Firstly, I can't believe there isn't a QPR thread on this site. Current Championship leaders (at time of typy typy) and Premier League relegation fodder for season 2011/12.
So, seeing as I'm apparently the only ardent QPR fan on this site I say bring on the banter bitches!
Nice day to open up the Official QPR Thread

Taarabt needs a tampon.
Two defeats in a row, still top, best to get this shite form out the way while the other dunces are still losing to each other.
I bloody Knew Leeds was going to be a right shitter though. They want to spend some cash in January on a fooking striker, Hulse up front on his own ain't cutting it and Taarabt doesn't fancy it now its getting cold. Bit harsh, he's still our best player.

Haven't they got a good financial backing? So I can see them having a chance in the prem
Depends if Bernie Ecclestone is prepared to part with the Cash - we really need a Premier League quality striker to take the burden off Taarabt.
Well double post or not, a resounding return to form yesterday. 4-0 against the Swans! Top of the league still and confidence restored. I'll start saving for next seasons season ticket!

I saw the Coventry game the other day and have to admit that Kyle Walker looks like a decent full-back. I think his loan runs out soon so do you reckon Spurs will let him see out the full season with you lot or will they bring him back to the squad?
We really rode our luck against Coventry first half, was glad to come away with a 2-0 victory there.
Kyle Walker has been brilliant for us, he's an absolute beast when he's in full flight, he wins so many fouls driving at opposition defences from fullback. I really can't see Spurs not extending his loan, but its depending on their squads injuries and suspensions to defenders. Hutton seems first choice for Harry at the moment so I'm hopeful Kyle will be around until the summer. Would love to see him sign permanently but can't see Spurs flogging him like they did Adel Taarabt.
Do you reckon Taaaaraaaaabt will leave in Jan? He seems to be happy, but if a bigger club comes in, he may want to move on. It's not like you need the money though. How do you rate Helguson? He briefly played for us.
Nah Adel won't leave in January, he's shown in the Television games that he's still some way off being a big name player. In front of the camera's he trys to hard, the pressure gets to him. If we don't get promoted he'll leave no doubt but he's already said in the past he'd like to play in Spain. Like you said though, we're a cash rich club so we would flog him on our terms.
Helguson is alright, I've watched him play for QPR a couple of times in my visits to Loftus Road, he works hard and puts himself about. He'll not get a game though if we get promoted, nor will Hulse, neither are good enough for the step up.

He was a top full-back back in the day when Millwall were half-decent. It's strange how many players have played for the two clubs in the past 10 years or so. Darren Ward, Paul Ifill, David Twattle, Tony Craig, Lewis Grabban.
Latest QPR transfer rumours doing the rounds ...
Players rumoured in at QPR FC (since 31/Aug/2010)
Num Rumours > Player > From Club
3 Jonathan Woodgate Tottenham
1 Sean Morrison Swindon
1 Stuart Tomlinson Port Vale
1 Jason Roberts Blackburn
1 Charlie Austin Swindon
Jason Roberts and Jonathan Woodgate? These aren't the Premiership players I'd like to see in at Loftus Road. The others hardly inspire confidence either. We desperately need a goalscoring forward, they ought to be on the phone to Watford offering £3m for Danny Graham and tying up the deal quickly before the Prem teams get a whiff.

There was also David Martin, aptly nicknamed "Dartford Dave".
I haven't witnessed Tuttle, but from what I've read he was a fat, repulsive turd.
I hope we fucking stuff Bristol City today. Keith Millen has already come out saying he doesn't expect his side to maintain the same intensity. Good, 3-0 please, we need a solid result to put the Norwich debacle behind us.
Injury time equaliser after we battered them all match. Fucking typical. Our defence is having a right wobble at the moment.
Oh fucking great, Tottenham refused to extend Kyle Walker's loan stay with us and instead loaned him out to Villa. You cunts.

Probably the last position we need to strengthen is right back, too. None of us have any idea what the thinking is behind this, unless there's a purchase clause included in the deal.
He's a very good right back - or at least he was at Championship level. I understand Harry's thinking, to give him more Premier League experience but its still annoying. It'll be Bradley Orr and Peter Ramage at right back now and neither of those are anywhere near Kyle Walker.

Definitely would have Sidwell. We'll take Luke Young as well if you don't want him!

