Right, as I couldn't find a similar thread on the MLO on this forum I thought it be a great idea to start one. As it takes a while before you can buy some of the top players it would be good if we could share some of our cheap but good signings.
I have just started my MLO a few days ago and really like it. I never really bothered with the online componend of the previous titles because I put all my time in the ML offline. I chose Everton as my team which looks absolutely solid thanks to daymos' OF.
I released some of the expensive players and gathered enough money to buy Hulk and Cahill. I would recommend Hulk to everyone because he is immense on the ball, really hard to knock of and can produce some mindblowing shots. Cahill I'm not to glad about as he seems to lack the speed and balance to get himself in a good scoring position. I've been palying him as an CF so maybe he does better as an AMF.
After releasing some more players I bought Fellaini and what a cracker he is. I put him as a CF and he just keeps scoring. I just bomb the sides with Hulk and Castolo and cross the balls for fellaini to head them home. He has scored every game for me so far.
So far I have played around 10 quick matches, won 6, drawn 1 and lost 3. My most impresive win was against some guy who had sneijder, ibra and agbonlahor up front. I managed to beat him with 3-2 with Fellaini scoring the third goal from a bicycle kick in the last minute.
I did my first competition yesterday, won 6 and lost 2, but I came across a parasite who just scored 3 own goals to get the money. Thought I did pretty good but finished 221! Guess I need more practice with this new game. I'm looking for a new midfielder and dribbler. Anyone has a suggestion for some good and cheap ones?
So far so good. Been playing it for around 10 days now, only entered one competition so far.
First signing was Pastore, then I got Valeron but sold him in order to fund a transfer for Veloso.
Got around £700,000 left.
Overall record is 33 wins,, 6 draws and 4 defeats. In division 4, and definitely looking at promotion.

Also got Zairi and Dirar pretty soon. From there I moved on to buy Legus and Gobbi, as AMF and DMF. CMF was pretty hard to find, I went with Valdo.
After that I bought my 2 best buys after Quag: Douglas and Rozenhal, both class defender with 185 cm height. No long pass comes through. Plus both are coming with my corners, and Douglas already scored 4 goals!
As backs I got Hempte (LB) and Oliviere (RB).
Since then I've been upgrading my CMF to Matuzalem and my AMF to Basturk.
Only a default keeper Ivarov, planning to release him soon.
I see no needs to buy new full backs, Ruskin and El Moubarki are superb.

Is there a way of making more money!? only had afew games and drawn them all and all the teams I play have real players! heard someone say if you release players you get funds!? only got 750,000 or summit shit like that lol

Im doing ok, started to win some games as I've found a formation that works with the players I've got. The only original player that makes my starting line up now is Ruskin. I have cashed in all the other original players and got some much better players in now.
Im loving the MLO, and I'm happy that the servers seem to be able to handle the play unlike previous years on Pro Evo. I've only had 1 laggy match so far.

You've got to remember that it takes your best 3 consecutive results.... so if you WWLLWDW... then it'll take the Win Draw Win results....
The 3-0 own goal thing is very annoying, but they get booted out if they do it more than once - and I think Konami may introduce something that means after one game like this they get booted. (And it gives you a win and lots of points and helps your goals for! But it is annoying).

I have only played a couple of matches in MLO, not joined a ML yet.
Still have all my standard players but I know what to do now!

That explains the 221th place as I did this: WWLWWLWW.. Better luck next time, has anyone else noticed that it's quite hard to sign in to an competition. One moment the whole room is empty, three seconds later it's full. Didn't Konami count on us buying and actually playing the game?

I have been lucky and got into every tourney i have tried entering. just got knocked out in the semi finals of the D5 Cup, after losing 2-0 with 10 men. had a crazy run, but was helped alot by the idiots that kept doing teir own goal thingy (get a life boys)!! i have signed rustu in goal, and bought 2 strikers.. Remy and Cacau, recommend them both. got pace and a good finish
Do own goal idiots not get punished? Ridiculous! Although it is quite nice getting the money for a 1 min game watching my opponent score own goals!

Well you all seem to be doing a lot better than me. Only bought one player so far and that was Agi Pakirani as he used to always score for me in the previous PES's.
Have only played four games so far and lost them all, 4-0 to someone who actually had a load of good players so destroyed me, then 2-1 to Man Utd which was a bit annoying as they scored two in a minute to win. Have lost the other two 1-0 and one of those was because my keeper ran 40 yards out to a through ball in the 90th minute and gave the opposition an easy open goal.
Don't know if I'm just rubbish at the game at the moment or if everyone else is just really good but I am not enjoying losing all the time at the moment, hopefully I'll get my first win sometime soon.

I have been playing forever now, sort of speech, on the MLO and yesterday night... after just having enough on this mode... I chose to go bankrupt and start from scratch!
It truly sucks that you have to pay money to just challenge another player (this amount being always between 30,000 to 45,000) and then what? If you draw a game you only get back 5,000 or so when playing away!!!
QUICK REMARK: It is unfair for people that just purchased this game recently to see that Messi (which was valued at 9,000,000... now... has reached nearly the 11,000,000) and that you hardly make any money even if you win home or / and away matches. When are you going to be able to have a team of stars? Probably never!
You just truly need to be REALLY patient as you know you will rely on crappy players like Castolo, Espimas e Minanda for a very long time... and I mean a very long time!!!
Before I chose to go bankrupt yesterday night I had disputed 42 games and had picked Chelsea as my team. Not really one of my most satisfactory campaigns: 17 Wins -- 5 Draws -- 20 Losses I guess Abramovic's money ran out!!! :realmad:
Most of the goals I suffered were completely ridiculous and my defense was just pathetic.... they would have more luck in a circus rather than on a pitch! As a plus... how the hell can you win against players that have already the likes of Poldoski, Hulk, Kherzakov, Lham and others in the same team??? In the mean time... you're stuck with your UNHIREABLE TEAM: Iouga, his brother and his friends!
I am giving one more shot to this mode and that's that... after all... what's the fun of playing with a crappy team while others have much better teams than you and you just can't cope with a one-team man simply because you cannot rely on the majority of your players!!!
You may sell nearly half your team and then hire one great player... however... experience tells me that a Robben or a Villa or a Kaka... won't make much of a difference when you are relying JUST IN ONE OF THEM!!! :ninja:

QUESTION TO ALL:
When you declare bankruptcy and start the MLO from scratch... does this mean your position in the MLO Ranking also is resetted to default or do you keep the same one you had before you decided to declare bankruptcy?

The last few days have been going absolutely horrific. After I promoted to the 4th division things have just gone sour. I played 12 games and only managed to win 3! Hell, my statistics are beginning to look like that of an "own goal poacher". Fellaini scored a lot for me being in the CF position but the last few days I didn't even managed to get the ball up to him.
I had one very nice game in a competition 2 days ago. I was with my mate (he wanted to see if the game was any fun) and I was up against a guy who had villa, ibra, chiellini and so on.. Kick off; the guy passes to his keeper and wants to shoot in his own goal, but shoots over lol. I have a corner out of which Fellaini headed it in, 1-0. Then the guy puts the game on pause and texts me; "time is money lol" So he begins to run to his own goal again and shoots it in with his gk. So I pause the game and text him; "thats the same thing you're mother told me last night" (I know, just sad and immature but the own goal kids tick me off.) So he pauses the game, and somehow I think I pissed him off because he started to play normal and tried to score. He was absolute shite at the game haha. Had villa, arshavin en ibra up fornt but didnt manage to score. I scored the 3-1 in the 90+ minute, he tried to pause the game but as the time was almost up, the game just ended. I LMAO..

I guess you have to start from scratch again, what else would be the point of declaring bankrupty? Also, if you have some money from players you let go, don't buy 1 good player but buy a few decent ones, I bought Hulk, cahill and Fellaini, makes a massive difference.

I tried with 3 or 4 decent players and those being: Hadji, Kherzakov, Sychev and Kalou, however, no help on the defense department. I am still trying to, with the little money we have at the start of MLO, to purchase 2 decent forwards, 4 decent midfielders and an okay goalkeeper but it seems impossible.

