Since the game is out this week I thought I'd see how many people will be interested in being a part of the PESGaming club in Fifa 12, which we will hopefully be playing more than we did last year depending on EA servers and such. It's always great fun when we get a bunch of us on. If you're interested you don't have to play every single game; you can just jump on and off whenever you like.

Bammers is up for making his Team PESGaming debut :billsmug:

Have you ever played in a fixed position with your Virtual Pro or in online team play on Fifa 11? If so, what would you say is your strongest position? i.e. CM, ST, LW etc.

Bammers05
26-09-2011, 21:08
I've done a lot of offline games with my VP in FIFA 10 and FIFA 11 and I played a fair bit of Clubs in FIFA11 - obviously not for the Pesgaming one though. My VP's best position has always been centre-midfield or attacking midfield, but, if needed, he could play anywhere in defence and midfield (I think), depending on what the situation called for.

What time you peeps usually play? Since all of you are at Europe it would be hard for me to adjust. I'd love to join the team.

In the past we have managed to stay on quite late, mostly on Fridays/Saturdays, so you may be able to get a few games in with us if you're lucky. What time do you usually go on and how many hours behind us are you?

pategato
26-09-2011, 21:15
5 hours behind UK. If you guys stay late friday and saturday, then i shud be fine.

Once I get my internet set up at my place and get round to buying the game I'll have more time to dedicate to the game this year.

Phatmann
26-09-2011, 21:18
Depending on who joins us, we might be able to stay on 'til 1 or 2am ish. Maybe we'll get a few of the American users joining up like IronCity or Stringer.

I've booked the day off on Friday so will be beefing up my VP as much as possible during the day. It'll be nice to start getting all of the accomplishments again.

Miggy

Is it possible for yanks to play with us?
Or is that just Pro Evo?

Original?
26-09-2011, 21:20
I am looking forward to this year's clubs as the mode was so poor last year. As usual I'll play LF area, anything centre or left in midfield or attack. Anyone who saw me play right back will wish me to stay away from defence

pategato

Just PES.

Phatmann
26-09-2011, 21:24
@Original?, They'll probably say the same if they've seen you at LF though, won't they? You figured out which button pass is yet? :innocent:

I think the Americans are able to play with us, Miggy, as I'm sure Pategato has played with us briefly before.

Joel
26-09-2011, 21:29
I'm in. Not sure how much I'll be able to play, but for sure in the first weeks I'll be active.

I'll be making a striker (finisher) again. BarnDoor will no doubt make an massive son of a bitch, so I'll make one on the shorter - average height size to complement him.

Bish
26-09-2011, 21:30
Yeah, fuck it why not. Don't care where I play, as long as it's not GK. Would prefer a midfield role though. Might not get the game straight away though.

One of the shoulder buttons I believe? Though I managed to find it readily when passing through your defence. My connection has been better this year which will be good, internet in London is much better than up north in the wilderness.

Miggy
26-09-2011, 21:36
I don't mind CB but it's really hard to pick up points as I don't really see much action. I might try RB or LB. I could probably get up a bit more.

Dale C.
27-09-2011, 10:29
I'm in. Whatever would you do without my countless goaline clearances?

I'll probably be making a winger/attacking midfielder sort of guy, but i'll be available to play anywhere really.

PEM
27-09-2011, 11:45
I'm in. Throw me anywhere. I'm happy just to take part. Just not goalkeeper haha

Dragonfly
27-09-2011, 13:50
I'm in, of course. Defendive midfielder. What will you ever do without me always having to clear up after you attackers lose possession.

I might try being a defender, this time.

BarnDoor
27-09-2011, 14:03
I'll try and get on when I can, though it probably won't be as much as in the past. Fat cunt death up front.

Don't even know if i'm getting Fifa 12 yet but if I get the opportunity i'll help destroy a few unbeaten runs.

I should get on, probably not so late though. Delboy will get on a bit as well. Not sure about gin, probably not.

