You can transfer all the kits and faces from PES 2010 to PES 2011, that saves a lot of the leg work when making the O/F, after that, is just a matter of making the transfers and creating any new players (which should now be easier with the re-introduction of the base player) :)

Gotcha to both goalgerd and valroy. I knew about the transfer option from 2010-2011 my problem will be that i made two fantasy teams for my brother and me and if i transfer them over ( i believe i overwrote PES and WE United) then ill have to overwrite the made up teams for my new option file so I am kind of stuck right now as to what to do

Chimps will be doing a full gameplay edit again with this file,i havent mentioned ligue 1 or eredivise because they are fully licenced so i dont have to edit them team wise:)

Its last years file. It has a description of what my game play changes were and their effect and the response and feedback they got.

This isnt something I just go and do without thought. I spend a lot of time playing matches between a lot teams and keep editing them until the games are as realistic, challanging and enjoyable as is possible with the current game engine. I have been doing it since PES5

found a big problem after konami 1.1 update, all the players ive created for the 36 teams in edit mode have been defaulted to their nationality they were before i edited them, so for example michael ballack at leverkusen is italian instead of german and so onl with all of the players, i dont think il bother fixing them as it will happen everytime konami release an update

file will be delayed now because of this to maybe early next week

Having read what people are saying about applying patches to the option files and not saving them and still being able to use them, I wonder if you can use option files from previous versions ie 1.0 on 1.1 without getting the message that it is from a different version.

If that were the case you could back up your OF, apply the DLC patch and then copy the OF back onto the PS3 and you would have lost nothing

For a few of the players from the Classic teams (e.g. Bobby Charlton, John Barnes, Marco Van Basten) I see a message across their faces saying 'no data'. And it looks like from the numbers assigned to the face scans in the file that everything from 127 - 294 is missing (don't know if that's intentional?)

You can always buy online from UK retailers. You usually pay less there, can use the best OFs AND receive the game before its release in NA.

if you are having problems with faces,just go to edit mode and pick the player you want to fix and click on face then hit triangle to default face back to the default face

The game will be a lot more difficult, but more enjoyable

I have nearly finished the premier league. Playing games between the teams is more difficult and the opposition have more chance of scoring, but there is something lacking, so I will continue trying to get it right before moving onto Italy and Spain.

I think there will be incremental game play updates as I add league and tweak the game further.

1/4 of italian teams now finished and after doing Inter and AC Milan I went back to have a look at the english teams.

The reason I was struggling to get it right when doing the english league is that even the top teams seem to have lower movement stats - agility, response, dribbling speed etc that the italian ones.

Wasnt until I switched between editing league I noticed it. Will hope fully have Italian, English and Spanish leagues done at weekend and will release a beta.

yes all of the ones needed, none of the players in the 36 created teams will disappear after any further konami update as every player is either base copied or created from scratch in the defaulted team

Will I be able to search players by nationality in Master league, and be able to find them easily enough that way?

I am assuming it is just the created players that have messed up.

I haven't downloaded the OF yet, I will do later today. I don't mind editing them myself, I would just like to know what and how it needs to be done.

Will I be able to search players by nationality in Master league, and be able to find them easily enough that way?

I am assuming it is just the created players that have messed up.

I haven't downloaded the OF yet, I will do later today. I don't mind editing them myself, I would just like to know what and how it needs to be done.

if you edit them, when the next update comes out they will all default again,and it will happen to every filemakers file without them realising.
its not that big a deal just type in the players name you are looking for and youll find them in the database,all stats,age height weight done and il add all the face and hair apps when chimps is finished his gameplay edits

Well, I could finally play some matches for the first time and I only have to thank you goalgerd for your hard work. The only thing that I really didn't like, If you allow me, were the stadiums. I though you were going to include some real stadiums, with real names etc now that the game has a stadium editor and there are some modders doing a great job recreating real world stadiums.

Aside from that small detail I'm really enjoying and I'm glad for your guys taking the time to do that for us. Thanks a lot!

yeah this is true, although you do only have 12 championship teams, which means the other 6 teams in D2 when you start a ML could get promoted and end up in the premier league.

