Interfering With Play – Tuesday 16th February 2010
Posted by Dan Bolas in Interfering With Play on Tue 16 Feb
Welcome to this week’s Interfering With Play. Some great discussion last week regarding the ‘genetic’ problems with PES. Some of these are quite obvious, namely issues such as online and animation problems, whereas some of the others are things that no doubt only bother specific people. All of this information is golden when speaking to Konami about the future, and I am hoping to get dialogue going over the next few weeks, something which I know Double D likes to take the lead upon. This week’s IWP will drift away slightly from the topics raised over the previous weeks, however, I will be returning to them next time round. I also hear quite a lot of talk from people regarding FIFA being a far superior product. In my personal opinion, especially having spent some time with FIFA over the past two weeks, I don’t see it, but I am going to carry on my month long run with the game before writing any more on the issue. Finally, due to a very busy personal few weeks in the real world, I have had to put a slight delay on the IWP League. I haven’t forgotten or neglected the competition at all, but the initial e-mail and set up phases take several hours, something which I have been unable to spend in front of my laptop this year. The league will still go ahead, but it is running slightly behind schedule. With that said, lets crack on with this week’s Interfering With Play.
“Just Enjoy The Show”
This may seem like an old topic, and one that has been discussed on many other sites, but when it comes to presentation in sports games, it is not Konami nor even EA Sports that know how to put on a show, it’s the US franchise 2K Sports who are the definitive market leaders. Recently, I managed to pick up a copy of their yearly basketball franchise, NBA 2K10, having missed out on the previous two years. For those of you who haven’t tried it, I strongly urge you to either buy or rent a copy. Even if you don’t like Basketball, the design and presentation within the title is worthy of your appreciation.
From the starting menu, the fixtures are accurate to the day, meaning instead of playing random or meaningless friendly games, the matches you will be playing are the games that the real life teams will be playing over the next few days, This means all the in game stats such as league tables, player stats and scoring charts are bang up to date. It also means that when the game breaks for a time out or pause in play, the charts that pop up on the screen are real life accurate representations of the sport. LeBron James top scorer for the Cavaliers, no problem that’s there, you opponents keep on scoring three points, a quick check of the stats will tell you which players are the most dangerous from ‘down town’. Just like EA Sports Live Season, these stats are updated on a daily basis, but unlike FIFA, its all free and part of the package.
The in-game presentation is like watching a TV show. I know this is a claim that I made regarding NBA 2K7, but I must retract this after viewing what 2K10 has to offer. Whilst some of the graphics aren’t as good as they should be, the way the game uses replays and stadium atmosphere gives the true illusion you are playing a real game of Basketball. At the end of each quarter, the game puts together an accurate highlights package of the best dunks, shots and interceptions, and accurately follows each player. At the end of the game, you can select a player, and watch his personal highlights, be they rebounds, blocks or points being scored. Just imagine being able to do that with Wayne Rooney or Didier Drogba, something which Sky Sports and Match Of The Day both do. Also, the in game branding feels very natural too. Never mind tagged on adverts for ESPN or whatever is Konami’s flavour of the week, features such as the T-Mobile half time report, Sprite players to watch out for or the Gatorade stamina bars probably earn the franchise as much money as any Konami do, but also feel genuine and part of the game.
Of course, I understand the numerous differences between Basketball games and Football titles, and nor do I believe 2K Sports would be the right people to create a Football game. At a push, there are 50 teams, each fielding a squad of 15 players. These stats can be tripled and doubled respectively for a weak line up in a football game. This makes stat tracking much more difficult. Also, the NBA is limited to one licensed league, whereas PES currently has a mix of licensed and non-licensed teams spanning over 15 leagues. Take into account editing, and you suddenly begin to lose a way of keeping track. However, production values can not be taken for granted. The 2K Sports team have produced a franchise renowned for it without sacrificing realistic and addictive game play. This is the blue print for football gaming to follow within the presentation field, and I urge anyone to check out NBA 2K10, as it sets the bar for where I believe both PES and FIFA should be heading in the presentation stakes. Your views, especially those of people who play NBA 2K10, are greatly appreciated.
