Some details/screenshots have been released.
I have a feeling the cover will be Rooney/Messi/RVP (somewhat akin to this)

Soccer fans, get ready as we have some brand new information about the new version of your beloved Fifa series. David Rutter, the main producer of Fifa 13, told to everyone that was present at a recent London showcase that FIFA 13 will have 5 major improvements. These 5 improvements are First Touch Control, Player Impact, Complete Dribble, Tactical Free-Kicks and Attacking AI.
One of the first things to do at FIFA 13 was to implement a more realistic ball control. Now it will be more difficult to control a receiving ball with your player. It all depends on the strength, the speed, the ball height and the technical skills of your player to achieve the control of the ball and run with it.
Another feature that got improved is the player impact engine. According to David Rutter, there will be no more unrealistic animations in the players challenges and we can hopefully kiss goodbye to all those awful physics bugs that flooded YouTube. The engine has been optimized and new a set of impact values have been added at the hip and the upper body area.
In FIFA 12 you could dribble just by changing direction. In FIFA 13 this won’t be possible anymore. Moreover, the free-kicks got a new system. Up to three players can now gather around the ball. Players can feint a direct shot and adjust it to a player who comes off the wall. Also, the defense set pieces have been improved.
Last but not least, the offensive Artificial Intelligence got a huge improvement. The CPU-controlled players got better running routes and better guessing options of where you pass the ball. Also the strikers are smarter and move with the offside line of your defenders, waiting to receive the ball and run with it towards your goal post.

I Have Fifa on the Vita and it's great to see the amount of cunts who quit on this version is more or less the same as its home console brothers.
What I want for Fifa 13 is to be able to transfer/develop my Virtual Pro in both version, it would add a reason to invest in both, other than playing online while lying down in my bed (my PS3 is downstairs) or sitting on the toilet!
I think they should keep the VP files server side to stop people hacking them and being 90ovr in the first day. This would link in with Jonno's idea of linking all versions of the game to one account and allowing to download VP across all versions of the game you have.

Yeah, but if everything is server side, what happens when the server is down, or when you dion't have an online connection, you can't develop your VP??

They should store a server side copy of your VP, each time an achievement is made in game it should generate some form of identification that is authenticated and re-generated each time you connect to the servers. If EA want to tackle hacking VPs they could make it so time consuming/difficult that it becomes pointless.

That's shit, obv not final artwork as it states, but the "messi" should be central along with teh EA logo and Fifa title.
Seems to be an in-game Messi too. Although I'm sure Rooney's mug will be back on it come September.

EA madden has a fan voting contest that gets a lot of media time devoted to it; an entire TV show for the result, etc. I am surprised FIFA hasn't seen this as a marketing tool.
seems like football game developers cannot break away from the messi/ronaldo/rooney combo. We get Landon Donovan with Rooney on FIFA Soccer12 (I hate they dumb down the title for us). Dempsey should be on but since not an MLS star they won't use him (Hope Solo?)

Donovan is well received across these shores, tbh. But yeah, Dempsey is the American BOSS right now.

If you get caught calling someone a black cunt you get called up too the national team and a certain black player misses out on a call up because of your racist actions.

I usually can't stand that bloke, but I had to smile at the defending comments. That is the most frustrating thing about FIFA 12, especially when the CPU tries to stop your defenders from moving.....even if the cursor is on your player!

extra funny because since I read about first touch it I have feared the worst. It seems I already lose every time the CPU defender challenges me and the ball bounces back and forth between us a few times; I never come out on top. Wait until ball our bouncing off my chest and floating 6 yards to the nearest defender.

Disliked Ultimate Team profusely when I tried it, so I'll stick with the Amazon pre-order.

Game - Adidas all star team; Messi Benzema etc etc Special kits that can be used in clubs apparently.
I'm not too fussed about these so will probably go with Shopto as they are the most reliable when it comes to pre-orders.

On Amazon it has a bit more info. Here's what it says:

Looks to me like the same product of FIFA 12. Honestly I don't get excited anymore with the new 'features' it keeps on advertising. Features like attacking intelligence, controlled dribbling, advanced this, advanced that. Hell you could jumble all the words together and it would look as if they came up with something new. But, due to FIFA 12 almost rotting away of course I am going to get a copy only because I can't go a few months without a football game.
I'll have to see what PES can offer this year as they seem rather surprising this time around. But if it's more of the same shit, I'll take FIFA's shit please.