TheAlchemist
27-09-2011, 22:35
I'll be on and all. Same position as last time (CM or CM)

I probably won't get this until Saturday, but I'll send a request before or after MOTD.

30-09-2011, 13:22
What team have you chosen, Mike?

Phatmann
30-09-2011, 13:48
Central Coast Mariners, obviously.

Bammers05
30-09-2011, 17:39
Do we get to pick squad numbers or is that just done randomly?

Phatmann
30-09-2011, 18:18
I'm guessing it will be random but maybe you are able to use your VPs chosen number. However, I don't know how that would work if two people had the same chosen number so random is more likely. If anyone wants to try some clubs later on I will be online. I'm keen to see how clubs works out this year compared to the past few years.

Berry
30-09-2011, 19:24
I'll be online tonight for sure. Cheers for the invite earlier Phats, just let me know lads what's going off.

Has all our 'squad' got the game today?

Dale C.
30-09-2011, 19:29
I played a game online earlier; it's the same Phats. Everyone still runs about like idiots chasing the ball

It does seem more responsive and a hell of a lot less laggy.

Bammers05
30-09-2011, 21:13
We're gonna have a game pretty soon, if anyone's interested.

EDIT: Pesgaming start the season with a 1-0 win :nath:

EDIT 2: 1-1. The unbeaten run is maintained :nath:

EDIT 3: 3-1 Loss. I blame Dale :hmm:

Cesc Fabregas
30-09-2011, 22:48
I'm gonna join, should get my copy of FIFA in a couple of days and should play next thursday/friday.

Phatmann
01-10-2011, 00:45
A good session tonight which ended in 3 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses. It took a while for us to get going but the last win was very satisfying as we scored a last minute winner. Everyone seems to be of a decent enough standard for us to do well in this season of clubs.

Dale C.
01-10-2011, 09:57
Feck off Bammers

I blame not knowing that I was captain and being able to change the formation. That 4-4-2 was horrible.

I think we should play either 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-1-2, as that seems to suit all of our players better.

Bez at centre back was hilarious. He'd make a great tackle, then turn around and get instantly tackled again

Also, Mike, less of the over the top through balls thanks ;)

BarnDoor
01-10-2011, 11:17
It's early days and I forgot how hard it is when your guy is shit, especially when, like mine, he can barely move. Still I got two goals which I was quite happy with (should have been three). Thought we were unlucky in a couple of our games.

Dragonfly
01-10-2011, 11:25
Is this still as fast paced and frantic as before? Does everyone disregard their role and chase the ball (I don't mean our team)? How many blue/green/pink afros have you seen so far?

I'll be buying this today and I'll probably go online after MOTD.

Cesc Fabregas
01-10-2011, 11:28
What position do you guys want me to make my player? I prefer to play as a striker in a 4-1-2-1-2 but I can be an Attacking mid as well.

BarnDoor
01-10-2011, 11:29
I think it feels a bit frenetic at the minute because we have talentless players. Once our abilities improve I'm sure the composure will also.

Dale C.
01-10-2011, 11:46
Also, give the ball to my player in the box. Won us two penalties last night

I thought we did alright last night, while I was on, despite most of our players still being pretty crap, statistically, at this stage. Barndoor's VP is gonna be a tank when he increases his ability.

Btw, purely out of curiosity, what happened in the matches after I left?

We won the last game 2-1, can't remember how many more games we played without you. One thing that was annoying last night was the kit clashes. If you're the captain, make sure that there isn't a kit clash as it makes it difficult when I'm playing as ANY trying to pass the ball out and all I can see is a load of dark coloured kits, not knowing immediately who is on our team. I'll probably change the kit we use from the Central Coast Mariners so does anyone have any suggestions?

Berry
01-10-2011, 16:25
AFC Wimbledon? Portsmouth?

Can't really think to be honest.

A team with 3 kits would be nice though if possible

I have read the forum for a number of years now and noticed the club and decided to join.

