View Full Version : WWE Raw [Put Spoilers in Tags]
Discuss all things Raw in this thread.
"A month from now, you may just be a great white shark patrolling around an empty butt-hole!"
Should add the roster to the first post. A who's who of WWE for the newbs. :shifty:
I only realised that he said that from the thread on WF. Sheamus' reaction was great
Who are we thinking is going to replace R-Truth?
I'll add the roster, champions, etc later.
Who are we thinking is going to replace R-Truth?
Zack Ryder probably. I wouldn't mind a Nexus 'play-off' between the 6 members (not Barrett obv.) to gain the final spot.
Mark out moment of the century for smarks if they kept it a mystery til the PPV, Final Countdown hits and Danielson appears. :joel:

I'd be annoyed if it was Ryder. I see nothing from the guy at all. So generic.
If that happened and he actually came out as Danielson (not Bryan), it would be an awesome moment.
I would actually mark if HHH came out
Aye, I don't see anything special about Ryder. I don't even like his music (and I love camp tunes!)
Makes no sense for Trips to return for that. From his point of view, he'd want revenge on Sheamus (which he could get by winning MITB and cashing in). But from the WWE point of view of making a new star; won't happen. Maybe he'll return after the cage match :>
Ryder is great and (Woo woo woo) you know it!
That 4-way for the US title the other month proved he can go in the ring. And his attire and personality is something different from a lot of the drones clogging up the mid-card.
If they turned him into a full blow Jersey Shore-type character, he'd be gold.
And what would a Jersey Shore-type character be exactly? A cunt? :faceplm:
Btw, he doesn't even have that lame attire anymore lulz.
And what would a Jersey Shore-type character be exactly? A cunt? :faceplm:
Btw, he doesn't even have that lame attire anymore lulz.
Exactly, imagine the heat!
He still wears the sweet headband too.
I gave Ryder time, but I just don't see anything. He doesn't really excel in any area. Average in the ring, on the mic and acting skills.
I guess what is good for him is that he is young, so if they want to invest in him, they have time.
Have they explained why NXT don't attack SmackDown yet?
Arn's speech to Sheamus the other night suggested the entire company was at risk if these pack of rouges have their way BAH GAWD, but they only ever attack RAW.
And any ideas who the new GM could be?
And any ideas who the new GM could be?
Latest rumour was Abraham Washington. That would be the most excruciating decision (possibly ever) I've seen creative come up with. The kids have forgotten his existence, and adults try to forget his existence.
The on-going mystery is just bound to end in a failure. It has to be someone HUGE.

Awesome.
Yeah, I marked for that. Again on Sunday only this time from a ladder, please.
New blog live @ wwe.WWEUniverse.com/JimRoss. Provide some thoughts on MITB. I'll not be in Tulsa 2nite but will be watching. Surprise awaits
What could it be?!
I thought maybe HBK at first.
Also spoiler for tonight's main event;
Supposedly Orton vs. Jericho vs. Edge. Winner faces Sheamus at SummerSlam
I'm glad I didn't read JR's comment before seeing what the surprise was.
I was pissed. I was thinking it definitely has to be
AmDrag
What a complete let down :(
I was more disappointed with Cena's dream team. Bret and Khali? Really?
And where does this leave Miz? I'm guessing a feud with Bourne over the US title? Or maybe he'll cash in after Orton beats Sheamus?
I'd mark my balls off is Danielson returned to feud with him. :joel:
What even is the deal with Danielson now? I don't understand this whole 90-day no-compete-on-television clause and why it'd even include WWE since they made the clause?
Most people seem to think he'll be back, but I only think that's going to happen if there's a lot of fuss kicked off backstage from the likes of Cena. Which I doubt..
Oh and btw, for you Skip Sheffield haters. Did you see that awesome Spear?
What it fucking do, guys. What it do.

Yeah gotta admit when Bret was revealed to be the last member of Cena's team, then I thought it was wank. I thought it was going to be HHH.
"I hate you Heath Slater, I hate you!"
That fan is my hero!
New tag titles look awful.

Bret Hart needs to die now. He's doing nothing contructive atall. Also, surely the whole Nexus invasion angle would have been better if they'd have done it when Cena had the strap? The thing could culminate in him being challenged by Barrett or something. It just seems odd that he's had it for most of the past five years, and when it would have counted best, no.

Every time you see Bret Hart stepping in the ring for a match, you know something is going to happen that will mean the match cannot start or cannot finish. It's pointless.
Joel, tell your girlfriend to stop botching (on the mic in this case) and that she absolutely sucks! Seems like she's been taking lessons from Miz, who in turn has taken them from Jeremy Piven. :joel:

Undefined women's champion? Wtf?
Alicia and Miz did botch, but at least Khali took home the Botch of the Night trophy.
He deserves better, but Regal. :lmao:
And his rap fail on Superstars was gold too.

Regal can rap! Do you remember the one just after the election? "Just like Britain's parliment, I'm hung" the man is an absolute legend.
Hopefully this represents the start of the 'reveal the GMs identity' angle, because this is boring as fuck now. LMAO @ Jericho telling Cole to 'Shut up and read it'.

