Firstly Happy New Year everyone !
I would like to give some points for what I would like in PES 2013,That is if they are going to release a new game!
I sometimes think that players have to much aggression or Attack Mindedness,The ball seems to go behind the pass reciever and the balance of play,I think this needs to be tweaked.
I also think that the animations in the cut scenes need improving.I do think that the playersl look real, but only as stills, they need to add more life into the players faces and expressions,I don't want them like Fifa but just better than they are at the moment.
I also enjoy International Cup mode,so I would like an option to watch the computer teams games if I want.
That is all that I can think of for now, thanks
It'll have a new engine anyway

Konami just announced that the pes series has been discontinued .
Such sad news.
Atleast we have all the great memories.

The ability to aim your shots! Manually shooting, Like real football
Shooting in real life isn't very consistent. If it was, then everyone would score everytime they shoot. Some players even hit penalties off target

oh yeah, then why is that blog dead ;) --- just harrasin ya.
From Adam at WENB
''Guys, I'm going to be teasing bstard, but you'll be without me most of next week as I'm demoing our biggest Ubisoft titles at press and retail events until around Thursday. So I'll be off from this post until then.
So anyway, PES 2013 is shaping up really REALLY nicely. I'll be honest, I have this reserved approach to it all, because its very different to what it was supposed to be. I need to snap out of it, because I'm unintentionally underselling it, and perhaps making your expectations lower naturally.
Now some of you might welcome this approach, but overall it's kind of like refereeing against a player who jumps around a lot who goes down under a clear challenge for a penalty. Predetermined judgement can impact your quality of officiating. Hopefully you get what I'm trying to say.
So anyway, PES 2013 answers so much of what we wanted, plus that little bit extra. Keepers :) Shooting :) Passing :). Adjustments to a magnitude of different gameplay elements has created a fantastic experience, so much so I'm finding it hard not to start expecting a high quality football game. Think realistic player control, new attributes created to factor in defensive ability and ball control.
Hell even the animations. Now I'm not talking about FIFA levels of overall movement and presentation, but I am talking another bump up in quality from PES 2012. Think a silly variety of individuality in this respect, too.
And, along with this, some massive breakthroughs in correcting various issues within game modes that have hindered the potential. Yes, very cryptic, but right now I have to be.
With me being away, the podcast is up in the air for next week. Suff and Alan could potentially do something, but I'm thinking a week out, and then lets hit big the week after with hints and much more.
So have a good week, and we'll get talking as soon as I'm back.
Speak soon.''

Can't wait to play PES 2013. Not expecting insane amounts of improvements, but will assume the game will progress once again - like it has every year since the dark days of PES 2008.
We're not that far away now.
As long as it improves more than PES 2012 did from PES 2011, I'll be happy. Not expecting an overhaul of animations, but is the rumours about this new engine true OnlyProEvo. I'm assuming you wouldn't be able to give a proper answer as the news of PES 2013 is thin on the ground. Hoping for some news in a weeks time

The new engine was the plan, but konami changed plans and wait the the engine for next gen.
Can anyone confirm this?
I hope they didn't change plans as I don't want to play on an outdated engine

Yeah but pes 2012 you simply can't aim your shots. It's awful. I'm not saying make every shot go in! FIFA shooting is perfect! Nobody can be happy with shooting in PES can they? It's laughable.
FIFA's shooting isn't perfect, but it is better than the shooting in PES

19-03-2012, 22:38
Do you think the next Call of Duty will take away the ability to aim your gun??? NO because they are not stupid!
Placing your shots is very bad on PES, even for world class strikers like Van Persie. If I try finishing it on the right, it shouldn't be placed on the left.
But the Call of Duty is just too extreme for an example
beeoasis
19-03-2012, 22:45
Yeah bit extreme but is so frustrating. It's either play Fifa where you have full control over your player and what you do with him, but terrible AI or Pes where you can't shoot the ball where you want. Really pissed off.
In PES2011 we had the issue with fast players perenially being caught by near corpses. We had players like Arshavin who with feints could dominate a game. There was the reaction to through balls as well or lack of it that was ridiculously annoying oh and the player select glitch.
In PES2012 we have the issue of dribbling being too razor sharp and fast players being exactly that, too fast. The reaction to through balls is still present (defenders oft misjudging through balls, especially flighted ones instead of jumping to head the ball, when the it would be easier to jump than to avoid it completely).
If they can find a happy medium, I'm hopeful. If I find on the first game that players can twist and turn like Michael Jackson, the game is going back for a refund.

