This is to all the people using the Slide-Card instead of a chip or the Flip Top. What experiences do you have with the card. Itīs a new version of the knife-trick, so I donīt think itīs quite good for your CD-tray. Whatīs your opinion.

The video for the slide card looks like a matrix trailer or something.

I don't think it is healthy for the PS2 also.
But it is slightly better than the knife trick.
I don't like the way the CD door is shoved in.

The slide card is value for money. i recently backed up a copy of Tekken Tag Tournament and pro evo soccer 1 and plays back as good as the original. i have experienced no problems with dvd-rom either as i backed up my pro evo 2 and it works absoloutley fantastic.

Zygalski says it's not healthy and with all respect i must disagree as it's an external modification which doesnt void the warranty. the disc tray on the video is pushed in and out in appauling circumstances but the key to keeping your ps2 in good working order is by taking your time and by pulling and pushing the disc tray as slow as possible.

I have patched wedoit3 on my we6fe original image which also plays well as an import.

You're right and if you prefer this method then that is cool.

But I have read about a few people complaining of problems of games not working using these techniques.

In my opinion, a chipped PS2 will last longer than one being used with the techniques. I don't know this fact for sure but it seems logical.
And time is saved with regard to boot disks.

thanks Zygalski

the good thing is that you can try it and if you dont like it you just put the front of the tray back on as you need yo take it off as it shows in the vids provided by the slide card.

and people who say that games dont work that is because they are not copying it properly. ALCOHOL 120% is the best method for copying 1:1 ps2 CD/DVD games.

PLEASE DONT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUERIES OR CONCERNS ABOUT THE SLIDE CARD.

I think generally the chips are better then the card, I read this on a forum of a German PS2-internet shop, except the Magic chip which works with 5 V, itīs too much for the PS2. With the card you have to open the CD-Tray without pressing the button, so itīs like opening the CD-tray of your computer without pressing the button. They said itīs quite dangerous, and if you destroy your PS2 the warranty doesnīt work.

wots the best external form of modding for a ps2 after the slide card?

larsson
25-06-2003, 22:19
Hmm, I heard something about a chip that works with the Action Replay, you don't need to open your PS2. If I find the link I will post it.

Zygalski

That's the USB chip I believe you are talking about.

An alternative method of modding is to use a flip top lid.

Yeah, but the Flip Top isnīt external, or is he ?

is it that neobox where u have to solder 1 wire?

Zygalski
26-06-2003, 12:21
jag87, yeah I think it is.
Not sure though.

I do believe the Flip Top Lid is external.
You replace the case of the PS2 with it.
It's not internal as in inside the PS2, is it?
Innit.
:p

Sorry to come back to the same subject but is there a non solder modchip as i dont want to void my warranty and is their a method of removing the copywrite seal on the ps2 without ripping it or voiding the console for warrranty?

Zygalski
27-06-2003, 10:26
I don't think there is a non-solder chip.
I don't think there is any way around the copyright sticker/seal. They will know if it's been messed with.
If you get it chipped, the chippers can provide their ownn warranty and seal.

BTW, how long the warranty last?

Do they fix or replace a PS2 within that time no matter what happens to it or are there certain conditions where they won't?

I had to have mine replaced after one week and not had any problems since. The problem was using a cheap memory card which screwed the card slot up. Only used official stuff since!

Zygalski, this is completely off topic but when you extract we6fe from its disc, how big should the bin file be?

Zygalski
27-06-2003, 11:58
I can't say for sure as I am at work right now but I know it's quite big.
600MB?
I know the .cue is 1KB.

If no-one can help soon, I'll let you know when I get home.

jag87
27-06-2003, 12:06
how about 686.1mb?

Zygalski
27-06-2003, 12:31
Nothing wrong with that.
Is there a problem with it?

jag87
27-06-2003, 12:55
no not really but will there be enough room for the patch to be applies den burned on to a cd. i have a infiniti cd-r 80min 730mb.

Zygalski
27-06-2003, 13:07
It doesn't matter.
You can still burn images of 800MB on a 700MB CD.

There's no need to worry - it has worked for others so it will work.
Because it is an image it sorts itself out.

Which patch are you trying?

jag87
27-06-2003, 13:18

I have tried wedoit 3 and it's very good.

http://www.freewebs.com/dt11/patchmain.htm
is the best guide to patching that I have seen.
It is by Mikeom1 and he knows what he is talking about plus simplifies everything.

Good luck with the patch.

i have viewed the link but where does the slide card come into this?

Zygalski
27-06-2003, 22:27
I don't know too much about it but it seems that once you connect, you won't be able to load the game disk.
Just be careful is all.

i patched we6fe with wedoit 3 and as i use the slide card of course, i used this methof to boot and with 100% success. the slide card is a worthy investment! (in my opinion)