Luke's out injured at the moment, but Beye isn't doing anything, afaik. Also, if Walker's going straight into the first team, Lichaj could use a good loan spell. Probably better defensively than Walker, too, had Bale so deep in his pocket on his second PL start it forced the latter to switch sides.
So, the signings to help the push on for promotion are three average loan signings.
Ishmael Miller has been out injured for donkey's and is hardly a prolific goalscorer, just another battering ram.
Wayne Routledge is too inconsistent and Pascal Chimbonda - with the exception of one season - is a decent enough player with a lazy attitutde.
We need cover in central defence and a proven goalscoring striker and we've still not addressed it.

Hill, Derry, Hall, Leigertwood, Routledge, Borrowdale
I see a pattern. :shfty:
If you lose a key player and can't replace him it all goes tits up for Colin. As seen in 08/09 with Palace.
We ought to be getting in Premier League players struggling to get games - ok so Ishmael Miller could be classed as that but he's only just got back from injury. We need the extra bit of class in the squad to make promotion nailed on.
5 points clear at the top and without being convincing in the last 2 months. I'll take that.
http://fourfourtwo.com/news/england/72334/default.aspx
Always nice to hear.
Another nil nil draw away from home. Always good to keep a clean sheet but all these draws surely show we're still lacking a cutting edge up front.
5 Points clear at the top :D
Only concern is the continuing good form of Nottm Forest, if they win their two games in hand thet will be a point behind us! Surely someone will nick some points of them! Please? :loopy:
Triple post crime but I thought to hell with it! We beat Reading 1-0 in their own backyard!

Clearly you haven't been to villa park... haha But honestly, it won't be, DW Stadium never seem to get more than 15k attendance, and to be fair, as long as you fill the stands, the quality of the stadium hardly matters in my opinion.
I hope to get a season ticket at St Andrews too, just depends on where i go to University and where i get into.
The best thing about going to watch QPR play .... isn't actually just watching QPR play! Yeah we play some nice football but its the atmosphere and banter in the R Block ... which makes up for the shit train system, I might get an oyster card as travel cards don't work at Westfield ... which is fucking annoying on match day!
 thats London for you!
Also, question, your highly rich owners...made much change to QPR?

Not really, I'd like think they will spend some serious cash if we get promoted because we'll come straight back down if they don't. I understand the approach they've used so far, the income into the club doesn't support massive wages if we don't get promoted. The owners have plenty of cash but don't want to waste it, thats why Warnock was brought in, to squeeze the last ounce of motivation out of the players. I was against his appointment but now it looks like it was an inspired choice. Still, I think he'll probably get sacked if we don't start well in the Premier League.

Having been to both stadia, Loftus Road is by far worse. No offence Smink mate, but I absolutely hated groundsharing with you lot. I don't really have a problem with QPR, mainly as we haven't played each other much over the last couple of decades, but I can't stand Loftus Road.
That being said, I'm looking forward to you lot coming up. Will be nice to have another derby (that is, if we stay up...).

We actually and respect Fulham as a team and its fans so I think it'll be a great atmosphere in both games. Its barely a bus ride round the corner as well to Craven Cottage so I hope to go along too.
Loftus Road is an antiquated ground, the Ellersie Road stand where the R Block is - and the best atmosphere - is a fucking nightmare to get out of at the end of a match. Due to the layout that stand takes 3 times as long to empty than the other 3 stands. Its fucking ridiculous taking 45 minutes to get out the ground on a big match day.
1-1 against Hull + a win for Norwich... looks like at least another week before you get your promotion!
Talk about dragging it out :)
I'm so angry mate, they've dropped stupid points at home and they look like they are bottling it under the pressure Norwich are maintaining.
I've got to be realistic though, we'll get at least a point in the next 2 games and the goal difference will win us the league. Feels a bit of an anti-climax though, of course I won't give a shit if we win the league at home to Leeds in a couple weeks time.
I find it really hard to believe that you won't take the league title. In reality it should have been sewn up already, especially with the general level of form QPR have shown this season.
You'll get raped next year without some changes though...

Warnock's been on TalkSport and he sounds pretty hacked off as well, don't blame him, dominated the game and couldn't put Hull to bed. The problem we have is not having an out and out goalscoring striker, and you're right, without one of them and some decent defenders we'll get truly butt fucked in the Premier League next season.
I think the board will fire Warnock 10 games into the Premier League season anyhow for an Italian manager, such are the Italian Influences of the QPR board.

