IWP Player Of The Season Voting

Just wanted to take this opportunity to post a quick reminder about the IWP Player Of The Season Award. Each season Interfering With Play runs a player of the season award for the oustanding player on the previous years Pro Evolution Soccer. Last year saw Cristiano Ronaldo pip David Villa to the top spot and win the title, and this year I have already received a hundred or so votes from the PESGaming.com community. I am using this time to remind you that voting closes Tuesday 7th October 2008 at 11pm, with the votes being added up and announced the following week, in time for the release of the new PES. The players you vote for may not be the most popular or even well known players, but by voting for them, you are getting your voice heard on which players have been doing the business on PES2008 for you!

If you would like your votes to be counted, either add a comment, with up to three chosen players you would like to nominate, or send the players names to interferingwithplay@hotmail.co.uk.

If you have already voted or taken the time to e-mail me with your vote, I would like to thank you for your support. Please take the time, if you haven’t already, to check out In The Red, below.

  96. Fuzz Says:

Ah man, I just listened to the WENB blog for this week. They just went on about how good FIFA is the whole time.. And here’s me holding off thinkin that PES will be better, when they essentially said FIFA is just as good if not better! Sounds like they’ve made a lot of changes and its significantly better than the demo, which is what I was (unfairly) judging it on. Screw this, I’m going out to get FIFA after work!

  97. DigOutYourSoul Says:

  104. Mehdi Says:

Is anyone else really looking forward to playing ML on PES09 on top player? Should be a real challenge this year!

  105. alex Says:

I’m just baffled at the majority people feeling the need to vote for ronaldo/messi/kaka etc simply because they’re the best statted.

    Stats aren’t everything

I had van der vaart and still preferred arda turan as my attacking midfielder

and yeh loving the fact that shots on target are hard to come by mehdi, great to finally have a challenging master league.

I won every game in the league with spurs 2010 bar two (which I drew, just far too easy – no skill, just annoying wing attacks exploiting body balance stats

With my udinese team, I love playing through the centre working up intricate attacks and getting memorable goals, hopefully this will be essential if you want to win in oes 09 top player – I’ve already found that playing with barca gives no significant advantage

  106. Dean Says:

    Lionel Messi
    Wayne Rooney
    Clubless Ronaldo

    1 S.Gerrard

    2 D.Drogba

    3 KAKA

  115. F.R.A.N.K. Says:

It seems to me that people chose thier best player on the best players in real life and not who was best on the game. Ronaldo was good but on the game he wasnt so good that i thought he would be getting anywhere near this amount of votes, his shooting was at times for me terrible and he never made as much of an impact as Rooney did when ever i went Man UTD. I know every one has different opinions but ranaldo just wasnt good enough to justify this many votes.

  116. Gaphead Says:

    I personally love

    Cisse – pace and power

Puyol – my bulldog in defence

Mutu – playing on the left for those step in shots and lovely right foot inswinging crosses

    Henry
    R9naodo
    Rivaldo(try him guys)

1.Halil Alintiop-Forget the stats he feels solid when playing with him, good body balance, pace and powerfull shot on target

2.Veron-Everything great about this player, amazing at passing and defending, crossins etc. His stamina though wont win him any prizes

3.Bystrov-He was my speed demon and played at left midfield dor a couple of seasons, great fast cheap player in ML…
BTW Man U. wants to buy him in real life

lol @ people who say fifa is the best because of licensing but the dont even have FC Zenit in the game UEFA and Super Cup winners ahahahhahahhahahahhahahhh

  119. Anonymous Says:

    1.Henry
    2.Gerrard
    3.Shevchenko

  120. danny Says:

here were my best three players all of which are gems

arizmendi (@ valencia turns out to be awesome if you play him afew seasons)

park ji sung (solid player quick, and stamina to burn

  123. John_vG Says:

    Kaka
    Cristiano Ronaldo
    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

  124. lfc * * * * * Says:

1.Torres-Natural finisher can run at defenders and will stay fit and bag you loads of goals.

2.Downing- i know terrible in real life but great on the game always comes up with the goods.

3.Mascherano- but defensive midfielder in the world and on the game and mops up everything in the midfield also scores a few goals.

  125. Parmoboy Says:

Downing isnt crap in real life,he scored 12 PL goals from midfield last season and a sack full of assists,he was boro`s player of the year the boro fans player of the year and north east footballer of the year.Trouble is when he plays for england all the ****neys get on his back and his confidence sinks like a stone.

  126. lfc * * * * * Says:

ok you have your opinion but if he was any good he would be at a bigger club than boro.

  127. parmoboy Says:

Boro have turned down 12 million pound bids from spurs and liverpool for him.

  128. lfc * * * * * Says:

well that would be a waste of money wouldnt it

  129. Anonymous Says:

youth is the way forward in the ML

    1. trejo (after about 3 seasons unbelievable dribbling)
    2. gervino (after about 3 seasons unbelievable pace)
    3. rolong (after about 3 seasons unbelievable free kicks… especially as he’s a goal keeper!)

there’s also schwartz who comes into the game after a couple of seasons and is stupidly big and powerful

  130. Bibster Says:

Here are a few ‘less popular’ choices:

    1) BOJINOV – why has no-one mentioned this guy??!! Have had him in my ML team for last few years. He’s at Man City now but keeps getting injured at the start of each season! Has a quality shot, with both feet, strong, good at heading dribbling etc.

    2) MARCHIOSO – quality midfielder, young buiold him up his stats become pretty high all around, excellent shot and ribbling.

    3) MATHIEU -
