our real madrid...best of the best...

i play master league with my friend . We have been playing 9 seasons. there is player list which we hardly can make any imrovemets.

Goalkeepers: Chilavert, Toldo, Van Der Sar

Defenders: Cannavaro, Nesta, Carlos, Hierro, Hyypiä, West, Cordoba, Eddington

Midfielders: Viera, Rui Costa, Nedved, Zidane, Totti

Strikers: Ronaldo, Henry, Recoba, Shevchenko, Raul, Rivaldo

Plus ous super russians Petipa and Piliniak(trained players). Petipa is storming in midfieid giving some most awesome passes and piliniak is true scorer with great acceleration and tecnique.

Eddington is player manager of ours fast paced defender is nigtmare of every team.

I think people should only boast about their teams if they've been built on Extreme mode as any child can play on normal and hard.

So which of these teams are on extreme?

clint
12-05-2003, 13:46
That's fair enough, Zig.

The game is only at its hardest on Extreme...der.

All teams submitted for this exercise should be at that level. Simple.

I play ALWAYS on extreme!! 37 consecutive wins in master league including cup games... You don't have to belive it but it's true. :p

You just need the right players in right position and there it is!! :D

What do people mean by "extreme mode"? Is that the willingness of the CPU to transfer players? I've got it set to 3 stars, and in Div.2 it can be hard to get players. But then, good players won't want to play for crappy teams will they?

In fact, without looking I think it only goes to 4 stars on this setting. Is that right? And do you include the retired players option as well. What is that? Is that where you can get the classic players to play for you like Best and Law?

MazzaDon
10-12-2003, 04:57
Extreme mode was in PES2, they took it out of PES3 but we simply compare it 5* with auto-save (so no cheating). I wanted to put my team but I cant be bothered to take 15 odd seasons to get all the players I want. Took me 7 seasons to get all my 40 strong squad in PES2 on 3*(normal). Then when I kinda got the hang of Extreme, it took me 17 seasons. Towards the end I had to depend on winning the league just to get one player. This is because I wanted it to be on the most difficult setting where the COM can buy retired players. I dont want to go through all that again so I'm only getting a 26 squad and stick on 3* till I get my full squad as quick as possible then move onto 4* and 5*. So there's no need to think about if I have enough PES to buy this or that player and simply stick with the squad that I'll whip my mates with.

i'm in my 6th season!

after being stuck on 2 div 1 wins for about a month i've now ripped through another 2 seasons, so i have 4 pretty stars above my badge!

my first 11 at the moment is.

GK: Buffon

LB: Carlos
CB: Nesta
CB: F Cannavaro
RB: Evanilson

DMF: Makelele
DMF: Kleberson
OMF: Rivaldo
OMF: Kaka

OMF/CF (just behind striker ala Scholes): Kluivert

I was only joking. But one of the best things about PES games is that different players react differently with each other. Basically, you're adopting someone elses team choice (the Barca board) which might just suit your playing style, but statistically there are bound to be others that you could do better with.

My starting 11 (playing as Blackburn):

Hejduk - Nesta - Babayaro

my team was mostly assembled on 3*.
been struggling to score on 3* lately, 0-0 most matches, so i skipped up to 4* and won 3-0, 2-0, 3-1, 4-1. weird no????

i have no problem defending, i hardly concede goals even on 5*, but i struggle to score so its usually boring 0-0's 6 or 7 matches in a row. si i play 4* now!

My new team dosent have all tha top players like this but i think i would prefere my current one to this any time. Salary points are waaaaay too much in this one i think they was like 1600-1750 where as im doing brilliant, and my current one is like 800 :)

After compiling my u23 team, I sold or traded most of them to buy a old/current mix of super players. Love to show the full squad but it's a ML XI thread. Total Salary Pts/fixture = 1335:

------------------Yashin

- Rijkaard - Beckenbauer - Passerella -

------------------Vieira

- Best ------------------- Roberto Carlos -

-----------------------Zidane

-----------------Zico

-----------------------------Maradona

------------Pele

The thing is that I've got the Van Basten on the bench, who I'd really love to being in the starting line up but I'm a big Zico fan. Plus, I could have put him or Cryuff on the wings but there's no point if they're not always in the thick of goalmouth action.

I was wondering how everyone was managing to play it on Extreme Mode. 5* with Auto-Save's what I play on, I can't post a starting XI as it really does depend on who's fit and up for it.