R Truth sucks donkey boner, along with Ted Jr, but I could have told you that a year ago. Fuck knows why he had such a big push into the company. Zero charisma.
How about that ending though, eh? Are we going to finally see the fabled Cena heel turn? Don't dismiss it, think about it - Nexus disbanding now would throw away alot of good work, and there have been ALOT of rumours on the internets that they want to try Cena as a heel now he's so massive.
Cena won't turn heel. At most he'll be a reluctant part of Nexus, like Shawn Michaels was 'property' of JBL last year. I bet they won't even do it though. Just like Rey was never forced into the Straight Edge Society. They'll kill Nexus like the cowards they are!
When I first learned R-Truth was getting new music I was glad; it couldn't be any worse than "What's Up", right?! I was wrong. Ted's music...
He should've kept his original Priceless theme that was the Pink Floyd rip off.
(Best version I could find)
cnbv9sDLhU0
I'd pop to that.
Wade is the man. He'll be in Manchester 2 weeks after Bragging Rights to a hero's welcome! WWE title in hand and John Cena in toe.
It's been a while since Edge brought his best mic form to the table, and Maryse looks so, so hot even without the heavy makeup. The rest of Raw outside of Nexus and Edge, was a throwaway though.
Btw Joel, I'm pretty sure Kelly has never jobbed in 40 seconds. :joel:
I am going to ignore some of that post :serial:
Barrett is the man. But I'm still unsure if he will win the title. I hope so, but I have my doubts.
Are you an Orton hater like most of WF these days?
Nah, I'm a fan. I just don't really agree with him being so dominant.
There's not going to be a better time for Barrett to win it. Just think how better booked it looks to Sheamus' first reign. And it could be considered his official NXT title shot as the 6-pack odds weren't in his favour. I thought Orton took the belt as they wanted Miz to cash in on a face (would make no sense for Sheamus/Barrett to have the belt in this case), but that's not going to happen for another 2 months I feel.
So can Orton keep the momentum that long? I think it'll ruin him tbh. I want Barrett to take the belt at Bragging Rights, then Cena off him to conclude the Nexus business. Then enter Miz.
And the cash-in fail that ensues.
Barretts great, no doubt about it. I think he'll win the WWE title at Bragging Rights against Orton, now that Cena takes orders from Barrett they'll somehow incorperate that into the match I think. They wouldn't of had Cena join the Nexus and take orders from Barrett, have Barrett as #1 contender through help from Cena and not win the title, surely. It's the perfect time for it, as Guillermo said.
Edge was also great on the mic yet again last Raw too, making the most of what segment he was in. Infact that entire segment was good work by Miz, Riley, Edge and Cole. I'm glad Edge has moved back to Smackdown though.
I also have to say it, even though I used to dislike Michael Cole, i'm a Cole Miner now! He has been entertaining on Raw and NXT since NXT began. I really hope he's the GM.
EDIT: Oh, and it was also nice to see Goldust cutting a Goldust esq creepy promo. Should be a good feud with Goldust involved.
Cole is awesome. He needs to be on every show.
I hope you two are right. I'd love to see Barrett as the champ. The first English WWE Champion :w00t
I'm just not too sure they will take the title off Orton after only a month. He is red hot at the moment and that could kill all momentum he has.
If I was to ask you right now, what the Raw main event for WrestleMania would be, what would you say?
Cole is awesome. He needs to be on every show.
No, he's still shit. He may have more enthusiasm and facial expressions now, but his basic facts are all over the place. "ECW's been off the air a year and half!"...lol ok.
If I was to ask you right now, what the Raw main event for WrestleMania would be, what would you say?
Orton/Cena. Safe bet. If Cena has to help Barrett beat Orton then it plants the seed. I can't see it involving anyone outside of current main event status (Miz/Morrison/Bryan etc.). I'd love Orton/Punk, but that feud seems a LONG way away.

You mark for Morrison, therefore your points have to be assessed before given the thumbs up.
Verdict: Fail. Try again.

Verdict: Pass.
Yeah, it does seem it will be them two. ZZZZZZZzzzzzz. We've seen it enough already. Just because Orton is face, it doesn't make much of a difference.
Orton vs Punk would be great (don't let Pyro hear that!). It's definitely a feud where I can see both of them trading shots equally. Unlike Punk vs Cena, which I could see being one sided and only lasting like a month before Cena destroys him.

Nice of you to retort with well-constructed criticism from the school of Pyro. :joel:

Outside of facing Undertaker, I don't really know what else they'll do with Cena beside taking on a face Orton. He's made Punk look like a joke in their past encounters, Barrett/Sheamus have been done too recently and I don't see anyone wanting another WrestleMania match against Triple H.
If Punk is indeed going to Raw as a trade for Edge it's going to piss me off. I was hoping to see either a Punk/Edge or Punk/Kingston feud! The latter option would be great for a fresh world title WM match.
Yeah I also think it'll be Orton vs Cena, and I think Cena vs Taker will happen at Mania 28 seeing as it'll be 20-0 streak then, and that's surely the biggest match up they can make for 20-0.
First thing they should do is let Punk wrestle Daniel Bryan for half an hour on his Raw debut, clearly.
Nice of you to retort with well-constructed criticism from the school of Pyro. :joel:
I can't go to Pyro's school, cause I like Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy. I got kicked out the first day.
Tbh, I don't mind John Morrison as a midcarder. But the moment he gets pushed up to main event, I will have a big issue, because he is seriously not good enough. He's not over enough and he can't talk. He needs to be midcard for life.
If Punk is indeed going to Raw as a trade for Edge it's going to piss me off. I was hoping to see either a Punk/Edge or Punk/Kingston feud! The latter option would be great for a fresh world title WM match.
Nah, get CM Punk off Smackdown as quick as possible. He has been dying on there since Jeff left. He needs to be (ironically) saved by Raw.
First thing they should do is let Punk wrestle Daniel Bryan for half an hour on his Raw debut, clearly.
I actually forgot about this match! Yes, it definitely needs to be done!
"Yeah, you didn't have a problem with Daniel Bryan being a part of Team WWE at SummerSlam and look how that turned out - we lost, remember?!"
*uncomfortable silence*
Care to defend the vintage dumbass Michael Cole there, Joel?
Well, seeing as Team WWE's leader is now taking orders from the Nexus leader, Team WWE may as well had lost.
That is how I defend him. He knew they won the match. But he was talking about the war.
In yo fayce, biiiiatch!
In yo fayce, biiiiatch!
How will you defend him this week? He can't even remember who he is supposed to hate on and like. All he knows is he wants Miz's cock for breakfast and asshole for lunch.
Bryan dancing with the divas? I don't even know what to say. :lmao:
He's a HEEL. They change their minds all the time.
You must be reading TripleG's posts or something...
"Urgh it's Vickie, no wait I'm supposed to be in love with her!"
Yeah, classic heel approach.
You must be reading kaneisback's posts and his idiocy is rubbing off. :joel:
He was obviously just hating on anything Smackdown last night.

