With the official transfer window now only a matter of minutes away, speculation has been heating up and the media frenzy is starting to take over as journalists try to get the latest scoop from all of the clubs preparing to compete in the PESGaming Fantasy Football League 2012/13.

As this season's rosters are being completely remoulded from a blank canvas, both national and local papers are likely to have plenty to talk about, with there expected to be at least 350 transfers completed within the next month or so.

Be sure to check back here regularly for all of the latest news, rumours, speculation and gossip as we keep an ear to the ground and break the stories as they happen.

Reports are surfacing that Team Zissou and Appsletico Madrid are set to battle it out for the signature of Premier League newcomer Adam Federici, with a fee of approximately £5m expected to be enough to secure his signature.

Eboue's Army FC are expected to finalise a deal for Arsenal stopper Wojciech Szczęsny within the next 24 hours.

American duo Brad Friedel and Tim Howard have issued come-and-get-me pleas to clubs in the PESGaming Fantasy Football League, with the prospect of playing in the mega-rich division a real draw.

Manchester United have slapped a £30m price-tag on Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea, who is said to be attracting interest from both Egyptian-owned clubs, Real Cairo and 11 Devils.

Fans of Team Rocket are reportedly becoming disgruntled at the club's lack of ambition thus far in the transfer market. Spokesperson Nasa Hussein has said the loyal following are hoping for 'positive news' in the coming days but added that they were 'hopeful rather than expectant.'

Reports in Belgium are suggesting that Vincent Kompany would favour a move to an established club in the PESGaming Fantasy Football league, rather than one of the new teams.

Full-back Kyle Walker has been the subject of a number of bids, with a fee of about £6m expected to land the pacey Englishman.

Team Rocket lead the chase for in-demand centre-back Phil Jones.

Fulham defender Brede Hangeland is set to choose between PAO FC and 11 Devils, with the Norwegian reportedly favouring the latter.

PAO FC manager Nikos is expected to turn his attention to John Terry should his Hangeland bid fail, although the ex-England captain is expected to fetch a price well into double figures for his services with a number of clubs interested despite his ongoing racism trial.

Recent Sunderland signing Carlos Cuéllar is said to be on the radar of three clubs, who wish to remain anonymous. However, a source close to the Spaniard has suggested that "a £5m deal has been agreed."

The race to sign in-demand striker Fernando Torres seems to be hotting up, with a source close to the striker claiming at lesat 6 clubs have tabled bids.

Fans of Norfolk Enchance are said to be hoping for a marquee signing to be announced shortly, with the club's management thus far hesitant to over-spend.

With futures uncertain, target men Grant Holt and Nicklas Bendtner are likely to be overlooked, with PESGaming Fantasy Football League clubs looking elsewhere for their firepower.

Team Rocket are expected to announce that fan favourite Danny Graham will re-sign for the Viridian club in the coming hours.

Sources close to the PESGaming Fantasy Football League headquarters have leaked information that suggests clubs in the league are starting to feel the pinch after some exhorbitant early spending.

Whilst in the last two bidding windows, managers have shelled out in excess of £200m in each window, it is expected that those figures will be a lot more conservative with clubs beginning to realise the ramifications of their early transactions.

Heavy rumours are circulating in the football world that Team Zissou have made bids in excess of £20m in an attempt to secure a world class goalkeeper.

Club manager Steve Zissou was giving very little away, although did confirm that he was in the market for several keepers, but refused to give names. "Yes, we've made several bids. We really need a goalie or two on ours books. As it stands I'll be forced to play my wife in goal, which is a bad thing, because I don't have a wife."

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has set his heart on a big money move to the PESGaming Fantasy Football league. Sources close to the Spaniard said he remained 'very optimistic' about securing a deal to join one of a host of clubs in the league who had been linked with him.

Brad Friedel's agent has confirmed the player is currently entertaining 'several' contract offers from numerous clubs, although he stopped short from confirming whether the American had entered into advanced negotiations with any party.

Danish international Mikkel Andersen hopes that his impressive Euro 2012 showing will encourage clubs in the major leagues to bid for him, with the player said to be keen to represent the PESGaming Fantasy Football League in the coming season.