Then click on a player and "release" him... this sells him to the computer for the going rate at the time (unless its one of the original players - thier value stay the same all the time).
Remember you must have at least 16 players in your squad.

I had the day off so figured I could play some MLO. Every single game I played today had lag. Most I got thrown out of because the connection went down. This afternoon however the lag got less end while playing a competition I didn't come across the own goal machines anymore. My mate told me they had fixed it, If you score own goals now you don't get any money from it. However, I played a game against one guy who did the own goal thing against me a few days ago. He still had all the players like C. Ronaldo, Ibra, Villa, Chiellini and cambiasso.. That kind of bothers me, they should reset those unsporting guys.
I curently have £101,567 left :(, I have rinsed this mode since last week. Its so addicitve!
As Spurs, I basically sold all my players down to 16, bought all the £2k players and sold all the better players in the first 11, then invested all my money Ive accumulated so far in:
Hunterlaar £2.8 million- P 78 G 43 A 23
Van Der Vaart £3.3 million- P 60 G 21 A 16
Higuain £5.1 million- P 49 G 44 A 9
Last couple days I have added W. Palacios for £2.4 million, and Trochowski 2.3 milion to strengthen my midfield, gonna save up for Downing/ Milner next. Then start on my defense lol.
Entrance fees, are getting expensive, and I really have to rely on getting in the final 16 for that £400k investment! At the moment I make about 45-50k a match.
After the last update from PES, allmost 80 % matches are laggy. Has anyone the same problem like me? it's realy annoying.

Don't think I need to explain that my defence is the next thing that needs to be tweaked. If anyone has some good suggestions for a decent CB that cames with a low price-tag than please enlighten me! Haven't had to much time to play the game but when I have the time I certainly enjoy this mode the most. Played 50 games so far and won around 55 %, lost 40 % though but my bad start is to blame for that. Lately it's been going better but I occasionaly still have trouble scoring.
Played my best tournament so far yesterday. I won three in a row with 2-0, 1-0 and 1-0. I didn't make it to the next round though because I finished 19th.
I bought Cassano, Iaquinta and Krasic till now.
They’re amazing. Don’t know which position I should reinforce next. Maybe CM(Aquilani) or CB (Chiellini)

Been playing MLO every day after work for a week doing quite well really, currently in division 4 with whats starting to look like a decent team, also made the final of the D4 cup last night but got beat in extra time 1-0:( The main players currently in my team are Rooney, Schevchenko, Gamst Pederson, David Dunn, Gary Cahill and a keeper called De Vlieger, really after a decent defensive mid next. Really enjoying the mode and impressed that Konami now have 2 of the same competitions starting at the same time now no trouble getting in to them.

unable to play this mode. Keep getting a message saying "due to restrictions placed on my connection by the network devices I am using." Anyone know how to fix this? I am able to play online 1v1 just not mlo =/

I made the mistake of playing MLO for about 15 games or so when the game came out then went to doing normal offline ML stuff until today. I was doing good in MLO but now every bodies team has evolved into a decent squad where mine is still default players apart for 3 good players. Basically I got beat in every game I played today which was about 7 games, even off players who were clearly not very skilled.
I thought the match generator would put you up against players at your team level as well as rank but this doesn't seem to be the case as most teams I played were by far superior to mine. This has seriously put me off MLO which at the start I was enjoying :(
I feel sorry for new players.

You have to tell the match finder to find similar player ranks. I think its in the options bit within MLO. It is possible to make it find people that are similar ranked and points level to your team.
First of all, I'm really glad to see Konami mataking the fans serious and have been upgrading the MLO for the last couple of days. Thanks to the 15-10 update there are now 2 competitions instead of the one before the update, making it mcuh easier to get into one. I Played 2 competitions yesterday, 1st I didn't go through as I was 20th. The second however I ended up as 15th and went through to the next round. I was set up against this guy playing Real but the game stayed on the loading screen for a minute, after which I get a message which tells me connection failed and the guy plying Real went through to the next round.. I was virtualy robbed of the win! Never had any probs playing other games online.
However, I have been updating my team and managed to win around 70% of the games I played for the last 2 days. I play a lot of guys who have most of their defaults, and a star such as Ronaldo or Villa, I think it's much better to update your squad slowly, having a balanced team. I am now in the market for a decent LB an RB, have around 300,000 left so it'll be a while untill I can buy one.
I feel the pain of those starting off with a weak squad, & little money. there is also the difficulty of not having enough hours in the day to compete with those sat in front of the TV every day!
I have started letting the coached games run in the background so I can get some chores done (and not get agro!), and although you get mixed results its not too bad.
I don't ever think I will be able to have the time to get up with the big spenders, but we will see! I was fed up pf these 3-0 games when people threw the games for money, I wanted to see what was in it for them, and I think its nothing since the new update so Konami seem to have fixed that!
My final rant is that I got the game the day it came out, and there were already immense teams from people from Spain and Italy - did it come out there first? And thats put us at quite the dissadvantage!

Releasing default players that are worth most. Just have a starting 11 that can hit a ball and buy the players with overall around 20 to fill up the bench. That should net you about 4-5 mil. I see you have VDV so I quess you already did that. Other than that it's just about playing the tournaments and trying to finish as high a possible.

Started playing the MLO yesterday and really enjoyed it but i can't understand how so many users have incredible teams. I'm sure the game only came out a number of days ago? I have a decent record and have won most of the quick games that i have played but am struggling financially. I only managed to get into one competition yesterday which was a D5 cup but it was on coach setting. Needless to say with my team made up the starting players i didnt get very far. Started playing the MLO yesterday and really enjoyed it but i can't understand how so many users have incredible teams. I'm sure the game only came out a number of days ago? I have a decent record and have won most of the quick games that i have played but am struggling financially. I only managed to get into one competition yesterday which was a D5 cup but it was on coach setting. Needless to say with my team made up the starting players i didnt get very far. I'll tell you exactly how the majority of these guys have amazing teams my friend.
They entered competition after competition scoring 3 own goals in the first couple of minutes and getting the gate receipts for it.
Konami have put a stop to this now but haven't punished the people that have abused it up to that point!
In my experience the players with super teams are no good at the game anyway because they haven't been practicising actually playing it.
But its a big cheat that they get to learn to play the game properly with super teams vs default teams!

I have had an awful night in MLO this evening, had a 5 game run with out a win, conceded a last minute equaliser/ winner in 4 of those games. Made about £30,000 lol... However my fortunes have changed currently sat 2nd in D5 Cup, waiting to go to knockout stage, Should net me some good moneys. Higuain finally found his shooting boots for me! Beat one guy 5-0 when it I had 10 (8) shots on goal lol.

HI all
i've been having a good experience in MLO until this evening! played 3 games in which i was winning and between 85 - 90 minute in every game, the match gets abandonded... and i dont get win, the increase in points NOR the gate receipts!!
Has this happened to anyone else?? is there a way of putting a stop to it?!!
im really frustrated!!!
On another note, how do i enter a competition? everytime i go in one, its always full!

I had a shocker mid week last week looked doomed for relegation back to Div 5 but produced some stella performances once Tuncay was in my side. I really like the way you can have a relegation battle or promotion chase towards the end of the week. I'm playing so well that this week I'll be looking to get in to Div 3.