Game breaker for me with pes this year is the shooting . The goals feel hollow.
They should of built on pes 2011. 2012 they've ruined online because of this fully automated passing combined with removing a lot of user input making it more friendly to shit players. 2011 had it's flaws online but you could eradicate most of them by getting good at the game. Also, the gulf between good and average (footballers) players is a joke.
PES 2011's shooting was way way too easy. It was so overpowered it was unbelievable. If they toned down the power on PES 2011's shooting and made it a bit harder to aim for corners then it'd be realistic. Or just change it to Demo 2's shooting
beeoasis
19-03-2012, 23:13
Manually shooting???? How hard would it be to put it in? BASIC
Too much people would abuse the manual shooting online.
I'd say semi-assisted like in FIFA

If we're talking lower tier players like your Craig Beattie's and Rob Hulse's, fair do's but if you want to apply that to decent players it doesn't work. If anything the worst thing about PES2011 was the ease of scoring using cut backs, they were a bastard to stop. Although that said, the players reactions were appalling on PES2011, that was one thing that drove me barmy. Players near the ball refusing to intercept or getting locked into animation which left them prone. That was bloody annoying.
I remember that whenever I was leading with a big margin, I used to shoot from the centre circle just for fun and it always went on target. Players had way too much power, especially for players like Torres which I specifically remember scoring with just after kick-off. Go on to youtube and type something like best goals pes 2011 and you wouldn't believe your eyes.
Btw, I agree with your point about the low responsiveness of PES 2011 with through balls never being intercepted and defenders not clearing the ball

Semi in FIFa is perfect. It takes into account where your aimming the stick and the player finishing ability. BEAUTIFUL

It is prevalent on PES2012 as well. My friend and I were playing a ML together as Fulham (two players on one team) and we watched a goal back we conceded. Inexplicably with the ball in the air coming towards Hangeland and him stood still, he doesn't jump or lean to head the ball. His runs stutters and moves slightly away the from the ball leaving the computer to score. It's not the first time I've seen it happen either. It's just maddening. You can understand on occasions why people feel the game is so scripted when AI controlled players behave this way.

now through balls are intercepted by lightning fast reactions by the CPU defense in 2012. Not worth chasing after a loose ball because the CPU will always get there before, you even pass by you and in the process move like he was drafting off of you.
Don't try to step in front of a CPU through ball because it will ricochet off of you with double speed directly to another CPU player who is moving towards your goal in stride.
Forget about defensive clears or heading from your own goal kicks because they will also mysteriously connect to a CPU player.
And be warned, if a CPU clears or goal kicks it will have pinpoint accuracy to a MF or CF smiling on his way to your box.
@Sminky
It happens a lot to everyone else to but my notion for this is because of the scripting. I don't know about the responsiveness taking part in this because KONAMI did make players less responsive in the last patch as everyone complained that players moving felt like they were skating on ice. It's probably the scripting as thats tooken over the gameplay of PES, even in multiplayer or online matches

I am thinking of buying FIFA just because of the scripting. Please tell me FIFA doesn't script like I wrote above.

The CPU connect to your passes not only because of scripting but because of the lack of freedom of the scriptedness in passing. Remember in PES 2011 when you could curl a pass around the defender to your players feet. Try doing it in this year's edition and it goes straight to the defender or to the goalkeeper, not where you aimed it. The computer decides the possible outputs of the pass so you can' place it exactly where you want, even in 0 pass assistance

and I notice variations in passing ability that seems to alter when I am trying to tie a game or go ahead by a goal. Suddenly it get more difficult. You stated it best - the computer decides the possible outputs.