Fans of league newcomers Team Zissou are worried by the prospect that the manager may fail to land a goalkeeper during the current window, citing the man at the helm's lack of experience and naïvety as the main fuel of their concern.

A spokesperson for an unofficial fans' website, who wished to remain anonymous, said, "Perhaps a manager more familiar with the league may have made better moves in the market. I'm hoping he pulls something out of the bag. It would certainly steady a few nerves."

So if I fail to land a goalie in this window, or even three goalies, do I have to buy them off other teams (assuming that 3xno.of teams are in circulation)?

No, not unless you choose to. There will be free-for-all rounds later in the game where any position can be bid on.

Fans of Norfolk Enchance are said to be full of optimism as they look forward to learning who manager Berry is planning on adding to his squad - he only needs 4 more players and, with the season opener only a couple of weeks away, things are looking promising.

The most extravagant of names linked with a move to the Aviva Arena in recent times is Spaniard Santi Cazorla. The 27-year-old is sure to have many clubs to choose from as his search for a new club continues.

Tiote 'Cheicks' in at Norfolk

Norfolk Enchance have today completed the signing of Ivory Coast international midfielder Cheick Tiote from Appsletico Madrid for a fee of £4,000,000.

And Cheikh took little time in expressing his delight at joining up with his new team-mates at Enchance, especially Demba Ba, before then meeting flocks of supporters who gathered outside the Aviva Arena.

Tiote said: "This is a really proud moment for me and I can't wait to pull on the yellow and green shirt."

"I'll do my best to help Norfolk Enchance have a successful season."

Norfolk Enchance boss Mr. Berry said in the press conference: "It's definitely given us a lift. It's been a tough time recently, due to the speculation surrounding Alex [Song] but I'm delighted to have added Cheick to our squad."

"We feel what happens in the middle of the pitch can be the difference between winning and losing a lot of the time, and I feel Tiote can make a very positive contribution in that area."

"Cheik is a terrific signing for us and I am sure he will prove to be an excellent addition to the squad.

The 26-year-old is a defensive-minded midfielder, who breaks up play and turns over possession into his own side's favour.

A Few Words From The Boss

http://www.arsenal.com/assets/_files/images/import/-Images-e-eboue_0607thumbsup.jpg

Hello, my friends. This is your pilot, Eboue Emmanuel, speaking. I am very happy and pleased to talk to you today. In just a few hours, the new season of the Barclaycard Premier League will begin and with it the start of another exciting season of the PESInsight Fantasy League.

I am very happy to present to you my team for the new season, Eboue's Army, which I own and maintain. I hope everyone is happy with the name of the club, as well as the new club badge - I know I am and I would like to thank my personal designer, RB14 Berry, for the design of the badge. It is very nice and he will receive his payment in the next 4-6 months.

Looking at the team, I can only smile. This is because I had dental surgery just four hours ago and my expression is now locked in place for the time being. Even so, I think we can be very proud of how our team is shaping. The defence is nice. The midfield is nice. The attack is nice. The city in south-east France is Nice.

Many people ask me - they say: "Mr. Eboue, sir, you have just three strikers. Where will the goals come from?" To which I reply, "I'm not paying you to talk." But then, I thought about it a bit and it is true - we are lacking in strikers. So I have decided that I will sign my friend Nicklas. He is tall like giraffe and he is willing to play, so long as we offer him Champions Cup football. I don't know what that is, so I will forge his signature and then blackmail him with incriminating photographs I took at the 2009 Christmas party.

But enough about my team, dear listeners. Now I shall look at the competition and I thank God that there is no-one remotely good. I am reliably informed Club University of Houndslow won the league last year. This would have been impressive if they hadn't had all the best players and their university isn't even in the Times' top 200.

Last years' Tinkie-Winkie Cup champions Mid-table Medicine Wanderers are also back for a second crack of the whip, but this time they are 'Newco', so they will start with a 10-point deduction for entering administration. Unlike the rest of the Wanderers, they did well last season, but, as we know well, it's hard to swim against the tide for too long. I often wonder why there are so many clubs are called 'Wanderers', rather than 'Runners' or 'Sprinters', but I am somewhat glad of their slow-walking-style, as it will be easier for us to speed away from them.

