I posted this over on the PES 2012 wishlist and have modded it slightly to see who agrees (cant seem to make a poll).

Example of some kind of tier system and a larger difference in ratings required to move up into the next division.

Tier system example
DIV 5 = only allowed players with a maximum rating upto 70,
Div 4 = only allowed players with a maximum rating upto 75
Div 3 = only allowed players with a maximum rating upto (possibly 85)
Div 2 = only allowed players with a maximum rating upto (possibly 90)
Div 1 = No restriction of what players can be purchased

If you move from div 5 upward the money you have stored can be then spent to improve your side but if you fail to stay in div 4 you must then sell these players so you meet the requirements to play in div 5 again (in real life you wouldn't see Ronaldo, Messi etc playing in DIV 5 so it should be attempted to show some realism in game).

I have not managed to get out of DIV 4 so this isn't coming from a player who is very good or will have easy access to the top players but i still think its probably one of the best routes to try and make MLO a little more realistic but might seem a bit harsh for some (even me) knowing we may never get to top players for our teams (we always have ranked online matches though if needed)

This would be great, and make the default players suck less? I've played about 40 games in the past 2 days and won about 2/3 because of my absolute dog shit team, and every time I take the lead I lose it.

yes - this is a great idea - not sure of the best way to implement it, not sure divisions are the way to go... many users will simply never reach a level high enough to get the players they want to play with.

club reputation level is the way to go, very much like COD, as you level up you unlock more MLO content. Could even have a prestige level with even more rewarding benifits.

Also a list of challenges - such as 'have one player score a hatrick' etc... completion of challenges earn Club Rep XP and other unlocks, such as stadiums, availability of better players.

Some challenges could be epic - like have one player score 250 goals. not everyone will get there but some will....

I think this is a great idea!!
I am an avid PES gamer - it's only with PES2012 I have actually begun to enjoy online gaming, all other PES games have really been poor online. I am however becoming frustrated with Masterleague Online, I am playing with preset tactics with just a minor alteration or two. Nothing extreme. I play both coach mode and normal play mode but I can't get any decent results. I pack the midfield abd try to buffer whatever these amazing teams filled with Pato - Messi - Ronaldo can throw at me, but always end up losing 3/4/5-0. I rarely score and if I do it's a poor 3/4/5-1 result line. I am not a poor gamer, I am pretty good, but not when you have these default players vs the world!! It's even harder when you cant sign anyone. The money is poor, so your idea of limiting players in their respective divisions is a good one.

BRAVO!!
