Creating emblems...

Could anyone be kind enough and explain how to create emblems?
My problem is that after I copy the .png to the hard drive, I can't get rid of the white background behind the emblem. I don't know if I'm making any sense to you guys, so I hope someone would explain how to create emblems.

I may be wrong but i believe the best way is to use a PNG with transparent background? :happy:

yes you need to create the .png on a transparent background, this is done in photoshop and I think in gimp to
