View Full Version : How many of you have won the ML on Extreme?

I haven't, but have you?
i have...once! the most annoying part of it is that if you have to exit a game part way through a match the computer automatically finishes the game for you. i have been leading 2-0 untill i quit the match, then the cpu finished the game and i lost 4-2. also it is stupidly hard to get even barely decent players to join your team in D3. you can forget buying players like babangida and olisadebe then! winning the master league on extreme takes time and alot of patience but the feeling of achievement is amazing. i'll never do it again though.

i've won it about 8 times overall. to be honest i think it's easy and am very surprised everyone hasn't. i got to season 11 with my ipswich team and was winning it every season. it got boring, so i sold off some top players and brought in average players. Now its much more exciting, although i've been concentrating on a 3 player master league (as in 3 on one team) for the past months with 2 friends, we've also made it a bit harder buy deciding that we can only buy players who are from a country that was once a communist country
I'm winnig in extrem!! i'm in D2 and i'm gonna get up in D1!!!
but it's really hard I've tried many time before winning!!

Good idea.
We should try different challenges like only using British players and variations like that.
I always win the master league I am in.
My aims for each season is to finish top, win the cups and have top scorer and top assists.
I have managed these almost always.
Haven't yet managed to do it by winning every single match.
Has anyone?
I always win it by about 30 points, if i lose i get pissed off! Seeing as how the CPU always cheats. I wouldn't mind if i lost 5 IF they won fairly.

I've won just about everything for the last five or six seasons in Division 1 on Extreme, in fact I've only been beaten once in the last 3 seasons (though I'm just at the beginning of the 'third' of those seasons). Only in my first season in Division 1 (the third season of my game) did I not win the league, I came second, and still won the championship playoff. Hope this doesn't come across like bragging. I hope that WE7 offers a slightly improved top skill level, but I should say that I still find Extreme to be a worthy challenge, just one that I can almost always beat as long as I play properly, it's not soo easy that it is boring and that I can just cruise through each and every game. And also I currently field a team of superstars past and present. In the next season or two I think I will scale down my team, maybe buy the original newcastle players and try to do well with that team, which I know will be more of a challenge 'cos Bellamy couldn't score in a brothel.

Maybe not but he can start a fight anywhere....
It's be good for the diffuculty to go to 10 stars which would be too hard to play, so most would play on 6 or 7.
And an Insane mode for ML.

i don't think i've ever done it by winning every game, i may have done it without losing though. yeh, its great setting boundaries for your players, but its still a bit easy with British players as you can acquire the england squad and giggs :p Left mid is one of the only positions in the england team that isnt filled with a good player, there's RB and LB that could do with tightening. Ian Harte could go in at LB and the team would be class.
I've tried it with African players, but theres not enough of them, lol. Communist is a good balance, with players from Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Croatia etc.

Although i've done it before. I'm not a big fan of using historic players, some of them are just amazing, and think that its wrong that you can get them for free. There is an argument against this, and thats that if you dont buy them, other COM teams can!!

Which Central/South American countries were/are communist?
Do you use any of those players?
It is quite simple do to it unbeaten.
My best for top scorer was 40 and top assist was 27.

i know that cuba is one of 2 communist countries left but not really sure about the others, my friends have the final word on whether a country qualifies :) i just nod and agree, like, "yehhhh, they were communist yeh" :D
I won the ML on normal difficulty even with weak teams like Monaco, once I had a season with only 1 goal against me. Then I decided to play on extreme. Now it's my 3rd season with Real and I'm still in 3rd division:D, and my best place was 5th, but I managed to have the top scorer in my team, Raul scored 10 goals, unfortunately the other players scored....one:(
well well did any of you guys cheat by editing the stats of your players? I have a friend who bragged about how he conquered ML in extreme but when I checked his players, (heck he even bought the ones from egypt, china, etc) the stats were either full blown to 99 with all stars or in the range of 80 and above.
He justified by saying "the computer cheats, so it's fair"
lol

i cant believe so mant people struggle on extreme.
Yes it can be hard to get out of division 3. but once you are in division 2 it is just too easy.
Other teams cant compete with you choosing in form and fit players.
extreme is just hard level with players harder to sign.
yeah, thats the hardest part of extreme mode. you can't get decent players to join your club in D3, you have to score goals with the almighty Castello and Baroja.
Zygalski

I have never cheated in the game.
I have always preferred Huygens (aka Oranges) to Baroja in all versions of PES.