We were asked to find out about lots of different things before we went to EAC but the one part of FIFA 13 you all wanted to know about most was Career Mode. That’s why we’re incredibly pleased to bring you this rundown of the modes new features which address many community requests of old and, introduce some truly staggering new technical innovations.
International Management
As your reputation as a manager grows in Career Mode you will now be offered the chance to manage International teams in addition to the club side you are already playing with.
Your performance and manager reputation in Career Mode dictates the quality of the international offers you will receive.
Your nationality and the league you manage in will also effect the type of International offers you receive.
Rumours about interested nations will circulate in the press for some months before you actually receive a firm offer.
Squad selection will be a key part of your International management duties and deadlines for selections (one week prior to friendlies, one month prior to tournaments) have to be met.
International competitions will run in parallel with the club game meaning you could land a job in the middle of a qualifying campaign.
International management has it’s own Career Mode “Hub” keeping your club and country separate.
In Match Live Score Updates
Whilst playing your Career Mode matches you’ll now receive audio updates from other games being played in your league voiced by Alan Mcinally and Geoff Shreeves.
The live updates cover goal, red card and penalty incidents.
Example – Shreeves: “Goal at Anfield, Fulham’s Clint Dempsey scores a brilliant freekick to make it 2-1, 73 minutes played” Tyler “Thanks Geoff”
You can select/de-select the matches you want to hear audio updates from prior to playing starting your match.
Player Stories
Interaction with players is now more regular with instant feedback received based on managerial decisions.
Player Stories can now run for months in to Career Mode re-emerging if you go through a bad run of results or when you sell/buy a key player.
Specific Player Stories also occur when managing an International team, meaning you’ll need to keep both club and country happy.
Fan stories will now make top news in the press based on team performance.
Be A Player
Once you’ve chosen your player (VP or real) you receive a set of Season Objectives to complete from the manager. The type of player you choose (forward, midfielder, defender, etc) will shape these objectives.
As well as Season Objectives you’ll also be asked to achieve objectives every four matches. This could include, goals, clean sheets, pass/tackle completion percentages, etc. The quality of opposition over these four games will decide the values you are asked to achieve.
If you are unhappy you now have the option to request a transfer, or request a loan to gain more match experience.
If you choose to play for a top club with a low rated VP you will not be a first team starter to begin with, you’ll be loaned to gain experience first.
If fatigued or playing poorly the manager can now substitute your player.
Once your playing days are over can can opt to retire and take up management.
Classified Results
After each Career Mode match you now receive a rundown of the classified results through in-game audio (think BBC Final Score)
League table updates are also fed back to you as well as any upcoming fixtures. These audio sequences happen less regularly than the classified results.
When this audio is running you can still browse all Career Mode menus and continue to the next game week.
Managers Office
You can now view any available managerial positions via the Jobs Board, this allows you to change clubs mid season should you wish to.
Your manager now appears on the touchline in matches based on customisation options chosen at the start of Career Mode.
Transfer Negotiations
The transfer system has been completely re-written for Career Mode in FIFA 13.
You can now offer player plus cash and player trade deals to the CPU.
When offering to loan players you can now set a future purchase price to sign the player permanently at the end of the loan period.
When the CPU makes an offer for one of your players you can now choose to “Counter Offer” to ask for more money. The CPU will then choose to accept, reject or make a counter offer of their own.
Contract negotiations now contain advice from your Chief Executive which act as a guide to what they think the club and player may want.
When offering contracts you can now choose a role for the player you’re trying to sign eg Crucial Player, Important Player, Future Star. This expectation will effect whether a player chooses to join your club.
Prior to making a firm offer you can now make an Enquiry to find out whether a player is available and how much the club want for them.
You can now make offers for players directly from media stories by pressing the left stick.
A new Financial Strictness setting will limit the percentage of players sales that go back in to your transfer budget (chosen at the start of CM).
Breaking News
A new “Sky Sports” style overlay will now deliver breaking and top news to the Career Mode hub.
Edit Players
You now have the ability to edit player appearance during your Career Mode seasons. This option can be unlocked via the new EASFC Catalogue.
User Interface
You can now read news articles from the media pane whilst the game is advancing.
The first time you enter Career Mode menus a tutorial overlay appears to guide you through each panes function.
Right at the death last night we were asked to withhold one more big piece of Career Mode news which we’ll try to bring you as soon as we can (sorry) but it does mean you have more to look forward to. Tom’s full Career Mode Impressions article will follow shortly (with screens) but for now hit the comments to let us know your thoughts on the new features. Pleased?