Okay. No offence, but it still seems a bit weird to me tbh. Not that it should stop you from joining though.

Anyway, we had some crazy matches tonight. I went up front in one game, scored two and then got sent off. We won that match 4-1 fortunately. Another game the opponents got two guys sent off and it was like shooting practice. Only won 2-0 though. 4-2-3-1 looks like a promising formation for us. It'll be interesting to see how we do with Barndoor's VP playing as the striker in that formation, although TheAlchemist did a decent job there with his VP in the matches we played. I wanted to play more, but the game froze and then wouldn't let me get back in :realmad:

BarnDoor
03-10-2011, 00:41
I fucking hate my VP, he's shit. I'm going to try and improve him before I go on next. Lag isn't helping but that's not the whole reason. I got one chance tonight and fluffed it badly. I think I'm better off playing behind the striker at the minute, so we have someone pacy up front and maybe I can knock it down to him. I also seem to be better at crossing than I am in the striking role.

Phatmann
03-10-2011, 01:03
Yes, your VP is pretty useless at the moment as even his heading isn't too great. I think we might be better off playing with 2 strikers rather than having you as the target man for now, just until your guy improves. I'm still unsure where I'm better off as I was struggling at times when playing on the wing. I preferred playing at LDM but with 3 at the back it was a nightmare as their wingers would pull me out wide quite a bit.

BarnDoor
03-10-2011, 01:06
Well certainly I'm not working as a lone frontman, we need more people up top.

Berry
03-10-2011, 09:08

BarnDoor
03-10-2011, 10:59
You'll do. I was thinking DC should play up top and me behind, makes more sense, at least until I improve my fat cunt player.

They really need to make things more realistic in this game. I'm sacrificing pace, yet I also have no strength or heading prowess. I should be winning pretty much everything in the air regardless of my ability. It's bullshit.

Dragonfly
03-10-2011, 13:54

He has zero pace at the moment. I think we're fine with 4231, but when you receive the ball the three AMs should look to run off you.

I wish I didn't gloat after my three MOTM awards in a row. I was shit the next game.

Berry
03-10-2011, 18:18
I could give it a go up front if you like?

Or you prefer me at the back?

I'll play anywhere for the gaffer ;)

BarnDoor
03-10-2011, 18:20
Berry you're actually very good at the back, no nonsense, and especially useful since the CPU defenders are so wank.

Alright I've improved my guy considerably today, should be a lot better tonight. Pace is obviously still lacking but his heading and finishing should be a lot better.

Joel
03-10-2011, 18:46

9 game unbeaten run :nath:

I'm quite liking the defensive midfield role in the 4-2-2-2 formation we played tonight. Gave me more time on the ball and the chance to make late runs into the box. My defending's not great (as evidenced by that epic own goal), but, as long as I have someone responsible next to me, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Berry, or indeed anyone playing centre-back, when we're a goal down with five minutes or so to go, maybe you guys should maraud forward and become an auxilliary striker. Up to you though, obviously.

A complete turnaround from previous nights where we have mainly lost or drawn. I think we've finally found a formation that works and have settled into our respective positions. Even when we moved around we were comfortable and were able to string some good moves together. The only problem we had tonight was our finishing; we could've scored a hell of a lot more goals. Considering we won most of our games that isn't a huge problem.

BarnDoor

Bammers05
04-10-2011, 14:12
No.

Btw, I think we need to think up some synchronized celebrations. The knee-slide thing looked quite good yesterday - it'd be epic with 5/6 players doing it at the same time.

We had some tough challenges tonight. Seems like we're still trying to click as a team. But at the same time, we're winning many more than we're losing or drawing, so we're heading in the right direction.

I think our best formation is definitely 4-2-2-2. Personally, of the people I've seen play and the positions they've played in, I wouldn't mind seeing us line up like this, if we could get everyone on at the same time:

 I think what happened was that it was an own goal, but my cross was on target....? :erm:

Hi. :)

Was hard to get into and, tbf, I didn't have a clue what I was doing for the first couple. Decent fun though. When you left, so did I.

