Master League Online.... what a load of b******t! Please, please can somebody explain to me how it's possible for my team to be in div 2 mid 500s in points & tough to beat, to suddenly div 3 near enough relegated to div 4 on 449 with same said team? How Grafite had a goal ratio of 100 goals in 140 odd games to not even a shot on goal half the games I play & doesn't look like scoring anymore? How my solid backline is now making monumental errors such as poor passing in their own box or being caught out of position all of the time? How my players in general sometimes just stop running after the ball so an attack completely breaks down? How a bobbling ball now always seems to go in the opposing players favour? Why the player cursor has a mind of its own even though the settings on manual? Why my wingers cannot get to the byline anymore to put in a cross even though I was doing it for fun before? How from looking forward to playing div 4 or 5 players to getting beaten regularly by them? Because I can't......... it's gotten so bad it's actually laughable. Would be too easy to think that i've suddenly become a bad player overnight but we all know that's not the truth don't we konami? I'll tell you something now...... those of us that play real football want as real an experience as possible. If we make a mistake on the pitch & get punished for it that's fair enough but if you don't make a mistake then you've had a good game. Why isn't PES like this? For example, an opposing players attacking your 18yd box & you know exactly which direction he's going in.... you get your player in position to cut him off but oh no guess what, he's through anyway. I just do not get it. You do everything the game will allow you to do to defend your area but even that's not enough. Basically Konami, we want a FAIR game! A game whereby the winner is decided dependent on the users skill, tactics & concentration. Not one that is decided by your defender passing it to the opposition striker instead of the centre mid that was 5yds away. Not one where a player can kick-off, pass it back..... wait a few seconds & knock a long ball over your entire team into his strikers path for an attempt at goal! Not one where your great anticipation is STILL punished! Think you can manage that.... cos I don't!

In reality though, I can understand Matt's apathy. Every year we see more and more of this type of thread on here, more downtrodden and downhearted doyens of the once great game. Still, there was no real need for Matt to vent his frustration in such a negative manner.
As such, I suggest you both shake metaphorical hands and go your separate ways.

I agree with the original statement the game was good when it was 2006 from then on the game play has got worse come to think of it i still have 2006 I think ill play it for a while and power blast a few Roberto Carlos super shots for 50 yards out .... Now that was a game we all could enjoy!!!!

Aside from his anger, the dude has a point to be honest. You play good anticipation, you know exactly what your opponent is going to do and you still can't stop him. Either the cursor switches you to the wrong player, or a stupid cross-header that you can't defend (its all about luck there), etc. Dude's right, conceding a goal after you made a mistake is fair enough. Conceding a goal because the game AI decided you have to, is not fair.
I totally understand your point, ex pes fan. You're not alone. /lols.
Use the right stick to change player, direct it towards the player you want. Use jockey and well timed presses of A to snatch the ball, but pressing them together won't do anything. If you press nothing, the player will do nothing. If you time it wrong, it will miss. Timing has always been crucial in PES, I recommend zooming the camera in one to get a better view. I just think they have taken out "lucky" defending, you have to make the tackle now rather than just holding A and sprint. Super cancel is also now more important than ever when positioning players. I think a lot of the AI has changed to make it more down to the gamer.
One thing I don't like though is the slide tackles, he seems to dive the wrong way a lot, or straight past the ball. I used to be a slide demon, but I'm missing a lot these days. I feel your pain I honestly do.

jMz; In regards to the sliding In my experience if you turn slightly in towards a player you will slide tackle them with the correct leg. What I mean by that is, like when the player is dashing down the line if you turn ever so slightly towards the line you will slide across the front of him with your other leg planted under you for balance and quick standing. Basically the way your supposed to slide tackle in RL, if you want to win the ball and not take the man out.