I think 18 championship teams would have been more authentic for full english leagues. Good job on you file :D

The only thing that worries me a little as I think has been mentioned before, is wrong teams finding their way into wrong competitions. Maybe you could add some more European teams that are close to competing in the Champions League/Europa League? eg. PFC Levski Sofia/FK Partizan Belgrade/FC Dinamo Bucuresti/BATE Borisov maybe? Just an idea... Keep up the great work guys!!!

If you are looking not only for kits/stadiums but also the most realistic gameplay experience I think you will be very happy here (bear in mind that chimps always tweaks looking for realism so If you prefer a more arcade or ping pong gameplay you probably won't enjoy this one that much).

1) Faster (but more realistic) game speed; or
2) Slower paced game but broken player animations

So since I'm all for realism I would like to know what settings should I have for the gameplay speed to enjoy your gameplay edit the way you intend to be.

Thanks again for your hard work and yes, youre getting faster every year, I remember when we had to wait for way more than 2 months after the game release to have your first gameplay edit.

Looking forward to your Ligue 1 edit since it's my primary league.

Download the file and try it. To install the game play side of this takes about 1 minute, try that and I am sure you will prefer it and then install the rest of the patch and see goalgerds excellent work.

IMHO I can't see how anyone would prefer the default game play. Konami have made some changes and looking at the stats this year I can see what they have done, but it's half arsed. Some leagues have had the changes made to all the teams and some to half the teams.

Look at the stats of the Valencia team and look at the teamwork and aggression of their players in the default konami OF and look at most of the other teams in la liga. They have completely missed Valencia out in updating their game play. Someone must have been responsible for each league as the english league has different stat changes again

Thanks for the feedback. I wrote the game on speed setting 0, so its not surprising it seems best on that.

To get the game as smooth on slower settings you would need to edit the agility and response of players, which would take ages and then you would have to counter that with other changes.

If I were you, I would try to enjoy the game at 0

Its a pit this wasn't for the PC as I could release multiple versions like I used to. Changing the game play for all players used to take seconds, instead of months

Yeah I played some games on 0 and it is by far the best one, I think It won't be too hard to get used to.

One more question that I forgot to ask before, should I play on Pro or Top?

I'm asking because some times when you edit stats and gameplay if you don't play with a certain difficulty all the changes don't work well together, of course Top is harder than Pro (should be at least) but which one will give the best results?

when i get file back il add these 4 teams to be replacing the all star teams and the ml default team,they be young boys,rapid vienna ,debrecen and odense. ive all the info ready for them just waiting on chimps to finish his bit of the file

il also add more young players who are missing,add copa lib players for ML update all national team lineups ,add celebrations,fix formations, squad numbers, apps and boot assignments

he uses 5 years of knowing the konami database , its not just of picking random players from each team, he is changing every player in the database so they play like real players not just cpu ai . just download the edit file ( 1file) and try it:)

p.s , ive been buying world soccer mag since 1999, i watch all leagues around europe( about 6 -8 live games) the rest highlight programmes a week on espn, eurosport, sky ,rte and setanta. i also watch most world football on the internet, im an addict and i wont play pes unless what im making matches real life:blush:

I only ask as its quite an undertaking editing players and teams to a realistic spec, - it must require an unbelievable eye for attention to detail. Personally I'm not sure how easy it is to achieve with teams that play quick-quick-slow football, can Konami even accomodate that?

I'm an avid World Soccer reader myself, got a two year subscription for half price and its the best investment I've made in years. I've been reading the magazine since 1992 - got a few years (and grey hairs!) on you my friend. Glad to find a like minded fellow though!

Seen first hand most teams in the championship and premier league play and have always took an interest in other leagues outside the uk.

I have been editing the game for years starting of on the pc where people make global stat changes using 3rd party editors to apply changes to all players in the game. Over the years editing has progressed as peoples understanding has got better, but majority of people just make wholesale changes to things like speed and shooting in all players. Over the years I have moved away from this type of editing and started concentrating more on how the opposition play as well as how your own players move and fine tuning the balance of game.

When I moved to the PS3 I didn’t set out to create option files but because the first version on the PS3 were poor, I found myself trying editing it and before long realised I could edit one league in few hours. Because I need to edit each player individually on the PS3, I end up with a much better option file than blindly apply global stat changes to all players.