Yep, when you are trying to score, the three pass rule comes in. Its when you cant string three first touch passes together. Or when you pass it to a player and the ball rolls ahead of him. Or when you tap the pass button and he smashes it to another player. Passing is very inconsistent in the game and is buggy and frustrating.
And for the FIFA 12 scripting, have a quick look in the PES 2012 VS FIFA 12 thread and Amateur would have already explained it in enough detail
It makes me wonder whether Konami pay attention to independent patches like those of Jenkey's, they surely must realise that the reason they get made is because their programming is lazy when it comes to creating challenging AI.
Talking of KONAMI, have you heard the news about a different version of PES 2012 coming ot at the end of this month? Apparently it's going to have a better AI, graphics, shooting, passing etc. It was probably too much for a patch so they probably just made it as a new game.

Very interesting.
Just shows what a shambles this game is for them to take such action.
I'm not buying it though unless I try it for myself first.

At least for the first time this gen, they are actually polishing and fixing the current game for the next game. Currently it feels like we are playing betas after betas
Alright, since konami has a knack of destroying the demo code for the final game, lets just say "konami, dont listen to us, keep the demo code for the final game".

I know it a big disapiontment. But when you think of it. It is a smart move,we dont want another next gen f.. Up like when we went from ps2 to ps3. And they can still fix a lot in this engine. But we dont see a big shocking overheal for pes2013. And back in the day pes5 and 6 also used the then old engine.
But as it seems now konami compleetly redone the keeper, passing and shooting. And there was something with animations cant remember tho was a while ago. But soon the annauncement will start.
I think we can get a pretty need pes2013. If konami just impove stuff for pes2012 and not compleetly messes stuff up again. Built from what you have. But we dont know till a day in october. Cause good demos doesmt mean sht wiht konami lol

This maybe be good news for many who are hoping this new release of PES2012 will soothe the wounds from the horrific game they release ..well just months ago.
However, based on Konami/Seabass record....I don't see how anyone would believe that they have created a better game in a shorter time frame than what the had between Pes11 and Pes12.
What this is basically ...i believe, is a push to recover money from the poor sales or PES12. The game will be the same.
Please read the article again if you have to. It did not state that there will be any fixes or new updates ...just all the dlc's will be included.
It will be the same game ...just reduced. Packaged with all the new dlc.
Other games have done this as well.
Aye, I read the article and I could not see any mention of AI improvements or changes in code relating to game play. Disappointing really. Had they made some changes to the game I probably would have re-bought it but as it is it's still as bad as FIFA in my eyes.
Wish list for PES2013...
- Remove the stupid cut scenes in Master League except when you sign a new player. It does my head in constantly having to say the same thing over and over again.
- Bring back the news ticker. It was on PES11 at top of screen and would give you snippets of news from around the World.
- I want latest scores to flash up during games. FIFA 11 had this, it was excellent. Only other game I remember implementing this was Actua Soccer back in the day. Would add so much to the game, especially during relegation/title deciders.
- Sort out the set-up of teams. I had to adjust all the sliders as I found games were just ending 1-0 or 0-0 cos' the computer would just sit 11 men behind the ball.
- Scrap the through ball. It's pathetic how many times it just bypasses about 6 players and sets someone through on goal to score. If not scrap it, tone it down to be less effective.
- A better presentation for the Transfer Market news. All you get is a stupid tiny badge and half the time I have no idea where the player has moved. It would be nice just to have a basic list under headings like - Player - From - To - Fee
- Info. Why can I no longer view results from other Leagues? I used to check to see who my next European opponents were playing and their result. Can't do that anymore (well, I can't find a way)
- Form. The form arrows are a waste of time. For an example, I had a striker who scored a hat-trick, on a red arrow. Next game comes around, his arrow is purple and down and I have no choice but to drop him. Stupid. The only time the players arrows seem to tally up with anything is if you don't play them and they just get a constant downer. It just feels like it's random generated, which could be another bit of scripting
- Realism. I'm not talking results but one big blooper Konami let slip through. Here is what happened. Baled, my CB, is injured for 26 weeks. In that time, I can't pick him to play cos' he's injured. BUT... Guinea manage to call him up and he gains 7 International caps. Maybe they thought no-one would notice but I did and it's another stupid glitch.
There are other things and I must say, I've gone back to PES11 because PES12 was, to quote the Happy Mondays - twisting my melon man. I think it's the scripting, teams like Wigan turning up and scoring 4 in 20 minutes while playing like Brazil.
I've not played much PES11, I'm currently editing a load of stuff into an old Daymos file to bring it smack up to date. I even got FIFA 11 for 99p, but after an hour I wanted to smash it up cos' it was turgid crap.
Here is hoping PES13 will be an improvement and feel less like it's been made for a 12 year old child instead of proper Football enthusiasts.
In the meantime, I'm off to finish Dinamo Tbilisi on PES11...
Remove overall rating and bring back pre-set formations which was in PES 5 (PS2)!!
Removing the overall rating would make the layout different - no game plan where you can pick and plan

