This is a game between two groups: Town and Mafia. The town must find out who are the mafia members. But click the link below and read Basic Rules and Basic Samples:

How's this likely to work time wise? Being on shifts I'm not always guaranteed available & wouldn't like to be hanged without my own noose...
I know most of us on here work or study, so I'll let the day time run for a while and try to let everyone have a fair chance to save themselves if needed.
Do we have to join that silly website, or do you do it all?

Since it is the first time most of us will play this (I'm assuming), we'll just keep to the basic townies vs mafia.

Well night time doesn't really have a time limit. Once the mafia tells me their decision on who they want to kill, that's it.
Day time is a hard one, because everyones schedule on here is different. The best thing I can think of is letting it run for 20-24hrs. It would give everyone a chance to put their opinions forward, or defend themselves.

Just do it in real time, 6pm to 6am for the day and 6am to 6pm for the night and run it in GMT.

I'm willing to do it, although I'll be busy tomorrow during the day (uni). :lol:
But I'm only 1 in 16 of course, so it's completely up to the majority, I don't mind.

6-6 is fine for me, but if it's difficult for others, then I'm fine with changing it from that. Perhaps something like: 9-9/10-10 would be more suitable?

Can't mafia members discuss who they want to kill, whenever? I'm not sure how their discussions will work but it'll obviously be hidden from the ordinary folk. I've probably not understood this game entirely, have I? :faceplm:
6-6 is going to be difficult for me. I can do 5:30pm to 6pm and the odd lunch break now and then.
6-6 would be fine for me really.
Mafia are only supposed to talk at the night stage officially. But I don't see the problem with them talking during the day as well.
The daytime is the most important time in the game. Most of us are on at nights, so daytime should definitely happen after work hours.
So I think Billy's 6pm start for daytime makes sense. Not sure about the ending at 6am yet, but if a members get enough votes to be lynched, then daytime ends straight away.

Cool. Really night time will end once I recieve word from the the mafia on who they are sending to sleep with the fishes.
But a 24 hour daytime makes a lot of sense. And I'm sure most will be able to get on here at least one time a day.
So tomorrow, I'll PM everyone their role and Day 1 will begin Friday midnight and end Saturday midnight.
Edit: Just a reminder that their is one more spot available for anyone who wants to participate.

If we are going to use a 24 hour day, which I think would be better overall, then a shorter night than day would make more sense.

I originally thought there might be threads for day and night discussions. If I understand the game correctly, the Mafia members will be able to partake in both (town and Mafia) discussions. In which case, perhaps Mafia members will have a private thread created for them; or their discussions will be restricted via PMs; or, which I think is most likely, they won't actually discuss anything, but send their victim nominations to Joel. These nominations would be based on the comments made in the Town/Day thread. For example, if someone is making a strong argument for being suspicious of one of the member, they might be found dead the next day.
