1.1 Squads & Administration

1. For the season ahead you will be asked to pick 25 players, you may buy more than 25 players but you will be asked to submit a final squad of 25 by no later than the 1st kicks off on the 8th September.

Players picked for matches will score points for you from the 18th August 2012

If you have in excess of 25 players and fail to submit your 25-man squad by this date (8th September), your strongest 25 players will be picked for you.

2. The players outside of the squad will be available for sale or rotation on the 1st of January 2013 at the onset of the next transfer window.

As of the 1st January 2013, the squad of 25 restrictions do not apply during the transfer window. Any returning players from loans will be available to the parent club to select. As of the end of the January Transfer window (date to be confirmed nearer the time) you will again have to submit a squad of 25 for the remaining section of the season.

3. Players outside of the squad are permitted to be emergency loaned to fellow competitors in situations where you cannot submit a match day starting XI.

Any players that you loan cannot be included in a final squad of 25. Players submitted for the final squad of 25 must be available to the player.

4. You then need to submit your first 11 by first kick off of that round of fixtures.

5. A squad comprises of:

3 Goalkeepers, 8 Defenders, 9 Midfielders, 5 Strikers

6. Loans, finer details: Any player loan that expires prior to the January Transfer window opening will be returned to the parent club but he will be unavailable to the parent club unless the loan expires prior to the 8th September. Players who's loans expire on the 31st December are available as of the next match day.

FAQ

Q: How does the 25 man squad work?
A: It's 25 players you buy from your budget of £125m, regardless of how many players you buy, you must submit a squad of 25 players no later than the first kick off of the day on the 8th September.

Q: What if I run out of money?
A: If you're unable to complete a squad you will be placed into Administration. Don't forget you can earn money by picking any players in a starting XI from your squad prior to the September 8th cut off. There are four gameweeks leading up to the cut off point.

Q: Adminis ... what?
A: There are two stages, first you will be forced to sell your most saleable asset to complete a squad, myself and Nifty will broker the sale (Nifty and I cannot buy that player ourselves) we will negotiate the best deal to ensure squad completion. Secondly, in the event this is not possible for whatever reason, you will be paired with a lower division team (Crewe for example). Players from that team will be placed in your squad. They obviously cannot be picked as they don't play in the Premier League but you will have to pay for the loaning of these players. 10k per per player, per week until the January transfer window.

Q: How long does Administration last?
A: Until a team is solvent with 25 players in its squad, so possibly until February depending on how bad the situation is at the club.

Q: Seems a bit unfair
A: It is the same for everyone

Q: What should I do now?
A: You should list saleable assets if you believe you will be unable to make a squad. If you need help budgeting, ask myself or Nifty for assistance.

Q: I have more than 25 players, what do I do with players outside of the 25? Am I penalised and do I have to forfeit money?
A: Players outside of the final squad of 25 are unavailable to you but you do not incur a forfeit of £1m for this. If for whatever reason you choose to release a player entirely from your club you will forfeit £1m. It does however make no sense to do so, unless you see no chance to sell or loan this player at any point during the season for a profit.

1.3 Budget

Each team begins with a budget of £125m and should consider how best to allocate their budget to a minimum squad of 25. Money is not transferable between teams unless it is for player sales/loans.

Each player earns £100k per point earned in game for use during the January Transfer window.

1.6 Transfers

Transfers are permitted between clubs during transfer windows, but a player can only be registered between two clubs in a season. This includes the loaning of players.

The Transfer windows are:

Summer July - September 7th
Winter January 1st-TBC

Emergency loans are the only deals that can be concluded outside of the transfer window. As with all loans, the period is decided between the two parties.

Any players purchased who either ...

a: Leaves within the first transfer window for another country
b: Are injured to the extent they will miss 50% of the season

... Will result in a full refund of money paid to the club who owns them.

Upon the completion of loans, players are returned to their parent club. For scenarios relating to returning loan-ees See 1.1 for details.

I will be your official scorekeeper for the next 34 weeks so we might as well saddle up and get cozy with one another.

There is going to be a few slight modifications to the scoring.

1)We are going full Telegraph scoring from here on out. So all KC points are at the whim of the Telegraph.

2) The number of total gameweeks is now reset to be equal to the total number of EPL fixtures (N = 38). Each club will be standardized on level competition so can only play 11 players x 38 weeks.

This means that Nifty and I are going to re-compute the gameweek 2 and 4 by merging them together to create one gameweek. Not all teams had the opportunity to gain that gameweek 2 extra points while others (like me) had the opportuntiy to throw every Reading and Chelsea player they owned into the mix and then double up those positions knowing it was basically free points.