Fulham and QPR actually get on quite well as it happens :)

I'm right chuffed with the lads, could have been a tough one away to Watford but showed real character. All the more so with the Faurlin hearing hanging over us. Looks like the FA are distancing themself from the Sun report alledging they will dock us 15 points. Fingers crossed.
Don't bother with the Springbok Nath, there are much nicer pubs than the Bok. The Green is pretty cosy.
Right, all that needs to be done now is to save up for my season ticket. I think I'm still in shock, its still not sunk in yet! Yeaaaaah baby Premier league!
6 points for us next year, might as well give us them now;)
Nah well done QPR, should be an interesting away game as well.
Disappointed to lose 2-1 to Leeds, Kenny was a big loss today in goal and the players were clearly drained by the emotion of the last couple of weeks, but so pleased to be back in the big time! :D

MOD/ADMIN - Can someone change the title and remove my name please? Even I'm finding my previous self promotion embarrassing!
~40% increase in season ticket prices :shocking:
The price of promotion is looking pretty steep there Sminkster...
So much for me getting a season ticket, that makes the R block around 40 a game, its got the best atmosphere but Ellersie road is a shit stand with poor facilities and access. There'll be another price protest without doubt
I think they were saying it works out between £47-£75 pounds per game depending on where you are.
I can really see the need to increase prices when you consider the increased TV revenue, the bonus for promotion and the fact that you have one of the richest guys in the UK up in the boardroom... :cringe:
Right, a season ticket for the R block has increased from £500 to £650. I can live with that. Hopefully will purchase the end of June finances permitting. If its a mere one season stay I'd be barmy to miss it, even if we get tonked every week.
Season ticket money is burning a hole in my pocket, god damn this "1st Phase" & "2nd Phase" season ticket purchasing malarkey.
I am the proud owner of a QPR season ticket in the hallowed R Block :smug:
I see Jay Bothroyd is having a medical at QPR, not exactly inspiring but a decent enough player.
Depressing reading ...
Money talks
Paladini: good at selling motors?
He is, without a doubt, past his sell-by date, an awkward amalgamation of a Godfather-type figure mixed with an East-End used car dealer.
Exasperation and disbelief have long been core components of QPR fandom. From the inconceivably disastrous days of Gerry Francis' second managerial spell at the club, to the jaw-droppingly ludicrous procession of misguided hirings and firings during the 2009/2010 season, there's nearly always a dark cloud above Loftus Road.
The opening of the Summer Transfer Window yesterday will do little to lift the gloom, either, as Rangers supporters watch their closest rivals for Premier League safety, Norwich City and Swansea City, take intelligent, measured steps in the transfer market. The Canaries' signings of Bradley Johnson from Leeds United and Millwall's Steve Morison should see them well-placed to mount a survival bid, especially if the irrepressibly brilliant Paul Lambert remains at the helm.
So what of QPR, the Championship's best team last season and deserved winners of their first title since 1983? Well, as frustrated R's fans will tell you, besides the niggling rumours surrounding Neil Warnock's future at the club, and the constant Adel Taarabt transfer-merry-go-round, it's all quiet on the Western Avenue.
Those who crave behind-the-scenes drama and the sort of Goodfellas'-style scenario we had a few years ago - with the 'Guns in the Boardroom' saga - would probably love to hear of an epic power-struggle going on between QPR's two ownership 'blocs'. However, there is no evidence to point to this. Indeed it appears very much that the Cowboys, namely 'Tango' and 'Cash' - Messrs' Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone - have irrevocably claimed the upper hand over the Indians - the 'steelionaire' Mittals.
Yes, there have been rumours, none of them pleasant, mind you. The prospect of our 'big signings' to keep us in what is unarguably one of the toughest leagues in the world being Fulham's Andy Johnson and Hull City's Jimmy Bullard is hardly appealing. Jay Bothroyd's astronomical wage demands of allegedly £50,000 per week have, fortunately, priced him out of a move to West London, so what sort of new arrivals can we expect?
losses
Well, perhaps it's best to ask Mr. Gianni Paladini, the man with seemingly no appreciation of when it's right to cut your losses and leave. He is, without a doubt, past his sell-by date, an awkward amalgamation of a Godfather-type figure mixed with an East-End used car dealer who has long ceased to be of any benefit to proceedings at Loftus Road.
His 'limited' evidence to the tribunal over QPR's signing of Alejandro Faurlin - a wonderful Argentine midfielder whose popularity knows no bounds amongst R's supporters - shows him up as the morally dubious and inherently damaging and shady figure fans have long believed him to be.
The returns from their respective loan spells of Italian flops Matteo Alberti and Alessandro Pellicori, unless greeted with their imminent departures, might just sum up the current malaise. The only players we are able to obtain are those others don't want; the board are unwilling to bid for potential signings whom other teams are interested in (see Craig Mackail-Smith for details); and the club is still controlled by men who would be more suited to running an illicit gambling den in London's seedy backstreets.
One thing is certain; over the past few years Paladini has acquired a reputation as a man willing to turn Loftus Road into a 'rest home' for footballers who are either on their way out or chronically injury prone (Fitz Hall and Dean Sturridge come to mind). If this summer is characterised by more of the same, don't be surprised to see Sir Neil Warnock cut his losses and leave this over-priced, farce of a football club behind. He and QPR fans fundamentally deserve better.