Started today with default players won 1 drew 2 lost 1, the one i lost was to a really crap own goal as well :(
The last few days have gone really bad for me. Somehow I lost about 70 % of the games I played, after destroying a controller because I conceeded the fourth last-minute-shitty-player-switching-cheap-goal, I decided to change things around. Played with the tactics and sliders a bit and the last few games have gone better. I actually made it to the final of the coach tournament. The final however nearly cost me my 2nd controller.
I signed 2 new fullbacks so relegated el mobarki and giersen to the bench. Planning to release Hulk as he's just not bringing it.
I just can't understand how the points work that decide whether you relegate or promote. I started the tournament, of which I made it to the final with 420 points, I lost 1, draw 3 and won 5, and began the final with 445 points. Lost the final from a guy playing eto'o and forlan, amongst other superstars, from a div higher and my rating went 12 points down!! Wtf... So I played a quick match, won and my rating went up 2 points, lost the next quick match, my rating went down 8 points... Both matches were against much better squads.
Still loving this game though, it's so addictive!! Anyone with a good tip about a good winger or ss for around 3 million?
I've been playing MLO intensively for about a week now. I'm in division 4, will probably stay there as I need about 30-40 points for my manager rating thingy by the end of tomorrow to promote to div 3. Don't think I'll get that as I'm off to the champions league tomorrow evening.
Anyway, my main players are Van Der Vaart, Cahill, Luis Garcia, De Vlieger (gk) and one of the fastest (and cheap) defenders in the game called G. Martinez from Costa Rica.
I've been doing allright, won about 35-40% of my games. I don't know how the match attendance works though. Is this related to the opponents' strength? (obviously if you win you get more than drawing or losing).
Another thing that puzzles me is a few days ago I would pay about 40,000 for a quick match and get roughly 80,000 for a win. Now I'm paying about 42,000 to play a quick match and win returns have varied from 110,000 to even 160,000. I just don't get it.

I constantly face people 100 points higher then me (and yes i added same rating in online options).
I have signed Sneijder and Quagliarella so far.
It is either me or how do my opponents always have the ball before i can even receive it properly.
What bugs me off is that all blocks they make always get to a teammate of theirs ...
Meh guess i need more practice :<

I hate that lineup :realmad:. Most of the times I lose to people using that squad lineup and i don´t know why but most of them are from Spain. Although they usually have their wingers and their lone striker a bit further back it seems.

First match was utterly bizzare I played some guy who had better players than me he had some really good forwards and I drew 1-1 with him, he was rated 511 I was rated 500 and I lost 8 points he gained 11 WTF!! I lost points for a draw and my team is crap, my best players are barely 70 rated... then drew another game with some cheap ass player whos tactics consisted of manual passing enormous long balls into my corner flags and trying to rob my defenders, it was like playing against Mick Mcarthy!
Final game got stuffed 4-0 although it was actually pretty close up to the last 30 mins then his forward line of Fabiano, Danny and some other similar rated bloke tore me apart on the counter, he played well tbh but the scoreline was flattering.
Problem im having with the game so far online is that people don't play realistic tactics and formations, I mean the long ball guy had 4 forwards in a straight line in reality that formation would suck, in fact of the 10 odd games Ive played Ive seen maybe 2 or 3 teams playing good formations and those unsurprisingly were the most enjoyable, even the one I lost 4-0 cause it felt like proper football, most of the other teams just use tactics designed to take advantage of flaws in the game engine and end up as boring draws or tight 1 nil wins.
Oh and another thing, most people blatantly give away penalties cause they know most people (me included) have difficulty scoring them. Why dont defenders get automatic red cards for chopping people down in the box? Its like konami decided a penalty was enough and ignored the actual rules. As a final aside anyone know where I can practice penalties cause I cant see them on the training menu?

he was probably in a lower division than you. it's perfectley normal to loose points against lower division players even though they have far more division points than you.

my idea would be get a striker from around 3 mil and one from 2 mil.
You cant win a game with one player, but thats just my idea.
If you're looking in the 5 mil departement I think Higuain should be a good option. I believe however that you should build up you're team slowly, so don't just have al the defaults and buy one top striker. For those 5 mil you could get 3 nice players or 2 good strikers. It makes the MLO a lot more fun to play if you build it up slowly.

Go into training, select practice freekick and pick a spot in the box. Then you can practice as many penalties as you want. They are not so hard actually once you get used to how they work.

A cheap good striker is Erding. Only has 75 overall, but has both the goalgetter and a 1vs1 card. And he is fast.

My CAM was McCarthy of Wigan until I realised that he was 68 OVR at RM. I then signed Craig Gardner to play CAM, and switched the CAM to a CM to give me a more balanced formation and increase Gardner's effectiveness. McCarthy costs around 1 Million.
Oh, and Sammy Clingan is an awesome CM! He scores so many goals in and around the box it's unreal!

At first i played lots of matches with default players not realising
by selling your dross you can make a nice amount of funds for players.
My first signings after selling most of my squad was Alou Diara , Luisao
and Brandao to try and get the spine of my team in place.After that i've
just got my delboy on, selling players for direct replacement then
realising not enough funds to play the the next match :shocking:,then
buying cheapo's (ferenzi overall ability 20:w00t) to up my squad
numbers as so then forced to release players i wanted to get some
funds to actually play a match:D
My best player upto now is by far Brandao
, the guy is a beast and he's scoring ridiculous amounts of goals .The
guy has a serious left foot and class dribbler different class when using
the right analogue stick.
He's that good you can shove your Villa's/Ibra's etc up your ass :D.
No but seriously, im staying well away from the top drawer players
because ,for me anyway's PES always gets boring way to fast when your
using top player's,
also i'm not happy the cup's are 5 minute matches again until the
final,any crappy player can beat you in a 5 minute match.
Not like i've actually even entered a tournament yet though,they never
let me access it.;)

I decided to have a bit of fun with MLO cause I know Im never going to be great, I just dont have enough time to play comps etc. Ive given my team a bit of a Kiwi flavour by bring in Ryan Nelsen as Captain, and young Chris Wood to play up front.
Bought in Harry Kewell as well lol, and a couple of randoms to play in the midfield
(interestingly I could pick players from the whole New Zealand national team in MLO - makes me wonder if Konami are working on bring the National team to offline modes...) Anyway things didnt start well losing my first game 4 - 0, but managed to bounce back in my next quick game winning 2-0... Im hooked i dont think the offline modes will be seeing much attention this year MLO FTW!
so i just got my game today, loving the mlo so far except for the little amount of money i get from 1 game..
sold most of the useless players in the default team and got myself van der vaart and podolski, vdv and gutierezz or w/e his name is have been amazing so far, either scoring or assisting every game...struggling a little with podolski though

Whats the deal with the competitions anytime i try to enter it says i cant enter yet i do this right up till the last minute before the start time, say its 3 oclock then a 3 the games full and i cant get in?
Another gtipe is how effective the through ball is, it seems to work everytime. Wherever its is played from on the park the attacker seems to be through on goal, my defenders act like dummys just stopping and watching the ball go past them without trying to intercept it. I'm hoping this is just because i have the default defenders but if not its a serious flaw in the game. Anytime i play someone online all they do is play through balls, no one tries to play a passing game.

I got to the quartar-finals of the cup (22:00 or so start time) and I got 700K for it :). I should have gotten farther but even though I led shooting 10:1 and possession it went to penalties and those are shit so I lost.
It is so frustrating playing online because I will dominate everything and then a team of defaults will take advantage of clunky/shoddy AI defending and score off a lame cross/header while I shoot off the bar and get deflections everytime.
yea i think the thing witht the tournament games is that its too short, and often i just need to be caught doing some stupid crap once and there goes the game

You have to find a formation that works for you in order to start winning the bunch. You have to let go the way you played pes in the previous years as this years installment is a whole different bal game. My first 50+ games went quite bad as I would just be bombarded from every possible angle. I then found a formation that worked for me although I didn't have the right players to do the job. I use 4-1-3-2 or 4-2-3-1, depending on the opponent I am facing. And be sure to get a decent finisher early on, the default bunch of castolo and gutierezz really isn't up to parr and won't win you alot of matches. Instead save up and buy some decent finishers like elmander and cahill (69 in AMF but +7 in CF!). From there on, just learn from each defeat to see where you need improving the most.
I haven't had much time with the MLO for the last couple of days as I'm having a lot of exams that need my attention. Bought 2 backs whom I really love and were a huge step up from the el moubarki-giersen combo. Berria (by default CB but +1 on the RB) and A. Fathy (DMF by default but +8 on the LB)

so i keep seeing in the news feed that says kaka is the highest priced player on the market,but when i look at market value theres still a few thats ahead of him, does this mean that the players ahead of him are not on the market?

