View Full Version : The Deutschland Nationalmannschaft thread
Couldn't find a thread for the German national thread - I assume national team games are mentioned in the Bundesliga thread? - Anyhow, I thought I'd start one up just because I suspect the Germans are going to win Euro2012.

I hope they do, they played the best football in the World Cup.
Gomez will replace Klose, they've got young talent like Schurrle, Bender, Gotze to cover midfield and attack, their defence is relatively young and solid with Hummels coming along and the legend that is Adler will reclaim his place (hopefully).
I really like their national team.

Judging by the quality of the youngsters being brought through at Borussia Dortmund, its hard not see Germany being serious contenders at the next world cup as well.

uA, you Kraut bastard!
Dale,
I suggest you join our ranks as well. Don't support the wide-bellied and overpaid English bastards.
Also I'd have said don't support Brum but it's too late for that I suppose.
I'm fucking English you Kraut bastard!

I've always been an admirer of the German national team. They always seem to go into tournaments very underrated and then end up going more or less all the way. I still have my signed Klose shirt from 2006 proudly showing in my room.

Its funny how he seems to get written off in some quarters of the media yet he still comes up with the goods. Is there a better out and out goalscorer at international level at the moment? 59 goals in 106 games is an impressive return.

They were by far the most exciting. I'm sick of everyone saying "oooh, were'nt Spain lovely with all their nice tica taca football?". I thought Spain were boring.

I think against Honduras Spain played some great football but as the tournament wore on the definitely 'ground' out result after result. It was a weird system too with Villa effectively left wing and Torres looking a bit short of confidence through the middle.
I thought as a unit Germany played some devastating counter attacking football (especially when they dismantled us with relative ease. I don't buy into the whole Lampard goal would have changed the game, Germany were head and shoulders better than us from kick-off and still would have won had the goal counted. Which is a shitter being an England fan!)

1. It's possible to not be English and support a team outside of the big 8 or whatever they're called.
2. Phats got burned by Dale. I thought I'd never see the day.
3. I thought that Spain were indeed boring. Germany tried to attack the whole game and they tried to keep them off instead of playing their tic tac thing, I think that's good proof that DEUTSCHLAND UBER ALLES

Nah I agree man, Germany did play some attractive football, and I totally agree that the Spain matches were boring. They played well, of course, but it was so shit to watch them just destroy teams.
Also, i'm English, so that means I support England. I can admire other teams, but I would never support another country. It's like treason or some shit.
Also, you're still a Kraut bastard.

Germany are one of my favourite teams. I honestly have very little feeling for England. When they got knocked out of the WC, and failed to reach Euro 2008, I wasn't particularly bothered. The media, and particular players really put me off the team.

They have so many young talent it's ridiculous.

I honestly had to double check his age when I saw him play for Schalke. Looked so mature.
What I admire about the German system is that the under 21's are given the chance to step up to full internationals. With England its a rush to play a young player as quickly as possible and then jettison him before he's had a chance to adjust to international football.

To be fair, quite a few countries do that. I think the Italians set an age limit before being allowed to step up to the full team (might be wrong on that though). The latest crop for Germany were disappointing though. Didn't even qualify for the Under-21 Championship.
It's always been a problem for us though. I think Walcott for example was rushed into the full team, which wasn't his fault. Only in the last year or so he's looked like he belongs there. Of course you get exceptions like Rooney and lately, Wilshere.
I'm proud to be part German though so I've always ignored the rivalry.

It has a a lot to do with the fact that the development of youths in the Bundesliga is second to none. The wonder kid on the team is not the exception its more or less the rule.

The Kazakh German, He's scored already for them as well. They've got these kids on a conveyer belt at the moment. Great time for German Football internationally and domestically but oddly not in terms of European club football.

Dark Horses? They have to be second favourites.

I'd put Spain as favourites and Holland a close second. Also, I want the bookies to give me good odds on the fatherland :D
Forgot about Holland actually. They probably deserve to be #2 fter the World Cup.

Dale C.,
you are an stupid english hater bastard, hahaha do you know what? your just jealous because england sucks at tournaments unlike germany is always close to win it. i don´t care if pes makes germany underrated unlike england. england has just fake superstars like wayne rooney.:realmad: don´t get me wrong england is a strong team but they often don´t play that strong in tournaments. germany is 2002 2# (beaten by winner), 2006 3# (beaten by winner), 2008 2# (beaten by winner), 2010 3# (beaten by winner). no team in the world is so successful in a international tournament. a so young german national team wc 2010 played the best football in the world. i think 2012 or/and 2014 one of them germany will take it. im pretty sure:)
It is true when you say that Dale is a "stupid english hater bastard", but you have to hold off on the flaming.

Lack of mention for Ozil is disappointing.
I ought to place my bets on Germany winning now as the odds will be so short next year. I'm glad UK bookies are still fairly sold on Spain and the Netherlands winning it.

ÖZIL vs Austria (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjaEPZnK43c)
I know this was just austria, but this team is the best german national team i have ever seen and i already watched world cup 90 as a kid... Lookin fu**** forward to EURO 2012! big things in the making
Man, I just think it's insane how well the talent program has been for Germany over the last decade. I mean, Germany could pretty much put a whole team of high quality players under the age of 23 on the pitch, and most likely go far in a World Cup with that team.
Just look at these names; Mario Götze, Andre Schurrle, Lewis Holtby, Marko Marin, Sebastian Rudy, Lars AND Sven Bender, Mats Hummels, Benedikt Höwedes, Holger Badstuber, Kevin Großkreutz, Toni Kroos, Bernd Leno, Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller and of course Mesut Özil. And that was just off the top of my head, there's surely several more.
Germany could pretty much use the same high-quality team on the pitch for 7-8 years straight.
Germany is definitly contender for gold in the coming Euro12 aswell as a heavy favorite for the coming World Cup in my eyes.

Definitely. The best thing about Germany isn't even the talent they have. It's that they play so well as a team.

You could put Gomez up there too. Still relatively young (26), and has started this season like a house on fire!
Bloody hell. Germany are only 4-1 with Ladbrokes, 2nd favourites behind Spain for EURO2012. Pah! I need a bad run of form for die nationalmannschaft to improve the odds.

Yeah, and I could've listed so many more aswell (Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Khedira and Neuer to name a few) that still have several years in them, but I decided to only list players under 23 to emphasize how much talent they have in very young players.

Why Germany doesn´t know that even a 4-goal lead is not enough for the win if you have some 30+ minutes to play