You can get decent players to join
Babingida, Mpenza, rebrov, etc these players are just as good as say shevchenko and raul

Those were exactly the first 3 players I got, in that order!
There's plenty of advice on decent players for extreme mode in the Hints section which is worth checking out.

football wouldn't be fun if the favourites always win :)
I've come to the conclusion that extreme is quite easy, it will get more dificult if you chose a bad team (like Hamburg), but its only dificult in div 3 for some reason, once you're out of there you can go all the way with espinas miranda castello and the rest of the gang.
I have however never played an extreme div 1 season and never lost. Funny thing is that my goal this time around with hamburg, im 10 games in, and have won 7, 3 draws, so i think i can go all the way without losing!

I don't think it makes much difference which team you are.
Besides the option of buying that clubs players back.
You just don't get too excited with seeing your kits all the time unless you make a new one each season!
how do you unlock the extreme level and the umbro cup
thank you
Zygalski
12-06-2003, 23:00
Extreme level doesn't need to be unlocked.
You just have to start the ML that way.
Next to hard.
The Konami-Umbro cup is one to the left under the Cup options.

Does anyone else find that in extreme mode, once you get into div 1, the oppositions' strikers are ALOT more accurate and that refs in extreme mode are harsher?...
...or perhaps i am just paranoid, you conspiring satanists!
Zygalski

Although there is a lot of cheating by the CPU, you can learn how to handle it.
It's much worse in Div 3 due to the crap players they give you.
Once in Div 1 it seems quite easy.

I have just started an Extreme game, and just as I was getting into it, I lent my PES2 out. Very clever, I know.
I'm getting it back on Saturday, so it'll have to wait until then. I started as Bayern Munich, because I like their home kit. :D
Fiorentina annoy me though, because Adriano is bloody good. And Huygens has always been better than Baroja. :D The thing that annoys me about the base ML players, is that as well as being unable to hit a barn door from 10 yards out with a guide-tunnel in between, and a really big vaccuum behind the barn door, they have no pace at all.
And Vorlander is better than Stromer.
My default Starting XI:
Kelsen (not Ivanov)
Valery, Daric, Vorlander
Espinas, Cellini, Miranda, Harty, Ximenes
Castello, Huygens
i quite like matt, the winger. he has got a bit of pace

And Vorlander is better than Stromer.
My default Starting XI:
Kelsen (not Ivanov)
Valery, Daric, Vorlander
Espinas, Cellini, Miranda, Harty, Ximenes
Castello, Huygens [/B]
Mine is (4-4-2):
Kelsen
Eddington - Vorlander - Stromer - Valery
Cellini
Espinas - Miranda - Ximenes
Baroja - Castello
or my (3-5-2)
Daric - Vorlander - Stromer
Iorga - Cellin
Espinas - Miranda - Ximenes
Miranda
Baroja - Castello
Edit: It came out all wrong first time!
Miranda is put ahead of the two wingers as an omf
what i do is pick my home national team, and try to win all the cups first then go for the league.always picking random teams in the groups and league.whichever team you lose against is the team you have lead to glory next and so on.can be frustrating at times.you cannot alter team tactics or formation and use no subs unless it goes to extra time.anybody else tried this?

I think you're mistaken, the team stats (like the national team stats) come from something and they are automatically brought into the game with the team. IMHO
Ive had considerable dificulty moving from d3 to d2 with the sucky teams, while i can go d3 to d2 easily with the better teams!

I thought that the team stats related to the players in your current squad.
Is this wrong?

Yes exactly, so if Hamburg (for example) has bad Attack skills, your attackers will automatically play accordingly to that stat.
Just like your defense will be a lot better if you take for example Juve.
At least thats what ive concluded, why else include the stat?
Nifty1Pound50
15-06-2003, 14:59
No, the stats that are there are to do with the default squads, i.e. Juventus have a good defence, so the defence bar is particularly high. It's in relation to playing friendlies etc.
Unfortunately, I don't think the stats change for your ML team, according to who you buy. The players who you buy play as well as their personal attributes dictate, but when you, for example, play a friendly with your ML team against a club, and load up your ML team, the stat bars shown are the default ones for the team. It's a shame really, because it would be a good way to measure who's team is really the best.

Then could someone explain to me why going from d3 to d2 is shite easy with the good teams and close to impossible in the first season with a crud team?

