IWP Player Of The Season Voting
Posted by Dan Bolas in Interfering With Play on Mon 06 Oct
Just wanted to take this opportunity to post a quick reminder about the IWP Player Of The Season Award. Each season Interfering With Play runs a player of the season award for the oustanding player on the previous years Pro Evolution Soccer. Last year saw Cristiano Ronaldo pip David Villa to the top spot and win the title, and this year I have already received a hundred or so votes from the PESGaming.com community. I am using this time to remind you that voting closes Tuesday 7th October 2008 at 11pm, with the votes being added up and announced the following week, in time for the release of the new PES. The players you vote for may not be the most popular or even well known players, but by voting for them, you are getting your voice heard on which players have been doing the business on PES2008 for you!
If you would like your votes to be counted, either add a comment, with up to three chosen players you would like to nominate, or send the players names to interferingwithplay@hotmail.co.uk.
If you have already voted or taken the time to e-mail me with your vote, I would like to thank you for your support. Please take the time, if you haven’t already, to check out In The Red, below.

messi
kaka
villa
Obvious selection would be:
1. KAKA – my visionary and midfield general.

Fernando Torres
David Villa
Messi
1- Lampard
2- Messi
3- Villa
1. Andrea Pirlo – Mops up everything loose in the midfield and is my #1 assister. Fantastic at Set pieces and penalties too.
2. Christiano Ronaldo – Best player in the game, nuff said.
3. Vicente – Unbelievable left winger, and very reasonably priced.
I have Vicente on the left wing, Ronaldo on the right with Pirlo in the middle in my Man Utd team and it’s the ultimate midfield imo. With Rooney and Tevez up front it’s a lethal attacking force.
Zlatan
Villa
Stevie G
1. Ibrahimovic
2. Adriano
3. Wayne Rooney (White Pelé)
1. Drogba (he is not so god now because his injured but later…)
2. Mati Fernandez
3. Messi
Christiano Ronaldo
Messi
Recoba (still love ya man!)
May seem like some odd choices, but having built my squad from the original players they give you when you start your master league, these are the guys that did it for me this year:
1. David Beckham
2. Park Ji Sung
3. Lionel Messi
Beckham got me out of many a tight spot with his free kicks and I scored so many important goals from corners her had taken!!
Ibrahimovic
Adriano
Javier Zanetti
Cristiano Ronaldo
Gerrard
Rooney
1) Iniesta ( Excellent balance, stamina, passing and shooting. Played almost every game for me in all competitions for 7 Seasons!)
2) Rooney ( Excellent balance and shooting and stamina)
3) Odonkor ( Great player to train and grow. Lighting fast with a blistering shot)
4) M Taylor ( Placed him in left back although he’s a midfielder. Amazing left foot for both crossing and shooting)
5) Etoo ( Probably one of the most consistent strikers)
6) C. Ronaldo ( Excellent all-around but took him a couple of seasons to make him ‘Great’)
7) Messi ( Same as Ronaldo, needs a few seasons to show his potential)
Let me know if anyone has had any similiar experiences
1) Zlatan Ibrahimovic
2) Adriano
3) Lionel Messi
1) Ibrahimovic ( body balance 97 incredible and not slow to )

Pro Evo really does need to take a leaf out of FIFA’s books! FIFA 09 plays really good, well impressed cannot see Pro winning this year
1. Nani- Great player to develop. Once he hits 25-26 he’s flippin amazing! He scored 41 league goals from midfield in my latest season on Masters league!! Unbelievably quick, super skillful and what a shot!
2. Jermaine Jenas- Was my midfield dynamo before Nani took over. Strong, skillful and a great long range shot.
3. Sergio Ramos- Great at both defending and attacking along the flank. Great speed, strength and passing.
1 – Messi
2 – R9 Ronaldo(brazilian)
3 – Aguero
@ R9NAL9O
Im shocked you dont have Ronaldo at number 1 lol.
gerrard messi rooney
ibrahimovic
cisse
luque
I baffled by half the choices here!!! The best player is pro evo 08 is Ibra, then personal preference between Henry, Cristiano, Ronaldinho and Eto’o!
and messi’s strength is so bad he can’t be considered!
guys…..please we need something more fun than list of our favorite players……please dont bore us before tha real thing hits out
Christiano Ronaldo
Lionel Messi
Fernando Torres
Zigic
Ronaldinho
Schwarz
Scott McDonald
Neil Lennon
Nakamura
a mention for Halil Altintop aswell. cracking in master league I scored loads of goals with him. Also Nani
Cant wait for pro evo 09. Ive got fifa 09 at the moment on PS3 and anybody who prefers it has no real appriciation for the game of football. Thats not to say it a bad game because its not but if you love the game of football Pro is the game for you.
C.Ronaldo
Messi
Robben
Lionel Messi
Brazilian Ronaldo
Kaka
1 Hangeland, best Defensive Midfielder ever! Unbeatable!
2 Hugo Almeida, MASSIVE body-b and ultimate shotpower, excellent in general.
3 Mladen Petric
In no specific order.
All in Master League btw
1. Ninis (panathanikos) – After a season or 2 on the ML he is stickin oot! Rapid pace, great shot, and Beckham-like free kicks.
2. Sergio Aguero (Athletico Madrid) – awesome
3. Adrien Silva (Sporting Lisbon) – Midfield maestro, long range shooting is quality.
All need a few seasons in ML
1) M. Taylor (develops to an insane level of FK ability)
2) A. Ferdinand
3) Tulio (got my defence through some tough times in the first seaon)
WHERE WAS PARK CHU YOUNG IN 2008??!! Superstar!!
(based on ML)
Villa
Ramon(superfast rb for one of the brazil teams, starts at about 17 quite poor but by the time hes 22 his speed is like 97 and so is his stamina, a constant feature in my ML)