Another team I've heard of is HMS Fatzio. I am especially interested in this team, as they are the only sea-based team in this league and I look forward to boarding their boat for a maiden voyage later on in the season. I have heard that all their players must weigh over a certain weight to play for them - perhaps it is they who are more suited to the 'wandering', or, at the very least, waddling.

Then there is my good friend Mr. Berry's team, Norfolk Enchance. I agree.

Sporting Club de French Words will be there or thereabouts, which is a nice change, because, last season, they just weren't there. Their industrial quantity of Queens' Park players means I do not see them as a threat though.

Iron Manchester City United have decided to put a dog as their new manager. I put that move in bold, because that's what it is. But I respect their audacity and it also gives them an excuse for their lacklustre display in the current transfer window. However, the signing of Bramble for £2m was a touch of inspiration and I've heard that they are also looking to table a multi-million pound bid for my friend, Amaury, who has never kicked a ball in his whole life. I wish them good luck and God's speed in this endeavour.

Finally, I come to the team of Nifty1poundNifty's team: FC Sklep Garibaldi. Their incessantly small stadium annoys me, but what is even worse is that they house The Betrayer. For this, I fear even God may not forgive them and I plan to carry out a brutal revenge of my own. I will take him down like an angry lion delivering the killing blow on an unwitting gazelle. With this in mind, this was a very poor signing.

Sadly, the rest of the teams are very boring. I am dissapointed.

Good night, everyone and keep watching the stars.

This is Eboue Emmanuel signing off. Nice!

http://www.arsenal.com/assets/_files/images/import/-Images-e-eboue_0607thumbsup.jpg

*Emmanuel Eboue's views do not represent those of Eboue's Army, it's real manager or it's players - we all consider Titus Bramble to be a terrible signing.

Sklep to stick with old Guard?

After less than a week of the PESGaming Fantasy Football 2012/13 season, questions over Connolly's team selection are being raised, with many wondering whether the tried-and-tested crop of experienced players need to be rotated and challenged for their places.

Although the man at the helm could not be drawn to comment, it is widely believed that the upcoming weekend of fixtures could see the manager shuffle his pack, with the likes of Jonas Olsson and Bryan Ruiz set to feature after West Bromwich Albion's and Fulham's impressive starts.

Any such changes would surely be welcomed by FC Sklep Guardiola's faithful, who line the terraces every week, as they were said to be disappointed by the manager's selection - in particular, leaving Eastlands goal-hero Rickie Lambert on the bench in place of the profligate Modibo Maiga.

Their concerns, albeit only a week in, are supported by the standings, with the Period Meadows-based club currently languishing adrift at the foot of the league table on a paltry 12 points.

Sources close to Connolly suggest that the time for panic-stations is not upon the team yet, however the club will be desperate for a positive performance this coming weekend to allay any fears that might be creeping in about the team's title ambitions, even at this early stage.

The 2012 Twinkie Cup Dates are Announced
Round 1: Gameweek of Sept. 29-30 & Oct 1
Round 2: Gameweek of Oct 27-28
Round 3: Gameweek of Nov 24-25
Round 4 Final: Gameweek of Dec 22

For newcomers to the league, TheTwinkie Cup (tm) is a single elimination, head to head tournament where clubs are pitted against one another and the winner is determined by gameweek points.

Winner receives a package of disgustingly good food items made in the USA but not available, or rarely available, outside our borders. And of course, a box of Hostess Twinkies is among the prizes. Runner up gets a more modest, yet palatable, prize.

Because we have a 15-team league, the Twinkie Alogrithim has resolved a 4 round tournament where one team will receive a first round bye. Iron City United is one team that does not receive a bye since hosting.

Tournament Draws will be made on Monday, September 24th for first round of play that upcoming weekend.

Ali is our reigning Twinkie Cup Champion with SS Phatzio playing runner up last year.

Stay tuned for the random draw to see your placement and first round foe.