Personally , ML became very very stale the last couple of years in PES...and FIFA 12's career mode was probably the most fun I've had in a football game in years. By the sounds of these additions on FIFA 13, man I can't wait to dive into FIFA 13's career mode.

That all sounds good. Counter Offers is something they should've implemented a long time ago. I also if they'll reduce the number of teams that are bought out by billionaires. This became ridiculous in FIFA12.
I don't really enjoy Fifa's career mode I find it very stale so I'm hoping this sorts that out. I've never gone passed 1.5 seasons on Fifa and even that was on Fifa 09. 10, 11 and 12 I've never got to January lol.

never mind the interface; wish transfers did not go so hog wild in one season. Playing a career mode in SerieA and it became chock full of the best Bundesliga players.
But I stopped in to complain about an item that actually made me leave PES and noticing in FIFA12 that I hope, but doubt, will be fixed. Namely, the CPU defender clearing just to get it out of the box and it becomes a perfect pass to the midfielder almost every time. The only difference between FIFA and PES in this situation is that typically in PES it hits a player in stride and in FIFA the player usually has to wait for it and then turn.
Sure wish I could deliver goalkicks with the passing precision 60 feet out that the CPU does, and I think the score of blocked shots must be CPU = 1,127 to Me= 4
Iron I played with the cpu settings to make them less accurate, it's in the section with all the sliders if that makes sense. I Could do with changing it back a bit as even on legendary the games has become alot easier because they can't keep the ball.
With Swansea in CM I beat city 3-2 away from home because I kept hold of the ball and not let them have it. The two occasions I made mistakes they countered and scored though! Top of the league though.. Unbeaten in three in the Premier league. Blackburn just smashed me 2-0 in the cup. I just cant tackle that fat cunt Yakubu.

didn't realize 13 either. I have turned down the pass completion rate to try to deal with it. but haven't turned it down far enough probably. turned down shooting accuaracy for CPU and watch a lot of Torres type misses that saves my ass from being down 4-0 by the half.
at leas in Fifa we do have the easy right stick defender choice to select a player quickly near the CPU MF who is going to receive the easy ball. impossible to deal with in PES because the right analog defender select doesn't work right.

A welcome addition. I miss this from the older (better) versions of PES.
The changes to Career Mode sound great BUT I find it hard to believe they'll improve it to the degree suggested. This is EA we're talking about.

I know it is not my imagination anymore; have you ever noticed that when you win a tackle contest for a ball and it deflects very hard it will predominantly travel to the CPU player. It drives me crazy. Kept stats on it the last two nights; >90% of long deflected challenges go to the cpu or in space where only a cpu player is nearby. This needs fixed for FIFA13. Receiving the ball off your chest from a goalkick usually results in a long deflection, again directly to the CPU. These results were the main factors that me leave PES; don't want it here as well. Also, as mentioned the other day: the long perfect defensive clears need to stop travelling beautifully to a MF. Ever notice the ball heading out of bounds but seems to arc perfectly to sit like a tiger woods chip shot on the pitch so the cpu can run by and scoop it up. pissing me off.