I play a 3-4-3 diamond formation, which works pretty well with the WF's doing the outlet counter-attacking.

The Ones That Stand Between the Sticks and Kick the Ball Straight to the Other One That Stands Between the Sticks

Oliver Kahn - He's poor though, can't catch. I need a better 'keeper, like Toldo.

Hector Fabian Carini - When I saw his stats I was chuffed and bought him. Then he started becoming liable to mistakes. Gets the odd cup game.

The Ones Who Stand in a Straight Line Pretending to be Useful When All They're Doing is Kicking the Ball Straight to the Other Line Who are About 70 yards Away and Wearing Different Shirts from Them

Lilian Thuram - Speaks for himself, really. Part of the African French contingent that every good squad needs.

Fabio Cannavaro - Quick, good in the air. Not bad at tackling, either. Can feed the quick attackers over the top with 87 Long Pass Accuracy.

Solomolomolomon Capmbell - Probably the best of the bunch. Simply a rock. Gives away penalties, which is nice and realistic.

Celso Ayala - C'mon, you know you all bought him to partner Jorge Bermudez at the back near the beginning of your game. When his contract runs out, he goes.

The Ones Who Can Give the Round Thing to Other Ones Wearing the Same Shirt as Them

Roy Keane - Better than Vieira. In the game. Definitely. Solid as a really solid thing.

Phillip Cocu - He's got the non-yellow-but-almost-yellow attributes syndrome, which by default makes him quality. He's been one of my favourite players in PES2 and 3, plays well beyond the capabilities of his attributes. Good, and versatile.

Emerson - Has a nice hair-do, pretty skillful, gets stuck in, covers a lot of ground. Plus he ran rings around Beckham a couple of years ago when Deportivo played United. Yes, that's right, it's the crap Emerson. Not the pansy one who broke his hand pissing about in goal at the World Cup, the big tall one who loves doing spinning back-heels.

Claudio Lopez - Another one of my favourites. Play him on the left side of midfield, and he's skillful, though he may very well need to be replaced. Might just stick Nedved there instead, and put Okocha behind the front two.

Luis Figo - Not bad. Has a habit of getting sent off in the first minute of games, though. I suspect that's more my fault rather than his. His first touch is absolutely superb, whether it be to make space for himself, or to knock it into someone's path. He's also surprisingly good in the air.

Marc Overmars - Twat. Waste of space in most games, though he had an absolute corker recently. He was everywhere, he hit the post, made tackles, set up numerous chances. The game gave him a rating of 4.5.

Javier Zanetti - Another one of these stupid side-midfielders I managed to get tonnes of. He's my solid option, because he can tackle as well as go forward. Normally sets up a goal if he plays. Which he doesn't. Ever. Looks like a zebra, too.

Pavel Nedved - Now we're talking. He was my first real class signing, and he'll be in the first team come the final shake-up. All-round, there aren't many better than him on the game, and he blatantly deserved to win World Footballer of the Year. Just because he's Czech, they thought "No, we'll give it to Zidane, because he's Algerian, or French, or something, apparently." Scores, sets up goals, and occasionally tackles. Never dribbles. Doesn't need to.

Jay-Jay Okocha - 99. Dribble Accuracy. End of. Story. And yes, I know Ortega has it too. But I had him. And he was poor. Jay-Jay's been scoring a lot recently, getting on the end of through balls and such. Indirectly, he's keeping Claudio Lopez out of the team. Another one who seems to get his £2.50 shape-up from Hackney Market.

The Ones Who Hit It Into the Arms of the Other One Between the Sticks, So that He Can Hit It Into the Arms of Their Own One Between the Sticks

Hernan Jorge Crespo - Main target man. Good at headers. Only plays when he wants to. Has a stupid curly hair-cut, and looks like a three-toed sloth. Sometimes decides he'd rather sit down than score.

Thierry Henry - Everything. He is. And does. Everything. Counter-attack maestro. Basically, give him the ball. Hold down control pad direction. Watch in amazement as he scores.

Oliver Neuville - I've got a Swiss player in my team. And it's a good team. None of you can beat that. And yes, I know he plays for Germany. He was born in Switzerland though. He's getting into the scoring habit at last, and also creates a fair few goals. Likes doing Zidane-style pirrhouettes around Galatasaray defenders and then slotting it past their 'keeper. Well, once.