Congreen Issues Manager Ultimatum

http://cdn.memegenerator.net/images/160x/1570.jpg

After recently giving Newco manager, Ali Beedoubleyoueffsee the vote of confidence, rumours are rife today of the once-successful manager being on his last legs, with one simple message being given by the chairman, Walt Congreen - "get a positive result, or you're out".

Newco have struggled so far this term, with several of their star players under performing.

They may be some positive news on the horizon. Star midfielder Oscar grabbed a brace for the Development Squad in midweek, and may be set to start his first league game.

Can't believe I didn't see the 2012 Hostess Twinkie Cup video until now.

Excellent job, and I'm loving the inclusion of the Hostess logo, as if we've signed a contract for Hostess to be the official sponsor to our Cup.

If I get knocked out first round I'll cry.

Also, what are people's thoughts on 'some' discussion within the Press Room thread? I think it should be encouraged really based upon the Press releases. Obviously lengthier discussion should occur in the main FL thread, but we should definitely continue to still somewhat post in here, going back and forth with graphics and appreciation etc.

The PESG Fantasy Football Association Natives welcome Abu off the boat

The PESG FFL is proud to announce Abu into its family of managers. Abu steps in to save an ailing club from administration. He takes over a club that is in high morale from a recent first round Twinkie Cup win and holds a 5th place table spot. "I am excited to bring my identity to the club" harped the youngest manager in PESG FF history, "Get into the lockerroom and get to know the lads". Still, Abu remarked how 5th place wasn't good enough and wasn't afraid to "trim the fat" to get his club to top form.

Makabi Hafaisure CB John Terry Banned to Eliminate Selection Woes for S.S. Phatizo

The psychological burden of selecting a starting 11 was made easier this week for the S.S. Phatzio manager with the league's banning of John Terry for 4 games. S.S. Phatzio has agonized over the irregular drop of Gary Cahhill whilst starting the defender 6 out of 7 weeks. Nonetheless, S.S. Phazio has faired well with the variably used defender by scoring 18 of Cahill's possible 21 pts this season. Starting him thrice when not used and missing out on one subbed appearance with a partial clean sheet (3pts lost).

Vincent Kompany hasn't exactly replicated last seasons form. Somewhat disappointing for a £16.5m marquee signing. However this is offset by Pienaar who for under £4m has proved a worthy acquisition. To think that tight bastard Phatmann offered me a measly £5m for him. That's criminal, almost as farcical as some of the offers made by Berry and KarimES for Tevez.

Must say, I think Wilshere is somewhat an unfair inclusion considering his injuries. Same with Gaston Ramirez.

:crymore::shocking::no::cussin g::bammers::crynaldo::lecry::N O:

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Twinkies are being sold on the Internet like exquisite delicacies.

Hours after Twinkie-maker Hostess announced its plans to close its doors forever, people flocked to stores to fill their shopping baskets with boxes of the cream-filled sponge cakes and their sibling snacks — Ding Dongs, Ho Hos and Zingers.

Late Friday and Saturday, the opportunists took to eBay and Craigslist. They began marketing their hoard to whimsical collectors and junk-food lovers for hundreds — and in some cases — thousands of dollars. That's a fat profit margin, when you consider the retail price for a box of 10 Twinkies is roughly $5.

Greg Edmonds of Sherman, Texas is among those who believe Twinkies are worth more now that Hostess Brands Inc. has closed its bakeries. He lost his job as a sales representative eight months ago, so he is hoping to make some money feeding the appetites of Twinkie fans and connoisseurs

After spending a couple hours driving around to stores Friday, Edmonds wound up with 16 boxes of Twinkies and Ding Dongs. He started selling them Saturday on eBay, advertising three boxes for a hefty price of $300.

"I could really use the extra money since I'm unemployed," Edmonds, 50, said. "I figure I better sell them pretty quickly because I am not sure how long this novelty is going to last."

Contrary to popular belief, Twinkies don't last forever. Most bought in stores Friday carry an expiration date of early December,

If buyers don't bite, Edmonds isn't sure what he will do with his supply. He doesn't even like them. "I do like to have a Ding Dong, every once in a while though," he said.