“Calling All Cars”
My next point is a personal one. I believe we have some very creative minds on this site, but more importantly than that, I feel we have open minds too. I know there are a group of people here who are die hard PES fans, whereas there are others who can see the gaming world objectively. I know we have FIFA fans who visit the site, and I am also aware that we have some people who would claim themselves to currently not be into football gaming due to the current selection available, I also know we have many fans of the Football Manager franchise, we have fans of Retro football games and I am also pretty sure we have a fair few flitted in between.
In spite of my strong PES roots, I have owned every instalment of FIFA football since its inception, and spent time with all the major franchises such as Sensible Soccer, Actua Soccer and This Is Football. I like to believe I know my football gaming. I am looking for a couple of good people who know their football gaming as well to take part in a new project I am currently working on. The roles are very much open, and I am looking for fans of all franchises, both past and present.
If this seems something that may interest you, please contact me on the usual e-mail address (posted at the bottom).
“It’s Not For Gaming”
I am constantly speaking to different people regarding football gaming at the moment, and I was just wondering a simple question. How many of you guys play your PES on the PC version of the game? Personally I used to own the PC version each year alongside the PS2 version, as it was an easy way of playing online, adding new teams and creating a more visually realistic experience. However, now I am a laptop user, I have stopped updating my PC making it borderline redundant for gaming (bar Football Manager). I just wondered, mainly by a show of posts, if there are many if any PC PES gamers out there. Make yourself know, either via e-mail or comments, as I have a few pieces of information regarding PES on the PC. However, I am not going to waste time on it if it’s falling on deaf ears.
“Was It Worth It After All?
Finally this week, I go back to an old gripe, trophies. For those of you new to the site, I am a huge fan of trophies/achievements. I feel they add an extra dimension to some games, and add lifespan to others. When done properly, and linked with unlockable content, they can make completing a game all the more rewarding. To earn a Platinum trophy (on ps3) requires a level of skill and commitment that takes it one step further than just completing the game and spending loads of time on it, something which I can testify to with my recent 100% completion of Assassins Creed 2. Other games require a huge commitment to the online portion, something which quite honestly I don’t have the time for, but understand the developers thinking when including these trophies.
For the first year of including trophies in PES and the fourth year of having achievements, I must say Konami have come up with the blandest and boring set of potential trophies. Very few of the trophies actually relate to your skill as a player, as they can be achieved on any difficulty setting, and what’s arguable even worse, most require simply playing the game for a set period of time. Dedicating so many trophies to the Master League and Become A Legend section does show that not only are Konami being slightly lazy with their trophy choices, they are not actually taking into account what’s going on with the football.
Looking at FIFA trophies, you have a range of options from editing to uploading to physically playing the game and scoring specific goals. Going even that one step further and back to NBA 2K10, there are player specific trophies. Score at least 29 points with LeBron, with 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Difficult to achieve but worth it when you earn it. Imagine a Xavi trophy for having at least 40 touches of the ball, setting up at least one goal and having a pass completion ratio of at least 80%. You have to complete this with Xavi playing for either Barcelona or Spain. Then you could have trophies for ‘lesser’ players, requiring gamers to be forced to use weaker teams in order to earn these trophies should they want them. It seems simple, yet I have a horrible feeling that Konami will once again cop out and offer a very poor selection of trophies.
I asked last year, but I will open it again. If you have a suggestion for a good trophy or achievement which is both fair and tricky, please leave it in the comments section below. If like me, you have a fair few ideas, e-mail them through to me, and I will try to compile a dream list of potential trophies and achievements. Of course, some may depend on a mode being in the game (enhanced training mode or scenario mode) but as we stand, think of ideas that would work on PES 2010. The more we get, the better the selection will be, and I hope to have a list to show you guys prior to sending it through to Konami.
That’s your lot this week. As promised, I diverted away slightly from the long lists of improvements, to give both myself and Double D opportunity to ensure we don’t miss anything. intereferingwithplay@hotmail.co.uk is the place to direct your e-mails to, should you wish to speak to me direct. If you would like to be involved in this new project (and for that, I look towards those individuals responsible for the longer comments), please contact me via e-mal direct. Comments or e-mails are welcome for other subjects.
