This variant has been adapted from the original Telegraph Fantasy Football. I will be providing prizes for the winner and two runners up out of my own pocket.

Premise
Rather then a Fantasy Football game where everyone invariably picks the same players, members bid against each other for players. The highest bidder purchases that player for their team. That player is only available for the winning bidder.
Picking a squad:
A squad is a minimum of 18 players bought with a budget of £125m, you squad should comprise of the following
2 Goalkeepers
6 Defenders
6 Midfielders
4 Strikers
All players of the Premier League are available to bid for.
Each player has a default minimum bid value of £3m as soon as a player is bid on It will be marked on the thread and fellow participants have 72 hours to launch a counter bid or he will join the initial bidder.
Bidding works as follows,
1. You have 3 bids max per player
2. You submit them to me by PM
3. At each stage, If your bid is the highest, I PM the other player and advise him he must increase his bid. He can then choose to increase or abandon the bid (I will not disclose the identities of the bidders to one another or the bidding amounts, this is blind bidding based on the system operated in Serie A for joint ownership transfers).
4. The person with the highest bid at the end wins. Naturally.
Possible permutations
Q: What happens if a Player is released/sold to a foreign/lower league team that I won in an auction?
A: If a player leaves before the summer transfer window closes a refund is applied and you can bid for another player.
Q: What happens with Last minute transfers into the Premier League?
A: Say Sneijder unexpectedly signed for Norwich City on the last day of the transfer window, you have 24 hours from the real window closing to get your last minute transfers in.
Transfers
You can choose to sell players to opponents during the transfer windows. This is done similar to bidding. You submit your transfer request to me, I notify the player a bid has been made for one of their players and the other player can accept the bid or ask for an increase in the bid, to the maximum of three times. If you sell a player you must purchase another before the window closes to meet the 18 player squad requirement. If you do not, a random player will be assigned to you to complete your squad.
The Fantasy Football Transfer windows are active as per the real life Transfer Windows, with the exception you may bid on incoming players up to 24 hours after the window closes. Players other than new arrivals cannot be bid for outside of the Transfer Windows - unless in extreme or unforeseen circumstances.
You can choose to release players during a window to buy other players; each player has a default release forfeit of £1m.
Currency to buy players is earned by points accrued. Each point earns £100k.
You can offer players and cash in exchange when making transfer deals with other members.
Points scoring
As per the Daily Telegraph, basic scoring is
2 points if a player starts,
5 points for a goal,
3 points for a key contribution (i.e assist)
and 4 points for a clean sheet
Full points scoring information will be provided in time.
To score points, you must pick a team of 11 players each week that conform to the following formations, 3-5-2, 4-4-2, 4-5-1 and 4-3-3.
If you do not pick a team in time, a default will be picked for you on the basis of position and when they were signed.