Do you guys have set positions or just mix round whenever?

I'll take CAM whenever I can, purely because it's an inbetween. Too lightweight to be a DMF and not good enough at finishing to be a striker.

Also, some suggestions. Can we please stop making the computer do retarded passes please? The amount of times we lose the ball becaus the strikers or wingers are hammering the 'pass to me now you twat' button. I know it's tempting, but if we keep losing the ball we aren't going to get anywhere.

Also, sort of related to the above point, can we use less retarded over the top throughballs? None of our players are tall enough to be able to handle them apart from Bez' and Barndoor.

Also, we need to remember how to play simple football

First point is spot on. Though it is far from just the strikers and wingers who are pressing that button too much. The most dangerous place to press it is in defence.

As for your second point, you don't have to be tall to handle an chipped through ball... if the pass is played correctly the recipient should be running onto the ball. Do we need less of them? Maybe. Better even than that would be using chipped through balls or ground through balls depending on the situation.

Couldn't play last night as I was playing against mates.

Cheers Bez, I thought everyone was very good last night though I was happy to get a few goals. The passing was a lot better all round and that 7-0 could have easily been double figures.

One thing I must apologize for is my crossing where I seem to just kick the ball out of play - I'm not pressing shoot and my guy isn't too bad at crosses so I don't know why that is happening. I can imagine the collective groans but trust me I was doing the same.

You weren't holding L2 were you? This seems to discount the crossing and simply allows you to play a long pass in the direction you are holding.

Generally, we played very well last night 4-3-2-1 worked very well until BarnDoor left. I think this formation needs an aerial threat as the focal point. We seemed more defensively sound as well, Alchemist was excellent in the middle though there were a few times when all three midfielders pushed forward. I think it's best to have one hold back a little, it doesn't matter who but if two have already gone forward then the third should stay a little deeper to mop up. We can't really leave a CPU back four open. Only a minor point though, individually I thought we all played well and worked together well.

BarnDoor

No I never hold L2.

Dale C.
10-10-2011, 20:39
That's what i'm saying. Even when Bez is on we could do that, cause his pro is fairly tall as well. Although saying that, Bez does need to learn to header the ball better, seems to always get beaten by his opponent in the air!

This exactly right, we need to play the ball to the front quickly when we don't have BarnDoor on and try to get in behind. When BarnDoor is on, early crosses are all well and good but quality is just as important. I have early cross, skilled dribble, outside foot, finesse shot and second wind. I also have driven pass and long throw but neither seem useful when playing left forward.

We really need to improve our clinicality in front of goal - the amount of times we battered teams tonight and then didn't win was silly. It's no-one's fault, in particular, but we, as a team, just need to make sure we take our chances.

Dale C.
13-10-2011, 10:42
Yeah we do. I also think we need to stretch play a bit more, obviously depending on the formation. Mike's good at doing this, but it seems that everyone else just ball chases down the middle of the pitch.

We also need to look at the radar more, because I was positioning myself literally right on the byline and several times, I was in absolutely bags of space, and all it needed is a big switch and we would have been in. We just need to have a little look first before we all rush forward.

Original?
13-10-2011, 20:35
I think both points are valid, we created shed loads of openings when I was playing but our finishing let us down. As for width, mixing it up is the best come inside, go outside but we do need to stretch teams as much as possible. Whoever play ST should really try and play on the shoulder and keep our attack high. This will allow us to counter more effectively.

As for the passing, more variation and quicker passing would really help. Also, calling for the ball is really disrupting our attacking and causing us problems in defence because people are asking the CPU to make ridiculous passes. We need to look at the risk to reward of some of our passes/runs as well, risky passes/runs are okay if there's a real benefit at the end. Simple passing is the way forward, unless there's a high potential for a chance from a riskier pass. Don't dribble the ball forward in the centre circle for example when we can get the ball forward quicker with a simple pass.