Thanks for Reading

1st wow! acheivement :)
i mentions presentation regarding 2k09 before and u are so right, its absolutley brilliant i was actually shocked the first time i saw it, to bad im crap at basketball games. i agree its probably not ever going to happen on a football game due to the amounts of players and stats, but if pes just made it for CL maybe?
i play my pes on pc, i would like to hear this info :)
In terms of trophies or rewards, etc, I would really dig unlocking fully edited classic players.
Like for example: by scoring a number of goals in the Italian Serie A you get to unlock a fully edited Roberto Baggio, after playing a couple of seasons with a small club on the EPL you get to unlock a fully edited Matt Le Tissier, after achieving a particular number of assists in one season you get to unlock Carlos Valderrama.
Konami could do something similar to the old PES Shop, only this time we would get to unlock classic players who actually look like their real-life counterparts. I think this would be much better than winning a trophy with no actual value.
EA Sports haves licensed classic players, like Eric Cantona, Gheorghe Hagi, Zico, Hugo Sanches, Franco Baresi, Franz Beckenbauer, amongst others.
Why can’t Konami include a number of famous classic players, like for example: Roberto Baggio, Fernando Hierro, Ronaldo, Romario, Carlos Valderrama, Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, etc.
Is it much to ask, for at least 10 to 20 classic players with real faces and names? I think it would be fairly easy and cheap for Konami, and would certainly be noticed by a considerable number of fans.
ATLATICO F U C K S BARCA !!!!
2-1 !!!
I don’t care too much about trophies in a sports title but I’m sure I’m a minority lol. Agree with you Dan, the trophies for Pes are so basic and being able to achieve them on any difficulty really takes the meaning out of it. I think the trophy where you have to finish a season with all wins and no draws or losses is absolutely ridiculous. Pointless to complete on amateur or beginner level and impossible on pro or top. I would only bother with trophies if the game is short (10ish hours single player campaign).
Some good examples Amateur. How about something like score 20 goals from 25m or further to unlock Le God? Or score 10 free kicks to unlock Gianfranco Zola.
Hm, I think it would be good to see a Scenario Mode like ISS used to have, could be related achievements/Trophies attached to those, The problem with footy titles is that a lot of the achievements take an ice age to get, beat all the international teams, beat all the Italian teams etc.
If you’re going after those you have to play the game on an easier setting to make sure you don’t play like, 35 games for nothing. This spoils the game cus it’s too easy.
How about going the EA way, Pressed start – 50 points.
Kicked the ball – 100 points.
I’m playing a lot NBA2K10 and after the first patches the game ist simply incredible. I love the accociation mode. I like that everything statwise will be tracked.
In PES you can not even see how many games the players have played…it is embarrassing.
I have used the PC version since PES 5 as I have really enjoyed being able to update the game with correct everything. Ball changes and being able to overhaul almost all elements of the graphical side of the game. But, I also have been left very dissappointed by the poor online capabilities of the PC version for the past few years. I used to run my own leagues with mates online until PES 2008 went the online mode wents tits up. But I am now considering getting a copy of PES 2010 for my 360 just to play proper games online.
I have been left feeling let down by a company as big as Konami just because there is not as much money in the PC gaming side.
Trophy idea
Master league – for all players in your team under 20 you choose a goal for them to acheive in there career from a set list eg play for there country, win player of season, 20 hatricks, 50 freekick goals, defensive rock 100 clean sheets, over 75% pass success, 100 last man tackles, 50 vollies, 200 headed goals and so on.
You just check a certain players stats and choose a realistic aim for that kind of player, train him to have a better chance of reaching his specific aim.
Depending on what level you play at depends on what trophy you receive eg 200 goals at beginner level get you a bronze trophy but on world class you receive a platinum trophy.
Just an idea.
i hate pes, i think this years offering is poo!
PC PESplayer here. Let the info rip! :D
DB if you cant see the huge technical strides that ea have made with fifa then you really do need help, yes, its not going to be to every pes fans taste as some if not most prefer the simplicity of a game that makes all your power and placement decisions for you and requires very little user input with there pad.