zlatan ibrahimocic
Adriano
J zanetti for me
ML:
Rooney
Halil Altintop

Why have so many people picked cristano ronaldo as there no.1 ? Yes he is the best player in the world at the moment but that doesnt make him the best in the game ! I for 1 thought he was severely underated .
1.Adriano
2.Ronaldinho
3.Messi
a
Ronaldo, Gerrard, Ferdinand
I’m now signing out until later this evening.
If any comments are posted under my guise, it’s not me.
Ah man, I just listened to the WENB blog for this week. They just went on about how good FIFA is the whole time.. And here’s me holding off thinkin that PES will be better, when they essentially said FIFA is just as good if not better! Sounds like they’ve made a lot of changes and its significantly better than the demo, which is what I was (unfairly) judging it on. Screw this, I’m going out to get FIFA after work!
Lucas Leiva

It realli is time for a login name fed up with these wee tits using my name !!
Is anyone else really looking forward to playing ML on PES09 on top player? Should be a real challenge this year!
I’m just baffled at the majority people feeling the need to vote for ronaldo/messi/kaka etc simply because they’re the best statted.
Stats aren’t everything
I had van der vaart and still preferred arda turan as my attacking midfielder
and yeh loving the fact that shots on target are hard to come by mehdi, great to finally have a challenging master league.
I won every game in the league with spurs 2010 bar two (which I drew, just far too easy – no skill, just annoying wing attacks exploiting body balance stats
With my udinese team, I love playing through the centre working up intricate attacks and getting memorable goals, hopefully this will be essential if you want to win in oes 09 top player – I’ve already found that playing with barca gives no significant advantage
Lionel Messi
Wayne Rooney
Clubless Ronaldo
Fernando Torres
Miroslav Klose
Arouna Kone
1. fernando torres
2. cristiano ronaldo
3. sergio aguero
DROGBA – BEST STRIKER
MODRIC – BEST MIDFIELDER
TERRY – BEST DEFENDER
Huddlestone
Nani
Benzema
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Karim Benzema
Cristiano Ronaldo
Ashley Young
Ronaldinho
Ruud Van Nistleroy
1 Hleb
2 Lennon
3 S Rammos
1 S.Gerrard
2 D.Drogba
3 KAKA
It seems to me that people chose thier best player on the best players in real life and not who was best on the game. Ronaldo was good but on the game he wasnt so good that i thought he would be getting anywhere near this amount of votes, his shooting was at times for me terrible and he never made as much of an impact as Rooney did when ever i went Man UTD. I know every one has different opinions but ranaldo just wasnt good enough to justify this many votes.
I personally love
Cisse – pace and power
Puyol – my bulldog in defence
Mutu – playing on the left for those step in shots and lovely right foot inswinging crosses
Henry
R9naodo
Rivaldo(try him guys)
1.Halil Alintiop-Forget the stats he feels solid when playing with him, good body balance, pace and powerfull shot on target
2.Veron-Everything great about this player, amazing at passing and defending, crossins etc. His stamina though wont win him any prizes
3.Bystrov-He was my speed demon and played at left midfield dor a couple of seasons, great fast cheap player in ML…
BTW Man U. wants to buy him in real life
lol @ people who say fifa is the best because of licensing but the dont even have FC Zenit in the game UEFA and Super Cup winners ahahahhahahhahahahhahahhh
1.Henry
2.Gerrard
3.Shevchenko
here were my best three players all of which are gems
arizmendi (@ valencia turns out to be awesome if you play him afew seasons)
park ji sung (solid player quick, and stamina to burn
evra ( unbelievable going back and fourth down that left flank and gets better the more seasons you complete)
Rooney
Wallcott
Park Ji Sung
Adriano – partnership with zlatan unbelivable, strong, powerful and demon left foot.
Ibrahimovic – simply the best striker on the game, great dribbling, strength and finishing.
forlan – awesome shot, nice and agile
Kaka
Cristiano Ronaldo
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
1.Torres-Natural finisher can run at defenders and will stay fit and bag you loads of goals.
2.Downing- i know terrible in real life but great on the game always comes up with the goods.
3.Mascherano- but defensive midfielder in the world and on the game and mops up everything in the midfield also scores a few goals.
Downing isnt crap in real life,he scored 12 PL goals from midfield last season and a sack full of assists,he was boro`s player of the year the boro fans player of the year and north east footballer of the year.Trouble is when he plays for england all the ****neys get on his back and his confidence sinks like a stone.
ok you have your opinion but if he was any good he would be at a bigger club than boro.
Boro have turned down 12 million pound bids from spurs and liverpool for him.
well that would be a waste of money wouldnt it
youth is the way forward in the ML
1. trejo (after about 3 seasons unbelievable dribbling)
2. gervino (after about 3 seasons unbelievable pace)
3. rolong (after about 3 seasons unbelievable free kicks… especially as he’s a goal keeper!)
there’s also schwartz who comes into the game after a couple of seasons and is stupidly big and powerful
Here are a few ‘less popular’ choices:
1) BOJINOV – why has no-one mentioned this guy??!! Have had him in my ML team for last few years. He’s at Man City now but keeps getting injured at the start of each season! Has a quality shot, with both feet, strong, good at heading dribbling etc.
2) MARCHIOSO – quality midfielder, young buiold him up his stats become pretty high all around, excellent shot and ribbling.
3) MATHIEU -
