But we still don't know whether there is a third party knocking around. I think a lot of people look clear from being a member of the Dalton Gang, but until we find out whether there is a third party, we still can't guarantee who is definitely a texan.

There are just far too many responses to this that I find it impossible to just pick one.
So, Hunter was Jesse then? Really didn't see that coming, especially after the whole sig incident... still, another good night for the town, that's a real big positive that we now need to try and follow up on.
Hunter who was safe on odd numbered nights? Or is it because they were roleblocked?
My feeling was the odd numbered night. I'm not sure if we have a Sheriff. If we have, then they have been playing things very close to their chest.
I also find it very ususual that fick is not posting.
I had to be sociable with the missus in the evening. Was on here most of the afternoon, but with it being night I couldn't exactly contribute what with the thread being off-limits for tactical chat.

If you were a Texan, you'd want us to find out who the Dalton's are so that we could lynch them and would, therefore, if you found another person suspicions, share the reasons for that suspicion with the rest of the Texans. If you were a Dalton, you'd want to try and create confusion and disharmony, which is what you're currently doing.

Yes, but as Dundon's said, he phoned you and Billy to get you both to come vote. If this is true and Dundon's is a Texan (which I believe he is), it would be hard for you to say no to voting without giving away your true, Dalton, allegiances. Appswah was essentially dead by the point you came in. If not that day than the day after because of how suspiciously he had acted. You casting that vote to lynch him could have been a very crafty attempt to deflect all suspicion from yourself.
Personally, I don't really think you're a Dalton, I'm just playing devil's advocate and pointing out the flaw in your logic. If it was up to me (which I guess it is, to the extent of 1/8 or however many votes we need for a lynch), I'd lynch Dragonfly. I do want to hear what he has to say first though.

Today, I can't look past Dragonfly. In fact, I'm just going to vote for him right now. Because there is nothing he can say that will explain why Apps decided to not vote for him when he had the most votes that day.
Pretty sound reason in theory and barring something better coming up over the next few hours, one I am likely to back... :hmm:
I'm still not convinced about Dragonfly, but I don't think we can let his actions with his sig change go, because like Billy said it'd make us look stupid.
One thing i've been thinking about is why they chose to kill Hunter.
Hunter made the case for lynching Dragonfly and pointed out the solid evidence behind his argument. So maybe the Daltons panicked and to protect their own (and get rid of the primary prosecutor) got rid of Hunter. This would knock the foundations out of the theory because Hunter was the first one to pick up on it. Also, Hunter turned out to be Jesse James, so the Daltons knew he wasn't one of them.
I think Dragonfly is Dalton. Then again, it all just seems a bit too obvious, you know? :erm:

Bammer's did come across as rather cult-ish in the last game, at times. Though I never believed he was the leader until I got a message from Sminky saying I had been recruited by the cult leader, Bammers!
You also have to remember that in the last game, Bammers WAS playing against the town, but he was also playing against the mafia. So by your logic, this would mean that Joel is more likely to have some sort of cult-like role, rather than actually being Dalton.

Barn - I prefer the high quality atmospheric pictures that are available from The Assassination of Jesse James...... to be honest with you. They each tell a story and carry a meaning, and as I say, it helps that most are of high quality.

I've only had time to read through a bit of the last few pages but I can see that Dragonfly still looks rather suspicious so I've stuck my vote in for him. Hopefully we're lynching someone who isn't a townie.

I don't think the signature thing is relevant anymore.
It's more to do with Apps seemingly siding with him, not voting for him when he had the most votes and then both of them targetting Matt.

The first vote for him was due to the Avatar, which is a minor reason. But now everyone is voting for him now because of Appswah picking Matt (who only had one vote) over him who had three. The same reason you got everyone to lynch Appswah, no?

I don't know about everyone else, but the main reason I'm voting for DF is because Appswah didn't vote for him yesterday, when Dragonfly was the main suspect for lynching.

I've never really been an early voter in mafia wars, unless I'm absolutely sure of it (like I was with Amateur). I like to see if a better option turns up, and how well that person can defend his self.

But we still don't know whether there is a third party knocking around. I think a lot of people look clear from being a member of the Dalton Gang, but until we find out whether there is a third party, we still can't guarantee who is definitely a texan.
I think we have a fair idea of who is Texan though and the first Dalton Death told us alot about it IMO.