Even konami themselves have been talking up the merits of the fifa engine and due to its success and greater freedom giving to the user in the decision making on the pitch will inturn see most of its facets i guarantee carried over to pes in the next 2 years as all ea have done is gradually over the course of the last three years re-incorporate old gameplay mechanics from konamis series ISS on the n64.
Its just a shame its taken ea over the course of two years to trump pes for konami to wake-up and realise what football fans really want in a game and address its wooden one dimensional gameplay mechanics.
The revolutions coming and about time to!
Is the information that the pc version of the game will be a games for windows live game and will enable achievements and crossfire with xbox 360 players? since we’re on the topic of trophies :P
DB
Most people that comment on here are grounded well rounded gamers that have experience of games that span over 20 years and appreciate diversity and freedom in there games but not at the expense of physical interaction with there buttons and stick nor are we fifa fans trying to start a flame war.
Its called being objective looking at the facts and taking in and embracing all that was good about the past and the present not writing it off and dismissing it because it happens to be made by a company that has a strong monopoly in the gaming sector or because by todays standards the graphics are poor when the gameplay underneath shines brighter then that of todays incarnations.
What do people really want on hear the comfort blanket of having the stabilisers on so you can play pretty football that looks nice but your not really controlling the ball or the protagnists on the pitch or something that delights and offers longevity and works on all levels from beginner to master.
Why are you talking up basketball games and assassins creed 2 there hardly revolutionary or particuly celibral and clearly demonstrate your not really a good judge of what a good game is prefering somethng more superficial.
Trophies and achievements are a fruitless exercise there just words and dont add or in anyway benefit games. What you should get is easter eggs or extras that are unlocked when you achieve things not cheap bragging rights to show friends or people on line.
PC user here, always have been, just love to turn my machine into a tool where I can work and play in all areas. And must say nothing beats the potencial and graphics of the lastest games for PC.
I also have NBA2k10 and it is revolutionary stuff, couldn´t get the hang of it yet, but it is great, graphics could be better. Probably the best sport simulation out there.
Hi. I have been a player of PES all the way back to when it was called ISS on PS1.
I too agree that the evolution has come to a halt. Konami have been too complacent, and haven’t yet delivered on next gen as we as gamers expected them to do. The iterations has gone steps back instead of forward. Many good things that were there in some of the final games on PS2 has been taken away on next gen. And my question is why? Was it too difficult for Konami and the development team to create what they wanted?
Here are some of my concerns regarding PES 2010:
They should fix throw-ins. Maybe so you control the receiver and not the thrower. And I am really not a fan of the new penalties. I am open to something new, but the new form doesn’t do it for me. The old way was outdated too. They should put the dribbles back on the L & R buttons on the back of the pad and make it difficult again – as in the old PES on PS2. It is annoying that the players make tricks or the Marseilles turn if you accidentally does something wrong.
Give yellow cards after the play advantage. You can sometime almost kill an opponent with a late challenge and go unpenalized. The amount of penalties given in games has gone unrealistically down – they occur very seldom in my games.
The reaction of players is too slow. The game speed is a bit too fast. Ball physics are sometimes unrealistic – it’s like you play with a plastic ball sometimes.
Maybe it is time for Konami to retire this old game-engine which is from old iterations and create something new and mind blowing. I love the fact that players are individually different and not like in FIFA where almost everyone can do the same (tricks etc)
I would also like the to be a short term stamina, as there are in basketball games and hockey. So you can’t sprint with a player the whole field and back again in the same pace.
the only thing about having a match of the day style show is the licensing problem. i dont want to hear shearer saying “nice play from man blue”
as for achievements/trophies; they have to progressive; as in there needs to be trophies you earn after your first match or the first time you play and there should be trophies for say scoring 1000 goals
My idea for a trophy :)
The Perfect Hat-trick! Another variaton is the “Perfect” or “Golden” hat-trick, in which the three goals are scored with the player’s right foot, left foot and head. It has become traditional for the scorer of a hat-trick to claim the match ball as a personal souvenir of the feat.
Would be nice to see the player who scored a hat-trick to get the ball at the end of the match in-game :D
Hi,
PC players here! If you have some pieces of information about PES on PC, sure many people would appreciate if you share them.