QPR's captain Joey Barton has continued his verbal row with Karl Henry, expressing his dislike for the Wolves midfielder and accusing him of "trying to hurt people".
Barton was on the receiving end of a hefty challenge from Henry in the closing stages of the Hoops' 3-0 victory at Molineux on Saturday and had a heated exchange with him on the pitch.
Later, on Twitter, Barton said that Henry should "keep his trap firmly shut" and compared him to a Sunday league player.
And Barton has continued to air his views about the Wanderers man, who he insisted on calling Kelvin Henry.
"Kelvin Henry – he loves it, doesn't he," Barton told Sky Sports's Goals on Sunday programme. "Always sticking his foot in and trying to hurt people. Why doesn't he do it when it is 0-0 in the game?
"He is chirping up all week saying he is going to do x, y and z to me and then he lets himself down massively by not even turning up on Saturday afternoons. He should concentrate more on playing and less on talking a good game."
Henry angered Barton with some heavy tackles during a match between Wolves and Newcastle last season, and later aimed a verbal dig at the then-Magpies player. Barton made it clear that there is no love lost.
He said: "Everything I read from him, I really don't like him. I'm going to go on record saying that.
"I know from his challenges on me that he doesn't like me – I'm not going to mince my words. He has gone out to make a name for himself,in my opinion. He keeps doing these interviews saying he is this throw-back to this old-fashioned footballer.
"I've made challenges and I embrace the fact that there is a physical element to our game, but I think there is a fine line between being physical and actually going out to hurt people, to make a name for it.
"No one knew Kelvin Henry before he started kicking lumps out of me in that game [last season]."
When the point was made to him that he was not going to calm the situation down by continuing to talk about it, Barton said: "I don't want to.
"Every time I play against him he is nonexistent. If he wants to carry it on, in my opinion it is not the shrewdest move because he obviously can't handle the situation."
Barton appeared to have the last laugh on Saturday, as QPR put in an impressive display to run out comfortable winners against Wolves.
The 29-year-old – who joined the Hoops in August having been made available on a free transfer by Newcastle after criticising them on Twitter – scored his first goal for his new club in the eighth minute, when he converted a cross from Shaun Wright-Phillips.
The visitors extended their advantage two minutes later thanks to Alejandro Faurlín's strike from the edge of the box and added a deserved third with three minutes of time remaining, the substitute DJ Campbell opening his own account for the Hoops by sliding in Armand Traoré's pass.
Barton also sparked controversy towards the end of the game by gesturing to the crowd, using his fingers to indicate the scoreline. He defended his actions and admitted the hot reception he receives at stadiums helps to motivate him.
"I can't repeat on live television what the crowd are chanting at me, and they are throwing stuff at you – then when you smile back at them and just remind them what score it is, you're in the wrong," Barton said. "I'm just having a laugh really. If they want to give me a little bit of verbals and make judgments on me, surely I'm allowed to tell them what score it is?
"Sometimes when we are getting beaten in games, as I have been, people are singing 'Barton, Barton, what's the score?' and you just have to take it on the chin.
"But yesterday they were saying what they say and I was just reminding them what the score is."
He continued: "Every time I play, everywhere I go, I run the gauntlet, so for me it's quite normal. For me to go to an away ground and get booed or get verbally abused is the norm. I have to thrive [on it], or you perish.
"There is a sort of sick side to me that means if I didn't, it would worry me a little bit - [I would think] 'why are they not booing me?' But what is great is that any team I play in, it frees other people up. I've become hardened to it.
"It would be nice to go to places and get a good reception, but it would be strange – I'm not really used to it. It is a pantomime, that is what it gets like."
Barton also used his Twitter account on Saturday to question the thinking of Wolves manager Mick McCarthy, who said in the buildup to the match that every team "from Kuwait to Kuala Lumpur to Kansas City to Wolverhampton" had been offered the midfielder as his spell at Newcastle came to an end.
Barton wrote: "'Wolves snubbed me' I read in this morning papers hahahahahaha....don't know what Mick's been smoking......"
Although there is speculation that Barton might be in trouble with the Football Association for his online comments, it is thought unlikely that action will be taken given that he has not been punished for them in the past.
However, having taken his criticism of Henry a step further, he could still be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