is van persie any good in this game?his stats seems kinda off for me
Van Persie is fine, he is a very good freekick taker and his shoot accuracy is also very good. The only problem is his low balance value (same as Forlan) which makes him easy to tackle which leads to losing the ball.
After a lot of games (played 140) I finally found a formation and playing style that matches the few strenghts I have playing this game. I basicaly play 4-2-2-2. Traded in Felliani for Sissoko and got Juan mata for Hulk, best decision ever. Hulk went out = wins went up. It isn't even that juan mata is such a goal machine, it's just the fact that Hulk plays extremely bad for his stats. I found odemwingie, even that petrobo... guy to play much better then Hulk, even though he has like 15 less overall rating. Ivarov is the last of the defaults that I have, love the guy, will never replace him. I like my team as it is and other then maybe upgrading to a better defender, I really don't need other players anymore. Here's my team as it stands:

Yesterday I found the time, well actually made the time to play a tournament. My first 2 matches went ok, nothing special but managed to win fairly easy, third match however ended in a draw. It was one of those matches were I had 15 shots off which 12 hit target but no goal.. That guy's goalie must've been on steroids that game. I thought, well no biggy, time for three games left. The first two I won 3-0 and 3-1.
Felt fairly confident as I hit the next match button. I was set against a guy who had his default defence, plus a keeper with 50 overall, but had aguero and villa up front. I tinkered around a little with the tactics and stuff, really no clue as to what I was doing but I just like to tinker with the whole slider system. So game begins, he passes to aguero, aguero walks past my defence like their all mentally disabled hunchbacks with the brain capacity of a drooling two year old, and slams it past my beloved Ivarov (who doesn't respond well to that kind of shite in the first 10 seconds of a game!) So what do I do: I attack, no let me refrase that; I try to get to his goal, but the purple ARROWS OF DEATH dangling around mata and baptista's neck don't seem to cooperate. I lost the game 1-0 and really didn't even had a decent shot on target, I mean he had a 50 overall keeper! That's so bad that had I actually managed to get the ball anywhere near him, his suckness at the goal keeping trait had just warped my shot right in the net, but no.. He beat me, actually he ended on 2nd place in the competition and went on to win the bugger.
Just love the MLO, last installments I played things like ML offline and bal alot, haven't even touch'd those modes yet!!

Update on my last post (page 4 I think):
A few days ago I qualified for the next round of a Division 4 Cup. 1st match was a bye as the other guy apparently disconnected. Quarter final match I was winning 1-0 till the last kick of the game my opponent equalized. I was gutted, but he was rubbish at penalties (4 of the 5 went down the middle) so luckily I managed to win.
In the semis I won comfortably 2-0 and was then in the final. Practically two hours after the tournament started I was in my first big match.
Scored a sublime lob from 25 meters, even scored a second. Then the other guy got one back and I basically made sure I didn't lose the ball anymore. First trophy in the bag. I got 1 million in cash by the way, for those interested in knowing the prize money.

As you can see, I've been playing with two squad fillers in my starting lineup. Its worked pretty well, I have a win % of about 45 after nearly 200 games and I score on average 1.4 goals and concede about 0.85 per game.
Ideally, I'd like to get Van Der Sar, Forlan, Naldo and maybe Lampard/Toure Yaya into my team by the end of the month. You may have noticed but I've got a lot of big strong guys in my team, I think it really helps. If I have Naldo, Distin, Bouba Diop and Yaya Toure in my team I should be winning every ball in the air from the opponents goalkick.
Oh and I agree with an earlier post, you should really try to get players with a good form stat.
Are there any official numbers regarding the effects of form? I remember seeing this chart a few years ago. Basically the percentage that stats go up/down depending on what the form arrow is.

You are exactly right. Funny thing is though, I have a pretty decent subs bench, have el moubarki, wesley (70+ on cmf and amf) petrobenov and elmander. I have enough subs to bench the ones with a purple arrow. That game though both juan, baptista had purple and elmander was blue, as I needed to win is decided not to go with a defensive line up and just try to ride it out with my purple bunch, big mistake.

it takes your best 3 conesecutive results, after you 3 matches and you think your results are good enough for you to qualify you can exit the competition and come back before the timer gets to 0, usually i just stay and play till the timer's up, good money

Im absolutely loving masterleague online! I think its the best game mode out for a football game.
Ive noticed that in the last 2-3 days i have had trouble finding opponents, are people just not playing anymore because theyve already reached a promotion spot and dont want to risk it?
Anyways, only played about 50 games and win about 45% of them, never got to the next round of the cup though. closest i came was 19th, because i missed a penalty in my last game. As painful as it was, its amazing how sadistically pleasing it is at times.

I was so fed up with ivarov in goal that i got handanovic who is level 73? wtf? I have to say some of the ratings are just off (he should be at least 79), but anyways, hes made a huge difference. dont think my tv has been at risk with him in there for a while.
Pinardi - passing skill which just helps, his stats are pretty much all in the late 70s.
Sychev - nice and quick, scores a bunch
Guerrero - hate him in real life but is getting the job done :)
Mattheus (goes to 74 smf from 69 ss) - has been a bit dissapointing, thinking of selling him and geting podolski and playing with 3 up front.
De Guzman - Has scored a bunch of free kciks for me and takes great corners.
Wesley - love this guy
Badstuber & Vorsah - im constantly amazed at how often i play teams with the default defenders. Vorsah was the first guy i bought and dont regret my decision.

I haven't signed them but I've had them on my shortlist for a long while:
Culina and Wilkshere. They're both Australian players who can play just about anywhere on the pitch, have mid 70 stats for everything, including shooting. One of them even has form 7 so thats a big plus. They're both in the 1.5-2 million price region.

Yeah every time I see someone with 400+ games I have a gut feeling they used the own goal glitch before the patch came out. I wasn't aware of this glitch but I read it somewhere online (might actually have been this website!) that basically by scoring 3 own goals the match would end straight away and they would get their money. So if those players did that non stop for a week or so, especially in tournaments, they would have easily gotten 300 games in a week before this exploit was patched.
On the other hand, if a guy has gotten his 500 games legit then fair enough, I don't really complain (I have 193 games legit). But it does piss me off when I come across people with 500 games played, 50+ win percentage, 40 million worth of players and they are still in division 4 and have a bad manager rating. It means if I lose or draw against these chumps my manager rating takes a bit hit, so frustrating.

Isn't Lampard a better alternative for Gerrard, value for money wise? I mean their stats are pretty similar and Lampard has a great form stat (7 or 8 if I remember correctly) plus the fact he's a lot cheaper.

Yet I'm pretty sure an 80+ rated player with an arrow down/diagonal down is still much better than any 60-70 rated player. I agree subs can make a difference, but they have to be (almost) as good as the player they're replacing.
Otherwise you might as well spend that money on signing 1 even better player, focusing on those with a high form stat.

yeah their stats are pretty similar, but what gerrard gives is more pace, and way more power and the ability to play dmf, and being a liverpol fan, always gonna be gerrard over lampard, i know lampard's form stats is better but when gerrard's on form he wins games by himself for me
I am loving it just started out sold some default players and bought erding pastore and vorsah. Struggling to get in to competitions tough. Where can i see my manager rating. Yeah I don't even bother with coach mode anymore. I really think a star studded team is needed if you want to win the cup, which I don't have. Most of the time it will just be draws or losses to superior teams (although usually inferior players...).

These guy's are cheaters and thy don't play for rating, they play for money, scoring own-goals in competitions for make a lot of money.

Go too squad list and press one of the shoulder buttons, where your player's overall stat is ( next to the player's name), it will show you.

They got on my nerves as well I played a game against one guy and no word of a lie everytime he got the ball he booted it instantly to the corner flags and rushed up behind my defence, the only way to stop him was to boot it straight back at him, at which point the game ended up as a ridiculous rugby-football hybrid farce...
Tbh I havent played MLO since that day, I got fed up playing people who create tactics to just exploit match engine bugs like the crappy fullbacks so the they have some guy permastood as far right/left as they will go to boot the ball to on the counter.

