View Full Version : The Non-League Thread.
Noticed that this section was lacking a thread for any fans of non-league teams or football in general can express their thoughts and opinions.
Firstly as a Wrexham fan, our season has been a mixture of the highs of purchasing our club and being able to no longer worry over our finances. A great cup run in which we were one kick away from facing Newcastle at home, but sadly we were also one goal away from the Play-Off Final. 96 points, 14 points ahead of our opponents Luton, and we will still play them next year.
On from this, what are your thoughts on the BSBP adopting a new 4 up 4 down system with League 2? Lots of League 2 clubs are in favour, Barnet who have survived on the last day for the past 4 years I believe? Said that they would welcome a system that saw 4 teams go down.

No you were two goals from the play-off final. Another would have taken it to extra-time.
Luton are my second team. Pained to have another season in the BSP. Hopefully the 4 up 4 down thing will go through, would be fantastic.

One goal and we could of hoped for the lottery of penalties. Must say I'm glad you didn't go up, wasn't a fan of yours players behaviour after the first leg and especially that of the @#!% Robbie Wilmott.
But yes, really hope that the system is revamped, too many big teams in BSBP, us both included.

Yeah I was going to say I would have preferred Wrexham to go up over a tin-pot outfit like Fleetwood but you can go fuck yourself now.
For the record Robbie Wilmott is a cunt, I don't condone his wanker behaviour and the sooner him and Lawless are gone the better.

Ah the feeling is shared don't you worry. It's just sad that this league can actually be bought so simply.
Yes every team has them I guess, just a shame that it's people like him that I know your team for, you play good football and I can't see Andre Gray staying for too long with the potential he has.

Well Luton have signed him and if they can keep him just for this season and get them promoted - he can happily go where he pleases. The team needs rebuilding, the cleansing has begun with some of the riff raff given their marching orders. Crow can get his KFC family buckets somewhere else now thank Christ. A few more need to go and they need some vital signings.
The whole midfield needs a massive overhaul. Lawless has been shit all season, Wilmott is a cunt and seems to think he has great ability which he doesn't - when he was crying after the final I felt nothing but disgust, Keane is a drunken hasbeen and a leech on the club for years and Howells has been worthless. We need two wingers and two nasty bastards to get the boot in - Luton have been to Arsenal like in that league (obviously not in talent but you know what I mean) too many lightweights in the team that get bullied off the ball too easily.
The defence again needs shaping. Pilks has been part of too many defeats and isn't captain material, Kovacs has heart but losses his concerntation far too easily.
The strike force is looking good, maybe they could get Shaw but he has going to a league club for sure. AMS hopefully might sort his fitness problems out and perhaps one more striker, a big man, like the McAllister type but younger and with more talent
The critical thing is to get this bottle job mentality out of the team that festered far too long particualrly in the Brabin regime.
Yes, well watching you play in the later part of the season in particular you have a lot of promise. I felt from a novice view that you just lacked some authority in midfield?
As for us, great season when you compare it to the start of the season, players unpaid and a broken community. But we rallied together and from the jaws of death managed to purchase the club and become financial stable.
Our major worry is keeping the lads we've had this season, great to see our Captain Keates and the real fans favourite and ex-royal Glen Little will stay despite an offer from Doncaster. We will lose top scorer Speight to a league club obviously and have already lost our converted centre back Knight-Percival (Saved us in the first leg with that goal line clearance) who has moved to Championship survivors Peterborough.
Next season in our current state I see a realistic 6/7th position, but if we can maintain the backbone of our squad and replace Speight upfront play-offs are a reality.

I did feel for Morrell. The guy was giving it everything, I reckon if a few more played like that and that fat bastard you have at centre back had went up front earlier on you probably could have won it!
Little has still got ability. He gave Howells a nightmare in the second half. I would honestly love to see Luton and Wrexham go up next season. If Forest Green, Woking or Hyde throw money at it and win it something is very wrong down in that league. No more shit, tin-pot teams and no Mansfield as they are cunts!
Morrell is a legend no matter what happens, great man and he deserves the plaudits he gets. Oh the fat bastard is Creighton, you saw all he had to offer really. Fatty who you wouldn't want to insult face-to-face.
Little is exceptional, really loved beyond believe. Yes I don't care which manner we go up as long as we do! Mansfield are just terrible, real over-achievers I think. No doubt York will come straight back down, and hopefully us big boys can finally go back home to the Football League.