I’m really afraid Konami will give up the PC version of the game as EA had almost done. I really like the possibility of editing and tweaking the game on PC. Also the number and quality of patches available is hilarious.
User generated trophy challenges!!! Like Little Big Planet…
Now that will be a challenge for any sports game maker.
Imagine me creating a challenge where by Team A (A low ranked team) is 1-0 up against Team B (Barca with all their player @ top condition) start of second half. The challenge is to ensure a win. Or the other way round.
Or Team A vs Team B, playing with 10 or 9 men on Team A due to red cards. Challenge is to get at least a draw; either from a winning or losing position.
Something dawned on me the other day whilst having a few games on PES6. With the limitations of viewing the match from a cameras viewpoint (mentioned by Amateur), the game will never be able to give an adequate simulation.
In real life you dont know where everyone is all the time. Some players are better at building up a picture in their head where everyone is, by glancing around all the time or being able to ‘feel’ where people are. But real life information is much more limited. So how do you limit a gamers information, how do you increase the emphasis on reactions and quick thinking? Make the game faster than reality.
As everything is happening quickly, mistakes are made, passing opportunities missed, getting the timing right is harder, defending is harder. The skill comes with being able to think quickly and react quickly. Slowing down the game to make it more simulated has, in some ways, made it less realistic and more predictable and boring.
To answer your question Dan, I do own a few PES games for PC, but generally leave gaming for games machines since they came out. Apart from indepth management and strategy games, I’ve always found PC’s too unreliable for gaming.
dlc out
Duffman,
Yes that is the key problem, and it may sound stupid first time you read it, but it’s actually true. When we watch a football game via TV we see things that from our wide view perspective are obvious and easy to read -but- on the pitch, it’s a completely different game.
I think the wide-view perspective simulation haves huge potential… However, many things need to change for logical reasons. It haves little to do with the actual pace of the game and more to do with speed of thought, similar to how Chess is played.
Make the game slower and more precise, therefore adding new dimensions of space and time, the new available space should be enough to handle a better gameplay concept. More space in order to add more substance -aka- actual tactical play to cooperate with the technical end of the game.
Simply making the technical game faster and faster… will only lead to yet more obvious and repetitive gameplay. We need to have the power of playing with time and space, the COM should not dictate conditions on its own.

interesting topic re:yellows and advantages. in recent versions, i can’t say that i’ve payed much attention. but in the early years of pes, the ref would always give the advantage in proper situations, then card if necessary. there was even a little icon that popped up just to let you know that he saw a foul, but gave the advantage. the AI of the refs need to be boosted greatly, and made to be consistent. why have they fluctuated so much between versions? again, this idea has been beaten to death, but we need sliders to personalize much of the game, but especially refs. turn them off completely if we want an all-out bloodfest, or dial them in to make it a tight, technical game.
i know some people like the constant updating of the stats and player attributes. i don’t like this. i don’t like the constant change and someone else deciding how a team/player will play. it’s bad enough that some teams and players are unrealistically god-like straight out of the box. if this is realized, and they can be fixed later on to make it better, then have at it. but usually, it seems like patches for pes only make things worse. if anything, we should have the option of what can be updated. i think that would be totally fair, and again would give us, the gamer, more control over our game.
as for trophies or achievements, these things could be seriously overhauled for those who care about that type of stuff. how often have you gotten a trophy, and you were like, “Ok? What did I do to get that?” a scenario mode and training challenges will really get these things going. pes needs to engage us, keep us playing. these little things help. the WEN shop, earning that WEN, getting through those training challenges all helped to keep us going. earning the little things that we could use to personalize our game. that little rainbow effect on replays was one of my favs. even having to earn all the different kinds of balls, and shoes, and hairstyles.
you want a good trophy? how bout something related to keeping possesion of the ball for a certain amount of time, without having your opposition touch the ball once. this should be in single player, and multiplayer. you need a lot of skills, organization, and planning to make that happen.
another good trophy is scoring with the keeper. always tough, but it should be on higher difficulty levels.
one last suggestion is to score a gamewinner with a scissors kick or bicycle kick. i say this because maybe then they would make it easier to do such a kick on purpose, instead of getting lucky by randomly hitting the button. maybe it’s just hard for me, but i’d like more control over making that happen.