Each club will now only be allowed to gain points from only 11 players over those two weeks. So those teams that started any Reading or Chelsea players in the old gameweek 2 might see an adjustment to your total points.

However, because we changing this after the fact we are making the following concession. Teams that started players for Reading or Chelsea who then overlapped those positions in gameweek 4 will only receive points from 11 players but you will be awarded the higher of the scores for those overlapping players.
example: A team started a Chelsea keeper in gameweek two and hypothetically was awarded 6 pts. That same team started another keeper in gameweek 4 and was awarded 2pts. The correction will only give that team 6 pts instead of 8pts for the goal keeper position.

This isn't the only option we could have chosen to merge weeks 2 & 4 but after talking with several people in our league, including Nifty, it seemed like a fair one to get on the track of 11 players x 38 weeks.

I know that points did have ramifications on how much money we earned before the transfer period ended, but I think teams that did not get the extra points will be happy to gain a bit on the overall table.

finally,
3) Small change, you now have until kickoff of the first match of the gameweek to post your starting lineups on your team page. Basically gives you a little more time. I typically log the starting lineups while watching the morning (well my morning) match.

**Important rules clarification now that we have gone completely with the Telegraph for scoring**

The telegraph award points based on a players listed position on their site, not the position they may start.

so, Gareth Bale, listed as a MF, does not get Clean Sheets points or charged for goals conceded if he actually starts LB for Tottenham.

Similarly, a player like Emerson Boyce who is listed by the telegraph as a DF gets scored as a DF regardless if he starts as a MF. So he still gets clean sheets/goals conceded points scored to him.

So the conversion from Sminky's scoring to the Telegraph scoring our league made in Week 5 brings along this position mediated scoring.

You need to start a player in relation to their listed position to be in line with the Formation allotment rules of our league, so Bale can only be started as a MF and Boyce can only be started as a DF regardless of where their actual real-life clubs place these types of players.

Injured players do no result in refunds; only players who leave the Premier League can trigger a refund.

Squads of 25 are only named on two occasions - once at the season start (already happened) and the next time after the conclusion of the January transfer window.

Therefore, any players named in the initial 25-man squad are there to stay, regardless of unavailability. The only opportunity to change this squad will come when the second squad-naming phase comes around.

A caveat on this would be in exceptional circumstances - for example, all of a team's goalkeepers get injured and we allow an emergency loan transfer into the league (a bit like in real life). These will be dealt with case-by-case, should they arise.

Reminder - the Chelsea vs Southampton match has been postponed until a later date. Any Chelsea or Southampton player you start this week will be locked into playing when this match actually takes place, regarless of when. You will not be able to alter your roster for the re-scheduled match after the first kickoff, Saturday December 15th.

Points accrued for players in this rescheduled match will be retroactively inserted into Week 17 when finally played.

The Arsenal - West Ham match is postponed today. If you start any players from the aforementioned clubs they will be locked into playing when this postponed match is rescheduled.

Also - for clarification - because this match is postponed, we all have until 3pm kickoff, Bolton Time, to post our lineups. With 7 simultaneous kickoffs at the time it will be a feeding frenzy.

Players from Jesus Beverages will not be made available during the transfer window. That team will remain intact.

During the month of January, and until the transfer window closes, each club may play any player they own. By the end of the transfer window, each club will have to submit their final 25 for the remainder of the season. After that time you may only start players on that 25-man squad. Remember the final 25 must follow the position requirements per club as follows:

3 Goalkeepers, 8 Defenders, 9 Midfielders, 5 Strikers

also, by now each club should have bookmarked the emergency outlets to post lineups if the site goes down again (see above)

After Nifty closes out the last auction, every Club will have the opportunity to complete club to club transfers until Friday, Feb 8th at 23:59. Also, this time marks the period that all clubs must submit their final 25-man roster for the remainder of the season.

Remember that the 25 man roster must be composed of the following:
3 Goalkeepers, 8 Defenders, 9 Midfielders, 5 Strikers

You shall post your final 25 man roster in the first and last post of your club thread (the last lets me realize it was updated).

Clubs failing to complete this action will be penalized points. How many? I haven't decided yet.

Matchweek 27 is divided into two weekends with the Liverpool vs Swansea match this coming weekend and all remaining fixtures the next weekend. Because of this irregular arrangement each club can post their starters for Liv-Swa before that kickoff, but can wait to post their remaining starting 11 before the first kickoff of Prem matches on Saturday, 23 February.

If you want, you can simply post a full lineup and edit later but once Liv-Swa kicks off you cannot remove any players from those two clubs. As always, please alert me to any lineup changes with an additional post after your starting 11, then make those changes in you original starting 11 post.