Adriano - Tall, powerful runner who I had to make slightly worse because he was too good. Gets the odd game.

Klose - Has a habit of nut-megging 'keepers with penalties. Very good in the air. Utter shite on the ground.

Sorry about the length. But I thought I'd give you a run-down of how it really feels to have a zebra named Javier in your team.

I loved it :D

Glad to know I'm appreciated. Just tried adding some spice to the thread, because I know everyone else will just post players with no discussion to be had.

Just finished the season, done the treble (League, Cup, PES-equivalent-of-Champions-League). Bought some more donkeys and got rid of some more mules to continue carrying the proverbial sack-of-shit that is my Parma team.

I got rid of that big oversized panda, Celso Ayala - in a swap deal for Jeremies, who has become my new sweeper. Well, he's become my first sweeper. So far I've got no complaints, except for the fact that the commentator keeps mistaking him for some Jesus-sounding-bloke. Stupid computer-based-commentary systems and their limited ways.

Got rid of the pair of muppets who were sitting on the bench being fed raw meat and then being let loose for 10 minutes at a time. In other words, Oliseh (the official I Can Kick a Ball at Pace bloke) and The Shit Emerson From Atletico Madrid. Yes, in case you didn't believe me before, I bought him. He only lasted a single season. Now that's shit.

The Zebra was also swiftly sold to Spartak Moscow. I had to lie and tell him that Moscow was in Zimbabwe, but it worked. I'm sure he'll enjoy the climate.

I decided to keep the German Pole Klose, because he's Polish-ish.

I also pur-chased (read: purr - like a cat - chased - like the dog running after the cat) Henrik Larsson. Then I realised I'd been conned, and that he's not a prolific goalscoring machine, but a really small midget (as opposed to a really big midget). He's no good in the air, and doesn't like the ball. Apparently it's racist because there's no mixed-race patches on it - only white majority and the odd black star.

I also brought Philippe Mexes back. I had him near the start with his crap stats, I sold him, then I updated his stats, and bought him again for a lot more money. The joke's on them though, because he's not any good. Aha. Ha. Ha. *cough*

Also, I managed to pick up a certain balding Algerian bloke on a free transfer. His name's Zerlag, or something. He's the be-all and end-all of stupid hair-cuts. He's also the end of the alphabet, personified in a footballer. Since buying him, I've been constantly trying to pull of the 360-spin move, because that's all he ever does in real life. You know you all did it. After that Scotland game. Where he done two of them in a row.

Juan Sebastian Veron - ponce. Big. Tall. But a ponce. Basically, he's a Llada. Everyone else is a Ferrari. Now, make no mistake about it, a Llada is a shit car. It might have a beautiful coat of paint, or a really smooth-looking wheel-set, but, at the end of the day, it's still a Llada. The Ferrari might only have 3 wheels, and the Llada might look fancy, but you'll never hear of the Llada driver trying to race the Ferrari.

That's the best analogy of Veron I could possibly hope to give. I hope you all share my pain. Bringing millionaire superstars down to cheapness is fun.

I hope you enjoyed it!

I liked your team, Kluiverte! Much more interesting to develop a world beating team from less well known players rather than the usual suspects. I'm going to restart ML 5* and just use youth players, although if that proves too difficult I might allow myself to use non-affiliated players (though not classics). And also set transfer frequency to low, so the opposition teams remain as true to life as possible - it was disconcerting to face Newcastle with Owen partnering Shearer up front!

For what it's worth my current line-up is:

GK: Van der Sar - not as good as you'd expect, strong in the air but sometimes stands flat footed to let in shots that I'd have saved!
CBT - Samuel and Bermutez. Stanley (youth) or Thuram in reserve
SB - De la Cruz on the right, Eliot (youth) on the left. Both very good at getting forward but not that strong defensively. Thuram replaces one of them if it's a tough game
DMF - Dunn and Acuna, with Almeyda in reserve
OMF - Pepita (youth) and Totti. Pepita's stats are all above 90, probably the best player in the game. Fortune replaces Totti when I want to get a bit of width and crosses from the left
CF - Beschatnyk and Larsson. Totti, Kapo, Dunn and Ibsen (youth) can also do a good job. Bestchatnyk has been superb but Larsson a bit disappointing given his wonderful stats

I'm going to have one more go at winning the treble. Won the WEFA Championship last season but finished second in the league (Celtic won about 100 games in a row) and lost on penalties to Liverpool in the cup final. 50k in the bank - any suggestions for strengthening my team? Might buy Henry or Owen to replace Larsson

Are you surprised? You're out-numbering the opposition 17 to 11 on the pitch.