Good to see you finally praising FIFA as it deserves Dan, albeit even if you kept it short and through gritted teeth.
pes fans cry out for something different, and FIFA contains 99% of what people want pes to have next year, already in the game…
The only thing holding you back from playing fifa is your nostalgia for pes and a slight arrogance that comes with it (nostalgia).
It’s also, mainly i think, to do with what game your friends play.
When all your friends are playing FIFA online, having a proper laugh with it…you’d be a bit of a sad case to be sitting at home missing out, playing master league on your tod.
Or you don’t have many friends anyway, in which case playing FIFA online will again, be the better option, playing an ever evolving game against completely different opponents each and every game…rather than playing against the computer ai which anyone, in time, will suss, and exploit the in game weaknesses over and over again.
Hope you get the invite to test FIFA world cup + FIFA11 Dan. I’m sure you’re impressed with 10, and would thoroughly enjoy the next installment.
Keep an eye out and keep your mind open for UBISOFT too, pes doesn’t deserve its European fan base.
there’s a new PES update, in case any of you don’t know. i don’t have the game anymore, but those of you who do will be interested in this.
I will buy the UBISOFT game regardless of how bad the game actually is. I think the Football Genre needs that, EA and Konami are far too comfortable.
A really tough achievement that would be deserving of a trophy is “Win your first penalty against the CPU”
PC users are here :P

100% Right, Dan! NBA2k10 = The Blueprint. Real-life stadium atmosphere, graphics, commentary, gamplay, animation, player & team individuality, control over tactics, control over difficulty (arcade-style to ultra simulation), online and so much more (no seriously, lots more, I’m just too lazy to type it all out)
Most importantly is their approach to mistakes and to innovation. NBA2k10 had plenty of little bugs and oversights which the 2k team have fixed via proper updates (Not the awful DLC Konami & EA have been peddling). Every update is has made a huge difference to an already stellar game. Just have a look at contants of any of the patch. http://nba-2k.com/full-nba-2k10-patch-details/
But PES2010 still lives in my PS3.
I love PES but does PES love me? lol
Very, very disappointed in the new transfer update on XBOX! I had already done many of the premier league transfers myself using the internet for reference. So after updating the latest patch I was annoyed to find very little had been done in the way of transfers.
As a Spurs fan I notice Robbie Keane was still there, as was O’Hara, Hutton, Dos Santos. Gudjohnsen and Kaboul had not been transferred in either. So now I have to go through it all again myself, re-doing the transfers manually and all I gained from the new download was a new set of boots and Alnwick was re-introduced.
Seriously how hard is it for a team the size of Konami’s to quickly update the transfers? It is ridiculous and doesn’t leave much hope for the promised future updates!
Konami have gone and shown us just how much attention they have put into PES again with faulty DLC! Just read it on WENB. Idiots!!
INTERESTING COMMENT FROM ADAM AT WENB!

It’s weird i’ve heard all these guys (perticually on evo-web) talking about how there in like the 8th season of master league and loving it… i’m thinking how can you possibly be that far and loving it when the AI play with such a horrible style of football???
LOL I have to agree, but I guess its about personal preference.
I mean I read the guys at PESGaming think PES 2010 is the best in the series. I obviously disagree a hundred million percent, but respect their opinion.
Just downloaded the new DLC, awesome, a pair of black boots and some transfer updates, thanks Konami, your generosity knows no bounds.
DONT DOWNLOAD THE NEW DLC!!
Here’s why:
2010.02.17 Sincere apologies for the inconvenience with the DLC
The DLC released on the 16th of February 2010 contained incorrect data, and some players’ free kick motion do not appear properly.
SIMAO – PORTUGAL/C. ATLETICO MADRID
VILLA – SPAIN/VALENCIA C.F.
S.CAZORLA – SPAIN/VILLARREAL C.F.
DIEGO – BRAZIL/JUVENTUS F.C.
LUIS GARCIA – R.C.D. ESPANYOL
PEDRO LEON – GET AZUL
When any of these players are used in a match, the game may not perform properly, and we would like you to refrain from using these players until the problem is addressed.
