This file is for the US/North American version of PES 2011 for PS3 updated with March 2011 DLC (Data Pack 7.00).

Contents & Features:

Main feature: all 18 MLS & 8 NASL clubs created for the 2011 season in the blank/fake league slots. MLS clubs have full kits and emblems. NASL clubs have full kits, but, due to editing limitations, a generic league emblem (except Montreal, which has its own).
Full CONMEBOL update for Copa América 2011 (squads & kits 100%).
All missing EPL, La Liga, and Serie A kits and emblems included.
All competitions renamed and league emblems allocated.
Nearly all national teams with real kits.
Removed duplicate players from NTs & registered real players in their place. All fake/false player names corrected.
Large number of appearances, boots, and player accessories imported from PES 2010 file.
MLS stats based initially on last year's MLS file (http://www.pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=77345) from BolivianFire & connoll3. Stats for new players cobbled together from all sorts of places: a variety of PES forums, past versions of PES, FM conversions, scouting reports, direct observation, etc.

Will you add some D2 US soccer teams? Like Montreal, Puerto Rico Islanders, Tampa Bay, Rochester, etc. It might be unnecessary but it would be a good feature to have to implement a good pro/rel system as well as a realistic Open Cup.

Thanks, guys. We'll be working on making the file compatible with the DLC and updating the file in terms of MLS roster moves. At last count, I think we have something like 35 MLS players to add to the file from the latest version. Also hope to tweak the file with stats, formations, kits and other details, to coincide with the start of the season.

Not exactly sure when we'll have the next version ready, but hopefully not too far down the road. Stay tuned...

I don't have anything in a spreadsheet, but I have some stats from the file we did last year written down. It's not a comprehensive list, and some of the stats are a bit outdated, but I could share them with you. PM me if you're still interested.

Your other options for MLS stats would be something like PSD or FM conversions, I guess.

We're still working on orientating the file for the latest DLC. Having to do that, as well as adding upwards of 50 players from the last update, is taking a little longer than expected. Hopefully we'll have the next version soon -- sometime this coming week, ideally. Sorry for the delay.

Side note: I'm going to stop calling this a beta, but we're continually going to try to improve the file, especially when it comes to kits. The guys who help with PNGs (venado & ¢Ħλ®₤ỉξ-[14] for the 2011 ones, in particular) do a great job, but sometimes the constraints of the in-game editing options make it difficult to accurately reproduce the kits. Partly because of this, we didn't include the 3rd Philly kit in this update, even though a couple of people requested it. The ugly 2nd one is still there. If we can figure out a way to accurately re-create the Philly 3rd, or improve on any kit, we'll try to do so in a future version/s. FYI.

One more question...I already downloaded the Konami update to my PS3,should I delete that before installing this OF and download it again after? Or does it not matter?
Are you talking about the DLC? Or the patch? It can be a little confusing, since they're separate issues.

There was a patch released a couple of months ago. I think that will d/l automatically once you start up the game, assuming you're already connected to the internet. As far as I know, whether or not you d/l and install the patch will not affect option file compatibility (The patch does improve a number of gameplay issues, though).

However, option files need to sync-up and be compatible with the DLC. So, for instance, with this option file, you'll need to be updated to the latest DLC (Data Pack 7.00) in order to be able to load and use the OF.

The DLC is available for d/l in the game under the 'Extra Content' --> 'Data Pack' menus.

You should download the DLC before you try loading this OF. If you don't have the corresponding DLC, the option file (specifically, the 'Edit Data') will not load.

Hope that helps...and isn't too confusing. Let me know if you run into any other issues.

I've spent a little bit of time playing with the stadium creator, but, frankly, I didn't really find it all that useful for trying to mimic MLS stadiums.

That said, if you or anyone else comes up with any formulas that look good, we'll take a second look and possibly consider adding them to the file.

I'm having some issue. I have downloaded the latest Data kit and game updates, and I have copied the OF to my USB drive. But when I load up the PS3 and insert the USB, it says the drive is empty.

I've used the drive to move other files to the PS3 before, so I know it works. Any idea what the issue could be?

Not sure. Again, follow these instructions if you're having difficulties:

Just in case: 1) Are you unzipping the file to the USB? You need to unzip it (ie, have a 'PS3' folder on your USB when trying to load); 2) You're trying to load the file to the harddrive first, not trying to initially load the file directly from in game, right?; 3) Are you going to the right place on the PS3 menu? ('Game' --> 'Save Data Utility')

Not really sure what else could be the problem...

