PCAction have something extra special for fans in England today… Over 74 pages of stats!
Fabregas of ‘North London’ finally has stats to represent his ability. It’s something which has bugged me for the past 2 outings.
As a Newcastle fan, I find it hard to understand how Stephan Carr can have such high stats, whereas a more consistent performer like Steven Taylor be rated so poorly. Meanwhile Obafemi Martins having LESS shot power than Alan Smith is an absolute joke.
I am sure though many of you will have complaints about your favourite team, so let’s here them!
They’ve got Hleb’s dribbling down for sure, but he has overall better passing than Cesc?? No way!

Nice to see Carsley being photo-done over pople like Arteta >:( Also, Lescott still looks like Yobo’s stunt double which is a bit ****. Hope the face editing is better on next-gen.

Also Alex from Chelsea is way underrated. Such ****ed up stats.
I still say Cesc’s passing should be better, this judged on the stats of other similar players. He’s easily one of the best passers in the PL, and was second in assists last season (not that the assist stat is just down to passing ability, mind). I suppose he’ll develop fine in the Master L, tho’. I also still claim his balance should be better. One of his strengths after all is his composure and ability to keep the ball under preassure.
Why is Solskaer still in the Man Utd squad?
No Yakubu in the Everton team either! Konami are lazy bastards!
Villa team are still under-rated! England internationals Barry and Young especially! Also theyve once again picked some of the lesser players to have real faces! Not sure where they get these stats from?

as a derby fan, a bit disappointed to see that all but 2 of our players look nothing like they should. No kenny miller, and i cant remember earnshaw being that black? also a player in there that we never even signed over the summer, we were just linked wiv him. the lesser known players and teams definitely need more work put in, i jst hope the editing mode can help this.
as for the big teams tho its lookin good :)
Terrible arsenal stats i dont see how giggs, scholes, ronaldo voronin etc all have a better shot accuracy than van persie, plus fabregas’ stats still seem low to me he deserves much better for passing.

well as a sunderland fan i’m disappointed, firstly, we signed kenwyne jones and ian harte on the same day and jones isnt even on!!! and i’m pretty sure andy cole was signed after those two and he’s managed to be on so disappointed about that, the stats are actually quite OK for some players so should still manage to kick all your arses online with the red & white army.
p.s. remember an old PES, 5 or maybe where there was no striped kits on edit mode, i have a horrible feeling thats going to be repeated as sunderlands strip isnt in stripes!

dunno how most of da west ham 1st team dont hav pics up but carlton cole (CARLTON ****IN COLE!!!) does. noticed dis with sum otha teams like villa not havin barry’s face, everton with arteta & lescott & blackburn with da likes of bentley. i understand that some players have their faces becoz they play 4 licensed national teams but it makes no sense leavin out sum of da playaz dey do. & also da fact dat dey hav stil failed to sort out correct skin tones 4 a lot of black players (lescott, earnshaw, stern john) takes da piss. as does carlos edwards bein white…

Your all basing your opinions on this season….. u have to remember that when konami made the game and therefore the stats, the players weren’t in the form they are now!! for example ‘J’ van persie scores like 1 free kick a season for arsenal so why just because he scored 1 last week should he have more accuracy than rooney??or for that matter shot power.
and just cuz adabayor’s havin a good season doesn’t mean he’s that good really, just he’s playin well at the mo. Arsenal were meant to be **** remember when Henry left…..they’re just exceding expectations so far…
i totally agree with DanB there, these players are basically how they performed last season so just beacuase van persie scored a powerful freekick against sunderland the other week doesnt mean he should have 99’s for power and free kick accuracy, he didnt even do much last season!
Thanks Anonymous (who I highly suspect is Paddy again), just could Toure could tackle me, a guy who could even get into a non-league side, with no legs (I don’t even want to think about how that works) must make him the best defender in the prem. I stand corrected.
DanB is right, Arsenal are just having a good season so far, doesn’t mean all their player have become world class. Cesc passing should be better than Pleb’s though. And Adebayor is a long way from top class.

I would really like to just write in to Konami and politely ask them if i could do all the stats for the next edition. I would simply assess every team over the year. They’d obviously pay me to fly to various countries to watch games. What a job that would be eh? But seriously, this is all it would take, a team of around 10-20 people, or however many to just do some research. It’ll make the game so much better and will appeal to more people. I dnt really understand them but hey, they say all genius’ are mad so i’m just gonna let them do their stuff! Bring on pes2008!
konami should recruit a team of professional scouts to edit players abilities yearly. a team of ex international footballers, coaches and managers and reporters should complie a file of stats. and not the current staff that is being employed now. every year i am correcting the stats of players and this ruins the game play for me. as it makes me feel as if i am cheating. but i cant play a game where dyer is better than elano, elano is still a poor player since pes 2006!! even emre is better than elano! the list is endless!
but seriously….how can shevcenko still be considered a top class striker. his stats still suggest he will b in the top5 forwards on pes 08. why is stephen carr so good?!?!?! manchester city have the same stats since pes 06. konami need 2 pay more detail to realism. which is why we all fell in love with this game in the 1st place.

Is there actually going to be a transfer mode on this one? I think there will be because from the stats of the England team you can see there are created players there, so there must be a international selection mode, so surely there will be transfer as well