Yeah I've got a couple of bargains: Cahill (rated 68) & Iaquinta (rated 74) are actually much better if you change their position.
There's also Culina who I mentioned earlier, I checked again and his price is only 1.3 million. Very cheap for someone with 75 rated stats in all areas..

I would hate to have done all that work for nothing.
I've payed against a number of people with the standard pes utd kit and emblem that have obviously changed it. So no it won't show up. But what does it matter when you can see it on your screen?

Alright I'm gonna release some players tonight in an attempt to sign a star. I keep facing power house teams with inferior users. I played vs an AC Milan which had Rosicky, Kezman and more. I managed to beat him 2-1 with my default MLO squad but spent the ENTIRE second half in my zone.. diving infront of balls, giving away free kicks etc.
So im glad theres a way to make some money and buy a player

Basically just keep playing. I've noticed I earn more money the bigger the entrance fee.
So in the beginning when I was paying about 45K to play a quick match, I would get 70K if I won. Now, I pay about 74K to play and usually get 130K per win, sometimes even 150K (I have no idea why).
So if my theory is right, you earn money faster the more valuable your team is. This is contrary to what I initially thought/hoped because it means the best just get better much quicker. It would have been more logical that, the more stacked your team is, the more effort you have to put in to improve it.

Wait, so the other player who has created his own kit might have a completely different looking kit then shown on my screen? I don't like it when people use the dark kit for WE United, but maybe its because on their screen they have a nice white kit that contrasts to the Barca home it which I prefer to use.
I mean, if the custom made kits don't show up on opponent's screens, why not just let me select the kits for both players as well as the radar colours? I hate it when the kits/dots are rubbish colours.

My strategy generally consists of running a midfielder down the wing and crossing into the box. So I need fast Side Mids and tall/good in the air forwards

It sucks because you have to play a bit cheesy just to beat these guys. I started MLO with a 4-1-2-2-1 formation that I used in football manager, I didn't realize two wingers was so freaking popular, I almost want to make a whole new possession tactic just to kill the "ping pong" play. Frustrate the hell out of the other guy!
Right now I'm playing with 4 cbs to fight the counter, clogs up the middle through ball, and dont have to worry about sidebacks wondering around in midfield when not in possession.

While I do like PES2011 MLO, the creators have just replaced one cheat (super fast players) with another (ridiculous through balls). I wouldn't mind if players like Xavi and Pirlo were hitting them but any player can hit a killer defense splitting pass at will. It totally unbalances the game and destroys any build up play.

Gotta say im starting to agree with this, today I played some guy he scored a lucky goal in first 5 mins playing the ubiqitous 4.3.3 and then I literally battered him for the rest of the game, gamed ended 1-1 despite me having 12 shots on target to his 2 which was a bummer but the real killer was the way he played, I was already overpowering his midfield anyway which seemed to exist solely to hoof the ball up the pitch and at half time rather than adopt a more senesible tactic he made it worse he had no central midfielders at all, it ended up something like this

I started MLO with a 4-1-2-2-1 formation that I used in football manager, I didn't realize two wingers was so freaking popular, I almost want to make a whole new possession tactic just to kill the "ping pong" play. Frustrate the hell out of the other guy!
Right now I'm playing with 4 cbs to fight the counter, clogs up the middle through ball, and dont have to worry about sidebacks wondering around in midfield when not in possession.
I found a great counter to the usual crap playing with (as you say) 4 x CBs and 2 x DMFs problem is it also limits your own effectiveness going forward and most results end up 0-0
The real shame is that Konami have the foundations of a fantastic game mode with MLO, I can see it being fantastic in 2 or 3 versions time, but right now its little more than an interesting aside for when I get bored playing the AI in ML.

Avelives- I totally agree with having to field 2 DMF/CMF to keep the incessant through balls from reaching the target and you are also dead on about that limiting the attacking oppurtunties. Most of my games feature a very low score line. :realmad:

I totally agree here with the consensus by the way about these long through balls and the goofballs who play that way. I don;t respect that garbage, and I love thrashing a player who plays that way.
Here's my line up (div 4, 10-5-5 record). As you can tell, I'm not one of those who just pumps the ball up with long skill-less passes to superstars. It's rare though to find someone else who plays build up like I do. If I ever play someone else like that it would probably be a great match.

Does anyone else sign the fast CBs? IMO it's the best way to counter the pump and dump strategy most people use.
Yes. I have Distin who is pretty quick and also a 1.90m+ tall guy so a nice combination of speed and strength (body balance is 90 I think).
Another speedy CB I had was G. Martinez. I swapped him for Sergio Ramos recently though. Both Martinez and Distin are worth around 3 million.

Yea, I'm more about possession. I like to dictate play especially when facing star studded teams. Also, if I face off against a star filled squad and I get the early lead.. good luck getting into my box ;)

I'm planning on making up a couple new tactics, they won't be realistic, but my plan is to make their game unenjoyable (which makes it fun for me!)
The first is a 1-4-2-2-1 with 4 dms 2 smfs 2 amf and a striker.
the Second is a 5-1-4 or a 6-1-3 with either 3 cbs or 4 cbs one midfielder, and 3 or 4 attackers :w00t . Not only would I have some offense if I can get it to them, but the defense should kill their attack.
So my plan is to either overload the midfield with 8 players, or overload defense and offense.
Btw I'm in D5 and don't have much money, but I bought Beria who is like 88/85 regarding speed as a CB. I want to get santacroce next. Btw if you play with extra CBs 4+ use the CB overlap tactic, but remember they only attack vertically, so if you tell your outside cb to attack he will go up the flank and be useless.

I went the route of selling all the stock players immediately and buying a rather large lineup of players rated in the 55-65 region. There are quite a few fairly decent players if you look hard enough. However, some of the stock players are pretty hard to beat at the start. Ordaz' shot, Gutierrez' overall CF play, Miranda and Ettori's passing and Ivanov's GK abilities are the ones that are hard to replace but you can definitely find new players who are more well rounded with few terrible weaknesses. The stock defenders are very strong physically and it's pretty hard to find new players who match that in the aforementioned overall rating.
When I sold the stock players, I was looking for a more diverse group of players who could play multiple positions and had better form. A 6 condition means a player is much more likely to be in average or better form.
I have played over 150 matches but am still in D5 because I have been very experimental with formations. I would love to play a 3 man defense more but it gets decimated by the through ball. I have been mostly playing with some form of 4231 which provides a solid possession game along with a pretty difficult team to break down defensively. I also use a 4312 in my strategies as it provides a much better attacking option. I have also tried a 4141 with mixed results.
I feel the major problem with possession in the game is that it only takes a little lag or a slight mistake to launch almost every opponent into an easy counter attack. It hasn't stopped me from playing this way but the way other people play doesn't seem to be as negatively affected by a bit of lag. Konami's servers seem to encourage playing the wrong way by punishing the people who play a more intricate passing game. It certainly doesn't help that the fucking through ball is so damned easy either.
I really think Konami has an excellent game on their hands with a bit of tweaking. I am amazed at how much the team style affects the game. I would personally say that getting this right is more important than individual players for people who are just starting out. I have seen some players get incredible results out of the stock players when they had a good gameplan.

If Konami fixed the cursor change problem and made defenders more responsive to long through balls, then people wouldn´t abuse these weaknesses online. At the moment, the game makes it way too easy for people to use a simple and boring tactic to win.
Even though I know that if I used a 4-3-3 formation, I would probably win more MLO games, I´m still trying to find a more intelligent way to win online than just use the overpowered through ball.
A formation that works pretty well is to use two defensive midfielders to man mark their offensive wingers. When used with a high defensive line most through balls can be intercepted.
I´m still experimenting though. The system still needs tweaking.