Finally some changes to pro clubs. Pro clubs is pretty much the only reason why I play FIFA.
Looks like no more hacked pros. This was the apparent reason why there was no changes to FIFA 12 clubs. That, and fixing the lag. Yet the game got hacked much quicker than FIFA 11. EA couldn't get away with using this excuse again to not update clubs. Everyone has been calling for pros to be stored on the EA servers so it's long overdue but hopefully ends questioning everyone.
No more assisted goalkeepers. Goalkeepers have been too unrealistic. Flicking the stick the wrong way yet still saving a 1-on-1. A lot of people frown upon the use of a cut back goal in FIFA but in clubs if a pro goalkeeper is at least decent then you are limited to how you can score. Cut back. Corners/crosses and using a fake shot/skill to try and fool the keeper but I've seen keepers that can even deal with them.
Pro clubs seasons. Welcome addition. Only playing teams at your level and stops players boosting and point searching. No more big teams looking for shitty teams to beat for points and avoiding the big guys. More accurate leaderboards.
Improved matchmaking searching so you can search/avoid teams with goalkeepers and anys etc plus you will be matched with teams in the same division as you, similar to head to head seasons.
Online accomplishments only. I believe there is another name for accomplishments but no longer can people boost offline or through club friendlies which is great. I remember last year coming up against one of the best teams on the second day of the early release. Scraped a 0-0 only to find out that the other team had already completed 80%+ accomplishments compared to our 20%. Makes it more interesting improving as you play clubs but also means there is more on the line when your teammates fuck up a goal/assist. :tongue: Also Gareth Reeder says that the accomplishments are all new rather than rehashes of the previous game.
There are other changes like winning division cups instead of just getting promoted. Club trophy cabinets etc but the ones I've discussed are probably the best.
Some things that I am a little disappointed about but nothing major are:
Customisable kits/crests - Gives teams a more of an identity instead of being "Barcelona v Barcelona". Some kit/crests designs on forums have been impressive. I guess the main issue would be abusing this feature to display obscene images or words but I'm sure they can find a way for FIFA 14. :)
Kit numbers - Again, not majorly important and I haven't seen anything that denies or confirms picking a kit number is an option but I'm assuming it isn't. There is a small chance since it was under consideration for FIFA 12. It would be a little bit more realistic and I'm sure people would like to wear there favourite number. Also might be easier for teammates to identify each other by numbers than the look of their pro/positions since these aren't always the same.
Overall I'm looking forward to playing the clubs mode this time. Aside from clubs I'm also liking the skill games. Loved that on the old PES games and it's about time FIFA brought it in.

X360. I play for a team that was a bit serious and were top 50 for the majority of FIFA 11 but now we play a lot more relaxed and any positions that are available. Also played for a few forum teams (including international clubs) mainly as a left back. ;) Although I'm more of a CDM now due to less players.
I always found it strange on this forum there seems to be more PS3 players than X360. I remember before I really started playing pro clubs someone tried to start an Xbox team which I was interested in but it never took off as far as I'm aware.

360; I have friends who play on the Xbox, plus I have an Xbox in the office, so it makes sense to buy it for that seeing I spend a lot of my free time up here.

Reminder, FIFA13 demo on September 11.
I was reading a bit on career mode and from what I ascertain, we can opt to have the European cup, aka "champions league" in our first season which is an improvement over last year. Supposedly it works as a random draw but then we have the ability to swap teams as we see fit.
interesting to hear the game developers talk about this - they took the words right out of my mouth because if you have to wait for the second season for "champions league" the teams are so different than what you watch on tv because there has been 3 transfer windows. We can edit players in a career mode, new advantage. And perhaps most interesting is they supposedly cured the transfer market so David Silva just doesn't get sold over and over. We will see how this goes on the final release.
I am intrigued what Season mode will be. I hope, but don't expect, it to be like career mode without the transfers such that the season has multi-tiered cups such as the EPL coupled with Carling/FA/European('champions league') cups. Much like PES season mode. However, it does seem like Seasons mode may be an online season versus what I wrote above.
Demo release times:
They have revealed specific release time details for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and unfortunately it looks like PS3 users are going to have to wait a little longer for the demo to arrive on the PlayStation Store. It is going live firstly on PC at 9am UK Time, then between 10am and 2pm for Xbox 360 gold members. Lastly but not least, PS3 users should see the demo live on the store around the 10pm-2am mark on Tuesday evening.

The squads are from an early August build in that case. It'll be sorted by release but they've chosen to take the squads as they were from a particular date and go with that for the demo. Doesn't bother me although lots will be pissed about it.

Presentation has been giving a huge facelift, kind of. The stadiums feel much more 'alive' than previous games, with stewards/people warming up on the touchline etc all moving rather than being static.

That's interesting. I've wanted to see players warming up. Even have a player waiting by the touchline, waiting to come on, if you've chosen your substitution, before the ball has gone into touch. I remember seeing this an an old game (PS2, I think), but can't remember the game.
They appear as either side is about to make a substitution as well!
Geoff Shreeves is also in the game, Podolski got injured and Geoff said he fell on his shoulder and that's why he's gone off.

Loving it.
The new Attacking A.I is simply awesome. The defensive A.I is a big improvement.
The new First touch is awesome too. A game changer if you will. Really changes how matches go.
The Complete dribbling though, thus far, Is disappointing. Doesn't seem to add much to the game but this may change when getting better/Used to it more.
Goal Keepers also seem to be massively improved over 12.

i saw your psn message to me but I was afraid to download in background so I just saw the subject line while downloading. I gathered a lot from that subject line however. still 20min away from download finish.