That's right. You know you're fucked when Fitz Hall is starting for your club.
Gabbidon has been decent for us but he's out injured. Never rated Anton Ferdinand and Fitz Hall and Matt Connolly are fucking useless.
Great performance on the whole yesterday, really went at City and they looked rattled at times but we undone everything with dreadful defending. That said was expecting a real tonking yesterday but have to eat my words, Warnock switched to 442 and it really worked, that and Taarabt not being available. Lazy bastard will struggle to get back in now.
Rumour has it that that's the case.

BREAKING: Neil Warnock fired by QPR. Statement at 7.30pm
Sorry QPR fans, but can't see the club staying up in the Prem, even if you spend money this month.
However, saying that, that opinion could change, depending on who the new manager is!...

Bruce was the first.
And KEAN is too damn good to get the sack!

Hopefully Warnock will move to another Prem club so we have another 3 points guaranteed :)
A part of me feels sorry for Warnock given the lack of funds he was working with, but then I remember he's a cancerous cunt and am glad he'll no longer be around.

Quite surprised. I thought Keane would be first to get boot.
I know he was a bit biased on the FA cup coverage but firing him would be harsh... :erm:
Hughes and Bruce would hardly enthral me if I were a QPR fan.
Its not a surprise he's been fired to me. There is a hardcore element that will be stunned and disappointed but I think we've got to be realistic, Warnock isn't going to keep us in the Premier League with his choice of signings. I highly suspect he's been fired for the following ...
Warnock: Here's a list of players I want
Fernandes: That will leave us with a lot of debt if we get relegated
Warnock: Are you saying you won't back me
Fernandes: Sorry Neil, its exactly what I'm saying
Warnock: I'll get my coat
It's all come down to money. Someone like Hughes would be an excellent appointment, just see what he achieved at Fulham with zip money to spend, comfortable survival and Craven Cottage a fortress.
He's one of the more despicable managers, will be good not having to listen to his drivel on MOTD.
He's one of the more despicable managers, will be good not having to listen to his drivel on MOTD.
He was quite blinkered and had a blanket opinion on most things so when he was actually correct in what he was saying, i.e the Barton situation, people still railed against him. All that aside he did a great job of getting us promoted considering how intrusive Briatore was in team affairs last season.
So he was right when he said Joey Barton would never do what Bradley Johnson did?....

No but he was right about it not being a red card.
As soon as Warnock made the comment about Barton play acting I face palmed.

If he has been lined up to become the new QPR, he clearly must have known nothing about it, as that would be horribly unethical, and he would never do something like that.
I wonder if Mark Hughes has realised what he's let himself in for, Barton suspended, Faurlin injured board waiting to sign new players, he's got a mountain to climb if he expects to make an immediate impact.
It's QPR. Individual players are the least of his likely problems...
It's the supporters he has to watch out for :folarm:

Funniest thing I've been reading is that Warnock was unable to attract/identify the right type of talent and as such Mark Hughes has been brought in. I'd hardly consider him a good performer in the transfer market.

I think its more of a case that some players wouldn't sign for QPR simply because of Warnock, such is his appeal.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of budget Hughes has to play with.
I wouldn't criticise his purchase choices too closely. Not sure he had too much choice when at City for one...

Well if its true he wants to sign Alex and Samba I'll be pleased simply because that would be a solid defence compared to what we have now. Fitz Hall. Say no more.
Alex would be a major coup. Can't see it myself though.
Yeah, Alex and Samba is (potentially) definitely a defensive partnership to be excited about. Both are very solid and have both scored decent goals too at the other end! :D
Alex would be a major coup. Can't see it myself though.
Was it exactly my initial reaction but the truth of what is happening isn't clear. I've read already today that Chelsea have both accepted and rejected our latest offer. I think the Samba transfer would be more of a major coup considering Blackburn dumped us in the Relegation Zone yesterday.
Oh and definitely no Roque Santa Cruz. No no no.