We're playing pretty well clearly but if we can get used to each other a bit more it would be good. Communication would be good, mics might be useful but we also have calling for the ball... you can use it when a human player has the ball to signal how you'd like to receive the pass etc.

Good wins tonight (and we won a trophy...I think ). The team worked really well tonight. I thought our collective defensive performance was much improved on previous nights, probably thanks to Berry's strong performances as a DM, and, attacking-wise, it felt a lot more fluid. There are, of course, still times when people go for improbable passes, when there are simpler ones on and some people still have a tendency to spend too long on the ball (*cough* xlivix), but those negatives in our play are starting to decrease and, overall, I thought we did very well tonight.

Berry
14-10-2011, 23:54

I think people up their game for cup matches, as there's something riding on the outcome. I was certainly more responsible defensively without really realizing it.

As for the penalties, I knew beforehand that I'd be the fifth penalty taker, given my position in the team, so I was prepared. I wasn't expecting to have to take the match-winning penalty twice, but, fortunately, they both went in :smug: Phat and Barn did very well with their penalties too. Xlivix and Fab didn't do so well with their's though :(

Good session last night. I was pissed off I couldn't play in that game - EA servers fucked up as I was going into the match room, and came back on a minute later but it was too late by then - but that last game where there was 4 of us was a real demolition job in the second half - 4 goals and it would have been more had they not quit. Always love those triple-tap crosses leading to own goals. Cup matches should be standard. Having extra-time and penalties adds a more epic feel to proceedings, even though my guy was literally out on his arse by the end.

I know I'm his arse minion but I thought Jonno was very good in that first match, especially considering it was his first game and his pro was probably shit. Good cross for our equalizer. I thought we were never going to score after he saved my three efforts somehow.

Their GK in that 3-1 game was ridiculous, so much so that I'm convinced he didn't actually get a touch when I poked it home at the end, if you really watched closely. And after I scored that penalty, did he now somehow foul one of us while we were celebrating?

That makes sense, because it allows the taller guys to get forward.

That game we lost 2-1 last night maybe the most frustrating one I have played in. They had like two shots and scored them, while we had over 10 and just couldn't put the ball into the back of the net.

Plus, they only had two players. I always say there is no way we can lose to just two or three players...

BarnDoor
17-10-2011, 11:53
Yeah I missed one or two in that game which I'm sorry about. Just didn't happen. And when we're really trying to score we end up getting in each other's way, making bad decisions, etc., and it all goes to shit.

Especially disappointing since I think it's my one loss in the past 12 games I've played with clubs.

Dale C.

What i've seen is that people try and use the finesse shot too much, which leads to a lot of misses because the shot accuracy is too low.

Joel

You're not the only one, Barn. I missed a one on one which really pissed me off. If I chipped, it would have been 2-2.

I think it's probably got something to with our players having, on average, a lower overall rating than the average of the opposition players. I arrived late and just sort of threw myself into him as you were taking the free-kick...by the looks of things I knocked him just off centre, which allowed it to go into the top middle. In turn I was sent on my arse for my efforts. I will repeat the tactic - given the new collision system in this game it seems a lot more fruitful to block the keeper.

I had a few other corners after that game and they were shit, though they were outswingers as opposed to inswingers.

I tend to try and get in the keepers way at set pieces but unfortunately when I do it at corners, the ball is played in towards me which leads to the keeper picking it up easily as I'm 5' 8". If Barn were to do it though, it could come in handy.

I was loving Joel's press-up celebration after one of the goals last night. I was doing a telephone - or was it a DJ? - celebration most of the time which is a simple press of the down button I think. Just to elaborate on a couple of things I said, which caused confusion:

- I said we needed to be more patient and stop trying to force openings - some people, understandably, took this as me saying that we should dwell on the ball and take our time choosing a pass. What I meant by it was that I feel, at times, we go for non-existant openings and try to force a chance, rather than being patient, retaining possession and waiting for the opportunity to fashion an opening. I thought that was especially obvious tonight.