John Stansel of Tampa, Fla. blanches at the thought of eating a Twinkie. He's a self-described health nut.

Yet he, too, rummaged shelves late Friday at a neighborhood Walgreens and then again early Saturday at Target and a grocery store. He spent about $100 for 20 boxes of Twinkies and Ding Dongs. His goal: sell them for about $1,000 and put the money to good use.

"Maybe I will hire a personal trainer for myself or go do some shopping at Whole Foods or donate the money to a charity to fight diabetes," Stansel, 40, said. "No matter what, I figure I am getting sugar off the streets."

Although Hostess is shutting down, it's still possible that Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Ho Hos could make a comeback. That's because Hostess is planning to sell its brands and other assets at an auction to be overseen by a U.S. bankruptcy judge in New York. Several potential buyers could emerge for Twinkies, particularly with the recent outpouring of affection.

Maiga may go?

http://westhamworld.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/get.jpeg

Modibo Maiga is understood to favour a move away from Miesiączka Łąka, with the Malian striker having been left out in the cold for much of this season by his manager Matt Connolly.

The news is said to have put Appsletico Madrid CF on high-alert, who have made no secret of their wish to strengthen their attack.

It remains to be seen whether Eamonn Holmes will be willing to part with the cash required to secure the talented African, although a source close to FC Sklep has confirmed that Maiga would be open to a move to the Vicente Calderón de Appsletico.

"Mod[ibo] feels he should start. He has shown enough promise in his minutes with West Ham to be given his chance. He had a conversation with the manager and it was made clear that he will not play the games he wants to."

It is understood the Malian forward will command a fee in the region of £2.5m, which would represent a loss for FC Sklep Guardiola as they look to cut their ties with him.

FC Sklep manager Connolly was all-too-happy to comment, stating on record that "Mod[ibo Maiga] has worked his socks off for us ever since signing. He has been a model professional and it seems like his patience has simply worn thin. We've got a competitive bunch, here - with a lot of talent, especially in attacking areas. He'd be a great asset for any club, certainly one that was lacking options and needed a goalscoring boost. Unfortunately, with us challenging for the upper honours, he is likely to be restricted in game-time here."

Tevez: "I want to leave Jesus Beverages!"

http://news.ladbrokes.com/en-gb/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Carlos-Tevez-Man-City.gif

Carlos Tevez has revealed that he wants to leave in January.

The striker is quoted in an interview on an Argentinian radio station as saying he is ready to walk away from Les Sminkercais.

"It is with great regret that I have to inform Jesus Beverage of my wish to leave the club," he said.

"I hope that most of the fans will understand that I have given them my all on the pitch and that my dedication to the cause has been 100% on the pitch.

"I would like to state that I have great respect for the club, its supporters and de facto owners, the descendants of Jesus, who have been nothing other than respectful to me."

Although there is no potential buyer at present, offers are sure to come for one of the world's best players.

Whether anyone can meet the valuation of £15m is another matter.

At a time when the spectre of UEFA's financial fair play rules hangs heavy over the club's transfer dealings, if they did decide to let Tevez leave, they would want to maximise their return on one of their most saleable assets.

In further transfer news, the club refused to acknowledge or deny their intentions to bid £24.8m for Gareth Bale

Very Important to Read

The Sunderland - Reading Match that was postponed due to bad weather has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 11th.

Keeping in tune with what we did last year, and to ensure no teams can play more than 11 x 38weeks of players, only the players that FL clubs already had inserted into their starting lineups the week that the Sunderland/Reading players was postponed willl be scored for the December 11th rescheduled match.

If your remember back, we eventually combined gameweeks 2 and 4 into one week to eliminate unfair advantages of clubs that inserted players into that lone Chelsea - Reading match (Chelsea rescheduled because of the joke SuperCup). To get each squad down to only 11 players for those combined weeks I chose the highest scores among all players selected by clubs. So.....and I am best example, I can no longer count my Sunderland start of the postponed match (Sessegnon) because I used a higher score fom someone else that week to tally 11 players. The same will be applied to all clubs although i think I am the only one that falls into that category if I remember correctly. I will double check on that line up problem and let you know the results.

