play FIFA these days and PES feels totally different to when I last played it.
Oh by the way, if you go to game settings before kick off you can change what the nets look like and how tight they are and you can turn handballs on and off.
You guys playing on Legendary on FIFA 11?

Yeah I am, it's really solid, only scored a few goals in open play up to now, I'm liking it a lot though.
Loving using Arsenal at the minute too; Song's a beast in the middle, Walcott's deadly down the right and Chamakh's so epic in the middle it means Super Robin starts on the bench for me most games.
Not to mention Koscielny and Vermaelen are unstoppable at the back :D
If anyone scores any nice goals, make you upload 'em and share in here
Oh by the way, if you go to game settings before kick off you can change what the nets look like and how tight they are and you can turn handballs on and off.
Indeed. I chose "loose" net settings hoping they'd be like the 2002 World Cup ones, which were really loose and wavy, I was disappointed. Still, it's nice to have some options there.
Yeah I am, it's really solid, only scored a few goals in open play up to now, I'm liking it a lot though.
Agreed. Scoring is a challenge. The limited time plays a part in it, but it is a lot of fun.
Is it just me or is Ronaldo a lot taller than he was in FIFA 10? I was playing as Madrid one game and I was expecting Ronaldo to be much sharper and zippy on the ball.
Kaka' on the other hand is just over-rated. Certainly no justification on how last season went for him, just because he's one of the 'cover players'.
Celebrations are much cooler now - team-mates mobbing the scorer - I scored with Messi earlier and Dani Alves just came up to him and pushed him on the ground... Quality
I wish they had play 5 minute halfs as an unlock.
Mr. Villa's very excited after scoring this :D

I'm determined not to step down from Legendary though, this time last year I probably would've. This time the demo's much funner to play, as the AI is actually intelligent now :w00t
How do you do the players actual celebration?
How do you do the players actual celebration?
You hold :x: for the players' signature celebration.
So if you score with say Kaka and hold :x: he'll point to heavens like he does in real life and then either get intercepted by one of with team mates or do one of the finishing moves.

How many real player celebrations are in. Does anyone know?
If Cahill's isn't, I riot.
I heard somewhere it's only set to very known players, not 100% sure though.
Just noticed that there's a new pass this year, a long bouncing pass. To do this you just press :R1: + :square:
An example the driven pass used to switch play (not very well mind):

Yeah I noticed this earlier when I was looking through trying to figure out penalties as it kept going miles wide or over. I'm loving that pass though, especially passing it across the defence, it's a much quicker and smoother way to switch wings.
Fuck me. The hand balls are gash! Ive had 4 penalties (1 for me, 3 to the AI) and ive only played 75mins of the game (2 min halfs). Rather annoying tbh! Especially as one hit sagna in the chest! and the third one hit the freekick wall but it came off Koscielny's neck/face.
Yeah, I've had it on for a few games and here's a penalty I had given against me,

Scored my first hat-trick with Ronaldooooooooooooooo!
Starting to get the hang with the new style of play now. Goals are coming more frequently.
Kaka in for Canales, Di Maria in for Leon and Real Madrid are a very good side on this. Kaka is amazing.
I find Higuain to be better at headers than Ronaldo which is strange, nevertheless Ronaldo's more about power than skill on this game I feel. He's not as skillful on it as say Kaka or Messi, but still a beast
While I'm really enjoying taking people out with brutal slide tackles on this, it's quite easy to tackle people now. My games consist of more tackling and strength as opposed to skill and passing.
Get hold of Pique or Song or Carvalho and you can just bomb forward and put slides in and 9 times out of 10 you'll pull it off and win the ball back.
Is it just me?
Apparently there's a way of making half length longer, quoting someone off the EA forums here's what you do...
So I dunno if this is a glitch but I discovered it. When the demo asks you "what is your skill level", do beginner (I have never played a football game) option. For some reason, it makes the halves more like 4 minutes long, and it isn't because the game speed is set to slow or anything. So if you want a longer demo just do that and then go into your controller options and set your manuals/semis/assisted accordingly (it defaults them all to assisted cause its on beginner mode) and change your difficulty. Longer demo! Woot!

Thanks mate, Its a great game, really opened my eyes to be honest because i've always shunned FIFA (largely because they refused to make a decent game for PC) but this is awesome, i was just a bit gutted because on amateur its just like shooting practice the opposition don't even attempt to tackle you, i walked from one end of the pitch to the other with Lloris for gods sake.
Figured out how to get it up to Professional now, you just have to keep resetting the settings back to default in-game. Anybody know if you can alter the looseness of the nets on the final PC version, because thats also something you can do one the consoles, and not on the demo on the PC ? Thats also something that has bugged me since FIFA 2000, you hit a ball as hard as you can into the nets and its like hitting a brick wall, no movement whatsoever.

Tried the new Career Mode yet, guys?
Who's likely to be the few 5* teams that everyone will be using in head-to-head's online?
I've pre-ordered mine already and my game will be coming with an early access of "Creation Centre". Not sure what it is actually, would someone care to enlighten me? :)
Can't wait for the game, it's so near now.
Just by doing a quick search on Google:
Players can craft their own football player and create the team of their dreams using a web-based application at www.easportsfootball.com. Create a player by choosing his appearance, accessories and attributes and then create an original team with a distinctive crest and kits, complete with home stadium.
Fans will be able to share their created players and teams with friends and download into their console to play online, in Tournaments and in Kick-Off matches in FIFA 11. In addition, fans can choose player attributes and manage theicreated team’sElectronic Theatre Image formations and tactics right from the web. Creation Centre will launch when FIFA 11 is available in stores on September 28th 2010, in North America and October 1st in Europe and Asia.
“Having the ability to customize content in FIFA 11 to the degree where you are creating players and teams, choosing player attributes and managing team tactics effortlessly from the web opens up a world of possibilities of original content that fans will be able to create,” said David Rutter, Producer of FIFA 11 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. “Creation Centre will perfectly compliment the official league and team licenses that are the hallmark of the FIFA franchise.”
Also new this year in FIFA 11 is Custom Audio, which enables fans to assign chants for every team and league in the game. Fans can set their home club’s chants to play during player introductions, halftime, and after goals – even hearing their name echo in the stands of Old Trafford or San Siro with created chants for their Virtual Pro. Plus, fans now have the ability to play music from their hard drive in game.

