Although I'm participating in the one we have here, I also joined the official one and I'm gonna make a league when I'm not lazy, but my question for now is does this seem like a solid team?

You have lots of money left, right? if that's the case then the team is solid enough but if you spent the 100m on them then it's not too good.
On second thought: It is good but I don't recommend Ramsey. not gonna be a starting player next season unless Cesc and Nasri leave.
I'm banking on Cesc leaving ;) I think he can easily fill the void.

Yeah, I've definitely took a bit of a risk by having Gervinho as my sole striker. But hey, it certainly makes things quite exciting!

Overall, I'm really quite happy with my team. I think the midfield will pull in more than enough points.

I'm really impressed with not just everyone's teams so far, but the range in which everyone's formations differ as well.
I've altered my team just slightly, by bringing in Grant Holt as a striker for my bench. The great thing about Holt too, is that, while unproven really in the Premier League, he's been racking up the goals in the Championship, so I've really high hopes for him to continue his excellent scoring record from the last few years. This allows me to say alter my formation slightly to play him alongside Gervinho, and maybe switch to a 3-5-2 or a 4-4-2. It gives me that flexibility with such a strong defence and midfield I think.

JJH - I think Holt was also the top assister in the Championship. Possibly second, but definitely the top at Norwich, so there's potentially a decent amount of points going your way. I'll be getting him too, when I join.

Dzeko hasn't been great and Zamora is solid. Ba will shine this season and be Newcastle's top scorer (15-20 imo).

As I said in the post before, I'm running a seperate Fantasy Football league all together (I do all the leg work, calcs etc) which involves picking a team of two defensive teams and seven outfield players (plus 3 subs). Goals conceded go against and goals scored for; point for a draw, three for a win etc. £5 per team; if you're interested or would like to know more, PM me. The more entrants we get (53 last year) the higher the prize money.

I wanted Baines, but at 8.0, that's very expensive for a defender. Sure he gets a lot of points, but I can see teams being more cautious about him this season, and it's not like he's keeping clean sheets every week. :lol:

I usually get Huth. I got him last season for a few of the Fantasy Leagues I entered. I'm pretty sure I had him the season before.

I WAS top of all 7 leagues I'm taking part in, but Ramsey, Sessengon and Larsson fucked up yesterday. Only Suarez did well for me.

I can't believe I played Sczcesny over Vorm. Also left Tiote out who got an assist, left Koscielny in who was -2 pts. Terrible week so far.

Last week I dropped Ba, Coloccini and Simpson. Luckily, Defoe didn't play, so I benefited from Ba's hat-trick.
This week, I started Begovic ahead of Vorm. :facepalm: Why can't Stoke perform after a Europa game?
I only realised a couple of weeks ago that a player who I had on the bench had earned points. So is that when someone from the same position (ie midfield, attack) in your starting XI doesn't feature at all, they get subbed on? I always wondered what the subs option was for :facepalm:

:lol: It's not necessarily position-for-position. Assuming all your subs played, your first choice sub will be picked if one of your starters didn't play and if bringing on your sub doesn't counteract with the formation restrictions. For example, if your formation is 3-4-3, your first choice sub is a midfielder and a defender doesn't play, the game won't bring on the midfielder in place of the defender, because 2-5-3 is not allowed. Instead, the second choice sub will be picked, if said player made an appearance.
I've not bothered to check this particular fantasy league in months to be honest. Hopefully I'm not dead last anymore.

Right, reset my password and made a couple of transfers. Fairly happy with my team but I'm not doing more transfers at the cost of points.
I haven't done that to date, either. Not even used my wildcard yet. Want to bring in Adebayor, Bale, Mata and Krul over the coming weeks. Bent came in for Dzeko this week.
I just put Bale and Velios in. I'm happy with Dzeko and Ba as the main men and with Bale hitting some form as well.

Classic is better, but you can enter both.
Classic tallies up your weekly scores, the winner being the one with the most points at the end.
Head to head will see each team play against each other (like a round of fixtures). The points earned from that matchday is compared to that of your opponent. For example, say in one week it's you vs me, your team scores 37 points, and mine 32. You win 37-32 and get 3 points.
Ah right, thanks for clearing that up. Think I'll go for just Classic.