Nedum Onuoha

Granted the strikers are a bit hit and miss but at least they'll score goals opposed to Campbell and Bothroyd.
More importantly, the teams around us hardly strengthened and certainly not to the level we did.

I was very pleased with the Onuoha signing, in fact I was pleased with all the signings. The one I'm unsure of is Diakite, I can't make out what he'll be like from the highights I've seen. He looks a bit of a unit so I'm hoping he'll do a job much as Derry does except with better passing and goals.

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Every home game the same, dreadfully inconsistent officiating, one useless imbecile of a referee game after game.
Every home game ruined by the woeful discipline by our players.
Clattenburg got everything wrong today ... Except Cisse's red card. For someone of his experience what Djibril did was unforgiveable. You cannot raise your hand to another player regardless of how bad the tackle is on you. Idiot is out for 3 games now. What a waste of time signing him.
Wolves were dire up until the sending off and then as per the Norwich game the players heads dropped. Taiwo is the least committed defender I've ever seen, Onuoha doesn't look good enough to play central defence after today's game. Hughes bollocksed up every tactical change and substitution and how he couldn't get the players to perform against a team that had not won in 10 games is ... Well its shit.

Hughes really pissed me off yesterday, we couldn't defend the lead beyond a minute in the 2nd half, what sort of piss poor team talk and organisation is that?
If he thinks Taiwo and Onuoha are the answer in defence he is deluded, Taiwo can't defend and Onuoha didn't look remotely comfortable in the centre.
More annoying was that we could see that Wolves were there for the taking but we had to be tighter with 10 men .... so he left Taarabt on the left of midfield - who doesn't track back and brings on Armand Traore ... for Shaun Derry and plays Traore in centre mid.

Man alive, a trip away to Blackburn and two home games that we really need to win. It's even more annoying now than it was at the time
I can still see you getting points from all 3 of those games though. The Blackburn fans will be right on Kean's back again after their thrashing, which won't help the team. Samba and/or Yakubu might be missing again. Fulham's away record is poor and you know Zamora will be up for that. Everton are so inconsistent and struggling for goals.

I find it impossible to predict how we'll do nowadays, we throw away points with alacrity and Hughes is still trying to find his best team. I'd expect at least a point away to Blackburn, their team is hardly stellar compared to ours the problem will be Fulham and Everton, both inconsistent but more than capable of grinding out results against a team like us.

Just to let you know, City under Hughes were poor defensively. Richards deteriorated, when under Sven he looked good at centre-back. Even Kompany didn't look great. We improved so much in that department when Mancini came.
It doesn't surprise me about the tactical decisions. I watched so many baffling decisions under him. For me, a part of the problem lies in his backroom staff, which became nicknamed "The Taffia". Hughes should part company with Bowen, and bring in a proper defensive coach, and an assistant with a bit of tactical nous.
That was grade A shit again from Rangers today. Yet again put in a pitiful display in the first 45 minutes that gave us a bloody mountain to climb in the 2nd half. 3-2 to us was flattering despite having so many chances and the majority of the possession because defensively we so pathetic.
I didn't go so its hard to point the finger of blame at anyone in particular - but - the sheer fact Fitz Hall was in the side says it all. Dreadful defender.

just read an interesting stat that QPR and Blackburn share the greatest margin of scoring first but then not winning the game; each with 10 first goals scored but only 4 wins out of that. Chelsea close with a 10g, 5 win margin. Man U and Newcaste the best with 20g, 18w and 14g, 12w margin respectively. Not posting to rub it in but more a result of my continual search for good comprehensive football stats like I am on the U.S.S. Enterprise exploring strange new worlds just to find simple information.
I'm surprised I hadn't posted it earlier to be honest Iron, In all but 2 games I've watched this season we've thrown away winning positions. Really poor performance. I was joking at the beginning of the season about your lot heading back down, but it seems that a new level of incompetence has arrived and looks like it's staying for the remainder of the season...
Our return to the Premier League this season has been a pantomime, owners unwilling to invest during the summer, a new owner wanting to sign players he likes and dreadful discipline within the club.
It all started under Warnock and hasn't improved under Hughes. We've had Jason Puncheon and Fitz Hall seen leaving before kick off because they weren't playing, Taarabt catching the bus home from Fulham when he got subbed for having a shit game and then we have the three avoidable red cards. It's just demoralising shit.