Weight and movement of players needs to be addressed for me. Acceleration stat has to be re-introduced. Variety in team layout (eg offside trap, deep laying defence). Variety in individuality, technical players need to be pass masters, difficult to dispossess etc instead of just speed and strength being the be all and end all. CPU possession near enough 50/50 with the human player (unless team strategy is strictly counter attack for example). Dribbling needs to be harder with non dribbling players. Graphic aesthetics, real life grass textures and make night games more vibrant. Real time weather and changes. Stats for defenders re-introduced - a gameplay balance between defence v attack.

Sup Sminky,
For me, the bad part about Fifa is the Impact Engine. It just doesn't work as it should. I am still having trouble with the new defending system also but I must say it it much more realistic to real football.
None of the games will represent football in a true to life realistic way. I think that would be very hard to do. However, I like the steps that EA and Fifa are taking to make the game advance in a positive way instead of changing menus and color schemes every year to fool people.
In terms of PES 2013 ....same sheeit,,different year.
ive some ideas for pes 13 (if continued series)
1. MORE tricks for god saces!
2. Licensed or unlicecensed bundesliga
3: 2nd league under all leagues (licensed or un i dont care)
4: New commentators! ive gone tired of listening to this jon champion all the time
thats all i can think of...
Jeronimoe

For me better a 360 control of your player, smoother animation transitioning(especially for tricks), various types of dribble, like precision dribble, skill dribble and tactical dribble. Build on the shooting from 1.01 and not the final DLC. New commentary, more leagues and teams as Thori mentioned. Also a better control scheme for tricks and the game overall. A more varied amount of collision animations. As well as we need a shielding system that we can initiate and its not done by the CPU, this would obviously be combined with some dribble mechanics.
In terms of the game modes what would ye guys like to see done? I think they could expand a whole lot more when it comes to ml and bal while getting rid of club boss that is a stupid mode to come up with in my opinion! In ml the training, transfer market, contract negotiations, scouting needs to be overhauled to be more realistic ala fifa or football manager! The cutscenes should go but have a sub menu in the my team menu where you can interact with your staff about upcoming games,on how well or not a player is recovering from injury or even with chairman to release more cash for transfers/wages etc. Also player communications needs to be reworked! Why isnt there an option to tell a player beforehand that your resting him that would cut out every tom dick and harry complaining or better still introduce squad statuses for each member to know his role!
In bal you could get a boot deal obviously the better you become the better the deal or even have newspaper/radio interviews/photoshoots to increase your profile! Also whats the point in earning money in it if all you can buy is an agent so may have unlockables in the mode you spend your wages on! I think training is something that you could do with your player since the re-introduced it this year where you are able to do the drills to improve your player depending on how well the drills are completed!
As i said at the top get rid of club boss and maybe in its play have a classic matches mode where ttou play certain games from history and try and complete the tasks that are set out for you. between all the leagues the european and south american tournaments and the international tournaments there would be a lot of games throughout time to try and complete!
I dont ask for much do i lol but what ye guys think?