I've just spent the last 30 minutes digging around my house trying to find my Dr. Seuss "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" book, but to no success. What's Going On At Eboue's Army?

http://i3.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article1492704.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Fellaini+head+butt
Making New Friends: Marouane Fellaini's first day of training at FC Sklep Guardiola ends in acrimonious circumstances

With the January transfer window well under way, Eboue's Army fans will be asking themselves what their club is up to. The crisis-club have already faced an exodus of players, letting four go, with just eight days of the window gone, while only bringing in a meagre total of two replacements. These shocking developments have got supporters up-in-arms, especially as the club appears to be sitting on transfer war-chest worth literally hundreds of millions of pounds.

"It's a disgrace. An absolute ******* disgrace" said one angry man. "We've already had eight days of the window and the ******** haven't signed all the players I said we should sign to my mates in the pub."

Another man pretending not to be Viperized had this to say: "**** THE BOARD. **** THE MANAGER. **** THE PLAYERS. This club is an EMBARRASSMENT."

A sentiment echoed by the mandatory third interviewed man: "Me and my mates are gonna stop going to games and spending stuff on the team and everyone else should too - after all, if they have less money, that'll mean they'll spend more. It's so obvious. Hashtag economics."

With the fan-club relationship at an all-time-low, everyone will keenly wait, with baited breath, to see if the club will do the right thing and satisfy the whims of each and every one of their fans, especially the ones with no knowledge in the areas of economics, finance or business management (or maths) whatsoever. Only then can Eboue's Army be considered as a respectable and sensible club again.

Fans expectant on transfer deadline day!

http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/oo254/bella_13_SPMS/_hand_over_money.gif

On the eve of yet another full fixture schedule, fans' appetites up-and-down the PESGaming Fantasy Football League will have been whetted by the prospect of transfer deadline day, with the final round of bidding due to start in only four hours.

It is understood that the top three clubs have all been given war-chests in excess of £60m to spend, with many experts predicting the title could be won - or lost - in the transfer market over the next few days.

The following faithful of Eboue's Army, in particular, have endured a January window thus far which has seen big name departures, most notably Marouane Fellaini to title rivals FC Sklep Guardiola, for an inter-club record fee of £35m.

Many fans were left bemused by this decision by George Bamfield, however he will point to Fellaini's inability to hit the target since his move, combined with his club's reduction of the deficit to the leaders by 15 points, as strategic shrewdness on his part.

The man at the helm of the league's in-form side, however, will know that a replacement - and perhaps a high-profile one - will need to be sought.

Elsewhere in the league, many clubs have already seemed to conclude their business dealings, with the chasing pair of Real Cairo and 11 Devils both splashing out over £40m each on new strikers. The Egyptian-based consortia will certainly be looking to French pair Yoan Gouffran and Loic Rémy to provide the firepower to propel them into a late title-challenge.

The talk on the terraces will continue to be split, however, with clubs throughout the league having big fixtures to concentrate on in what could be a defining next few months.

The likes of rock-bottom Appsletico Madrid CF seem in a perilous position, although new-boy Moussa Sissoko will quickly adopt cult status if he can help them in their plight and lift them off the bottom. And, at £38.1m, perhaps his manager will expect him to.

The middle of the pack sees Makabi Haifasure fans continuing to look over their shoulders, however the optimistic amongst them will certainly be setting their sights on a top-half finish.

S.S. Phatzio and Iron City United are also unlikely to strike further deals, with both clubs making it clear that they would have to sell to buy; Phatzio manager Michael Burke will look to consolidate half-a-season of good work with his existing crop, the aim surely being to be in the top four come May. Across the pond, Mike Wilson will be rallying his ICU charges to continue pushing for the top seven, although with the gap continuing to widen, perhaps avoiding the bottom three is more realistic.

No matter who your club, the next few days could be a defining period and have a major impact on the shake-up at the end of the season. With plenty to play for at both ends of the table and financial competition, too, the upcoming weekend is sure to be one of the most gripping in PESGaming Fantasy Football history.

Could we see yet more money change hands? Or will this prove an anti-climactic end to a previously-frantic and big-spending window?