That's an excellent point about unresponsive defenders and the cursor change. I have conceded most of my goals from the combination of these two things lately. It's pretty irritating to play a great match and then have the other team score on their only shot because of a defender taking a nap. Having said that, playing 4231 has made through balls much less effective and it isn't too much of a problem now.
I've really noticed that by playing a non sprinting possession game that my players have much more energy at the end of a match and I usually nick a goal or two towards the end because of the other team's fatigue. This is especially noticeable if you sub a quick forward on late in the game.
I used to mark people every game but sometimes found that it resulted in fairly strange behavior at times from my defenders. Now I usually use one of my DMF (who has the man marking star) to mark the other teams playmaker. Does a pretty good job at limiting their attacking options.
I would also like to applaud all the people who approach it like a real game of soccer. I have played a number of people who have and it is always a great game. Kudos to you.

regarding the 'napping' defenders, Look out for, tenacity, and responsiveness. IMO Theses are vital for a mean defense.

Had a couple of good games against a guy using Blackpool earlier.
He went up 1-0 I equalized then he scored straight away (2-1) to him, 20 secs later I do a 1-2 with Jordi Gomez and drill it from the edge of the box 2-2 best game so far.
We got matched up again later Ivarov passed straight to his striker lost 1-0 - (
About through balls I tried my back 4 right up the pitch and got murdered. Im going to make them compact and see how that works.
BTW Anyone tried a sweeper ?

compactness is how many buses your opponent can drive thru your defence. If you think a high value here is gonna help - think again!!!
Regarding the high line - suits me best. High line , compact, press... played about 30 games now conceded 0.61 a game, I did get chopped up once though, 6-0. The guy had rooneys shot literally making my GK fold into the net! It was as if the ball had more inertia than my GK!!!

How many of you close down with one or two men? I try not to as I think it encourages through ball play. It's easier to use your player to clog up holes, and then when the opponent is trying to figure out what the hell to do you pounce by closing down with the computer while using your player to cover the best passing option.
If you play like everyone else and close down with two players constantly, it'll open up holes for through balls, thusly you just make the ping pong game worse.

Yeah, I tried a SW for a little while in both a 3 and 4 man defense. I used Ponce from Chile and it was a disaster because so many teams would use more than 3 attackers, he would usually play them onsides and have too much space to cover when the opponents got forward in numbers.
I realise that my defenders aren't world class but Konami is making a game that is representing professional players and you would never see these professional defenders go napping this often in real life. All of my defenders (Ponce, Sabitov, Sivok, Hornamkis) have at least a 70 in DEF, 70 RES and 70 in MEN with Ponce and Hornamkis having 80 in MEN. I think the game engine has a problem with responding to the through balls. I've also mentioned before that in real life there aren't a huge number of players who can hit that kind of through ball regularly from deep in midfield or defense yet in game it seems most can.
I totally agree about having a compact defensive formation.
I have both Ivanov (70 overall)and Tejumalov(68) as GK who are about the same level overall. Has anyone noticed a night and day difference when upgrading to a slightly better (73-77) goalkeeper.

Anyone else notice that editing team style has almost no effect at all? So annoying, if you want to change the way your team plays you have to do it by moving players around in your tactic and changing their role.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some time to test my 6/5-1/2-3 and 1-8-1 tactics against the PC.

Played a game which was horrible, My housemate was playing WOW and apparently our connection doesnt cope well with WOW and PES at the same time, lagging something awful, I played some guy that felt it necessary to watch every replay over and over again, and say Goal! 4 or 5 times after each goal, quite annoying considering I got smoked 4 zip....
It may be that i just suck at this game but I prefer to blame the WOW generated lag, jsut when i thought I had run out of reasons to hate WOW, PES has provided another:)

Montanaro- I find that team style makes a rather large difference. The differences are large enough that I've started only changing the slider by about 2 points at a time to find my favorite value.
Seedykiwi- I found that there was a rather steep learning curve playing online if you mostly are used to playing against the CPU. The variety of different styles people use takes awhile to catch on to. After awhile, you'll be comfortable playing against almost anyone.

I dont mind getting flogged, dont mind at all. even with the horrendous lag of last nights game i managed to get into some pretty good scoring positions, just couldnt pull the trigger in time. I pretty much try and play a short passing game and look for an opening when a defender eventually flys out of the defensive line making a hole.. with the lag I was having to try time my passes (pressing X) a second or 2 earlier than normal, wa alright when i got a run on, but 1 pass out of time and it was all over... previous post was mainly me ranting hating on my housemate and his F***** WOW stealing my PES time..
been playing absolute shit today..lost almost every game i played in...

Just played a guy from England named Darg. He was Liverpool had Forlan etc a strong team, went 3 up on him and he stopped playing so i just knocked the ball around for a while before scoring a couple more. after i scored my 5th the game quit, i thought he's probably quit then when i noticed my ranking had dropped, went to check my games and the result was 3-0 victory for him. Feckin ragin, is this a glitch or something? Anyway Darg your a cheat cos no way could you have that good a team in division 4 and i still pumped you so GIRFUY, i hope i play you again cos im going to dish out some payback. CHEAT!

I cant keep the ball under pressure as in Im holding r2 flick the stick away from them and most times nothing happens.
Whats the secret ? I want a sidestep or a quick stepover to get half a hard should I be using L2 in these circumstances?

I have about 3-4 guys who are valued under 10k. I switched some of my default players for these guys for two reasons. 1. It increases the money I have to spend for good players and 2. It decreases the fee for playing games. I dont plan on keeping them forever, but I just started and don't have much money, so any little bit helps.

Well, I find MLO really addicitive, but I dont know what the hell is going on, sometimes I play incredible and then other days I cant win one frigging match, I dont have a kick ass team, but what I have noticed is that your best bet is to buy strong forward and midfielders as defenders will not give you an advantage, I need to find a way to solve the sliders I think thats where my problem is. Somehow my midfielders are completely disconected from my forwards, My midfielders are never involved in any goal... what could be going wrong?

Its not a cheat. I have about 7 or 8 of these guys in my team. They're called squadfillers. I NEVER use substitutes, I'm sure a lot of people don't either. So why waste money on players you never use?
Earlier today I played against this scrub who had 1100+ games played. I thought I had played loads with my 220 or so games, this is just taking the piss. 1100 games! And his crappy ass is still in division 3 with all those star players of his.

What I'd also really like to see is some sort of filter so that I don't have to play against anyone from Spain, Italy or France. I know its discriminating but 9 times out of 10 the match is either extremely laggy or they have some ridiculous team with a crappy manager rating. So if you beat them, there's not much of a reward but if you lose or draw your rating takes a big hit.
Yesterday I played some guy with Ronaldo, Eto'o, Sneijder, Schweinsteiger and others but his manager rating was 401. Conceded a cheap late equalizer and of course my rating has to drop like 15 points...
There is the option to arrow it down to similar rank & spoken language n online options, works a bit better but not perfect, I know what you mean, I've been totally Dc'd n matches too which make me look like a quitter. which i aint by the way!
I'm loving MLO. It's better than I thought it would be. It was tough to get started until I realized i can release my default players and get money for them.. thought release just fired them.
Anyway now I was able to buy a couple of players and really enjoying playing people online.
My question is since players don't develop, do they also not age? So no point in buying a promising player but better to get an aging but still quality player?

Had to buy some players valued under 600k but they are better than stock players.
Has anyone seen anyone play with this CF/WF named Mayukins? He has 97 pace and accel, but I can't find him when I search for his name (and I know i wrote it down right). The only player similar to him is martins. Did the guy I play glitch this Mayukins guy into the game or something?
btw, I just signed Santa Croce. Now I have Two solid CBs. Beria has 88 speed 85 accel and Croce has 85 speed 88 accel, both with 80+ body balance and 75+ response. Not the greatest of headers, but most people cross the ball anyway.
Both can be had under 2.5 million, excellent players for me so far.
Can anyone suggest a good heading/body balance striker? I have K Davies who is real cheap, but he isn't the most accurate of shooters, but sending balls to his head is dangerous business.