I played 5 games, drew 2 (lost on pens) and lost the other 3. Computer insistent on box passing me at every opportunity.
Either World Class is more difficult this time round, or Arsenal are really overrated in the game!

Most people don't but I have one and would use it if others did. Fab, Del Boy, Miggy and Original? all have mics too from what I can remember and I'm sure Barn does too but he never uses it.

Played one game on Professional and two on World Class. Berry sent me a PSN message written as FIFA12.1 and that is pretty close. But I do like small changes.
I feel like the game is too easy - those who have played against me know I am a pushover so for me to say that might state a problem. Professional was so easy it was boring. World Class was a measurable difference but I feel like a good player can break it down easily.
I love the Matchday feature. Playing a kickoff game as Arsenal and hearing Martin Tyler ripping on the fact that Giroud has not scored yet this season is great real-life orchestration of the feature. Then I score with Giroud and Tyler says "he got the monkey off his back with his first score of the season". Very nice entertainment. Might make me play kickoff games more. Heckuva diversity of commentary to make this happen.
CPU AI Improvement: seems like the CPU will take shots more often outside the box...very nice....also the CPU on the offense just doesn't simply dribble all over the pitch as in 12. CPU will look to pass realistically instead of dribbling from one sideline to the other.
CPU AI where there is No Change: seems like the CPU defense still has magical clears when defending a cross where a quick kick or clearing header miraculously goes straight to a teammate up field (this is my biggest annoyance with FIFA12 and PES2012 - seems like they fixed in PES2013 but not in FIFA13)
First Touch is subtle, so I like it. You can feel it but not an annoying feature. A few times a poor first touch player couldn't head the ball down to himself for a run which seemed very real and because of that the defense caught up with him.
Dribbling is improved slightly and in combination with First Touch it goes together nicely.

yeah i.c. there's one on walmart that i'm leaning on, it's ps3 + one game (i picked gta 4) + extra controller (dual shock) for 295 bucks. best buy is kind of a rip off merchant and gamestop mostly has refurbs.

did forget about gametop refurbs and would agree with best buy. I typically buy at Best Buy because my family always gives me gift cards for that place so I always save money in the long run. In fact I have $12 for PES2012 trade in there, and $15 more in reward money so it will be nice to take $27 off of that $59 FIFA13 price. WalMart does have the best deals.
that extra controller is nice just to avoid the recharge down time.

EDIT: I provided a longer explanation on the previous page but right after I played a handful of FIFA13 demo matches I went to PES2013 demo and I felt like I had dusted off my old PS2. PES players look ridiculous running around, their legs pump 3x as fast as they should for the ground they cover. I don't feel any huge difference in AIs between the two games other than I feel a whole lot more movement in FIFA. PES seems to force the through ball down the center more often than FIFA.

Why EA insist on such a short halve length boggles my mind cause I think it does more harm than good.

The first touch thing is very simple right now, if you run hold sprint your player will have a bad touch if you don't hold down anything he'll have a good touch. That's about it right now, although I'm sure it will improve either in the final game or in Fifa 14.
Played 3 or 4 games this morning and all I thought was meh. Very similar to Fifa 12 with a few adjustments.
Also some silly ref decisions like I got Mannone sent off when it should of only been a yellow card and penalty. Another annoying one was getting a yellow card because Milner went to overhead the ball and Vermaelen ran in barged him off the ball in mid air and Milner ended up kicking Vermaelen...really weird.
I will get it but I'm hoping it grows on me more.

I played three games yesterday - lost 2-0 in the first (Milan-Juve) as I was dicking about at the back, drew the second 0-0 with the same teams (won on penalties) and then drew 0-0 playnig as Juventus against Manchester City but couldn't be bothered with the penalties so quit.
Milan are shockingly bad, just like in real life.
I need to get my CPU and user gaem customisation settings from FIFA 12 and apply those once 13 is released.