Difference between Cody and Morrison is that Cody hasn't had two failed main event pushes.
Personality! ...Something you obviously don't care about!
Why are you comparing the push of Cody Rhodes and Morrison? That wasn't even the debate!
Personality! ...Something you obviously don't care about!
Well obviously. I'm talking to you, ain't I? :troll:
I'm a heel. I can change my mind and conversation topics whenever. Just like Cole does.
You don't like Miz, you don't like Cole, you probably only like Barrett cause he is billed from Manchester...
You should like you come out of the Impact Zone.
Surely Wade is getting the title at Survivor Series now?
Better had be! The prospect of a Punk/Bryan feud gets me excited, but I hope it lasts for months and ends at Mania. :ninja:
Punk/Dragon is going to be so good if they are allowed time and focus. It sucks the US title is going to be involved, because I would rather it be just about who the better guy is.
I don't see the point of them keeping the title on Orton. It's not like they have even bothere using him since he has won it. He's just been Sheamus'd: Look strong -> win the title -> barely be on the show -> drop the title.
They better not do that to Barrett!
Aye, as I've said I am an Orton fan, but there's no way to disguise this title run anything other than a waste. Like the Sheamus run, there's zero attention on him as everything is about Nexus.
There really was/is absolutely nothing to gain by having Orton keep the title at Bragging Rights if he's gonna lose it at Survivor Series. Another month as WWE champion that no-one will remember :/
The only good and memorable world title reigns from this year were around WrestleMania.
I'd go as far to say they have not been any strong reigns this year. Batista's was funny, but it was only one month. Jericho's could have been great, but Vince has never seen Jericho as a guy to lead, unfortunately.
That was just terrible. I don't even know who Pee-Wee Herman is apart from being a public masterbator. Lita appearance balanced out the woe of the Mark Henry segment, but there was nothing to be saved in the Miz confrontation.
Laughed at Maryse overhearing Cole talking about Bryan being a 'peeping tom'. And Vince in a coma.
I laughed at the peeping tom comment too. Just got the image of Bryan actually peeping around the Divas locker room.
I didn't mind the Pee Wee segment. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't brilliant or anything close, but I don't think it was awful. I saw the Pee Wee movie earlier this year on Sky, so I kind of expected what happened to happen.
The McMahon segment was gold. Hunter stole it, even though we did not see him.
"Honey, my dad is still in a coma, right?"
"Yeah... I'm pretty sure he's brain dead"
:lmao:
Oh and Natalya and Wade are winning gold at Survivor Series.
Old School Raw was class last night.
Piper and Cena's interaction was really top stuff. Piper made the WWE title seem more important than anyone has over the last few years. Real quality.
Read about it, sounded shit to me. Same old legends that always make appearances throughout the year, hardly any from the actual era. Severe lack of Damien Demento and Max Moon.
It was one of the best Raws ever. The damn segment and Mae Young calling LayCool sluts and bitches were for the ages.
And Sheik randomly talking trash about Hogan. :lmao:
MARK THE FUCK OUT!
From being danced on by Big Dick Johnson, to becoming WWE Champion. Miz has arrived.
I give up. Just horrible on every level conceivable.
Well you had enough time to get ready for it. He practically won it in June.
Edit: Can't even change my avatar. Damn it, Barry!
I felt sorry for perro that he is in the biggest fuckhead of 2010 poll, but nope, he definitely deserves his place.
Yeah, he's a Miz mark so it's fully justified.
I see they went with the obvious King of the Ring approach. Why even bother :/
The guy is just an embarrassment. His opinions, his grammar, his spelling, his punctuation, everything.
He's trying to argue that Miz is a better (although he tries to spin it by saying, "been in more entertaining matches this year") in ring performer than Orton.
Bah. He sucks.
They should have given it to Alberto. Sheamus having it is only for King vs King of Kings. It's not even like they needed to add this to the feud. You would have thought HHH would already be motivated enough to come back and destroy the guy who wanted to end his career. But apparently, Sheamus needs to be King as well.
I know you wanted Morrison to win, but seriously Andy, this gimmick isn't made for him. As I said already, if WWE really want to get him over, then he is the type of guy who will need to get over with his in ring skills and try to create a presence, because his mic skills are seriously weak. Basically, he needs to study how Jeff Hardy connects to the fans.
Well, I didn't overly want Morrison to win. I was in Del Rio's camp when the tournament was first announced. But if you're going to give JoMo a push, make sure it's a push with substance. He just seems to get wins over a main eventer, then given absolutely nothing to work with for weeks. :/
At least Sheamus won't be winning the Rumble. Though I suspect that idea has long gone anyway. It's pretty hard to look past Cena at this point.
Surely you cringed at that Morrison promo a few times, Andy? Come on the haters side. It's much easier and when he is futured endeavoured, you'll feel justified!
That Cena fired storyline sucked ass. They could have made that into something unique and exciting, but it lasted 3 weeks and we saw him every week. He did play his part well though.
Will make the most of Raw next week, because it will be the last one Miz is WWE Champion.
It was pretty bad, but I blame whoever was feeding him the lines. Anybody could've come up hilarity over Sheamus' attire if they were let loose on the mic.
I can't believe Cena wasn't absent for even one single week. Hell, they haven't even taken it slowly where we takes them out one-by-one a week at a time. He's battered 4 of them in just 2 Raws. It wouldn't surprise me if they have Cena/Barrett at TLC, finish off Nexus and we never hear about the faction again, all before January 1st. And speaking of Nexus, David Otunga is hilarious. Needs more screen time. :shfty:
I could watch Michael Cole get RKO'd every day.
The only reason I don't think Nexus will finish before the new year or just after it, is because they just brought out now merchandise for them.
'Tung is quite the personality lately :hmm:
That was uncalled for. He should have RKO'd King so we could have Cole, Punk and Josh at the booth again.

Anyone know who CM Punk was talking about when he said someone had wronged him?? Also when is Chris Jericho coming back, and if he doesn't turn face I'm going to cry.
Agreed, the Cena fired angle totally sucked donkey balls. When he got 'fired' I presumed he wanted time off to make another fucking shit film.
Why oh why did they have to include Nexus in this feud? Punk will be brilliant as the leader, but Cena vs Punk would have been even better with just the focus on the two of them.
Cena and Nexus should be over and done with. It really is boring now and changing the leader doesn't have me excited, even if that leader is Punk.
LAME.
Isn't the Nexus Cena thing not due to end at Wrestlemania? Bit of a joke if thats the case.
I thought it was done after Cena killed Barrett at TLC. But apparently not. Would hate it to go all the way to WM.