Sirius radio football broadcasters are trying to get a public showing of this doc in New York City. Hope they pull it off.
Men In Blazers: If you love QPR or really, really hate them, this BBC documentary is for you. A "warts-and-all" fly-on-the-wall film following motor racing magnates Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone’s attempts to lead the debt-ridden club into the Premier League. To look at the trailer is to understand why the Guardian called the doc "the most vivid insight into the running of a football club yet committed to film." I have only seen chunks of this but am working to get a copy sent to New York. Drop us a line if you are interested in attending a public screening.

I can't call it either way but I don't think it will be tight though not considering how poor we both are defensively, on the work accumulator I placed it at 3-3.
We'll have Cisse back which will make a huge difference and we stole a point against Everton, so there remains some optimism in the camp.
If you score first and its within the first 20 minutes of the game you'll go on to score at least three before half time. We are truly shocking in the first 45 minutes away from home, we have players who need a half time bollocking to find motivation.

Sminky, you have beaten Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal at Loftus Road. You have drawn with Newcastle. Apart from the first one, this is all good.
But Sminky, if you don't take points from Spurs, I may have to blame you. And that may result in a ban, I'm afraid.

I'm afraid, Sminky, should you allow Spurs a win, I would also have to top this up with a second ban of my own. I think that's fair.

And i am forcing a bet upon you that if do not manage to remain unbeaten against both spurs and manchester united you shall be banned till summer otherwise i will be banned from the thread.
If you take points off one and not the other, the bet is void.

a) You never post in this thread anyway.
b) You'll probably be banned from the whole section by the time those matches come about, so there's really nothing in this bet.
Unbelievable result. So many players stepped up today and showed real pride, Passion and determination.

dems is stayin up points. Liverpool and Arsenal.
Right to today's game. The adrenaline and euphoria has passed so I now give an honest appraisal of todays game without my Superhoop glasses on. First things first, Arsenal for large periods dominated play, their problem was that our 5 man midfield played relatively narrow and deep. We played alot of long ball to Zamora, who really bullied Koscielny and Vermaelen, to the point that the latter eventually got booked for complaining to the referee one too many times about it.
It was a sloppy goal that Arsenal conceded for the first, if Arsenal insist on playing a high line they have to get the lines spot on when pushing up. On several occasions they didn't and they were spared by some fairly questionable decisions from the linesman at the Ellersie Road stand (he gave 3 clear on-sides as off against QPR and later said Robin Van Persie was on when he looked a clear yard offside). Taarabt took his goal really well and the booking for putting a fez on by the ref show's how the law is an ass. As if celebrating a goal warrants a booking unless it threatens fan safety. Stupid.
Arsenal's goal was fairly fortunate, although the did have a couple of decent chances to score prior to their equaliser so it would be unfair to say they didn't deserve their goal. Until that point though we had been breaking with purpose against Arsenal, Zamora worked very hard to hold the ball up and bring the midfield into play to the point he was knackered before half time. Arsenal didn't really cope with the hostile atmosphere, especially in the second half when they taking set pieces by the upper loft. Van Persie looked a little uncomfortable to the chants of "She said no Robin, she said no, Oh Robin she said no" whereas Walcott laughed off his stick.
We played quite well at times in the 2nd half, Diakite, Derry and Barton really put a shift in hassling Arsenal's midfield going in hard to win the ball. The goal by Diakite was from one of those occurrences. In fact Arsenal didn't have an answer to our gameplan or the aggression in our tackling.
In terms of who turned up for Arsenal today, I have to say it was easily Rosicky. Van Persie, who I had been looking forward to watching was really quite awful. Stinker by his standards. Walcott was a bit average and Vermaelen let the atmosphere get to him.
For QPR, Barton was welcomed back into the fans bosom with his performance, chants of "We got our Captain back" evidence all is forgiven. Taiwo and Diakite gave incredible performances compared to recent games. Derry and Clint Hill were absolutely fantastic, Hill in particular kept the defence tight and Anton really benefited from Clint's leadership. If anything, the Cisse red card now looks like a god send as we have a system and personnel fit well in place. Of course the problem is that it may count for nothing seeing as our rivals also won. Also this is typical QPR, raise the levels for the big guns and falter in the must win games. At least the result gives some optimism. We'll lose at United, obviously but the real key games are still to come against Stoke, WBA & Swansea. If we play like today, we'll pick up points.

I really wished I had this one on my TV today. They will replay it midweek here and will probably give it a whirl. I imagine they could keep Cisse benched after the suspension just out of principle. Cisse was looking dangerous a few games ago when they were just bombing it up to him and letting him try and beat someone one on one. That was the everton match I think; but forget now.