FYI...we've decided to add the 8 NASL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Soccer_League_( 2011)) teams to the other blank league. That probably will be done for the next update.

Personally, I don't have much direct familiarity with many of the NASL teams, players, etc., so the update will be heavily reliant on FM conversions. So this is an open call: if you've got any specialized knowledge of NASL that could be of use, feel free to share...

is there any way to combine these fileson my PS3... or copy the MLS portion of this file to another... I notice each file direciton says to delete all previous OFs... so that means you can't have more than one?? If so, again, is there any way to combine the files or portions of them???

Well, I offered the link mostly for the formulas. Not necessarily the adboard images, although obviously they could be of use.

If you want any of those stadiums on your game, you'll have to do that on your own. We don't have any plans of adding stadiums to the file at the moment.

1. You don't want to copy over/replace the 'System Edit' file on your machine. You'll lose any trophies, etc. if you try to do that. Leave it alone. That is why the 'System Edit' file is not included in the download.

2. The crucial file is the 'Edit Data'. Unless something happened in the upload process and it got corrupted, you should be able to copy it to your PS3 and the edits should come through once you load the game (Side note: is anyone else having any issues with the 'edit data'?).

3. Try deleting the existing 'Edit Data' file on your machine before you copy the one from the download pack. Sometimes that's caused people problems, from what I understand.

4. Have you updated to the most recent DLC (Data Pack 7.0)? The option file won't load unless you're synced-up with the relevant DLC.

Besides that, if you're following the installation instructions properly, the process should work. If you have further problems, or can maybe describe what you're having trouble with or seeing in greater detail, perhaps I can be of better help...

1. You don't want to copy over/replace the 'System Edit' file on your machine. You'll lose any trophies, etc. if you try to do that. Leave it alone. That is why the 'System Edit' file is not included in the download.

Ok, well, I'd like to know if there is indeed any corruption in the files I uploaded. Again: Is anyone else out there having any problems? (Since both of the recent updates have had dozens of d/ls, and I haven't heard other complaints, I'm assuming others aren't running into problems. Is that a good assumption to make?)

With your problem, what file did you d/l? The full or the update? If nobody else is reporting problems, I'd recommend you run through the steps again. Maybe download a fresh file, just in case.

(I'm not going to be near my PS3 for a few days, so I can't send you a clean file. But I suspect that the files already up are fine, until I hear complaints from multiple people. So...keep trying.)

I wiped my PS3 HD after the recent Playstation Network meltdown, and I'm guessing it's f-cked in some magical, subtle way. I ran into the same problem.

I think the assorted images and files need to be in 'PS3'-->'SAVEDATA' folders in order for the PS3 to recognize them on your USB stick, like with regular option files.

So what I did was d/l the pack and unzip it. That should give you a 'PS3' folder with the files. Rename the 'PS3' folder 'SAVEDATA' and then create a new 'PS3' folder. Then put the 'SAVEDATA' folder into the 'PS3' and again try uploading via the USB.

Hope that's not too confusing...

Details on this version:

- 2011 Copa América: rosters for all CONMEBOL NTs updated for the tournament -- 100%. Kits updated 90% (missing a few of the new PNGs). Lineups & formations adjusted using some research and educated guesses. Changed a number of appearances, boots, & accessories, too.

- Overhauled classic NTs: added kits (ENG '66, FRA '98, GER '90, ITA '94, NLD '98, ARG '86, BRA '94) & adjusted a variety of appearances.

- MLS & NASL clubs updated, with ongoing alterations to formations, lineups, player stats, boots, & accessories. Updated a couple of MLS GK kits, as well.


Further notes:

- As mentioned, CONMEBOL NTs got full roster updates for Copa América, but the two guest invites (Mexico & Costa Rica) were left as is. I did not feel like adding mostly U-23 players to the file.

- FYI: you can emulate a reasonably accurate Copa América via the Cup option in 'Community' mode.

- If I run across adequate PNGs for the few missing CONMEBOL kits, I might release a mini-update in coming days with the kit adjustments. Otherwise, the next update will come around the opening of the MLS transfer window on July 15.

- If you're using fcpappin's stadium pack, you'll have to go into 'Edit' mode and re-link the appropriate 'Home Grounds' after you've loaded the update.