Vintage.
So they are starting the show with Miz vs Morrison then? I don't blame them. They want to end this Morrison push as quick as possible.
Then he can go back and do what we all enjoy and that is being a great midcarder.
Yeah they'll want to be kicking of RAW with a bang so that's likely why they will have the first match as being the Falls Count Anywhere WWE Title match between Morrison and The Miz. I can see some sort of big tag match, possibly a return, or a number 1 contenders match as the main event.
What do you think of CM Punk leading Nexus, Cali?
What do you think of CM Punk leading Nexus, Cali?
I think it's great. It gives Punk something very, very strong to do going into Wrestlemania. I was a fan of Barrett leading The Nexus but Punk as the mastermind now is just awesome, to me atleast. It's taken a new change to completely change Nexus, if you get what I mean. The last few months had been pretty boring, Husky Harris and McGillicutty joining, Tarver, Young, Sheffield (Although injured), getting 'kicked out' sucked too, I much prefered the original Nexus than the Nexus of now.
But with Punk leading them, it's suddenly sparkled some light on the angle again, and i'm interested in it like I was before they got too involved with Cena. Aslong as Cena isn't too seriously injured I can see it ending with a Cena vs Punk match at Wrestlemania, which will do Punk wonders as the top heel on RAW.
I've no idea how they will use Barrett when he comes back, though. (Could possibly be tonight, even) I can maybe see him question the Nexus loyalties, and if the rumours are true that Vince wants Brock vs Taker at Wrestlemania (Which i'd say is 99% not going to happen), then Taker vs Barrett could very well happen, so I don't know how the Wrestlemania road for Barrett will go without The Nexus behind him.
Forget it, I'm done. I'll check out the Rumble match as there's always fun there, but everything else I'm done with. The bookers clearly haven't got a clue.
^ Morrison mark :lmao:
Nah, you're right though. Miz vs Orton does suck. But maybe they want to put the title on Orton at the Royal Rumble. They couldn't do this if they had Miz vs Morrison at that event.
They just book themselves in a hole. Both Miz & Morrison will get screwed long term because we know there's no way Miz is winning clean over Orton. He either wins dirty or loses and neither option helps him. They had a chance to give both guys (Miz/Morrison) a lot more exposure over the next 3 weeks but they'll continue with the 'Miz is a shitty weak champ' route that'll destroy him.
And what are they doing to Barrett? :faceplm:
Barrett will go to Smackdown now. The good thing for him is that he has beef with Undertaker, so his WrestleMania was sorted since October.
I would have preferred a Nexus split though. Gabriel went with Barrett and he got Tarver and Sheffield back. Maybe even Darren Young. While Otunga, Slater, Harris and McGillicutty stayed with Punk. Although for me, in a perfect wrestling world, Nexus wouldn't be involved with Punk.
Miz will lose the belt to Orton. I honestly thought he was losing it at TLC, until I realised that Morrison was becoming the #1 contender. I'm not sure if Miz will ever be WWE champion again though. I'm a fan, but it still feels weird. Getting the second reign is going to be a hell of a lot harder for him than getting the first reign, imo. The only WM match he could possibly have is against Morrison with Morrison going over.
Morrison will look good in the rumble. He is very over. He will be fine. I don't like him, but if he can keep this level of overness, then they have to give him the title this year *vomits*. Whether that happens, I'm not sure. But they gave it to Hardy, so it is possible.
Off the top of your head now, what WM do you see happening?
Barrett's just screwed. I mean he had a chance to beat Undertaker kayfabe if he had all of Nexus behind him. But on his own? He'll be squashed. We saw how it went against Cena at TLC. And turning him face to either team with Cena or form a 'Wolfpac' would be a catastrophe. :/
It's strange; a part of me still thinks Cena/Orton will go ahead. Orton's really not got any other options unless Jericho returns. You'd think logically that it'll end with Punk vs Cena at WM but people are getting bored with Nexus and all the chopping and changing. We saw Cena overcome Barrett, and no-one believes the result will be any different with Punk in his place.
You'd hope Smackdown was all set to pull the trigger on Edge/Christian for Mania. Christian/Del Rio number 1. contender match at Elimination Chamber and you're ready. But they won't do it.
Miz/Morrison, Sheamus/Triple H are the only other two I could say happening at this point.
I only checked wwe.com for the Raw results, and so I only just got round to watching Miz/Morrison. Why the hell didn't they put this on PPV?
Failed Starship Pain through the table was unbelievable.
Because Orton is going to win the title at the Rumble.
Got to love the Melina booking.

What a fucking mong.
Still entertaining watching him an Santino though.
I think the other bloke fucked up as well on the rope pull. Either way, those 12 seconds sum up the last 5+ years of this shitfest.

To be honest, it was definitely Koslov's fault. The other guy pulled the rope down enough, but instead of going over it, Koslov simply ran at the rope with his head down like he was performing a spear - you're not going to get over the top rope like that Koslov.

This day was already fucking awesome because I'm getting to see paps and go for a meal/cinema with him, but now The Rock is back as well! Fuck meeee.
I bet the kids at the show haven't heard an atmosphere like that since they started watching WWE.
What I want to know though, I've only seen 15 minutes on Youtube as I can't find a longer version yet - is he back for good now. I totally became emotional when he said on his word, that he was back for good. Then he started talking about hosting Wrestlemania, which to me would seem like a short stint no? This needs to be cleared up because if he's only back for a month or two I'll be prepared to get a flight and lay the smackdown on his jabroni ass for giving us his word!
FINALLYYYYYYY!

The segment was fantastic, but I think after Wrestlemania the Rock will go again and he'd be right to do it. A) because wrestling is shit nowadays, and B) because he has a decent Hollywood career and C) so he can get out of it while he's still healthy.
Yeah, there's no way he'd give up his acting career for the travelling and shit all over again. But it should be a good PPV, the most anticipated in years.
I just downloaded the MP3 version of last night's entrance, and wow - it's fucking amazing blasting through my ears.

Nah, he won't be back for good. I doubt he'll even have a match again (some people have jumped on the idea of Rock-Cena already). I think we may see him once more on Raw before his hosting gig at WrestleMania, then not again for another 11 months. He'll certainly have something to do with the Miami WM next year, if only to be a Hall of Fame inductee.
I'd love him to do some dream matches at the major PPVs as it still allows him to make movies the rest of the year, but it's not gonna happen. Since Austin's around with Tough Enough, it would be since to see the two interact one last time.
Imagine if we had got Cena/Rock and Undertaker/Sting this year. :crymore:

The whole damn thing.
I don't mind that The Rock won't wrestle. And I don't mind that he'll be gone again after WM. I understand that wrestling is not his profession anymore.
But all I ever wanted was to see him show up once a year or so, talk trash, make fans laugh and cheer and then Rockbottom someone followed by a People's Elbow.
That guy will always be a God on the mic. So great to see him back in a live WWE ring again.
Just watched it all. I've got goosebumps in places other people don't have places. :hmm:
EDIT: Yeah I don't mind either. It's just when he says "I give my word I'm never ever going" that irks me. Still will be my favourite of all time regardless.

7 years since his last match and he hasn't appeared in person for just over 6.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love Maryse.

To be honest, I'm not sure if he will go away again.
Sure enough he won't wrestle much, probably very rarely, but I've a feeling he'll be somewhat more regular around WWE. This might not even be valid but according to someone on a wrestling forum, Dwayne's been talking to Kevin Nash and others about how he genuinely misses being in the WWE and in front of everyone. It seems logical that he'd stick around because he'll be getting healthy money and as mentioned above he'll still be allowed time off every now and then for movie projects if he wishes.
Would Vince allow someone who's bigger than the WWE to stay longer than WM? Don't think so. Only him, Hogan and Austin are the only wrestlers who have their name permanently etched in people's minds, even those who don't watch wrestling much. So Cena is the biggest name in the biz now right? Yeah, no where near.

Come on guys, let's all calm down and realise. He's not going to wrestle. Simple as that. But it doesn't matter. We are talking about a guy who you can give a mic and leave him the stage for half an hour, and EVERYONE will want to watch it. He doesn't need to wrestle.
And besides, the only way you'll see him wrestling again is if he agrees to go under Cena, and I'd rather die than see that.
Yeah, I would not watch anything if it were Cena vs The Rock because any wrestling fan would know who would win. Cena. I'd prepare the 9mm if it was set up.
Here's The Rock's return in HD glory, uncensored too.
Let's just enjoy the moment people.

I've watched that video 8 fucking times today, and I'm honestly not bored of a second. This guy really is the most electrifying man in entertainment today.
Yeah, absolutely amazing moment in Wrestling. I got goosebumps also. One of my favourite wrestlers of all time.
The whole 'I'm never leaving' thing is interesting too. It would be real nice to see him stick around more after WrestleMania, but for now, i'm just absolutely glad that he's hosting the show. I can't see him wrestling, but then again, I was one of the people who never thought he would come back, too.