‘GODDAMNIT!!!’
Bob launched the items on the table across the room in a furious rage, before dropping into the corner in tears. Grat grasped his brother’s shoulders in an effort to console him, kneeling down in front of him.
‘Bob, listen to me – listen to me now. Em’s dead – ain’t nothin’ we do to bring him back. But I promise you know there’s gonna be some retribution dealt. That bastard Bammers is gonna suffer, you best believe it. Grab your gear and get the horses ready. He’ll be joinin’ his cunt brother in hell before the night is out. He called down the thunder, and hell’s coming with us.’
At Slit Creek meanwhile Billy Bammers stopped to water his horse. The death of his twin brother Jimmy had been partially avenged, but the job was only half done. Emmett Dalton knew nothing as Bammers crashed into his room, blowing his brains out over the tits of the whore he was fucking. He picked his moment carefully, waiting until Grat and Bob had left the saloon to join a local poker game. He knew he couldn’t take the brothers together – he would have to plan his strategy carefully, try to isolate them if possible. He was expecting the brothers to come after him. He hoped they would. He’d made his tracks very deliberate to this end. Preparations would be made. Grat and Bob were walking into an ambush.
Night fell over Slit Creek. A mist descended over the hills. The stream ran quiet. Two horses slowly trotted into view. One of the men dismounted to examine the ground.
‘The tracks run dry here Grat. Bastard must be close. Watch yourself.’
From here on Grat embarked on foot alongside his brother, shotgun primed. He was startled by a deer dancing across his sight of fire. Bob suddenly stopped his brother.
‘You hear that?’
Grat listened carefully to the feint sound as it grew increasingly louder.
‘Get down!’
Grat took his brother to the ground as the explosion ripped through the air.
‘Bastard’s rigged this place with dynamite. You alright Bob?’
‘Fuck! My leg is shot through. Christ Almighty! I’ll gut that son of a bitch when I get my hands on him!’
‘You won’t be guttin’ anyone in that state. Get behind that rock, maybe you can give me some coverin’ fire.’
Amid groans of agony Bob managed to crawl behind a nearby rock as his brother took cover on the opposite side of the road.
‘You hear me you yellow son of a bitch?! You gonna pay for what you did to Em’. When I’m done with you you’ll be beggin’ for death just like your no-good brother did.’
A shot rang out from the darkness. Grat dropped lower. He whistled to his brother. He gestured for covering fire. Bob followed and fired some shots blindly, drawing Bammers’ fire. Meanwhile, Grat moved wide along Bammers’ flank. Bammers had laid down some traps in anticipation of this but the wily veteran Grat gently dropped into the stream to negate the threat. Bammers however was no fool. As Grat clambered up the embankment, Bammers pulled left and shot, sending Grat back down into the stream. He came upon Grat lying face down in the bloodied water.
‘Sorry son of a bitch.’
As he kicked Grat over he was met with a shotgun blast to the chest.
Bammers coughed and spluttered blood as Grat peered over him, dragging him up the embankment with some difficulty. He had taken a shot to the jawbone but pure hatred was fuelling him now. Bob had managed to fashion a crude prop and joined his brother.
‘Give my regards to your brother in Hell you sorry sack of shit.’
With this Grat turned Bammers onto his stomach and grabbed the reins from his horse, wrapping them around Bammers’ throat. He then proceeded to put his knee in Bammers back and pulled backwards with searing hate. As he pulled furiously blood began to seep from his hands. With one almighty yell and backward thrust a violent snap could be heard and Bammers’ head was brutally wrenched from his body. The headless torso fell forward into the dust. His head was affixed to a pole which was then driven through Bammers’ body. Grat pulled down the Slit Creek signpost and wrote an inscription in his own blood.
‘Here lies Billy ‘Bam-Bam’ Bammers - murderer, thief and sorry bastard. May he burn in hell for all eternity.
Conclusion:
The Dalton Gang killed Bammers (again).
Bammers was a Pinkerton Detective.
Day 6 Begins:
Billy Minof is excluded from voting today due to a rule infraction.

I doubt it Dale as Bammers was reborn in the middle of the game, so I'd reckon we must have had a cop of some sort from the beginning otherwise the town would be at a bit of a disadvantage. Did Bammers have any time to investigate anyone? I reckon there must have been at least one night where he's been alive since he was revived so maybe it's worth looking at his posts to look for clues?

Well that was a turn up for the books. I was hoping we would have a sheriff, but the Pinkertons angle is an interesting one. Will be really interested to find out what the perks were & how they could be used. Just a shame Bam-bam didn't survive. Again!

laughin man - If you look at the way he played last time, and the way he's playing this time, it's very different. In this game he's not saying anything at all that could help the town. Instead, all he's done is latch onto my avatar and decided to attack me because of it.
Papa - Another one who is saying very little. The same goes with Phatmann. Look at the amount of posts they have. I'm not saying we should judge someone on how many posts they're making, but both are around the 30s which is a "safe" number for any mafia type person to have. It's enough to make people think you're contributing, and at the same time, makes you appear that you're not just sticking to the shadows, trying to stay away from suspicion.
EDIT: The fact that I keep giving that reason for not voting Apps, is because people KEEP using it as a way to implicate me!