The changes I make are more designed to make the game play realistic and enjoyable rather than to perfectly represent every player in the game. There is some people who will spend ages coming up with stats that they think accurately reflects a player, but this often doesn’t take into account how the game interprets these stats and even if it perfectly did, unless they then go through every other player and make the same level of changes the effect on the game play of that team is very small, let alone the game play to the entire game and after even doing all that, they is no gaurantee that the game play will improve,

I set out to improve the game by changing what I think it needs which in this version is to balance the gap between small and big teams ( as it is every year), improve responsiveness, give fast attackers the ability to stay ahead of slow defenders and to increase the difficulty of top player and finally to then balance the speed of the game.

Along the way the vast majority of players will be given much more accurate stats as the majority of players in the game who are not at top clubs are unresponsive, don’t have AI that will make them a challenge to play against and if they are a striker, they will be painfully slow and unable to shoot, which makes then rubbish to play with and against as they cannot score against you.

As well as this the players at top clubs who I think have been given wrong stats are changed with some being improved and some super human players being brought down.

I then test the game a great deal with games between teams in each league and then between teams from different leagues and fine-tune it. This takes the most time as having a one player running or passing the ball too fast by as little as 1 or 2 can unbalance games.

I work in software production for a company that has major releases of world wide available products and know how surprisingly little concentration is given to very big annual releases that the company depends on as they think adding a few new features will keep people interested. I know what you mean regarding the stats, originally I tried to edit as many players as possible to give the game the right feel but it took too long. I then realised at Top player the AI seems to 'bend' these stat so what you are doing and have done on the previous PES' makes sense.

I bet you do -- I also bet that the person working on stats isn't playtesting his numbers, and I'll also bet that he doesn't work particularly closely with the developers who are changing what those numbers mean for gameplay on a week-to-week basis.

I've been saying for years now that Konami need to treat the fan editors like a full FIFA license (because, in practice, you are); and now I can add like a gameplay developer as well.

I bet you do -- I also bet that the person working on stats isn't playtesting his numbers, and I'll also bet that he doesn't work particularly closely with the developers who are changing what those numbers mean for gameplay on a week-to-week basis.

I've been saying for years now that Konami need to treat the fan editors like a full FIFA license (because, in practice, you are); and now I can add like a gameplay developer as well.

Thanks for the hard work on this, I'm struggling to remain patient for the new release before starting my Master League!

I've no doubt that the people who make this game have NO real football experience and are just gameplay monkeys.

This is why time after time they struggle to replicate the game and apply common sense!

Playing the game back, I think the extra time I have spent on the French and Dutch league has payed off. I am happier with them than the other leagues as the speed feels better.

Just been playing against Lyon and couldnt beat them with Inter, Man City, Valencia or AC Milan. I don't remember specifically making them good and their not that easy to play with, but almost unstoppable playing against them on top player

Yeah, all the normal leagues have been done, though I will probably revist some of the teams in them as going back to the big clubs in the premier and italian league, some may be a little too fast.

The game seems to now play best on -1 speed. This seems ideal until you use a team like Man City and they seem a little too fast.

It is not correct on mine. Blackpool had the everton away jersey (pink strip cheng markings) on top of their orange jersey. If anyone knows the exact kit strip number i can do it manually myself by assigning it. I just can't find it for those teams mentioned above.

yes all of the ones needed, none of the players in the 36 created teams will disappear after any further konami update as every player is either base copied or created from scratch in the defaulted team

I wondered how the game felt different and Ajax, Man City and AC Milan didnt feel like they did.

I have also slightly changed some formations. Not much just moved some players slightly to make them play better.

Just want to give a thank you in advance, I haven't had the chance to try the OF yet, but your approach to doing the option file, and the effort that you put in to it is really cool.

If you have the time to answer a few questions I would appreciate it:

1) How do you recommend doing ingame/pregame tactical changes with the option file? I might want to take different opponents on with differing tactics, but will that f* up the changes that you made?
Or can I for example muck about with formation and tactics, but leave team style without it interfering with your work?

Does "Face Data 023" show up as a generic PlayStation data icon for anyone else? All my other facial data shows as thumbnail images except "023". Just want to make sure I'm not going to see an empty face out there, LOL.