I thought he'd come back and do one of those 3 hour Raw specials or something, but a PPV? Nice. A Wrestlemania? Super nice. A Wrestlemania and likely involvement in a John Cena angle? OMGMYPANTSAREWET.
Clearly I'm the only one that thinks he's going to be back on the actual roster...
Clearly I'm the only one that thinks he's going to be back on the actual roster...
To be honest, I genuinely think he'll wrestle Cena at Wrestlemania. As for full time wrestling, very unlikely of course but as long as he's cutting regular promos and I get to hear his theme music several times I'm more than happy. I do think though despite what some say, that he'll still be in the WWE to some capacity after Wrestlemania.
Well Rock does still have a few films in the pipeline. He doesn't have a huge gap in his schedule for matches. He mentioned both Miz and Cena; and the current direction is definitely going the Miz vs Cena route. They made it so obvious by even booking Miz to face a 61 year old commentator on Sunday. He could be a guest referee or something, but it'd take too much emphasis away from the competitors.
But I wouldn't mind him doing this to Cena & Miz in a WrestleMania main event
gN7qXelhVJU
My only hope is that they have John Morrison win the elimination chamber to face The Miz (but look at the faith they had in that feud by having their world title match open a Raw) to free up Cena to face Rock.
Rock isn't wrestling. He's ruled that out already.

Respect him motherfucker. It's The Rock. With a capital T. You know I have the power to ban you...or worse...

He also ruled out coming back to the WWE. ;)
Never definitively though.
He did say that he retired from it and "left quietly through the backdoor", but for the last year, he has been saying that he talked with Vince McMahon about doing something big together.
"...to "the Rock's millions and millions"...who will forever be my family.. ..my honest and direct answer to you is this: I left the WWE because I had succeeded in accomplishing every goal I set to achieve.
...I've never done this before, but I will now because I feel it's important you know..let me share with you the goals I set for myself in the WWE so you can have a better understanding and perspective.. - become the youngest WWE World Champion - help set box office and attendance records in every arena in the country - help set PPV buy rate records ..the final two and my most important goals to achieve in wrestling: - become the most entertaining and electrifying performer the WWE had ever seen or will ever see again - take the brass ring of the WWE that Vince McMahon had faithfully allowed me to earn and take it places it had never gone before...to trailblaze...to break new ground...to achieve unprecedented greatness for not only for myself and the fans to enjoy...but for the business of professional wrestling itself and the WWE... A business and company that is in my blood and that I will love forever.
...I achieved these goals in the WWE at 30 years old and decided then to HUMBLY and QUIETLY step away and retire. ..and set my sights on another goal...a childhood dream...Hollywood. ..will I ever come back to the WWE? of course I will..not a match though, but in a capacity that would allow me to do so much more.. I LOVE that company and the fans...without the two I would not be standing where I am today... Vince and myself stay very closely connected and when the opportunity is right - which will be alot sooner than you think - we will do something electrifying and historic for the fans
...he and I were toying with the idea of a special show called "ROCK RAW"... sounds like a perfect title for me to come back and SLAP THE LIPS OFF THOSE JABRONIS and LAYETH THE SMACKETH DOWN ON AAAAALLLLL THEIR CANDY ASSES!!! sorry...got carried away..I'll save that one of a kind electricity for Rock Raw.. ...it is important to me to say this from my heart - to the incredibly loyal "..The Rock's Millions and Millions..." and the entire WWE UNIVERSE
...I am forever humbled and grateful to you for allowing me the HONOR to entertain you over the years...you have my word I will continue to entertain you in ways like no one else...it's only just the beginning... I dream big...and we've achieved those dreams together because you never left my side..I love you for that and thank you... I am Dwayne Johnson...and I will also always be The Rock."
These were his words just before the Royal Rumble.

It felt like the Taker return was just that little bit too predictable, and true enough a spin was put on it. Seconds later, HHH is back and appears to challenge the deadman.

Innit? When taker came back, I presumed it would be to confront Nexus and/or Kane. Same with Trips for Seamus.
Ahhh well, probably better this way anyway, would you really want to see HHH/Seamus and Taker/Kane at mania again?
I expected Undertaker to return tonight and, since I expected the Corre to be present, I thought he'd quickly take down Barrett, Gabriel and Slater. Basically that's their confrontation over. Then he'd get a mic and say he's coming for Kane on Friday. Beats Kane on Smackdown and he's had his revenge over those who buried him.
All except one.
Which leads to Otunga vs Undertaker at Mania.

What this time? :cringe:
Meltzer looks like he's getting that ridiculous WM card right. Fuck.
If there was one match that should've had a special referee it was HBK for Trips/Undertaker. Otherwise the dynamic is no different to 10 years ago, which may as well have been regarded as No Holds Barred. BUT, the upside of Austin there is he should get an interaction with Rock backstage. And a Stunner to Cole obv.
Told him that Austin and Rock are better than the current roster, which he disagreed because perro is awful.
Told him that those guys have been brought because there is nothing else to draw fans. He tries to tell me that fans are looking forward to Cena vs Miz. Tries to get him to understand that the feud isn't even about Miz, but his brain can't comprehend sense.
He'd defend the current product to the end of the world. Next week should be the worst episode ever imaginable yet he'll still compliment it.

It's scientifically provable that no one on the current roster holds a candle to Rock and Austin. Cena doing rap again? But this time with seemingly nowhere near as much effort? Yeah good comeback, whiteboy.
^ Rock's promo last week sucked nearly as bad. Not gonna lie.
The only good part was "yabba dabba bitch" and Cena's only good part was the T-Shirt. Hilarious and true.
Just thought I'd post in here to say I'm most definitely back on my wrestling bullshit. I've watched every Raw and Smackdown since The Rock's return, which is a rare feat considering I've been tuned out for years. I've noticed however there's hardly any matches anymore which is a shame really, especially when it means more mic time, especially since there's so few who can really deliver great promos thesedays.
There are still some great positives for me, I'm finding Michael Cole hilarious, and his new Cole Mine is just brilliant.
Randy Orton's Viper character is immense too, I'm genuinely really enjoying it, and I hope Randy gets a nice fat raise out of this because he's been playing it brilliantly. I'm finding the Orton/Punk build up a lot more exciting than The Rock/Miz/Cena rivalry to be totally honest as that's beginning to go stale now - especially with The Rock only appearing on the Titantron every now and then. Although The Miz's Rock impressions have been funny, you can tell he really loves performing The Rock's moves and mannerisms.

Sit your ass down, Matt. You look like a drunk hobbit (in a fat suit :shfty:). Greatest Raw of 2011 at best.
Actually felt like a WrestleMania build-up week for once. But too little, too late I'm afraid. Great segments with Rock/Miz/Cena and Taker/HHH/HBK; I had to laugh that Shawn had to appear just to get people interested and those two talking instead of another stare-down. Cutting each other off with the duelling themes was probably my favourite bit of that. Miz became so irrelevant again, you could tell everybody in the arena was annoyed by his appearance.
I don't care if Rock helps Cena win on Sunday, he just needs to give him a Rock Bottom at some point. >.<

I'd be willing to bet I weigh less than Michael Cole now. But yeah I spose you are right, I'm just easily excitable. I must say when Trips said to the Deaman 'To tell you, it's time' I did join in in the collective Oh no he didn't feeling that the crowd seemed to put in.
And the ending was perfect. Because it eliminates the possibility of Rock/Cena becoming friends somehow, which would have been totally gay.