Sminky, you should be saving every shilling for Itunes downloads. Stop throwing your hard earned money at Van Persie.
S'up Sminkerchoo? Ready for the match tomorrow? How many new holes do you think we'll tear for you?
Tomorrow's match is completely irrelevant now thankfully. After Bolton and Wigan lost it means we can focus on getting through tomorrow with no injuries and look to win the Swansea game.
I expect we'll lose at least 3-0 as it happens.
Why does the poll not have a "TAIWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" option? To clarify, it means you're going down the way Wolves are. Which you aren't.

Without meaning to sound negative, do you really think you'll beat the Swans? Okay, they lack any serious goal threat, but their work rate and ability to control the pace and possession for 90 mins is excellent... I can't see QPR coping for more than 70.
Taye had a good game against Arsenal. He was due a decent game.

All but the same Swansea team we beat 4-0 at home last season, Swansea are safe now and I'm more than confident because as with Liverpool and Arsenal they will attack us.
If they came to Loftus Road and sat back we'd be buggered but because they will try to take the game to us they'll live space in behind them. We drew 1-1 at their gaff earlier in the season under Warnock as well so I've every reason to be positive - especially after the Arsenal game.
Swansea are in danger of being seriously overhyped. Wigan came to Loftus Road controlled the game and lost 3-1 because they were so open, its what I expect from Swansea. Playing on the counter is exactly what we need if we're going to survive.

Not if you lose 5-0.
(You won't)
It'll be 6

A decent win tonight against an average side. I think people have been blind sided by the Swansea footballing ethos because they've over achieved this season. The score flattered them tonight, it should have been 5-0 with their defending often comically bad. Rodgers substitutions were equally so, he handed the game on a plate to us.
As good a win as it was, for confidence alone, the Wigan result has probably done for us. I think they'll survive with their run in, ours may only yield another 5 points if I'm being optimistic.
Oh well. Blinding goal by Buzz tonight, made up for his shit passing. Diakite has turned me around (fnar) with his performances, another great game I hope if we survive we can afford him. I doubt it somehow.

A shot at at stumbling Tottenham this weekend I just noticed. Maybe another upset in the making.
Well if we lose I think it's fair to say we're relegated when you look at our remaining fixtures ... barring miracles elsewhere.
Great win tarnished by scandalous and contemptible officiating. Nothing irks fans more than inconsistent decision making. Two bookings for Adel, fair enough by the letter of the law he has to go but by the letter of the law where were the bookings for Parker? Fouled a player from behind with a nasty tackle. No booking. Dived, Clattenburg told him 'you dived'. No booking. Yet he brandished yellow cards for Taarabt, Zamora and Hill for minor offences. We do not want to see that repugnant cunt at Lotus Road again.
I called it last week. We would beat Tottenham. I still feel we will draw with Stoke and I still feel we will survive on goal difference.
Come on you Super Hoops aaaaaah!

just got back into see the result; congrats sminks. what a great end to the season QPR is having. I guess I hoped for this outcome today but didn't think it would happen. Easy on the bottle tonight.
Why do QPR seem to get a player sent off every game?
Why do QPR seem to get a player sent off every game?
Because Tiziano Crudeli keeps betting on it.
Red card today wasn't undeserved but it was harsh. Discipline has been something of an issue this season, but with players like Cisse, Barton and Taarabt it's not surprising.
All in all, everything went our way today. It was a truly shocking match though, Stoke really are a ghastly football team, sorry Nath. Four strikers on the pitch from kick off and none of them used to good effect, bar Crouch. Walters was lost in midfield, Ricardo Fuller had a game to forget on the left and Cameron Jerome was farcically bad on the right after missing a decent opportunity in the first five minutes.
That said we were dreadful. Zamora and Onohua were pathetic today. I was utterly disgusted particularly with Zamora, as were the fans around me.
"Bobby for fuck sake! Put some effort in you cunt!"
We were chanting Cisse's name prior to half time and it wasn't a surprise when he came on early second half. Any idiot could see we had to go for it. The goal, a routine tap in from a flick on lifted the fucking roof off the Ellersie Road stand. I fell into the row behind!
Whilst I appreciated and understood the optimistism of the fans at the end, especially given West Brom coming back to nick a draw at Bolton ... the fans running on the pitch with relegation far from secured (), you fucking idiots. That is the bloody kiss of death. They'll feel right planks if Bolton win away to Stoke next Sunday.
