PES 2013
With Pes 2012 nearing the 6 month mark, thoughts naturally turn to the next installment of PES. While I personally think PES 2012 has been a major success, even claiming it to be the best PES yet, I can’t wait for PEs 2013. Since the revamp, I feel the series has improved dramatically, yet a lot of people I talk to seem to have a different opinion. With a split in the PES community widening every year, some love the new direction, some want the series to return to it’s hardcore roots, I wonder if Konami should alter their approach?
The Future
Should Konami take a break next year and focus on developing the best next-gen game they could over a two year period instead of the usual yearly release?
Here’s another idea. HD collections are all the rage now it seems. God of War, Devil May Cry, Splinter Cella and even Konami’s own Metal Gear Solid HD and Silent Hill HD.

@ seabass out i am totally agree with you, worst pes ever: defence, goalkeeper, CPU TOTAL FREEDOM, pass, shoots, AI it’s very very worst, referee… pes 2012 and pes 2008 are the worst pes of series. @ barry yes, pes 2012 its very good if he don’t have a lot of big mistakes: shoots, pass… !

was hoping for some hints and tips i seem to win 1 nil but dont win every game in my master league and with 10 games left ive only scored about 35 goals in the league and if i go 2 nil down im knacked is there a formation anyone seems to get results with. cheers

I say lower the skill level you play at so you can win more realisticly but if you start getting FIFA scores 5-4′s 7-3′s then up the difficulty again.
I wasnt having a dig a FIFA BTW but ive been playing it alot on the PSvita lately and on professional my scores are way too high..
Just set the passing on 3 bars instead of trying to be leo messi and have it on one bar!!!!!!
I’m playing on Superstar with passing on 3 bar, I’m not top of the league yet but I’m having a better game all round.
I tried playing with passing on 1 bar, its a total waste, because its not accurate at all..

I play on 1 bar or no bars because I got tired of passing to the wrong player.. it still happens but not as much and ive learnt to pass in the direction i want to fairly accurately..
sometimes I pass into open space so my players can run onto it but you cant do that on 3 or 4 bars
I find even on the lowest assist levels you still dont have total manual passing and this is only achieved with the shoulder button/ pass combination. (manual pass)
Whilst on the subject of manual pass.. the power settings is not too great as its too hard to control pass power/s speed manually.. ie too weak or too powerful

I agree 100% about the passing power bar, in regards to the manual passing, well, I feel its not as good as it could be. I have noticed that with the passing bar on 1, the players movement is different as compared to passing being on 3. Maybe I’m just crazy, I have been playing pes on top player for the last few years and now superstar, I just find it better on 3 bars. The ball goes exactly where I want it to(most of the time) and my 1 2 passes are more accurate.
If they just concentrated on getting PES12 to work properly, I’d be happy for the next incarnation. Its very much a love hate relationship. Its better than FIFA. It has parts of it that make going back to older games undesirable. But on the other hand it infuriates me to the point I could literally kill someone and have to take months off from playing it.
There are so many ridiculous things, not to do with bad programming, that could point to a change at the top being the way to go. An area that has been removed, manual cursor change, could fix a lot of problems for me. I hate the cpu randomly changing my players around. It causes all sorts of problems. What idiot decided to remove it? There doesn’t seem to be any play testing what so ever. How they could think the cut scenes, talks with players, worked well. It either need fleshing out and fixing, or dropping. Theres so much wrong with it.
The problem they have, is that without poorly programmed areas of game play and blatant scripting, I don’t think I would ever let in a goal against the CPU. Every goal comes from something stupid. I can’t stand the poor controls and scripting, but I also would hate it being too easy. They need to knuckle down and get the AI to be more competitive. Remove scripting and actually get the total control working so I’m not wondering why I’m even bothering holding a controller.
Generally EA and FIFA get it right at the top. Their decisions and marketing seem mostly correct, they just lack the actual game mechanics, which is a programming problem.
midnightkid aka barry im a fellow irish player luv pro evo have done from ps1 days but the problem i really have is the online cheaters on MLO i never see any 1 say about this yes ppl talk about the cheaters laggin out wen there gettin beat and it effects ur match %age but the worst cheaters r the 1s usein dummy players. dummy players is ppl makein up no namer players called dummy 1,2,3 and so on changein there name to ronaldo messi and all fix all there stats to wat they r as the real ronaldo and messi in the game. i seen ppl with emana in there team yet hes not in the game at all!!! alls u have to do is click onto the ppl top of the leader board look at there team history and u see dummy player 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 wtf! thats were they change the name of the player and fix there stats so it looks like the real ronaldo in the game and the real messi and all that so they dont have to go buy them they made them up. thats wat i want changed for pes 2013 nomore cheaters it sickins me. plz write back to this cus i do follow u on youtube and that :)

