My friend you have been mistaken.
There are many threads about the X-Port in the editing and in the general sections with more info.
All the X-Port is used for is transferring of memory card files between the PS2 and the PC hard disk. That is it!
To use a patch you need to:-
Have an original WE6:FE.
Download a patch.
Apply the patch to an image of WE6:FE
Burn this image to CD.
Play using a chipped/modded PS2.
Sorry if this info is not what you were expecting.
There are some PES2 option files with corrected data but that is only for what is editable in the game and doesn't include logos or gloves etc.
www.showusmiracle.com has some in the downloads section.

Thanks yemi.
There is no way to get patches for PES2 unfortunately.
Yes you would have to buy the game.
You can chip your PS2 or use techniques like Slide Card, Knife Trick and Flip top lid.
Alternatives would be to buy a pre-chipped PS2.
Or you could even buy a PS2 from Japan (like reb is thinking of) but not too sure about that.
The techniques above are cheap, up to £45 including a boot disk.
It may be worth waiting for WE7.
PES3 may be on CD which would make it patchable but we don't know yet.

BTW, I wouldn't send back the X-Port.
You can save all your goal replays and other files on your PC hard disk so you don't have to delete them.
And you can email people goals and receive them too.
I think it's useful.

Price would depend on which chip you get and who installs it.
Most I've seen charge between £70 and £120 to do both.
There are a few around the place.
One I have used and can recommend is
www.thebarras.co.uk
Messiah 2 is a decent chip which will do the job.
You can buy the WE6:FE from Japan or on the internet.
I used to say goblindirect was a good place but have heard bad things about them so don't go there.
The knife trick etc, techniques are described in other threads.
Take a look around this editing section.
There's one very close about the Slide card.
Jag can help out with queries on that.
Also, you can use google to find out about these if you need more info.
That what i said look around you will find enough info. Dont ask stupid thinks.

the slide card looks like a good (Cheap) alternative. Anyone know where i can buy one in london or on the internet, where they take solo? Or any of the other alternatives, boot , knife trixk etc
thanks yemi
My x-port came today but i was asleep.got 2 pick it up from post office tomorrow. One thing i have to ask is this.If PES3 is on compact disc will i be able to download patches straight to my memory card or will i need to have it modified.
Thx for your help
It doesn't matter if it's cd or dvd if you are using a x-port, it imports and exports saved files (option files), so all x-port patches you could make yourself (unless someone has had a play with a hex editor.
So if you are referring to the really good we6fe patches like wedoit and the like then no, you need to burn them to cdr or dvdr and then have a capable machine behind it (modified to some degree, yes I'm counting knife swap and slide card as very slight modification).