I got a British side going but yet to win ML Extreme (BEst 6th Div 1). The side is quite cheap too (i.e. avoid buying the Beckhams and Owens of this world)
GK - Given
Def - Ashley Cole, Harte, Campbell, Woodgate
Mid - Gerrard, Dyer, Joe Cole, Giggs
Att - Vassel, Heskey
Subs include - Bellamy, Hendrie, Carr, Matt Elliott, Bridges
Some of the better ones are hard to buy in Div 3 tho, so you gotta build it up
Zygalski
25-06-2003, 16:08
Good team there.
I am going to build a British team next time I start it again too.
I'm surprised you went with Heskey though!
To me, Shearer or Sheringham would be better than him.

25-06-2003, 16:15
Tried Sheringham out but didnt suit me, not particularly handy in the air. also Heskey falls over a lot less in the game than he does in real life

I think Teddy is a little underated.
Particularly with jumping and heading.
And passing and finishing...

I won Division 3 at the first time of asking - found that packing out the defence and playing on the break for a 1-0 works best. Can't claim all the credit for that tactic though, as Houllier's being trying to get it right for years!
Then managed to sign a few decent players, won division 2 in my 2nd season (as well as the ML Cup), and won the top division the year after.
After that I had loads of moolah in the bank and pretty much anyone I made an offer for signed without a hitch.
Haven't used any "Classic" players though, that's cheating.
Zygalski

That's a matter of opinion.
More credit to you that you didn't use them.

Think I'll definitely have to try the "all English" team. Even if only for patriotism.
But I don't want Emile Heskey anywhere near my squad. I don't even want him to drive past the ground!
Zygalski
26-06-2003, 16:51
English will get tiresome I think.
I'm going for a British and Irish combined team.
Absolutely agree with you on Heskey.
Liverpool may be getting £6m for him!

I won Master League alot on Extreme.I am currently in my 9th season on extreme(WE6 FE).I use to come second are third but now,I am always first with a considerable margin of goals and points.I managed not to lose a single game with a default only team. That was challenging for a while then I went back to my Star Real Madrid line up.Still love the game but it's getting a tad bit boring.:D ;)

Dude, teddy has one of the best heading abilities in the modern game! His headers are accurate and powerful.
Many crucial goals scored by his patrick-swayze-wannabe head!
And he is great on assists and spreading the play due to his 'great football brain'.

It Is the same problem in all the games since pro evo 1 on the ps1.
There aren't enough really good players most of the so called good ones like raul are too slow etc.
So you dont have any competition i am using the prem league xport file which is a bit harder i have updated a lot of players to try and make the game harder but it is still too easy.
I even decided to sell any players no matter who if i got an offer so i would have to use more players but guess what 2 offers in 4 seasons that sucks.
Zygalski
27-06-2003, 12:04
If you want a challenge, get one of the evo-web option files.
There's a team made up of the makers and they all have stats of 99 for everything.
Unsurprisingly, the team wins a lot!
:)
It is surprising that you haven't received many offers for your players.
Do you check it enough to see if there are offers?
earlybird
27-06-2003, 12:35
I don't usually get offers for mine during the season. But in those 4-8 pre-season weeks the offers come flooding in.
But I've had Seedorf since I was in Div 2 and no bugger'll buy him off me!
Zygalski

It's the same for me.
Not selling my stars to no-one!
I am glad when an offer comes in for a player I want to discharge.

Has anyone actually won EVERY single game on extreme level, thats the Cup, League and Championship?
I did it the other day. Just wondering if anyone else has.
Doing the treble on extreme isn't hard at all, I've done it for the past 3 seasons.
Anything other than extreme isn't worth bothering with.
Whoever said that PES3 should have upto 10-star level is a great idea.
Zygalski
27-06-2003, 16:34
richiered says he has won every game.
I haven't yet but going for it this season!
I prefer playing with national teams and it's a shame it only goes to 5 stars for national games.
Or you could sign a complete national side for your master league...
i seriously don't understand how some people think that master league on extreme is hard, i think it's a pice of piss! i'm now using a team totally made of players u train and make better by using them, although they have to play out of position alot cos there's never a player on offer who plays in the position u need.
I think for PES3 konami should give u more than 1 player on offer to buy cos i hate that u don't get a choice and if u decide not to buy a player once in hope for a different one in a better position u regret it if it turns out to be a shit position i.e another f*ckin keeper! and then u never see that previous player again
Zygalski

If the game is too esay, maybe you need to play against some decent human opposition.
Look for one of the tournaments.