That's what I thought Joel. It's been speculated before that Taker will just go even more part time than he is now, and maybe even just come out for a couple more Wresltemanias once he quits full time wrestling. Because Cena/Taker's gotta happen. They've been the two guys that have basically booked as if they are pretty much invincible over the past 5 years, to not have them collide would be a monumental waste.
So therefore, Taker vs Someone else (hopefully someone good) at WM28, then Cena at 29 or even 30.
I would've thought he'd stop when he hit 20-0. But it needs to be against someone who could credibly end the streak. Though as someone who hasn't watched wrestling in about a decade, I'm not the right person to theorise who that would be.

Cena would be the only one now, IMO. But now that's out of the window.
Thoughts on Rock vs Cena WM28?
Thoughts on Rock vs Cena WM28?
It's potentially the biggest match ever. Well, certainly up there behind Hogan/Andre and Rock/Hogan. Cena will win, but I can't imagine him leaving Miami still as a face.
I'm personally hoping Undertaker takes a long, long break now. We're talking 18 months. Get as healed up as possible before one last run, leading to a Cena showdown at WM29.
^ May as well make it a 30 month break and have the match at WM30!
How dare you not mention Hogan/Warrior and Austin/Rock in that same bracket! It is going to be massive though. Cena will be booed like hell, but he will still be a face the next night.
Who are we thinking (and wanting) Miz to defend the title against at Extreme Rules?

Was anybody really thinking "I've been waiting years for this match!" or "I never thought we'd see this" with those matches? Obviously wasn't watching at the time of VI so I'm not sure what the hype was like.
It'll probably be Cena again. Dirty finish at WM means the feud's not over. And now The Rock business is pushed aside til next year they can concentrate on each other. Morrison is too involved Ziggler, Orton with Punk. Unless someone's coming over in the draft soon I don't see any other options.

Either that, or HHH worms his way in there somehow, and him losing another high profile match sets up a teasing retirement angle...
The only way they can justify Triple H part III is by having it as Hell in a Cell, seeing as it's both men's speciality. But I still don't want to see it.

True or false?

06-04-2011, 13:56
I don't think he was 100% going into it anyway, so wouldn't be surprised. Don't expect to see him again for a little while.
Apparently the WWE announced there was no major injuries sustained during Wrestlemania. Not quite sure what 'major' means as Miz said he suffered a concussion (which we saw when his head hit the concrete pretty brutally). I'm almost positive that both HHH and Undertaker hurt their left wrists and hands too during the match - HHH's when he was flipped off the announce table onto the floor, and instead of selling the back ache like one usually would he immediately clutched his wrist, and Taker gave him a good few minutes until they got back into action. The same goes the other way round, when HHH hit I think the second pedigree on Taker, it looked like Taker tried to protect himself but landed awkwardly on his left wrist/hand and was nursing that immediately afterwards, even seeing if he could close his hand properly (he leaned over to the rope and clutched it, seemingly solely for the purpose of seeing if he could grasp anything in his injured hand).
So besides probably aching bodies, I'm almost certain both really did injure their left arms/hands.
Thanks for sharing that Hunter much appreciated.
Trips and Taker were both fined for the chair-shot H gave The Deadman to the head at Mania.
I like how, despite their position in the company, they aren't getting any special treatment. They're banned for a reason.
Trips and Taker were both fined for the chair-shot H gave The Deadman to the head at Mania.
I like how, despite their position in the company, they aren't getting any special treatment. They're banned for a reason.
I don't think either will give a shit about the fine. They'll probably think it was worth it. They're trying to put on a No Holds Barred Wrestlemania classic, they should have some leeway.
They shouldn't get any leeway at all - Lawler wasn't allowed to use his Piledriver for a reason.
It's hardly the example to set, if a younger guy next year decides to bend a rule because it'll get a good reaction by the bloodthirsty crowd, he'd probably be fired outright. The fact they've been fined is more than enough leeway.
Of course they should be given leeway. Protected chair shots should be allowed providing the wrestlers have sufficient training in swinging the chair, and also protecting themselves - as well as it not being used too often, to damage the 'wow' factor of it being utilised. I think it's safe enough to say both HHH and Taker have had more than enough experience in the chair-using department, and it was evident Taker used his right hand to protect the chair shot (although apparently many didn't realise = perfect).
Yeah, he did block it, just not all of the shot. I think the fact it "looked" bad probably annoyed the sponsors, who seem to have a grip over what goes on and what doesn't.
But I'm sure the sponsers don't mind seeing them slammed through announce tables and smashed twice as hard in the back with chairs.
I can completely understand banning the unprotected chair shot, but banning the protected chair shots just makes little sense to me. It was no doubt worth it for HHH and Taker too, and wouldn't surprise me if it was pre-agreed by everyone including Vince on the low, as well as the post-match fines.
Definitely pre-agreed. And I doubt HHH and Undertaker lost any of "their" money.
Wait, are protected chair shots banned now?? I didn't even know that unprotected ones were but at least I could understand that. Fuck WWE's fallen a long way...
I don't think protected chair shots are banned, no - as I say, I think it was probably more to do with the way it looked. A lot of people firmly believed Taker didn't block it until one camera angle showed him actually taking most of the force with his hand.
To be fair, I think even protected chair shots are banned. It would be too much of a grey area to only impose a ban on unprotected chair shots, because ultimately they're trying to make the chair shot look as though it is unprotected, as that's what it's all about. So you can't really just impose bans on unprotected chair shots, because that's then admitting to everyone that the chair shots to the head that are used are definitely faked.
Oh, and another bit of news while we're talking about it in this thread...
WWE officially changed its name today - to WWE. ¬_¬
They want no mention of "wrestling". Very sad.
They've been saying that they're "entertainment" for years though, not wrestling. And when do they, if ever referred to themselves as "World Wrestling Entertainment" on TV?
I mean, before, it always used to be;
"The winner, and new World Wrestling Federation Champion..." - but I don't ever recall them saying the full company name since the change to WWE.
Nothing will change on TV, just like the chicken didn't when Kentucky Fried Chicken become KFC.
It's probably towards sponsors, stock exchange and such. They won't have to say, "World Wrestling Entertainment" anymore.
I do get their point, as annoyed as "wrasslin' fans" will be by it - WWE isn't just a wrestling company anymore. It's a business that has its fingers in so many different things.
Just think of all the wrestling legends turning in their graves over what this company has become. Wouldn't surprise me if they tried to make a WWE channel, with 'wrestling' just being a programme in the listings, coupled with some reality shit.
I do get their point, as annoyed as "wrasslin' fans" will be by it - WWE isn't just a wrestling company anymore. It's a business that has its fingers in so many different things.
I'm not gonna lie, it's not an issue that bothers me. BUT, it's fucking stupid.
During the HoF speeches, Animal, Duggan, Armstrong all had to use "Sports Entertainment Business". I mean come on... It sounded so fake and forced. Just let them say the wrestling business.
I don't really see it as that negative to be honest. Of course we love the wrestling aspect, but we all know that the day of immensely technical wrestling matches is pretty much done in the WWE, with more focus being on story-driven matches. It just makes sense to be honest, and it's obviously going to help the WWE. Here's more information from their corporate site:
April 7, 2011
To better reflect the company’s global entertainment offerings, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) announced today a new business model for future growth, including formally rebranding itself, WWE.
Two key components to WWE’s brand expansion will be the active pursuit to acquire entertainment content companies and the outsourcing of WWE’s core competencies – television and film production, live event production and licensing. As part of the new business model, the company will also focus on the development of new television products including scripted, non-scripted and animated programs, as well as the launch of a new WWE network in the next 12-18 months. The first new program of the brand expansion is Tough Enough®, WWE’s non-scripted program that debuted on the USA Network on Monday.
“The new business model of the company better reflects what WWE is all about, being a global entertainment company,” stated Vince McMahon, Chairman and CEO, WWE. “We will always be loyal to our core business that made WWE a globally known entity, however, the future of WWE will be the addition of new entertainment content opportunities beyond the ring.”
This new rebranding initiative will be highlighted through a national consumer and business-to-business advertising campaign entitled “Bigger. Badder. Better.™” The campaign kicked off at WrestleMania® XXVII on Sunday and will be featured on cable TV, print and online.
In addition to focusing on the expansion of the company, the company will bolster its core business with the launch a new talent development department headed by Paul “Triple H®” Levesque. The new department will put a greater emphasis on worldwide recruitment, training and character development to identify future WWE Superstars and Divas. The first recruit acquired under Levesque’s new department was the signing last month of future WWE Superstar, Sin Cara™, formerly known worldwide as Mistico.

