This is my first time to play PES online & just played seven games on the bounce & I got beat in all games ( by a single goal ). I wanted to pick a fairly average team as I know most people just pick Barca or Inter ( I've been using Ajax ). I played two matches against Barca, two against Inter. There's a few things that have been frustrating me, the opposotion close you down so quickly that you hardly have anytime on the ball, the goalkeepers do a lot of stupid things that cost you goals & games:( & the passing has been tricky to get to grips with. Has anyone else experienced this cos its been drivin me nuts

i see where you're coming from, theres no easy answer to winning, it's all in the practice and figuring the best ways to score. i've played about a dozen games online and not met barca or inter once yet, got beaten by sweden in one match tho.
my advice when playing with a weaker side, don't play risky passes and be patient

I'm shite online I really am. It's a big laggy atm, don't know if that's me or the server. I have played 6 games won 1 and drawn 6, 5 of the 6 I drew 0-0.
I think I'm pissing people off though as I get battered for 90 mins in most games but they can't unlock the door. The game I drew 1-1 Inter v Real Madrid (me as Inter) Ronaldo scored in the 10th minute, I was pinned back in my own penalty box for the rest of the game before scoring a breakaway goal in stoppage time. Happy days, at least I can say I'm still unbeaten.

Ok just had another few games online and I'm thinking I was playing it all wrong. I'm using the 2nd player press button almost all the time now when I don't have the ball and keeping my controlled player close by to mop up the tackle if it comes in. Not pinned back as much now but by doing this I'm taking more risks, won a couple of games now though.
I was playing it too much like MS against the CPU, holding back and waiting for my chance to tackle. Now it's a case of "get stuck in and win the ball early" which has it's pros and cons.

I would recommend playing online friendly matches to get the learning curve guys. I've been doing that and just played my 1st ranked match and won 2-0. If it works for me it should work for you, It's all about getting to know the game. Happy playing lads.
online is a lagfest its worse than last year..last year i had a couple of games without the lag but this years its been awful.
Played some, won 1, lost some, drew some.
First 2 matches, no lag.
After that, lag and pretty much of it. That's a shame though. Players react differentlty and both sides do stupid things because of it. I'm looking forward to more online time, but hopefully lag will fade a bit...
