Hi,
I would like to ask which compressor give the best output viedo. I mean the best compromise between file size and quality. What I capture for 6 sec is about 80MB (640*480) and then I compressed it down to 4MB (400*360). But it is still quite big.
Pls give me some suggestion, thanks.

Best regards,
C.Y.

Hi mate.
Your file size is way too big to begin with. Your actually doing pretty well to get it down from 80mb to 4mb.
If you use a tv card, depending on the format, a 6 second clip will probably be just over 1mb & you can easily reduce that 50% with virtualdub. It would end up at around 500kb!
In other words, try to find a method of video capture where the file size is smaller to start with, then go from there.

I see, I will see your guides in other thread. I'm playing PC version of WE7I and use that software Fraq..(I don't remember the exact name) to capture the goal and the file is too big indeed. Actually, I tried reducing the resolution to 352x254, but the file size did not get reduced. That's why I think it is about coding method.

Thanks.

You can use Windows Movie Maker, import the file and save it as a wmv.
You can choose how big you want it to be, so if you want the wmv to be 800kb, choose 800kb, and the output file will be that.
