View Full Version : do you often use the strategies??
for my part , I try to use it but some of them are strange . i find the offside one is good but i don't find the other very effective!

sometimes i use them, but sometimes they distract me from playing football - i rely on them too much.
the offside is good, and the counter attack is OK. i mite try the switch to a different formation later.

I used to use a few but not so much now.
I do fiddle with the team attack/defence attitude a lot though.

I don't really use them much. Very occasionally switching formation at half time can make a radical diff. But I have never used strategies as such but then I haven't played on extreme.

I have a great strategy.
Drop Heskey.
I never used this strategies, does it make a sense to use them if you not playing on extreme mode

I think some of them are useful however you play.
But lately it seems that tinkering with the formation does more than the strategies.
i always use strategies if my opponent will allow me time to set them up before a match. against the computer in master league i constantly use them, often i set different formations, one very attacking and one very defensive and i use them instead of counter attack and the other startegies. the only other ones i use are to switch sides as this is effective if ur striker is being man marked by the computer as it will pull that defender out of position.

Hold on. Isn't this a standard setting that you can't change! lol.

Strategies are a vital part of my game, and i think are a vital part of the game. They add alot more to matches than just passing and shooting. I like to play the counter attack mainly, sometimes i'll use left/right side attack and i use centre back attack if im being beaten. CB attack is a great strategy to use, just select your biggest beefiest centre back (pref. good at heading) and hold it up on the wings. Whip one in towards your centre back and you've got a good chance of scoring :)
Opposite side attack is a great strategy, especially against a team with 3 at the back. And if you have a right or left back with good passing.

I have WE6:Fe, so it's in Japanese, so I have never bothered using strategies, and i don't think I'm missing much, and it hasn't stopped me winning even on Extreme.

The strategies in WE6:FE are the same as in PES2.

I don't have PES2 though. I have a Gamecube. But I have played PES2, and until the Gamecube version was announced, I was seriously thinking of getting a PS2, and the only reason was to play PES2.

OK.
When I get home, I will list the strategies for you.

Thanks, but there is no need for you to go to all that effort. I believe I have a translation somewhere that tells me what they are, I was just making the point that I don't use them and that to my mind I don't need them.
It's something that I may want to play around with one day, but to be honest I still just enjoy playing the football rather than spending my time tweaking every little aspect of my strategy and formation.