The general consensus around much of the league is that very few deals are left to be done, with many sides expected to opt for a hold-what-we-have approach - indeed, half of the league's managers have already submitted paperwork detailing their 25-man roster for the second half of the league campaign.

With only a few hours to go, it seems a lifetime ago that the January 2013 window opened, with the first noteworthy move seeing bottom club shell out £7m to secure the services of Moussa Dembélé from Team Zissou.

http://talkvietnam.com/uploads/2012/08/spurs-and-fulham-confirmed-the-transfer-of-dembele-for-a-fee-understood-to-be-in-the-region-of-15million-after-the-forward-passed-a-medical-and-agreed-a-522667-112170584-football-330776d.jpg

Whilst managers clamoured to land their prized assets, spare a thought too for butt-of-the-joke Gervinho, whose Makabi Haifasure career lasted only 12 days. After Makabi brokered a deal for £3m with Eboue's Army for the Ivorian on 3rd January, no sooner were they announcing his departure to Appsletico Madrid CF for a similar fee. The nomadic front-man will hope to find a settled home at his latest club and let his football do the talking in a struggling side.

Tottenham's latest acquisition, Lewis Holtby, remains the transfer window's biggest outlay, with Newco Midtable Mediocrity Wanderers forking out a staggering £57.7m to land the German international. The Newco directors will no doubt be expecting a fairly swift return and perhaps the midfielder himself will need divine intervention to justify such a price tag.

With only hours remaining, who will your club sign? Will the big-money deals pay dividends or will a measured approach reap rewards? Only time will tell as the PESGaming Fantasy Football League transfer window shuts only hours from now.

FC Sklep Guardiola issue public statement regarding Connolly

PESGaming Fantasy Football league leaders FC Sklep Guardiola have issued a club statement to put fans' concerns at ease following the mysterious and unaccounted for absence of their manager, Matthew Connolly, in recent weeks.

A representative of the table-topping club said: "FC Sklep Guardiola would like to make it clear that the club has been continued to be run in spite of some official leave afforded to Matthew Connolly, in light of recent personal circumstances.

"Whilst the club appreciate the manager's absence has been a source of concern amongst many fans, Matthew was very forthright in his request for a number of weeks absent in order to attend to private matters, the specifics of which are of no concern to the public at this time.

"The club would like to further make it clear that Matthew's plans and blueprint were followed through to the letter, with the manager issuing instructions to his backroom staff to continue with an unchanged side for the duration of his absence.

"Of course, the club is delighted to welcome back Matthew to full duty in time for the upcoming set of fixtures and we hope he will bring with him the dynamic approach that has seen the club perform so remarkably well thus far in the campaign.

"At this time, we would ask the media to respect Matthew's wishes for privacy over the exact details of his prolonged and sudden absence, in exactly the same fashion that everybody involved at the club has done."

Although not perhaps as revealing as many had hoped, the confirmation of Connolly's return to forefront of the club will have reassured many fans that their title tilt is still well on track, despite the club's lead at the top of the league narrowing in recent weeks.

The club's move to publicly confront the manager's recent absence may be seen by cynics as a reaction amidst growing rumours of a penalty being put in place for the club's failure to adhere to the spirit of the competition. In some quarters, it was thought that the league commission were considering imposing sanctions that may see FC Sklep Guardiola penalised for their at-a-distance treatment of the competition.

Addressing these rumours directly, another club spokesman was blunt: "FC Sklep Guardiola would like to categorically deny the ludicrous accusation that an employee of ours - in this case the manager - has decided the PESGaming Fantasy Football League competition is not his priority. The league is our number one concern, especially considering our status as justified favourites, and to disrespect a competition in which we have strived so hard for success, is unthinkable. We are not Manchester United and this is not the FA Cup!"

Connolly in bullish mood: "It is ours to lose"

FC Sklep Guardiola manager was back to his usual confident self after his recent absence when he addressed media at a press conference on Saturday morning at Miesiączka Łąka stadium.

Speaking during a weekend bereft of fixtures, a sparsely assembled set of journalists were on hand to hear Connolly explain that the title was theirs "to lose."