Oh, I apologise Francesco de la Greatness. How could I ever have doubted your undoubted undoubtability?

So, you're a Dutch bloke, or an Italian bloke living in a Dutch part of the world, who loves Totti, thinks he's a Bambino, and has never lost a match in Pro Evolution Soccer?

I bet that next time you open a window to get some fresh air a pig'll come flying through it.

Please note that I was not being particularly aggressive. I was being light-hearted, I have no need to pour my heart 'n' soul into arguing with you about something that I am not interested enough in to argue about.

If I touched a nerve, I'm sorry - I was joking. I simply hid it well. If you indeed have never been beaten at PES3 before, then congratulations - it is indeed a very good record to hold. Unless of course you've only played one game, or something...

My first master league team was full of world class players (take your pick, i cant remember exactly).
But i decided to start again on 5* and stick with the default team throughout. Obviously i cant list the team as it completely depends on form, but i won division one at the first attempt :D

All these mega star teams dont impress me much, its not really the point of the game. I'm more content finding players that are average, i mean, its not a problem winning with the stars, it can be with barota and valeny.

that's an amazing achievement! What formation, tactics did you use? Like some of the others on this thread I've got bored with using the world class players in ML; I'm just restarting now using only youth players. But just using the default players on 5* must be incredibly difficult!

I've justed to get into the ML lark because I've been concentrating my play on the standard league mode - so much so that i've already unlocked everything in the shop and done all my editing in the game without even touching ML.

Honestly, i'm finding it tough on 3 stars.
I'm 14 games into the first season and already have been knocked out of the cup by Fulham (i wish that was joke!). :( Ive only lost 1 league game apart from that and i'm drawing all the rest. My best win was a cruise against Auxerre (who were top of my league at the time), winning 3-0. I guess to anyone reading i sound like a shockingly bad player only on 3 stars and struggling - but i dominate my games, it's just i have trouble putting the ball in the net!

I have Barota and Castolo up front (some of you may have heard of them yes)? Even though they're plainly crap, i value them quite highly as they are all i have to work with at the mo! The most annoying thing about this team of nobodies is that their play is so slow and sluggish compared to real in-game players that those magnificient through-balls of mine must be queued half-hour in advance if it's ever going to reach Barota :p And don't even get me started on the lack of balance from these boys - they're always falling over! they don't seem to be fans of the R2 button school of tricks!

Barota is like my cheap-as-chips Vieri, while Castolo is the clean up man, knocking in the rebounds. Sometimes it ain't pretty, but when the magic does happen, it's a dream!!

I just made some crazy trades going into my third season.

I ended up getting Roy Keane, but then my DMF's were already stacked and I didn't really need him, so I traded him...for Henry :D!

Also had Arce but managed to get a trade for Beckham that worked :D

Also ended up with Sol Campbell and Samuel and Vieira :D

I should do pretty well this coming season ;)

Might try and bump up the bench some, but my midfielders are so versatile that the ones I can have can play some Forward and De

In my 4th season and i've made it to division 1! I'm so happy. In my 3rd season everything went my way, and i was almost unstoppable in D2 cups and the D2 league. promotion was easy enough and i got bonus points for my striker (Klinsmann!) coming top with 6 goals, along with being the leader in assists (Dunn!)

My D2 team was as follows:
----Rustu----
LeeYoung Pyo --Hielbinger-- Tony Adams! -Syyoung-gug
----Kaka - Ahn-hung - Emre - Dunn----
--Klinsmann!---Saha

But with all those lovely points i was able to upgrade for my first run in D1 trade Klinsmann for Nedved to get:

My D1 team was as follows:
----Rustu----
Hakan Unsal--Hielbinger-- Tony Adams! -Syyoung-gug
----Kaka - Nedved - Emre - Dunn----
--Ilhan Mansiz--- Di Viao

After playing some pre-season D1 games with Man U, Juve, and AC Milan, i drew comfortably and managed a win against Juve. So i hope for good progress in my 4th season - and first D1 season.

Note: I made both Kaka and Adams in my game. Adams is so lifelike that he even comes up for corners to try and get his header on! And Kaka has come up great on wing scoring some blinders. I'm finally happy with my team progression.