We are currently in preparation for releasing the corrected data which will address the problem once it is applied to the game, and we would like to ask you not to remove any game data.
We are making every effort to release the corrected data later this week, and the schedule will be announced once fixed.
We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences caused by this problem.
ITS FROM THE KONAMI ONLINE PLAYERS GUIDE
You should try NHL10 or MLB The Show Dan. Their presentation is amazing as well.
DLC outdated and broken?
….and these are the same people/team who are promising a revamped PES 2011 with a new engine, updated animations and a better overall game than 2010.
I can’t wait.
As a longtime fan of NBA2K series I have long wished that 2K would release a football game. Everything you have described about the attention to detail in 2K10 would be amazing for PES, sponsors, stats, commentary really add to the experience. However I think one thing you underestimate is the gameplay. In fact I think NBA2K10 gameplay has more depth than any PES game released so far. I hope this is a wakeup call for EA / Konami
Yeah I like the idea of trophies with the old Scenario mode like in ISS. However, the biggest irritation for me this year was that you can’t unlock trophies while playing two player. My brother and I love playing Pro Evo together and Konami not allowing us to unlock the trophies together is an outrage. They must change this. Also, online lag is unbearable and an embarrassment. So online trophies should not be on there unless the online gameplay is actually playable!!
mlb 09 the show, baseball game on ps3. incredible attention to detail, and gameplay to match. The total package in sports games.
have ordered 2k10, and looking forward to that.
oh forgot to add, a little competition in the football computer game market would certainly be welcomed.
it would definately mean that these developers would have raise their game, bigtime.
Just a quick question i am in Canada and play PES on the xbox 360. I recieved some information that the lobbies in PES on the ps3 are always packed.. Is this true.. I know in England and the European countries this is true but what about the North American lobbies.. If so PS3 here i come..
If so this would make sence because winning eleven/pro evo was originally on the Playstation system and P.C..
thanks for feedback if any
To Amateur,
I think your idea to unlock fully edited classic players is a great. Though PES has to sort out the major faults first I think it would be a good bonus to unlock players like luis figo.
14 ranking points taken off me because i drew a game!!! terrible system, what a disgrace
that anonymous guy must have bare time on his hands….
If anyone has downloaded the corrupt patch, could they tell me if it has fixed the referee so that the CPU gets the same treatment as the user? lol I probebly know the answer to that question anyway but it was just incase Konami delivered a corrupt miracle…
Wow, repetitive strain syndrome or what!
Not interested in PES any more, I will now waste my time trying to find out info on the potential Ubisoft game. Have even offered to lend PES to a mate (unheard of in the past). He didn’t want it either!
I am just playing this game that was discovered by stupid wiz kidz never played football before, and which for 10 or so years corporate executives are exploiting any way they can to earn money from us ( with minimum to no effort -evolution and progress). I personally never expect a pc game to came close to reality so this forums keep on raisng false hopes just to make us buy the next installment. This industry pawns play the surest industrial game (buy the original game year after year together with a new system and with a new tv …..)
The gamers are the target of the whole tecno and media industry.
I must though admit that the worst thing is that i can not imagine a friends gathering without any game filling our time together. So we are all addicted to a certain way leaving and socializing through electronic gaming and if this is the case then even the crapiest game easily does the job.
I am an amiga kick off aficionado and i am proud of it, though i have succumb to the pes series.
Fixed DLC is out! A few extras transfers made but mainly a fix to the previous DLC
Cant win a game online today. Yesterday i couldnt lose. Really starting to piss me off now im considering snapping the disc in half and posting it to japan
I think Konami’s reign of being the footy sim kings has definately come to an end. It looks like EA have improved FIFA gameplay again with the new world cup edition (even the graphics have been improved closer to PES now). Something Konami have struggled to do with PES in 4 years! Its actually quite embarrassing now especially when Konami release a small update with transfers and a couple of new boots and even manage to balls that up!
KONAMI are a disgrace. Terrible out of date DLC that was corrupt to begin with. I could do a better job than those TO$$ER$.
47, 48 AND 48 annonymous, get a life you sad pathetic tit.