Picking up the super cheap squad players and putting all your money into 3 or so great players seems to be the way most people play. It's just not the way I did it. Having said that, I love playing against the teams who do that as they are forced to play their stars even when on purple form. If you run their team into the ground by passing it around, they don't have any subs worth putting on either and always persist with the stars despite having no stamina left. In general, if these 3 star players don't score real early in the game they usually lose or draw depending on how good their defense is because the star players are too tired later to do much.
It's probably good that I haven't spent the money on that big name striker as the game might start to get a bit boring. I create an abundance of high quality chances but overall my strikers shooting abilities are rather poor. It sure makes for an exciting game everytime.
You are required to have IIRC 16 players on your team at any time.
Montanaro- Mayukins is Obafemi Martins in real life. He is Nigerian. He must have transferred to a team who Konami have the naming rights to.
Foss- There is no point to buying promising young players in MLO. The stats are not going to get any better.

I've got a good formation now, it's extra effective because I've learned to SLOW DOWN. I only sprint in certain circumstances.
Passing the ball all over the other team and have 60%+ possession really kills the pump and dump tactic everyone uses. Also it opens up a few shots for me, usually of better quality than the "other" tactic people use. I just need to practice shooting from 20 yards or so and I'll be simply unbeatable judging by the amount of time I spend unmarked with the ball in that area.
btw are you able to practice with your MLO team?

Got a superb British based squad side together. still in Divison 5 i'm not completely active and i was surely set for promotion but i stuck it on coach mode for a while and they were doing well and getting loads of cash so i'm now pretty reliant on it, although i'm pretty good it's just a huge time saver. But it's been really harsh to me, conceding really late goals and i've been left about 40 points short of promotion which will be hard to recover from.
Here's my squad:
GK: Forster. Decent enough for me, does the job well and makes the odd good save. Valued at 150 million which is quiet a lot, but i can't find a good keeper for cheaper so i'll have to stick with him for the time being.
CB: Williamson. Very happy with how he's doing, a key part to my defence as he's very strong and can keep up with the very best in terms of pace. Hoping for a value rise of about 35k+ aswell which is surely deserved for a Newcastle regular.
CB: Mancienne. He's probably my best defender, can turn defence into attack and is more then capable at the back. One of my best players aswell, i'm not really focusing on improving either Mancienne or Williamson anytime soon.
CB: McGivern He's alright i suppose, but someone i'm looking to replace as soon as possible. My weakest defender, but only a recent signing replacing Martin Kelly. Does a decent enough job, but i'd much rather have someone like Franco Jara or Jeffrey Bruma as my third defender.
CM: Adam Really impressed with him, if i had to pick one player as a standout star player i'd pick him. Awseme captain with a lot of ability and always seems to be in the right position to find the net and is so crucial at set-pieces. A strong corner taker, confident penalty taker and sublime free-kick taker who can make a real impact when i'm not playing very well.
CM: Ramsey Valued quiet low for a player of his ability, and in the long term when he recovers from injury he should be up around the 200 million mark so i hope i'm making some good buisness here. Strong player, very good alongside Adam and can find the net aswell.
RM: Sinclair Really vital bit of flare for me on the wing, i don't really have another standout winger so it's vital that Sinclair's so good for me. He's got a lot of speed, some great dribbling ability and a good finisher.
LM: Ledley Very, very cheap for a player who is one of Celtic's star midfielders so i'm hoping for a value increase of at least 20 million. Fahey did poor for me, and Ledley's only just joined but he looks to have strong dribbling ability. He's doing well for me, and i don't feel the need to replace him at the moment.
AM: Dorrans Probably my weakest midfielder, but he's in for a value increase of at least 50 million so i'd be an idiot to sell him. Don't know why he was so cheap, but happy to have him even though he's not always brilliant on the ball as he'll improve.
CF: Beckford Good goalscorer, his defensive ability and workrate does wind me up though. May well look to sell him, but i'll be keeping him for a while anyway and dare i hope for at least a 30 million value increase.
CF: F.Campbell Only player to have played well for me recentley, scores a lot of goals, very fast and links up with Scott Sinclair well. He's had a value increase of 20 million or so recentley, but i'm hoping that the value rise increases more towards the 200 million mark.
SUBS
Basham My back-up defender, should have a value increase really as a regular for Blackpool. Fills in when i need to chuck a 4th defender at the back and does the job i suppose, not too much about him to be honest though.
Bannan He's in for a value increase, rated as low as 56 but he's still very good when he does play, good battler and overall a good player. Never gets a game, and only got 3 games for me but i do recommend him to teams looking for someone to play regular football for less then 40 million.
Fahey Worth like 100 million and he's stuck on my bench, he's pretty awful and i'm looking for a replacement for him but i just can't find a decent one. Deserves a value increase to about 140 million, really hope they update the English leagues values frequently.
Shelvey Really good player, chuck him in place of Dorrans at times. May get a value increase, but not too bothered about it as he really doesn't need one as i'm not going to sell him anytime soon unless he'll be replaced by a first teamer.
Hooper Chuffed to have signed him earlier today. Maybe not as much of a flare asset as i'd have liked but really capable when i need to attack and chuck in a 3rd striker. Should get a value increase of at least 60 million as Celtic's star forward, it's just a matter of them changing his value.
Borini Orite as a back-up, got Anthony Stokes lined up as his replacement just need another 4.2 million and i'll replace him. He's actually quiet good for his value, but i need to improve.

another thing that's bugging me alot is how easy it is to get muscled off the ball..I'm using gerrard with 86 body balance and red arrow, and minanda can just come and knock me off the ball everytime, its just not right

Also the sliders for defensive line will completely change your defensive line from high( defenders holding ground but will be susceptible to through balls and wingers) or very deep( defenders drop back when opposition has the ball to avoid being outrun). It is really amazing how much difference the sliders affect all areas of the game.
I just got beat(owned) 3-0 by a player using the stock players. This guy has his formation and tactics dead on and I was really struggling to get the ball anywhere near his goal. Just goes to show that you can get some great results with bad players.

Wish I had started playin this mode earlier as I seem miles behind a lot of players as regards squads but when the MLO was in beta testing it was mentioned that startin MLO later wouldnt be that much of an issue as the players that started early would get the good players early and move up the leagues so you would be playin people at a similar level squad-wise. But obviously with the OG cheat there are teams in d5 with ridiculous squads! I hope Konami do something about this like anyone with more than 10 matches which have ended because of this cheat should have there squads reset. It just ruins this great mode for people that really want to enjoy it and ACHIEVE a good sqaud through hard work and clever buys.
Any way rant over just gonna keep pluggin away and save them pennies to improve my squad!

That happened to me too!! Thrashing a guy 5-2 and they do maintenance! Havnt checked to see if I got the win yet :(
Played a guy who had default players exept for CR7 and after 2 mins match time I realise he keeps passing to ronaldo ad rubs like fuck- so everytime I kept taking him out- most of the time no fouls and I made sure I cleaned him when he first gets the ball around half way line so he doesn't get fouls in dangerous positions. Then I scored after about 8 mins and got ball out other side of pitch (my left) and kept the ball and he left after 11 mins. Job done and I get a three nil win :)

I've noticed a lot of D5 guys have Anelka and practically nobody else on their squad. Don't get me wrong, he would be perfect up front for me, but I've gotten rid of all my default players and replaced them with better players worth around 1m average. My improved defense (over default) usually takes quick care of even the best of players since they have no quality for support.
where do you go to see your players game stats/records.
I've looked in every menu I can think of.
Go to squad list, then press the RT/LT (R2/L2) buttons. You will see the value, appearances, goals, etc
I don't think the injuries stat works though. Van Der Vaart has been injured maybe 4 or 5 times during a game by me but I don't see any numbers.
What about your tactics?

tactics will depend on what players you have an what formation. but since you don't want to put any thought into it i suggest letting the cpu pick your formation and players.. it will be best for you. for me the tactics are very fun.

Can someone please explain to me how this MLO thing on PES2011 works?
Anyone else noticed that Arshavin is too overrated and a real pain in the ass in MLO? He has condition/form, weak foot acc and freq 8! That means that he is always orange or red, and you virtually can't stop him if you defender has 80 def or less.....which is the case in most MLO teams.
Just lost a game 4-2, with arshavin scoring 4 goals with dribbles beginning from his own half. The lag certainly doesn't make defending any easier..