I then said, after the next game, that we needed to move the ball about quicker and, obviously, some people thought I was contradicting myself, which was again understandable. Basically, I just meant we should get our passes away more quickly and, if it was just a simple ball, which would do nothing but retain possession that's fine. For what it's worth, I thought, we improved a hell of a lot in those two areas in the final couple of games of the night and, unsurprisingly, we won both.

And ftr I'm just as culpable of these two things as anyone else, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be brought up, as they're things, which we, as a team, can improve on.

Now, onto Barn's post - I, of course, understand what you're saying. However, when I said the second point on the team chat screen, someone (I think it might've actually been you, Barn) said: 'Who Bam?' so I guess I thought I should tell people who I thought was culpable. I don't really see what the big deal tbh - when we initally started playing, Original? and Phat singled me out, rightly, for calling for the ball too much. I took the criticism on-board and I think I've improved a lot in that area, as a result. Tbh if a tiny little constructive criticism, like the one I gave, makes you upset, then you should just man up.

Be careful criticising individuals, especially in the dressing room, due to the limitations of the typing it can be difficult to express yourself clearly. Singling out people should be a last resort, in your example Bammers the statement was made generally at least a dozen times before we said it to you directly. You can also see how naming 3 people directly out of 6/7 might make it seem that you don't believe yourself to be a culprit. Regardless of what you mean to say, it's what the other person interprets your words as that is important.

Did we need to move the ball quicker? Yes. Should you have named people? No. However, we are all adults (I believe) and it doesn't really matter, it's a bit of a misunderstanding. Bammers, your last sentence is not constructive. Let's move on.

@Original?

I see where you're coming from, but, as I said, I was asked to name who was doing it, by someone, and it wasn't like I'd just ripped into everything about them - I'd simply asked them to move the ball about a bit quicker. It's not exactly the worst insult in the world, is it? My last sentence wasn't constructive, but it is true and, for what it's worth, the three people I mentioned upped their game after that and were excellent in the last couple of games.

And you didn't say it a dozen times - a couple, perhaps, but you said it directly to me pretty early and you were right to do so - by naming me, directly, it meant the emphasis was on me to think about what I was doing, rather than just taking the comment on board, but doing nothing about it.

I'm so glad you felt I upped my game Bammers after your constructive criticism, have you ever thought about a career in self help?

If we were all commenting on individuals and their performances post game i don't think we'd get a chance for another game as the list of peoples views and complaints could be endless. I could pick out faults in everybodys play style, but what would be constructive about targeting the newer guys, especially when the faults are to do with their SHIT VP?

This was my first batch of VP games in well over a year barring one last week, and I really don't have the time to invest in improving my VP beyond what he is, so get used to him not having the best first touch or reactions, taking time to turn or put a decent pass through, giving the ball away every now and then through a shit first pass, pulling up with injuries in the 80th minute etc but tbh, this is why I don't play Club mode regularly, it descends to cuntage

It's not the worst insult, it's not an insult it is criticism. The way it sounded in the dressing room chat was not particularly constructive. Which is why such statements are best made here where you can choose your words more carefully. The simple answer (and the correct one) was to say 'everyone'. You are also not endearing yourself here, statements like 'much improvement' and 'the three people I mentioned upped their game' sound ever so slightly patronising bordering on condescending. Remember nobody covered themselves in glory throughout last night and it's important that you come across as if you realise that, which I'm sure you do, else we get these arguments.

Finally, no I didn't say it a dozen times, I said it several times as did Phatmann an others, collectively it was said a dozen times. On that note, there's still some dodgy calling for the ball going on. I realise that not every dodgy CPU pass is the result of someone calling for the ball but it's frustrating when you see people waving their arm in the air for no good reason. This goes for everyone, remember the CPU is retarded, we got enough evidence of that from the goalkeeper last night. If you call for the ball the CPU passes straight away, it won't turn, take a touch and pass it calmly, it will spin and lob it to you instantly so you need to make sure there is definitely a simple pass on.