"It is entirely within our hands, now. We've built a lead and maintained it for so long - a lot of you have already been saying it is a foregone conclusion.

"Whilst we're favourites - of course we are - we're guarding against complacency. There's no premature celebrations just yet.

"We'll need to keep working hard for eight more weeks, right to the end. If we can continue our form I do think we should see it through. From that perspective, you could say it is ours to lose."

FC Sklep Guardiola currently command a 41-point lead over nearest challengers Eboue's Army and are the only side to break the 1,000 point barrier thus far in the PESGaming Fantasy Football League this season, however their recent dominance comes off the back of a poor start in the competition back in August.

"People forget, but we were actually in the bottom half for the first four, five, six weeks. We went out of the cup early and there was a lot of doubt about our credentials.

"The squad has picked itself up fantastically and turned things around - all credit to them for that. They've been extremely professional and focused and I think the league position reflects that attitude."

With only eight rounds of fixtures left, Eboue's Army need to have an average gain of 5 points per week to stand any chance of overhauling the current leaders, with many pundits calling it a mere formality that Matthew Connolly will bring silverware to FC Sklep Guardiola this season.

Voting
1) Robin Van Persie - 250pts
2) Luiz Suarez - 207 pts
3) Gareth Bale 178 pts
4) Juan Mata - 171 pts
5) Santi Cazorla - 163 pts

Handpicked by points at each position. The voting body decided on a 4-4-2 diamond formation to accommodate the hybrid Michu.

The PFL player of the year, Robin van Persie, was booed by the partisan Inter Rosso Leone crowd at the London award ceremony. A mob scene escalated into a rush of center stage where the dutchman was stripped of his overwhemingly large boots whilst chanting "Tommy" in protest that their center half, Thomas Vermalen, should have been recognized for the award. Extra security will be at hand for manager of the year award in a few weeks.

 at what happened to Van Persie. Also, good to see Mertesacker and Hart in the Team of the Year. Feel a bit bad for never playing Mertesacker anymore now.

Good work, Iron

Another Legendary Manager set to Retire?

After the shocking news this morning that left Manchester Utd fans crying on the tube on their way to work, rumours are rife today of another all time great who is considering retirement.
New is spreading fast on the blogosphere that NEWCO boss Ali Beedoubleyoueffsee is considering his future in the game, after a less than stellar campaign this time around.

After an illustrious career spanning almost two whole seasons, with a league runners-up and Twinky Cup to his name, would it be right for this legendary manager to bow out on a trophy-less season? Club Spokeswoman, Justine Bieber, was quick to deny any rumours:

"Absolute fucking bullshit. Fuck off you bunch of wankers." - Justine Bieber, in a Skii Sports News interview earlier today

Further updates to come as we receive them.

Connolly relieved of position

http://www.levantar.co.uk/images/images/Lean_Office_Administration_1.j pg

FC Sklep Guardiola have parted company with manager Matthew Connolly, although the club insist it is a temporary leave-of-absence to allow him to fulfill his league committee obligations.

After the club were only able to finish runners-up during a season in which they were the pre-season favourites for the league - a status they seemed to be well in control of justifying for most of the campaign - many pundits were tipping Connolly's tenure at Miesiączka Łąka to come to an end.

The club, however, made it very clear that, "Matthew Connolly has progressed this side fantastically this season and we thank him for his work towards an excellent second place finish. We now relieve him temporarily so he can pursue his administrative duties on the league committee throughout what is likely to be a busy summer.

"He is a credit to the organisation and a very enthusiastic man - whilst many other managers will be away on well-earned holidays, Connolly will be working hard to ensure the league's operation is carried through with the utmost thoroughness.

"We look forward to welcoming him back to the club with open arms after he has completed his obligations to the league."

Of course, whilst such a statement will surely appease any immediate fears over a sacking due to lack of silverware, many-a-manager in the past has lost their position following a similar vote of confidence from their board.

Matthew Connolly himself was unavailable for comment, with the Pole understood to already be on his way to PESGaming Fantasy League headquarters for an appraisal meeting with the rest of the committee.