There has been no sign of one yet. When we killed Jesse James, it wasn't said that he was the cult leader. And inducting wasn't in his perks write up.
But that would mean they were only 5 antagonists out of 18. That's very unlike Sminky.

Yeah, it is unlike him. I think he usually puts himself out there whether he has a role or not. See in the last game, he put his head on the line when he was the cop. While I, of course, reject your suggestion that I might be Dalton simply because I haven't posted as much as some of the others, I wanted to quote this post as it highlights another couple of people I suspect. A few others have mentioned Laughin Man, so I'll direct this post at Phatmann.
As Ali said, we should not judge someone on the number of posts they make, but Phatmann's posts have not only been few in number but much more importantly, non-committal and quite suspicious, especially surrounding the Dragonfly lynch.
On the night after we lynched Appswah, the Daltons took out Hunter (Jesse James). If you recall, the original suspicion about Dragonfly was that he may be Jesse James, but that quickly switched to him being Dalton after Appswah's actions (and Dale's detective work). By the time of the killing of Hunter by the Daltons and the beginning of day-time, everybody seemed clear that Dragonfly was a Dalton and was to be lynched.
Except Phatmann:
Well a good night for the town I guess as we've found Jesse James and not lost one of our own. Leaves me a little confused as to Dragonflys position now though.
The best thing to do would be to hear what Dragonfly has to say for himself but unfortunately he's been surprisingly absent considering the circumstances he's currently in.
I thought the initial Jesse James idea was a bit weak but with Appswah following Dragonflys vote rather than voting for him, the suspicion of him being a Dalton looks strong. Would Appswah be stupid enough to stitch up his own mafia buddy though? or maybe he really did believe Matt was more suspicious than Dragonfly? My instincts would say that Appswah is stupid enough and his suspicion of Matt was rather weakly put across.
In between each of these posts was questioning from Bammers, who we now know to have been a cop of sorts, and declarations of intent to lynch Dragonfly. Yet even so, even by the third post when he is having to confess that the 'suspicion looks strong' (a very weak statement), he's still trying to sow the seeds of doubt in the town and try to save Dragonfly.
You would think that if Phatmann was not a Dalton with Dragonfly, but simply just truly believed him to be a Texan he might have shown some surprise then when Dragonfly's role was revealed, as those posts above can only really be read in two ways: 1- An innocent Texan, unconvinced by the overwhelming evidence and trusting of Dragonfly or 2- A conniving Dalton, desperate to save his partner. However, when the lynch, and Dragonfly's allegiance was revealed, there was no surprise, simply:

A mixture of this lack of surprise after seeming so unsure before, his non-committal to the cause of lynching Dragonfly, his unhelpful posts throughout the game, the numerical lack of posts Ali highlighted (even though I've not posted much more!), and Bammers' suspicion of him lead me to state quite categorically that I believe Phatmann is a Dalton.

I voted early because I may not live to see the night time because of my duel with Ali so I still want to put my vote to use regardless of what happens.

Well, I've stated my case earlier. Laughing Man was the only person really 'fingered' by Bammers after his comeback as a Pinkerton. Make of that what you will, but it certainly looks like a clue to me.
I missed this before. It could mean that Dale is innocent. But I'm also thinking.... why would Bammers have investigated Dale? We need to think about WHO Bammers would have investigated and why.
Interestingly, has anyone noticed that "Dale" and "Dalton" have the same first 3 letters :hmm:

Phatmann - I don't think so. Well, after checking his posts last night, I don't think so. At first, I was thinking maybe. But his posts would point out that he is not a Dalton if you go through them.
Plus, Phatmann has never been one to drive the town.
Papa - I haven't gone through his posts. But he is another one who doesn't really lead. I haven't seen anything different from him. Would be nice to see more from him though. Has he ever been mafia?
There has been no sign of one yet. When we killed Jesse James, it wasn't said that he was the cult leader. And inducting wasn't in his perks write up.
But that would mean they were only 5 antagonists out of 18. That's very unlike Sminky.
We just need to be more careful.
Yeah, it is unlike him. I think he usually puts himself out there whether he has a role or not. See in the last game, he put his head on the line when he was the cop. That was a bad move, imo and I thought that he needs to be a bit more cautious in the next game. But in this one, he has been very cautious.
When I came out as a cop in the last game, there was no need for me to be cautious. My role was out, and I had the trust of the town. However in this one..... obviously I have to be a little more cautious because people latch on to the slightest thing. Both Texans and Daltons can say things accidently that will make them appear to be guilty.
Papa - I think you may be on to something with Phatmann. However I will mention that I didn't judge him because he made a low amount of posts, but rather a safe amount.
EDIT: I'm I missing something with these duals? Is there actually any point to them?