Thanks a lot, Berry! Its quite similar to the Master League of PES or to FIFA's Ulimate Team to an extent.
No problem man, and yeah you could say so. Gay thing is though you can't use a created team in Career Mode :(
Master League will always be better in my eyes for that ;)
I'm buying PES this year purely for online Master League :D

I looked at it briefly but did not really play.
There are 3 options Player, Manager and Player/Manager. If you do player it uses your VP or a real player. When you start a game you have the option of playing just as your player or as the whole team. If you do Manager it is like the old MM. I assume Player/Manager is a mix of both. I don't know for sure but I assume if you do just player you may not have control over transfers etc.

I've been using the creation centre, and the crests and kits have absolutely nothing over PES's edit mode. You pick from default kits and crests, and change the colours. You change the font of the names on the back (or if you want names or not) and that's about it.
The create a player on there, and team tactics, are just converted onto a web application, not much difference from the game, except there are a lot more traits to choose from (such as making a player a diver, or arguable with referee's)
One that I did like, was changing attacking and defending workrates. This is a really good step towards player individuality, and there's also a dive-in trait for defenders and aspiring Cattermole players
Just checked my order status on Play.com and its already packing so hopefully its shipped today.
I'm loving the graphic improvement compared to Fifa 10 and it feels so much more realistic. As far as i can see most areas have been tweaked, passing seems so much smoother, animations, the lot. I must of played about 25 games on the demo compared to about 2 on the PES demo, and haven't got bored yet.
I'll still buy PES because i'm a mug, as i'm hoping the final game is an improvement on the demo which was just too frustrating to play.
9.5/10 IGN
8/10 Eurogamer
Even if those sites gave FIFA 11 lets say a 7.5/10, I'm still too excited and can't wait to get it.

Me too. I think AC Milan will be one of them, too.
I got the game and I love it so much! The Be a Goalkeeper feature is where my real attention has been drawn and I think its fantastic.
I've had two friendlies so far - Newcastle v. Celtic & Hercules v. Lille. I wanted to test the gameplay. One game was in rain and the other was on a dry night. I've been impressed. I would say that its not more of a revelation from FIFA 10 but more of a polish, and an extremely good polish at that. It is the little things in this game that I noticed and appreciate. I have yet to try the online features or the career mode but I'll try it later.
So far a quick review
+
Be a Goalkeeper - controls may be limited but its a very enjoyable experience
Gameplay - top class; just like FIFA 10 but tweaked and is now much better
The passing and jostling effects have elements of realism in it
Weather - (rain as mentioned) played a role in my match. I tried long passing from one side to the other but the ball swerved a lot that I couldn't control my passes. My goal was a slippery affair - I fired in a shot and from the deflection of the goalkeeper it crept very slowly into the net that the opposing defender almost cleared the ball!
Difficulty - I did win both my friendlies but were through a 1-0 scoreline. I find it much more difficult to make precise passes and to break down the opponent's defense. I was so used to the "ping-pong" passes of FIFA 10 but its quite hard to attempt it here. You really have to work your way out to get a man free.
Newer cut-scenes - not the same old rubbish previously
Team celebrations - I like how you can interact with your team mates when you have a goal. I scored a goal with Ameobi and big Campbell pulled me down while I was running away to celebrate
-
National teams - seeing how WC2010 preceded this game, I am disappointed with the lack of national teams, it is basically the same from FIFA 10
Captain's armband - it's still on the substitute player already before the original captain goes out (long-time issue)
Unrecognizable faces - for the lesser teams like Hercules (apart from Trezeguet & Valdez) I couldn't identify the player if I hadn't known their names
Referees - you can pick a certain referee based on his leniency or strictness. I picked someone strict and even the slightest muscle collision equals a foul. However I picked a more lenient ref in my next match and he gave a lot of advantages.
Overall, I really like the game and I'm sure most of us here will. I can't wait to try it online and eventually develop my Pro and join our club!

I agree. It is especially cool in Be a Pro if you set up a goal or something and go grab the player. Been having fun with that. I set up a goal the other day with my Pro and i ran over and knocked the player down too. It was cool :D

Anyone know whether the crowd chants you add to certain teams are effective online as well?
Something I've wanted to ask for a while now but haven't got round to doing it...
There were cut-scenes on World Cup game showing managers, and they all had their appearances spot on... Is this the case in FIFA 11?
Is Capello in there as emotionless as ever, and is Sir Alex in there gobbing off at the 4th official every 2 minutes, and chewing his gum?
Wish it would be that animated as well but no. No signs of any managers club or country in the game.

Just put the sound file on your PS3, then go into My Music and Chants (found in My FIFA 11), Custom Music and Chants, Leagues & Teams. Select the club you want and then you can add sound files for:
When they enter the pitch
When they score
When they win
When they lose
And a chant that just happens anytime

I started to find that annoying and switched it off. One thing I would like carried over though, is when they informed you of the results of other matches in your group. That would be great if the Premier League winner (and relegation) was decided on the last day.