Right, so I am downloading the demo today but I went for a search on player faces and stuff like that to see what's new AND I am personally offended by it and I am finding it hard to believe that none of you even mentioned this. The player faces are HORRIBLE for the Serie A. Compare an EPL Team detail (even kits and players) to a Serie A team detail and the difference is jaw dropping.
The Juve player faces are HORRIBLE and I cannot even begin to say that loud enough and yet NO one mentions this fact. The amount of unfairness is disguising really.
Anyway, enough negativity (even though it is shameful for EA), I will give the gameplay a try and see how it goes, so I won't say anything until I played at least 10-20 games, because tat's when the BAD CPU AI from typical Fifa start to emerge. ;) So yeah, we'll see how it goes.

Ah yes I certainly agree with you there - just look at the Juventus stats compared to Manchester City, its absurd.
A lot of it is CL-focused too - Juventus having not featured in last season's CL get a bump for their Serie A campagin (and rightly so) but don't get the real attributes they deserve.
Abbiati's rating in the last two versions of FIFA has been too close to Buffon, especially in FIFA 10. At least this year they are, I believe, 87 (Buffon) and 80 (Abbiati) which although not perfect (because I bet Casillas is 91 or something) are certainly, FINALLY, moving in the right direction albeit years too late.

Played a few games last night, and I was generally pleased... Was a nice touch how Mannone was in the net along with other real-life changes, no Cazorla though?
In the same game - I was Arsenal against Man City - went for Legendary difficulty and both goals scored by the computer, were "square balls" onto the head of Dzeko. Absolutely nothing I could've done to prevent it from happening. But managed to pull it back to 2-2 with goals from Mertesacker from a corner and a well-worked move finished off by Gervinho.
Michael Johnson coming on for Samir Nasri late on in the game made me laugh also.
The presentation of the game looks fresh and slick, you expect that every year the new FIFA comes around though.
The Skill Games as you're waiting for the game to start are pretty decent.
Shall be buying this. I'd pre-order it via. the Playstation Store but £50 is steep!

Hmm I was playing this on my laptop on the train home and it seems if you don't play it with internet Van Persie etc are all back at their old clubs. Obviously this will be changed for the final game, but keep it in mind.

Just install in tot he Fifa 13 demo folder........Change half length and see if it took effect. If it didn't check the "Skip Intro" option and then it will work.

Yeah........ I didn't realize the squad thing untill about 20 Minutes a go when I played with Arsenal..........But RVP>>>>>>>>>> That useless one who can't score :happy:
The squad thing was bugging me so I uninstalled it but it still seems to be a problem...Might have to re install the demo!

You can do the same on PS3 buy unplugging from the Net.
I think your Problem is the CL.INI in the game folder. Delete it and it should resume to normal, assuming you haven't already.
Longer games is far more Important to me right now then correct teams.

Can you just shut off the matchday feature on the game startup window on a PS3 and do it as well?

Don't think so... Seems you need to be offline in order to do it. So simply signing out of PSN should be enough.

Something pretty cool just happened, am currently playing City v Dortmund and just had a free kick so was sorting out the new 3 player free kick thing and then the ref blows his whistle and books Sebastian kehl for moving the wall forward!

Go with Shopto and you may get it an extra day or two early. I always use them. Only had one problem and they rectified it quickly.

Slowed my passes down 5 slider points and felt the game slow down and liked the feel better.
Another AI improvement I noticed is that you don't have to have your team set on Ultra attacking to get proper movement up front like you did in FIFA12. You can play balanced and still have MF and FWs move into good offensive position with the demo. Of course you can still turn up the attack. However when I did this I didn't get my CBs to move forward as I had hoped when I was set up passing the ball around the outside of the box.
A little glitch I noticed with the Demo and FIFA12 is that our players will begin to back off if a shot hits the bar or a keeper punches it. It is almost as our team's AI reads it as a turnover and trying to get back on defense. I would rather have forward motion instead of backpedalling to scoop up the deflection. I noticed this on balanced attack, but when I turned to Ultra attacking I didn't see it but then again couldn't reproduce a good bar hit on a shot.

I think the Ref is much better..........Although still a bit picky at times. He has given some pretty awful penalty decisions both for and against me.
Plus he picks up on the Push/Pull stuff pretty often both for and against and the CPU likes to use that feature.
As for creating space............I have found a combinations of precision dribbling (LB/L1 Hold+ Left stick) can help and Complete dribbling (RT/R2+LT/L2) .
Trick is to use them in moderation via quick bursts. Precision dribbling for example works best when a defender blocks the obvious route to goal, just activate, shimmy a little and then flick the right stick and just release LB and move almost simultaneously.
Works well On the wings too.