Well, based on what you believe, I'm gonna call your bluff. I think you've seen this as an opportunity to lynch a Texan. IF I did die as a result of this dual, and my role is revealed, you could claim innocence. For that reason, I believe you are a Dalton.
You can challenge someone to a duel. Its a fairly simple concept mind, my missus will choose 3 numbers each under 10 for each member. I'll double the total, times by 7 and then divide by 3. The winner is the player with the Lowest total.
No-one is killed but just wounded and fair game to be sneered at by the other Texans.
You can only make one challenge a day and it must be by PM and the other member has to accept. It will be announced in the thread if the other player has declined. The big girl's blouse! :D

While I, of course, reject your suggestion that I might be Dalton simply because I haven't posted as much as some of the others, I wanted to quote this post as it highlights another couple of people I suspect. A few others have mentioned Laughin Man, so I'll direct this post at Phatmann.
As Ali said, we should not judge someone on the number of posts they make, but Phatmann's posts have not only been few in number but much more importantly, non-committal and quite suspicious, especially surrounding the Dragonfly lynch.
On the night after we lynched Appswah, the Daltons took out Hunter (Jesse James). If you recall, the original suspicion about Dragonfly was that he may be Jesse James, but that quickly switched to him being Dalton after Appswah's actions (and Dale's detective work). By the time of the killing of Hunter by the Daltons and the beginning of day-time, everybody seemed clear that Dragonfly was a Dalton and was to be lynched.
Except Phatmann:
In between each of these posts was questioning from Bammers, who we now know to have been a cop of sorts, and declarations of intent to lynch Dragonfly. Yet even so, even by the third post when he is having to confess that the 'suspicion looks strong' (a very weak statement), he's still trying to sow the seeds of doubt in the town and try to save Dragonfly.
You would think that if Phatmann was not a Dalton with Dragonfly, but simply just truly believed him to be a Texan he might have shown some surprise then when Dragonfly's role was revealed, as those posts above can only really be read in two ways: 1- An innocent Texan, unconvinced by the overwhelming evidence and trusting of Dragonfly or 2- A conniving Dalton, desperate to save his partner. However, when the lynch, and Dragonfly's allegiance was revealed, there was no surprise, simply:
A mixture of this lack of surprise after seeming so unsure before, his non-committal to the cause of lynching Dragonfly, his unhelpful posts throughout the game, the numerical lack of posts Ali highlighted (even though I've not posted much more!), and Bammers' suspicion of him lead me to state quite categorically that I believe Phatmann is a Dalton.
I didn't even have Phatman on the radar, but I think what you have to say is correct.
lets see what phatman has to say in his defence, not looking good for him though.

I said I will probably vote for him. I already made it clear that I was suspicous of Ali before LM's vote, just look back through thread.
Phatman, Ali and Buffalo Bill are my main suspects in that order.

Well even if the rules state no one dies we should have the right to change them, Sminky created this game and created some of his own roles so I dont see why he cant alter this tiny flaw and leave the men fight it out. I personally thought it was a great idea when I heard about it last night.
If Ali agrees I would like to challenge him to a duel to the death!

I'm not too sure on Phatmann. As I said, I was suspicious last night because most of his posts have been concerning whether there is a third party and not about chasing the Dalton's out.
But when I checked his posts, I just thought he looked confused.
But you do make some very good points, Papa.
laughin man is a weird one. On one hand, I'm thinking he signed on late to lynch Apps, so he can't be a Dalton. But then, the mafia players are evolving and they are learning that sometimes you have to sacrifice, in order to make everyone else look clean.

I was hell bent on getting rid of Dragonfly. That couldn't have gone unnoticed with the mafia. And also, when Dale brought up Appswah's situation, I more or less changed voted him straight away.
I keep expecting at the start of the new day, that the Dalton's will have killed me. But it is yet to happen. So it has me thinking that maybe laughin man in indeed a Dalton and because he continues to be on my case and looking saying, "I want Joel dead", they know they can't strike yet, because when people look back on the evidence, laughin man is the number one suspect.
And if he wasn't a Dalton, then why wouldn't they have killed me and pinned it on him?

I don't really want to post what he said. But he is telling me I should go for someone. As he was mafia there is no reason to trust him. so I will totally ignore what he said and carry on the way I am. I just wanted to check if I was the only one he was trying it on with?

Your so full of shit its scary, what makes you think your even high on the list of people the Daltons want dead from where im sitting your doing no more than anyone else.
If you want to get stupid on me like that let me return the favour, I thought I was gonna get killed last night but obviously the Daltons were frightened because I fingered Joel and if they killed me then Joel would be found out.
Does me voting for the lynch on two of the Daltons not count for anything. Perhaps the fact that the first lynch wouldnt have happened without me may even help some of the "smarter" players realize im the real deal *spits on ground*