If Trips was actually behind the Sin Cara signing, then I don't see how anyone can criticise WWE for not wanting to have "wrestling" in their product anymore.
Trouble with WWE trying to make it "entertainment" is that they can't bring anything entertaining to the table that's not the actual wrestling product. It's your successful area Vince, what you're good at, so stick with it. Branching out more and more with imbecilic comedy routines and those God-awful films will ultimately fail. There was a reason things like the guest hosts bombed and were booed, and that's because the audience wanted to see the wrestlers wrestle.
It makes me wonder about the future of the name WrestleMania.
By the way, I've seen multiple people give "*****" to Trips/Taker and I want to slap them all.

But Vince's ego is too big for that. He must conquer new media and diversify until he controls everything! I'm not saying he's a power freak, because I'd probably be twice as bad in his position.
I don't think I'd even give Undertaker vs HHH ****. It had great storytelling and acting, but the match was basically finishers, chairshots and spots.
I told my bro after the match, that this is what Undertaker matches at WM have become.
Don't get me wrong, it was exciting and it gets ***3/4 from me, but it lacked actual wrestling.
I had the same problem with Taker/HBK II last year.
People have just taken it too far. I've never seen a match overrated so quickly. So many folks have put it over the HBK matches and even the sacred triple threat from XX.
I bet if you take the Triple H Tombstone away everyones opinion would drop tenfold.

So many folks have put it over the HBK matches...
Erm, who precisely? Show who they are and their families' bang in trouble.
Here's some quotes from WF:
Taker vs. HHH - ***** (This is my current favourite match ever, just ticked every box I look for.)
I watched Undertaker/Hunter for the third time, and... It's a classic. Storytelling at its finest. Comfortably better than WrestleManua 25 and slightly lesser than WrestleMania 26 in terms of in-ring action but it's not far off either.
The Undertaker vs. Triple H @ WrestleMania XXVII ~ ***** (all the way!)
Comparing it to the Michaels matches, I'd say, WrestleMania 26 > WrestleMania 27 > WrestleMania 25.
*****
Overall, I’d go as far in saying this is Triple H’s best match ever
*****
I would bump it up to ***** and put it above WM 25 match.
I enjoyed it more than both HBK/Taker matches
This is an instant classic, and this is better than HBK/Taker from last two years.
:faceplm:
I can't believe some people think their 26 match was better than their 25 one.
But yeah, some silly quotes there. I guess it is all opinion in the end, but still...

Andy, what is that forum of which you speak? WF? I must pay those cunts a visit sometime.
I preferred 26 over 25 (Taker vs. HBK), just because of the significance of the match - it was heart-in-mouth stuff at times, and you knew so much was riding on it.
Based on the match itself, I'd have to watch them back, but yeah - 26 is above it in my mind just because of what it meant.

Yeah I know what you mean, retirement matches are always great, particularly for one of my all time favs the H.B.K.
But in terms of quality, I'd go with WM25. That was the perfect one on one. No chair shots behind the refs back, no low blows, no bs atall - just two faces doing everything they could do in THAT VERY RING!
Yeah.
You're a mark for him, Andy. Can you tell me why Morrison is such a pussy?
He used to be a gymnast.
Andy, what is that forum of which you speak? WF? I must pay those cunts a visit sometime.
WrestlingForum.
I know you love Trish, so surely you're thinking that Morrison is an idiot here?
Especially as the reason he was being a douche is for a woman who disrespects him to no ends.
Matt on WrestlingForum would be funny. Just don't mention my name if you go there please.

I dunno, I've just ignored the report for the most part. All I know is Trish has said he's given her the cold shoulder. Whether it's because Melina felt that should've been her spot I can't say. Would be hilarious and stupid if so, considering Melina's a heel and not even the Divas champion got on the card.
The chances are Melina won't even have a job in a few weeks. I understand Morrison is just standing by her, but he needs to realise she's in the wrong.

LMAO You could see Justin Roberts was itching to get in on the act.
:(
So that is it for Edge. He had a great career. Definitely a great entertainer.

I can't believe I didn't notice his likeness to Willem Dafoe until now.
They're like bros.
Sad to see Edge retire, never gonna forget him though, first time saw him on WM15, when Taker beat Bossman in HIAC match and he came on top of the cell with Christian & Gangrel.
It'd be a fairytale story if Christian faced Del Rio in the main event at Extreme Rules and won the world title as a tribute. Then Edge comes in the ring and they have a tearful celebration to close the show. Book it Vince you senile cunt.
LOL if R-Truth is in the last match.
It would have been Morrison in the main event if he didn't suffer a case of cold shoulders.
Making it fatal-4-way with Punk and Orton included would've been preferable.
True. Although Punk could be dead, as there was no mention of him at all.
People are saying that R-Truth is only in the match to take the fall. Yeah, but so what? He's in a WWE title match on PPV. He's going to get some offense in. There is no downside for him and they wouldn't have been one for Morrison had he not followed Melina's orders.