This is my normal formation but just played one of those 4 up front players that play kick and rush rugby..........erm sorry football. So changed my formation to counter this:
Made Ruskin and El Moubakari CBs and Winsnes a second DMF and it worked a treat! Won 3-0 despite him having a great team of players!
I have been playing a 4-1-3-2 and been getting spanked too often. i may need to go to a 4-4-1-1 until i get better players.
i thought i would miss the old formation UI but i really dig the new drag and drop interface. i was one of those people who would tweak and edit the formations and change people's roles and it's a lot easier now.
the more i play this game, the more i find myself playing cheesers, so fucking annoying seeing people put 4 forwards up front and 2 midfielders, worst part about this is they'll actually beat you sometimes off a counter if you play a normal formation
Just played a cup i managed to win 3 times in a row scoring 10 times, very happy with that. I got knocked out in the semifinal due a silly goal. I have noticed it really isn't that hard after you qualify for the knockout stages. Hope i will qualify more often cause it was my 1st time. Bought Van der Sar but he isn't defending the goal like i expected. I think my next buy is Cassano or Lavezzi need a quick little striker Castolo is doing it for me now he isn't bad though.

i agree with you, its a shame because the concept of the mode is excellent. however after playing the game for a week, theres simply too many of these cheesers just aiming to win and not play. now that i've built a good team, but it still doesnt help me cope with people who play 4-0-6, most of the time 4-3-3 players are pretty lame themselves in the way they play, its a shame really, hope pes 2012 is better:no:

Just get a defense that doesn't have default players, quick players are essential to eat the through balls. Play a medium d line, and don't close down all the time, use x to close down and use your player to cover passing options. Use a DM to man mark their best passer (even two dms) and watch them run in circles in the final 3rd trying to figure out wtf to do (while not having the benefit of a pinpoint passer). And don't be afraid to rush your keeper out, most people simply can not lob.
Btw I take what the other guy gives me. I prefer a possession style with SMF's just behind the AM area on the wings (so they aren't too high and act like cheesing WFs) I pass it around, get him to slide tackle and lay on the ground which opens up holes in the middle. And if you play without WFs but with SMFs they provide extra defensive help.
I'm not sure, but if you were real desperate for defensive wing support, you could play with sidebacks AND wingbacks since wingbacks are considered midfielders.

I checked the ranking regularly and that guy wasnt in the top ten last night. Moreover, he has won 80% but have only qualified to comp elimination phase like couple times.
Oh well, the top 5 are all suspicious except lyc10..

Here's my most recent update, having improved my squad a lot recentley.
Here's my squad:
GK: Forster. Decent enough for me, does the job well and makes the odd good save. Valued at 150 million which is quiet a lot, but i can't find a good keeper for cheaper so i'll have to stick with him for the time being.
CB: Williamson. Very happy with how he's doing, a key part to my defence as he's very strong and can keep up with the very best in terms of pace. Hoping for a value rise of about 35k+ aswell which is surely deserved for a Newcastle regular.
CB: Mancienne. He's probably my best defender, can turn defence into attack and is more then capable at the back. One of my best players aswell, i'm not really focusing on improving either Mancienne or Williamson anytime soon.
CB: D.Wilson Stronger then i'd thought he'd be, i'd like someone a little higher rated then him, but he's really good value for money

CM: Ramsey Valued quiet low for a player of his ability, and in the long term when he recovers from injury he should be up around the 200 million mark so i hope i'm making some good buisness here. Strong player, very good alongside Adam and can find the net aswell.
CM: Adam Really impressed with him, if i had to pick one player as a standout star player i'd pick him. Awseme captain with a lot of ability and always seems to be in the right position to find the net and is so crucial at set-pieces. A strong corner taker, confident penalty taker and sublime free-kick taker who can make a real impact when i'm not playing very well.

Dorrans Not that good, even though he probably should be. Being patient with him though, if he gets his deserved rating and value increase then he could be looking at a place back in my starting XI.
M.Davies Just signed him in place of Jonjo Shelvey, he deserves a value increase as he's getting a lot of gametime at Botlon. Yet to play him, but i'm confident he'll do well.

Have you recently signed a player(s)? As the cost of a match depends on the players in your team. The better the players the higher you pay to play but also I believe the more you will get for a win etc.

What starts to piss me off big time now are those people from France, Spain or Italy and there shitty lagging connections.
fix that shit KONAMI or move those players to there own ML online .... it just cost me another game. If you start to get to around 530 rating and then capow a few laggers ...

Well it'll be that then, very helpfull. Close to replacing Andy Carroll with Peter Odemwingie, but the cash can't come in the way the servers are currently running ... trying to get into a game but it keeps on saying "an error has occured" so i'm going to have to wait.
Also the same old problems seem to happening with cheats, i'm 1-0 up with 5 minutes remaining against a Divison 3 Arsenal (i'm Division 5) and i'm thinking how much of a killing i'm going to make and then he pauses it and after a good connection for 85 minutes the connection goes.

If the comp is at 17.00 then u can enter after 17.00 even if its 17.30 if there is still space available..
Also an hour before the comp they put the next comp's time..e.g when its 16.00, in your mlo menu it says next comp will be at 19.00..

Its jsut whoever is disconnected, he/she will get the win..so maybe in Sinclair's case, he was the one that got dced..
I believe you play against human on coach mode..since its MLO, there isnt cpu teams there..lol..and if its coach mode, u cant play it..why do the coach mode if u want to play the game??
come on to people winge-ing that their opponent is playing 4-0-6 formations, well you have only yourself to blame for not exploiting that.
the game is fair (as fair as a video game gets). you both get 11 players. for me most people i see play 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 or 4-4-2. I play a 4-4-1-1 or 4-3-1-2 right now.
i think some people are disappointed that their opponent doesn't play the way they want. that's not the game's fault.. if someone is playing a 4-0-6 just play a high DF line and push your players up to his empty midfield.

Foss- I play PES because the capability is there to play an enjoyable game of soccer. I do not find it enjoyable when it becomes just a video game whose weaknesses are there to be exploited by using ridiculuous formations and tactics. Could I use the same ridiculous formations? Sure but then we've got something that doesn't even begin to look like a real game.
In real life, it is suicide to play a 20 super high defensive line because, unlike the game, there is nothing limiting the speed of attacking players and it results in a sprint between attackers and defenders to get to the through ball and straight to goal. Barcelona is a prime example of this. Almost no one else plays this type of defense because of the danger and because ball possession becomes paramount to limit the chances of a counterattack. Yet everyone plays this way in PES because the game helps the defender speed up which kills any reason for midfield build up play. The game effectively punishes real life tactics which would necessitate a much deeper defensive line if you have slower defenders which would also open up the field allowing passing.
A huge help would be to also increase the stamina loss for people who abuse the sprint button. The amount of pressing that most opponents use would mean that players would be dead at halftime. It would also help to make people play more realistic formations as they would be punished for playing too many attackers and forcing them to constantly have to sprint back into defense.
In the end, I want to play a good game of soccer, something that mimics real life. I have played a few online out of the over 200 matches but the majority are dbags trying to exploit the system through various means. After enough of these matches, I quickly lose my desire to play online anymore.

the stamina is about right dude, on the 60th-90th the performance of the players drop..Weird if u cant feel it..its just a game, even if its perfect sim, u will see people with 6 strikers, there is nothing u can do about it. Tho, we can counter their tactic easily, just need to tweak your team style 4-0-6 means no midfield, if u can beat a team like that then I dont know what to say.

No, you play up against another person who's on coach mode. It's basically just two AI's playing against eachover.
The whole point of coach mode, is it's a timesaver if you generally don't have much time and just want to gain some money to build up your squad. I must admit the majority of my games are done on coach mode, but that's just at the moment as i'm revising whilst it's on coach mode, but when i do have team i'd so much rather play.