Hey man cheers for getting in touch! A fellow Irish Pes player is a rare thing indeed! I honestly don’t really understand the dummy players though man. I kind of understand but Could anyone add to that?
In one of my vids “pes 2012 cheating at its finest!” it is blatantly clear what these guys do. I will be leaving a link. People say I just played poor but I can’t stress enough my inability to move or control any of the players.
This will never happen. Konami will not take break for two reasons:
1- They are not welling to lose the 2 – 2.5 Million copies sold every years. we are talking about 120 – 140 Million bucks.
2- If they took a one year off, they will give more ground to FIFA. More people will buy FIFA when no PES is released.
So this will never happen, there will be a 2013 PES.
Hey am from Honduras ( central América ) scince i was young i played FIFA but then pes got my attention and stop playing FIFA ……now with pes 2012 I was totally disappointed , the defense system is the worst and goalkeeping is very bad… Strikers when you are in front of the goal alone, throw the ball directly to the goalkeeper ( most of the time ) even if your using CR7 …. But I also tried FIFA and didn’t like because am not used to the gameplay… I really hope pes makes a new totally different game next year with new graphics and more realistic everything… Thanks from Honduras :)

FIFA 12 is the best game, PES 12 is 2nd and very good.
FIFA 12 gameplay, if you play it as it should be, is amazing.I invested hours into fifa and the animations are endless.Using SUPERCANCEL with all these animations and the great physics is just great.
On the other hand PES has that magic.It’s still very playable and fun.
Please don’t use animations as your only selling point in FIFA

I think PES13 needs an overhaul in commentary, the game play issues will be resolved in due time. I think by fixing the minor details and adding more realism to the football experience, this will add up to a fantastic game.
Take away the license from Fifa and I don’t think it would be as appealing, I always said that when I played Fifa, it never felt like a real pass or real shot, with PES I know I’m doing these things because it gives you a better feeling.
I think we should tone down with the game play issues and try to fix the other aspects of the modes, like I said on previous posts, we need more realistic fixture lists, snow, players warming up on the touch line and revamped commentary. There’s many more little additions that can be implemented to enhance the game play aspect.
Realism off the pitch will help the experience on the pitch…

I think that dribbling and skills must be more realistic and Konami must add freestyle skills like Fifa 12 .
@ barry the dummy players have no faces there name is just dummy player 1 dummy player 2 dummy player 3 and so on whole team of dummy players wen they start the game its sum patch or watever ppl r downloadin that makes them change there stats of the dummy players. all the dummy players stats r 25 like 25 top speed 25 shootin and so on, but they have a way of editing these players to look like the real ronaldo and messi in the game with the same stats and the same hight and game face just looks like the real players but there dummy 1s u cant tell there dummys wen u play the guy but wen u look at there team history sum guys had all the top 32 players in the game in 8 days. and this was about a month ago would take weeks and weeks of nonstop playin to even get near 10 of them. aee the way we start with stien (mini roy lol) and all them players they start with all dummy players so they can edit them to whoever they want thats the cheat there doin

I’m glad to hear there is a PES fan from South Africa. I have been going lonely these days :D, but unfortunately I only play it on PS3, don’t have an Xbox. Planing on getting one in the next 2 months though. Last year I had like 10 friends to play with PES, this year there is nada (=zero), the thing is they get to much frustrated when even playing HUMAN vs HUMAN, there is that moment where PES takes control over your players instead of what you want to do aka SCRIPTING…so I’m going on this road alone until 2013 comes.

Haha I have the same problem with my friends, they get really angry when the scripting takes over. I do believe that the player sitting with the controller has enough control to prevent such moments happening whether its in attack or defense.
Some people put themselves in situations and when the scripting takes over they dont take the blame for it. The saying “if you shoot you wont score” applies to pro evo! People cry when they concede a cheap goal due to scripting but they dont give credit to the move that setup the goal or the shot being taken. I have one South African I play with online, hes really bad though -_- so he doesnt count =”(.

the most anoyng things in PES are the invisible walls, and in PES 2012 the most thing i hate is that how they kick the ball, how can you kick the ball just with one side of the leg and the ball and she goes all the sides…..