Hmm. If the file loaded correctly, the team names, etc. should have showed up properly edited. Not sure why you'd have to rename them manually; it suggests the file didn't load as it should.

As for updating kits, the only kits that can be updated are the non-licensed ones. So that leaves out Barca, RM, & Milan. Colombia's kits were updated with the last version (1.3), along with about 90% of the South American NTs. It'll be up to 100% with the next version.

I finally had to turn off the Playstation3 :(
I then tried again to load the "edit data"? I can't remember what it is called now, but it was the first file. When I tried to load it, it hung at 99% and ten minutes later I turned off the ps3 again. When I played a game it seems the game edit data took because the MLS and NASL were in the game but without kits and logos of course.

I'm not sure if the USB stick is the problem, (it's barely big enough at 128MB to hold the OF) or it is something else. I'm using my old Max Drive :) I'm gonna buy a new USB stick and see if that is the reason it takes so long to copy.

I would think that loading lags/problems are because of the USB stick. Try a new one. It should work better.

If you continue to have any problems, let me know. Theoretically, it could be the d/l pack, but I think that's unlikely, especially as there have been a number of downloads of the full file for 1.5 and nobody has mentioned any problems thus far.

BolivianFire had to drop out of editing a little while ago because he had too much stuff on his plate. Completely understandable. I'm not sure if he has any interest doing a file for 2012, but I would doubt it at this point.

Similarly, I'm probably about 80-90% sure I'm not going to do a file for next year. For me, free time is becoming a problem more and more, and it's likely to get worse in the new year (when the bulk of MLS editing would likely get done).

Depending how things go, I might be willing to consult on a file if someone else decides to pick up the workload. We'll see.

In terms of exporting the data from 2011 to 2012, that's an open question. I'm not sure if the import function has been changed by Konami. I hope it has, as importing data from last year's game was of limited value, since the bulk of the editing work in the created/fake leagues did not transfer over.

1.6 just refers to the version of this particular option file, since we've put out periodic updates and have wanted to differentiate the updates from each other. It has nothing to do with compatibility or anything.

If you have the current DLC (7.00) and are playing a BLUS game, this option file should work on your system.

Ok, I played around a little bit with the prequel function on PES 2012 and, as some of you have already discovered, the prequel does a pretty good job bringing forth MLS details to the new game.

So, if there's interest, what I'm proposing to do is clean up the MLS portion of the file *only* and post the 'edit data'. I'd do this primarily so that if anyone wants to take the file further, they'll have a decent MLS base to start from. This also might help with importing/exporting teams, which seems like a useful tool.

What I'd correct/fix:

- Add missing players that didn't come through the prequel, so MLS rosters will be 100% as of today
- Fix players and any distortions that came about with the prequel import -- hairstyles, commentary names, etc.
- Rough adjustment of boots & accessories.
- Rough adjustment of formations, lineups, kick takers, & tactics.
- Rough adjustments of kit colors to better match existing PNGs.

Again, I'm only going to be making adjustments to MLS sides & players. The rest of the file is somewhat of a hot mess because of the prequel and I currently have no interest in investing the time to fix it.

Also, I'm only going to post the 'edit data', so ideally the file will be aimed at people who have tried their own prequel. If one of those peeps wants to make the effort to post a complete file by copying the PNGs and posting a full d/l pack, be my guest.

Another thing: I'm only going to post the file here, in the 2011 thread. If someone wants to take a lead and post something in a 2012 thread/s, that's fine with me. But I'm trying to stay in the background for 2012 and don't want to be seen as taking a lead on this project.

So...if interested, please speak up.

I wound up fixing both MLS & NASL. I spent more time on MLS; NASL needed only marginal tweaks.

What I did for both leagues -- and, again, both leagues only:

I am available for consultation or help if someone else decides to push forward with that project, but that's about it at this point. I will re-evaluate things, perhaps, around January, but nonetheless think it's unlikely that I'll change my mind.

I made adjustments to MLS & NASL only:

- Rosters sorted & player numbers fixed - 100%
- Rough adjustment/assignments of boots
- Rough adjustment of formations, lineups, kick takers, & tactics.

The file outside of MLS & NASL remains a mess.

To repeat, if someone wants to take this and run with it, be my guest -- either in terms of fixing it up properly for a full 2012 d/l pack or for the import/export function.