FIFA 12 Demo Legendary kicked my ass, but I was in complete control with this one. I hope the full game Legendary setting will be a lot harder than this.

On the contrary, the commentary should already be fully mapped to actions on the pitch. The choice of commentators will be limited due to file size but what they say shouldn't be.

It's always limited.
So far, better than Fifa 12 especially in the way the AI plays.
Some negatives I noticed that won' get better no matter how much I play:
- Too easy to tackle, far too easy to tackle.
- The tackling button works 3 times as fast as the pass button causing un-balance in certain situations. What i mean is that there's a slight delay when you pass till when the player passes, but it's instant for tackling.
- Again loss of individuality
- First touch. Oh my where do I begin. IT'S NOT individually related as it should be. No, it's totally random. Yes, there's less chance of a mis touch when you don't hold the sprint button, but the fact is that a player the calibre of Giovinco and Vucinic SHOULD be able to have way more success at first touches than others , even when they're sprinting.
But I really like the way you can control your shot. The power bar rises slow and that gives you much more control (even though there's hardly a difference between technical shooters and normal ones).

my worry as well. Maybe the demo is watered down to not scare new players.
My first match was on Pro and it seemed to be on a Amateur level. CPU defense just watched me as I moved into the box. I felt World Class was easier than expected; not getting a result consistently but more like 12 Professional level.

Funny that you mentioned you're finding it harder than Fifa 12, my brother is finding the same, and he's pretty good at the game, in fact, when he used to play it a LOT (he plays it less now) he was no.1 in the UK! That was on either Fifa 09 or Fifa 10.

You have to pick one as far as I'm aware, although I only know about the UK pre-order deals. With GAME you get the Adidas All Star Team and with Amazon you get 10k EASFC Credits. If you don't pre-order from GAME or Amazon then you can't get either of these extras.
Which one you planning to get, Mike? I personally don't think I'll need the Adidas All Star Team.

get out of here with that fantasy driven, dream world of a football club stuff. Realistic rosters with reasonable transfers only way to play any game. Its this fantasy playing that is messing up all sports games, now there are magic boots, experience points, career modes with the CPU unreasonably selling players. This style of game mode is allowing EA to kill franchises like FIFA and Madden. Not sure what they have done to NHL13 but I bet similar action.
It's game modes like Ultimate Team that is keeping the franchise alive.
Just look at the number of YouTube vids and the number of views they have.
Playing as a campaign with a team's normal roster gets very boring, very fast.
I assume you won't be taking part in Fifa Clubs this year, then?

I hope the code works this time as it didn't for Fifa 12. I didn't really start getting into Ultimate Team until about March though so I didn't bother looking into a solution. I had only played it briefly in past games but this time around I finally got hooked into it and it's great fun.
The only advice I can give (and I will take on board my own advice this year) is to only open packs during "Happy Hour". It increases your chances of getting an IF player, which you can sell for a hefty, hefty profit.
If you're on Twitter, follow the EA channel and they'll let you know when Happy Hours are.
The Web App goes live Tuesday night. Make sure to visit it daily up until release to get bonuses (such as free coins, free packs etc) :thumbsup:

How bad a the refs? Seems to be that most fouls result in yellow cards. Also, my keeper made a PERFECTLY good challenge on the attacker. Ref gave a penalty and sent the keeper off! :facepalm:
Also, WTF is up with the commentary? Seems to keep banging on about mystery injuries, and how my star striker will be out for a few more games even though he's clearly on the pitch!

I keep playing the FIFA and PES demos back to back. I can't see how anyone can use the old tired saying that FIFA is for casual gamers and PES for hardcore. The pitch is alive in FIFA, PES is just dead. There is no huge difference in AI...its not like PES has some incredible attacking AI.
Wish this game was out right now. Have some strange fetish to play the Belgium team, interesting squad, and really want to get into the weekly match feature that I didn't do in 12. September 25th is still a long time away.

Yeah it basically changed players ratings every week depending on their performance during the previous week.
Basically that was the lead up to the current 'Match Day' feature.

Well yeah, Aguero was injured in real life.... but he was playing up front for me! It also seems to bang on about players getting injured and waiting to come back on the pitch..... when no such thing is happening. It's the worst set of commentary since Actua Soccer 2, when it used to say you'd scored from a corner, when in reality it was a 30yrd screamer!