Anyway, I'm moving to a new apartment later so I won't be on until I get the internet sorted.

We need someone to play as any to counteract the shitness of the CPU
I did this a few times when we first started playing and it was decided that it would be better off using the CPU as any as we were finding it hard to build up attacks. On the whole the CPU any is pretty good; it's just a case of one or two silly errors here and there. I don't think there are many who would put themselves forward to play there anyway as it's a pain in the arse trying to track the oppo's lightning fast forwards with these shitty randomly created defenders.

Yes a CPU any is best.

I would concur with Original. The problem Bammers is that the criticism wasn't even fair, not least in Jonno's case, as he only played two games, and to be honest I probably saw you and myself lose the ball more in those games than he did.

If we're laying our cards on the table, I will offer some thoughts. While I don't expect us to play down the flanks every time we attack, when we do find ourselves on the wing, I would like us to cross the ball more, in good positions (not delivering it at the byline or weak foot). Too often we cut inside and end up going the 'Arsenal' route. I didn't make my guy huge for nothing. And while I don't expect to receive every ball, I do think we should at least play to our strengths in the aerial department. If we're coming through the centre than feel free to pass through the middle, shoot, etc, but I just think we overlook crossing too much. I also think you should be cowardly and turn on assisted crossing if you don't have it on.

Also, I think I'm a lot better playing as the lone striker in a 4231 formation, with plenty of support.

My opinion on ANY is taken from my experience with Fifa 10. I assume the engine/gameplay changes have made the game a lot harder to play as any then?

I try to cross when I can but for some reason my VP seems to do better with his weak foot than his left. In particular this is most apparent when you see the countless poor corners I've taken in the past. When it comes to corners I think I'll stay in a bit more of a defensive position as my player is rather nippy and could be useful if we need someone to track back and stop a counter attack.

Okay, having heard what everyone's had to say, it's clear I was in the wrong with naming people, although I didn't mean any harm, and I apologize for that. I was also, most definitely, asked to who I was referring to, by someone, and I would like that person to come forward and tell us it was them. Regardless, I apologize for doing it.

Secondly, I'm sorry if people took my 'much improved' and 'upped their game' comments as being patronizing - I can assure you that they were only meant as a sincere expression of me recognizing that my concerns had been rectified and were meant as compliments.

As for the ANY-question, my personal opinion is that it's better to have a CPU ANY, because I feel if we have a human ANY, the team's performance hinges too much on that person's own skill level, rather than the overall skill of the VPs in the team, so I prefer CPU ANY.

Also, on the crossing thing, I often get my VP to bomb forward and get into the box for crosses. Obviously, if I'm playing as DM, this can leave us a bit exposed, if the other team are able to head the cross away and counter-attack, so do people think I should keep getting in the box for crosses or should I hold back?

Jonno394
21-10-2011, 13:56
Has everyone got a preferred position btw? Seeing as I won't be playing often I just don't want to stroll on and take someones place in the formation, but at teh same time I'm not a huge fan of the defending in this game, even though I got about 4 or 5 achievements for my defence with goal line clearances et al.

My apologies to Phatman from a while back. I was playing just a few offline games with a couple mates when you messaged me about clubs. At the time, I didn't have a VP as I had just bought the game, and I completely forgot to get back to you about it.

Made a VP now though, only played the odd offline match with him, mind, so he's still shit. I'd be up for making up the numbers every so often (I don't play much PS3 lately).

What position is 'vacant' so to speak? What position should I make him, in other words? I remember from the last time that all the forward positions were generally snapped up straight away by a select few, which is fine by me (I only use my VP as a forward in offline to get achievments).

I think if we've got that many on again it's important to leave any empty spaces (CPU) in defence, because we need all the bodies we can in midfield and attack. I'm guessing the fact that they were in the US must have affected the connections, since loads of us DC'd in that game.
