I've reached the age of 34 and this is crucial for 2 reasons.
- Is this the age where I sign my last contract, like in 2011?
- My stats are just starting to drop. Can a change in my training affect it them from decreasing too rapidly?
If anyone has reached this stage and figured it out yet, or has a theory, I would love to know. Cheers :)

Try to spread training points around to cover all areas with 3 points or more.
Some of your stats will still decrease, but I found this way to at least stall the process a bit. If you're a striker type, you could ignore defense.

Does this mean I should use all my available points or not?

Well, I will answer the first part of my question myself.
I have just reached the age of 35, and having just signed a 1 year contract extension with Barcelona, I now have 4 years left on my contract. This means my in my final year I will be the grand old age of 38, one more year than PES 2011.
I kept my training points evenly spread over my attributes and my stats dropped, but not by too much - overall 109 down to 107. I'll post again at the end of the season.

Two years later, age 37 and my overall rating is still a healthy 104. Stats not dropping off anywhere near as much as last year. Nice.
