Aight People,

This here thread is simple. I've seen enough mixed opinions in this year's PES, more so than any year.

By Wednesday, people will have tried the demo and since the demo will be the final build, we shall know if old faithful has returned or not.

But during this long wait, I want to know based on all you know at this moment, whether you think PES is back this year or not. Vote, post a comment, whatever you want.

I just want to know the concencus of this rather intelligent forum.

I know it might not blow me away, but i think i'll finally have a football game good enough to play for the first time since 2006

I have no faith whatsoever. I wish I did but the last few games seem to have been going in the complete wrong direction to where I'd hoped they'd go.

I think it will be an improvement.

From watching the videos of it i think

A) It will be easier to score
B) The ball seems to move to far ahead of the player when running with the ball. I think 2009 had this issue.

Just my observations, wont know for sure till i play it.

Cant wait!

my faith comes from the fact that it cant be any less enjoyable for me than PES2010

I always have faith. If the game disappoints, well, patience.

the mlo was shockingly bad, fairplay that the animations have been tightened up and the response times have been improved,
the penalty system is still the same so its really piss taking to have one.
and my worse critiscism is that it is still waaay too easy to score, maybe konami still have the casual gamer in mind, ill give it a miss this year or i might buy it if it goes in the bargain bin in my local cex store :)
ill end up buying fifa simply because its soo much more balanced :)

Think the fact is if FIFA wasn't so good then we wouldn't be so picky about PES, but because FIFA has been the daddys the last few years it's hard to see KONAMI bringing a PES out that can hold off the muscle of EA!

Pes this year looks like a class act. The only thing that worries me is the AI. If it has similar difficulty as Pes 5 and 6 I will be more than happy. If it dousn“t then there“s not football game for me this year. The battle between Pes and Fifa always reminds me of the similarity in the world of music. Let“s say ummm,, N“sync VS Travis. N“sync sold probs over 20 million copies in their career and Travis sold at most 6 million. Obviously Travis is a band with more talent than N“sync but why did N“sync sell more records?

waiting for PES demo and final release is always exciting every year, I was FIFA player since 1994 and swapped it on 2004 (PES 3) and never get back. I always enjoyed more PES expectations that FIFA's, hope this year is a standpoint such as were Fifa: RTWC 98 and PES 6 for myself.

This is the most excited I've been about a PES release since PES 6! I just can't wait to try it out!!!

The big test will be if I'm still loving it after a couple of months though. I only saw the faults in PES 2010 after a good few weeks of play. I'm still playing it now but there are many things that frustrate me on the game.

I'm hoping the new freedom of passing and the new defence system will make every game seem fresh and new! And I hope the AI is a lot better!!

I'd say overall I'm cautiously optimistic about PES 2011.

This really is a shit or bust year, in my heart I want it to work out but there's always this side of me just sitting there waiting to be devastated again.

That's one of my main gripes about PES 2010! :realmad:

Please don't tell me you can score with about 50% of your long shots still? :crymore:

I had tons of faith weeks back, but I'm slowly getting more and more concerned.

It does seem miles better than PES2010...but as mentioned in this thread, I'm really concerned how difficult the game will be...

If it's still too easy to score I'll be devastated as then I might have to consider not getting a football game for the first time since 1996. I will not get Fifa, I've learnt my lesson with fifa too many times now.

I feel the same. I voted "Not 100% but a right step", so I still have some faith. I'll be buying this on release day. I think/hope it'll be more playable than the last couple of games. In which case, if Master League is as good as last year, I'll be playing this for months.

However, if this turns out to be rubbish again, any future potential PES purchases will have to be made on the cheap. I can't be spending £35-£40 a year for a substandard product.

After switching to fifa in 2008 I have been looking forward to the day when I can look forward to a pes game as much as I did last gen, finally this is the case this year. Manual passing has finally been implemented onto the pass button rather than analogue, this is a big thing for me personally.

Earlier on I woted Not 100% - but these floating shots/goals that are coming in already, has me kind of worring... :o(
Especially that Villa bycicle volley dosn't make a really good statement for PES11. Here's hoping it was a one-in-a-million shot/goals he made there - but I doubt it unfortunately...