Okay, what the hell precisely happened there? Was I not paying attention to that match and something freaky happened? I've heard all this talk of Johnny Nitro 'snubbing' Trish, but what does that mean??
Melina felt (for some crazy reason) that Trish being in the 6-person WrestleMania match has held her back, and cost her a place on the card. Especially with it being the opportunity to tag with her boyfriend. Morrison's decided to stick by his gal by ignoring Trish and giving her the cold shoulder.
So really Trish has done absolutely nothing wrong and since she's the golden girl, WWE will punish the pair for unprofessionalism as they see fit. For JoMo, that's a depush back to floundering in the midcard. For Melina? Probably get future endeavoured.

Good. From lots of accounts, Melina is a bitch anyway.
Just finished watching Raw, and man was I sideswiped by Edge's announcement. :crymore:
I grew up watching him perform in an incredibly entertaining Tag division, and I'll never forget the battles between Egde & Christian against the Hardyz and Dudley Boyz. Wow, that really put a dampner on the evening. I guess as long as he's safe now, and free from further injury that's the most important thing. I'm sure he'll still be getting well paid from the WWE for many many years to come for his service, merchandise, DVDs, possibly a representative etc etc.
On another note, I thought Raw was actually a very good show too, and the crowd were great for the most part - albeit a little depressed at the start of the gauntlet match. I was thinking it might have been nicer to have Edge's sendoff as the final moment on Raw, but I'm not sure.

I dare say that won't be the last of it. They'll probably have somekind of goodbye episode with him handshaking/hugging everyone in the ring at the end of the show.

Great, now we probably have to put up with Edge going in the HOF next year. Maybe in ten years, but there's still older guys far more deserving.
There's a WM in Toronto isn't there soon, so probably that year. I liked Edge in his early years. I don't like the amount of World titles he's won but that's more to do with wrestling in an era of shit wrestlers/lack of competition. There's a lot more people more deserving of a HOF spot but I would say he's more deserving than a few already in there.

Yeah it'll probably be Triple H or The Rock next year. I sense a trend where Vince wants to induct as the marquee name someone who is still closely connected to wrestling or recently retired for contemporary relevance. We've had it with Michaels, now he's probably got Triple H, The Rock, Undertaker and Edge lined up for subsequent years.

He won way too many World titles, but it was because of his ultimate opportunist gimmick more than anything else. They overplayed it so much, that Edge actually lost a lot of fans.
Great career though, I don't think anyone can argue that.

It's in Miami next year and The Rock is already booked for the main event, so I think he's a lock to headline the HOF.
Yeah, Edge should've definitely closed Raw.
As for too many title reigns, eh, possibly, but I think that made up for the fact that we waited so FUCKING long for his first to come along, and it was my favourite WWE moment...ever, when he did.
I love how kayfabe goes out of the window, to some extent, when stuff like this happens. Seeing him hug Dolph backstage was a nice touch.
R-truth turns heel and and the crowds who are ya? chants

Truth heel turn has been needed for a while now. He's not interesting as a face atall, so generic with the '<city name> what's up?!?' malarkey.
Sky cut this from Raw:
Spoilers if you haven't seen the show yet

The video has been removed, but I guess you're referring to the smoking scene?
I honestly thought the heel turn was beyond immense. I don't particularly hold my standards too high, and I'm not overly critical with WWE, which is why I enjoy watching it every week just about. It's popcorn fun. I was genuinely buzzing seeing the R-Truth heel turn though, it was pretty much perfectly played. He just looks like a crack head.
I'm assuming the whole smoking scene was pre-organised as they mentioned it in the pre-match promo beforehand?
Yeah, it was the smoking scene.
I enjoyed the heel turn because it consisted of Morrison getting owned. You can never get enough of that.
The smoking scene was pre-organised. They are getting a lot of heat for it now. "Bad example" comments

Everything about the turn was brilliant.
Obviously Morrison was pretty average at best on the mic, but it was enough to get the point across and at least what emotion there was in the pre-match promo portrayed that they were previously good friends. So they get a tick for that, as shaky as it was. The match itself was good enough and it's nice to see other superstars getting more airtime too.
But the heel turn was definitely the highlight of Raw for me. Sure people can say the smoking sets a bad example, but that's the whole damn point. Truth's now a heel, hence why kids will hate him and everything associated with him - including smoking. It's a great strategy, but I guess people like to moan about anything. I just wonder whether it'll be a regular part of his act now, strolling to the ring with a pack of cigs in his pocket, takes a smoke before getting in the ring? Obviously it may be hit and miss in terms of the arenas he's allowed to do this in as some may be more stringent than others.
I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing him on the next show though.

Ridiculous. Kiddies aren't meant to imitate the heel. Some people are just massively moronic.
I think the point was that for his whole WWE run thus far, kids have been imitating R-Truth (those that know him ¬_¬) as a babyface. It's not like he's been a heel the whole time, it happened in the space of fifteen minutes.
It's still fucking retarded, granted. People will complain about anything.
R-Truth turning heel, drinking & smoking :faceplm:
WUTS UP!
...I mean, wrong, with that?
So are we looking forward to the draft tonight?
I am guessing that the big ones will be Orton to Smackdown and Del Rio to Raw.
Hopefully the draft will make this show as good as Tough Enough this week.
So the draftees were:
Raw
-Alberto Del Rio
-Big Show
-Rey Mysterio
Smackdown
-Mark Henry
-Randy Orton
-Sin Cara
I don't know whether this improves Christian's chances on Sunday or not.
If I were to guess the supplementary draft I'd say Bryan, Kidd and one or two of Nexus to Smackdown, Clay, McIntyre and one or two of the Corre to Raw.
On Christian chance:
^ It definitely improves his chances, but with Christian, you can never say it will happen.
R-Truth stole the show with his promo. Wow. I never knew he had that within him.
Kinda had a feeling Cena will staying.
R-Truth stole the show with his promo. Wow. I never knew he had that within him.
You're tellin' me, I was absolutely loving it. He played to the crowd so perfectly it was awesome to watch.
He was right in everything he said though, and I guess that's why it's even better because people connect with it more but don't like accepting the truth (no pun intended).
"Ya'll are pissin' me the hell off!"
 Always funny seeing the censors way off when they're speaking.
But yeah, Truth really did draw some crowd heat last night and I think he's surprising everybody right now. WWE must be so over the moon with how this heel turn is progressing, probably better than they could have imagined initially.
I really did enjoy Raw this week, possibly the most consistent all year so far. Even the Sir Michael Cole () segment was funny, albeit a touch too long, but I'm admittedly a fan of Cole's it has to be said. When he stumbled to the corner and Swagger plonked down the stool and began patting him with the towel, it really did make me laugh, it was just well worked. When I was watching JR lay the smackdown on him I was honestly thinking 'some of these shots do look a little stiff' - and then Cole reappears on camera with bloody pouring out of his mouth.
Later in commentary with Cole looking like Marlon Brando:
"I hit him with my head"
